“Cities were always like people, showing their varying personalities to the traveller. Depending on the city and on the traveller, there might begin a mutual love, or dislike, friendship, or enmity. Where one city will rise a certain individual to glory, or destroy another who is not suited to its personality, however this isn't any normal city; The city of Destin.. Will consume you whole, no-matter who you are and how long you've been there, it will strike you down where you feel most safe and take all that you hold dear, like the person it truly represents, only time will tell whether the city or the person will strike first."
Welcome to Destin, the Bitter City.
THE CITY
Destin city, the place where the gleam of headlights shine through the flood of rain at night, a city of opportunists and a place where a man can call home and also his grave, a city of dreamers and fiends, but not everything is as it seems in this city of dreams, the dark paradise which has no boundaries to be seen.
Located within the American state of Massachusetts, Destin finds itself as a dark calculative city with a waterfront view. The city is described as being dark and usually overcast, plagued by lightning storms and strong winds, especially within the winter months. This is a result of cold winds being blown in from the east, bringing lot's of rain with it. Due to the usual overcast weather, the city is known to be dark, illuminated by nothing but street lights and the bright gleam of car headlights.
The city is divided into four separate districts, each district totalling up a total area of around 230 km in diameter, the city is close to the size of Boston, it's nearest neighbour on the east coast. These districts range between upper class and lower class housing locations.
- Pierson: Known as the upper class location of the city, filled with the majority of stores and shopping districts, this location also holds many landmarks and tourist destinations as well as many high-rise buildings and public parks, this location is usually incredibly busy and congested and although the winter weather is cold and rainy, the people of the city don't appear to be scared about exploring this district at any time during the day; crime is also very low in this location due to a high police presence but it's still a possibility.
- Wallace: Middle class homes can be found here, featuring streets of small businesses and cafe's. The location is usually rather pleasant but troublemakers are not uncommon, police are seen patrolling regularly and they ensure that this location of the city is mostly safe, although several murders and assaults have occurred here in the past. The location has direct access to the main freeway of the city as well as entry to the other districts. It's guaranteed that you will pass through here to get anywhere else.
- Old Town - Jefferson: The original Industrial centre of the city; filled with many industrial businesses and warehouses. A thick smog fills the location and is not pleasant to behold although some tourist locations are found here for those that wish to view the original steal work factories that the city was originally built around. Crime activity here is fairly high as many gangs use the warehouses as locations to carry out drug deals and carry out business, assaults are also common.
- Greirson Mile: The most dangerous part of the city, tourists are advised not to visit here as it is considered the worst place to live on the east coast of the united states. Crime is through the roof, there is weekly assault charges and a high increase of murders committed here, homes are usually slums and unpleasant to look at. The police generally avoid this area unless completely necessary. The location is also built into a lowering slope so the area is incredibly wet and tends to flood during rainfall.

Police Chief Inspector O'Donnell
officially a captain within formal police rankings, O'Donnell has been in police work for the past thirty-five years as a homicide detective. He now runs and operates the homicide division within Wallace Avenue Police Station; he is known to have a firm nature around him, a grizzled and strong edge which is something that is required of an individual that must live within a city such as Destin. He is strict and harsh on his fellow detectives, he expects the best and he expects results, especially when he has to report to the district attorney regularly with status updates. Most of the time he can be found in his office but in rare occasions he will attend crime scenes when required.
Doctor Samuel Hertzin
Dr Hertzin is a professional in his field. He assists at crime scenes and gives medical advice and observations to the detectives; this man has seen a lot of death, many blank white faces with emotionless expressions yet he doesn't appear to be fazed by it. Serving the police as a coroner for the past thirty years he has worked tirelessly to find relevant evidence found within the bodies of victims, making him a professional at autopsy and analysis, if anything needs checked or investigated further within the medical field, Samuel is the person to go too.

THE BLOODY BUSINESS CASE
Dispatch received a call this morning about a deceased white male, believed to be in his late thirties, formal attire, appears to be a business man; He has been found by a hotel maid at around 6PM today at the Reenoa Hotel, down at 372 Rendis avenue which has a history of being run by the mob; Classy place. Police and the coroner are already there, as well as the female maid who is a witness to the possible murder is also on site and will meet you there, get to it and see what you can find.
THE DROWNED PLAYGROUND CASE - CURRENT CHOSEN CASE
Last week the local precinct received a missing person report, Twelve year old white male, the boy's name is believed to be Bradley Miles; Black hair, green eyes and has a small birth mark on his cheek, he went missing on his way back from school. This morning a construction worker down by the city freeway underpass at 61 Rellis street found a diseased victim that appears to match our missing child report, it's a troubling case but we have to do it, it may not even be a murder as suicide is also on the table. Police are already there as well and the coroner, and remember your raincoat, it's horrible out there today.
THE DRUGGED BUTTERFLY CASE
Young white female victim, believe to be in her early twenties was found overdosed in her home this morning by her partner at around 8am. The substance in which she overdosed on is still unknown but the coroner will give more details after the autopsy. The thing which brings our attention to this case is the fact that she appears to have severe bruising and signs of strangulation around her neck, lack of a rope also indicates that this was not suicide. She is also naked so rape is also possible. Police and coroner are on site and the area is taped off; and be careful about this one, it's a rough neighborhood, down at 87 Gernit avenue, good luck.
The rain continues to pour in the cold unforgiving city; for two detectives, one more experienced than the other a new partnership is to be born within the abyss of the city, working together to uncover the mysteries of evil and bring justice to those who have been lost, however this is a difficult business and outside of the work of policing the two detectives both hold private lives, their own problems and ideals and thoughts that they must live with for the rest of their days; only time will tell where they will end up in the city, but for now it's a mystery flooded in the rain.
This is their story.
