TupperWare Bowl What's Gusty taste like?

it's like if someone in a roleplay is jogging along then they say "hi frank" to frank, but frank was abandoned, so he's just standing there in this weird limbo state, then what happens to the other character? The other character either has to wait until frank regains sentience, or they can weasel their way out of the situation. If the character interacts with frank too much without realizing it, they themselves can get turned into an abandoned character. So then we just have this plague of stationary characters that everyone has to keep their distance from unless they want to get infected too. Let's go over the stages of these.

Stage 1: Acknowledgement
This stage is almost never fatal to the character, as it doesn't even make any request for the abandoned character to respond. In this scenario, we see our young boy James pointing at Frank in the distance.

As you can see, James doesn't expect Frank to react, and will continue on his way in his next post.

Stage 2: Light Interaction
Now I know when you hear "interaction" and "abandoned character" in the same post, you want to run back home and hide under your bed. But don't worry, if you know the protocol, you will find it to be quite easy to survive light interaction.

Let's see what our young boy James is up to today. It seems that he's about to greet his pal Frank.

Now this seems like this will be a pretty ordinary interaction right? WRONG! What James doesn't know is that Frank was abandoned a few days ago!

Now let's pretend that purple stuff Frank is radiating is some form of time disturbance. Everyone who interacts with him too much will get an unhealthy dose of it. Too much time disturbance will freeze a character, making them into an idle, time leaking freak like Frank.

Ok so we understand how this happens, but how do we escape it?

The important thing is to stay calm. Your first instinct after waiting a while for Frank to respond will probably be to question his nature even further. This is NOT the right thing to do. Let's see what happens when our boy James tries this.

As you can see, digging yourself further into interaction with an infected character will only make things worse. Questioning the infected forces you to wait for a response, a response that will never come.

The correct way to escape a light interaction such as this is to come up with a reason to post again, maybe you're character notices that he is late for work, and has to bolt. If you have permission to universally change the roleplay, then maybe have a random tidal wave approach in the distance. The possibilities are endless.

Stage 3: Interaction
Now that you understand the basics, it's time to go over interaction. Interaction can be anything from asking a character how their day is going, to offering them a hotdog. Here we have an example where our young boy James is requesting an ice cream sample from Frank, the undercover infected.

Now you're probably thinking to yourself "Welp, nice knowing you, James. There's no getting out of that one." But do not lose hope so easily! If James carefully prepares his next post, he will get out without a scratch on him! But first lets see what a new, unknowing roleplayer might do:

As I said before, bringing more attention to the situation at hand is what gets your character turned into an infected.

Now getting out of this situation will be a bit more challenging than before. You can't just simply pretend like the event didn't happen and walk away. No, no, the only way you can double post your way out of this one is by making your character have an emotional outburst. For example, if you are in a sticky situation where you've asked an infected a question, and need to escape, you're character can say something like "YOU ALWAYS IGNORE ME, WHY DON'T YOU LEAVE ME ALONE!!!"
after you have successfully administered the outburst, you exit the area immediately, and maintain a large distance from the infected at all times. Now let's see what our young boy James has thought of to mosey his way out of this one:

Remember folks, after you have administered the outburst, exit the area immediately. If not, your character will appear to be waiting for a reaction from the infected, and you will be frozen yourself.

Stage 4: Dependency
This is the last, and most deadly stage of them all. Dependency refers to a situation in which your character actively needs the infected to do something in order to continue the roleplay. It is easy to give up, to throw in the towel, when left with seemingly no options, but I am here to tell you that there is always hope. There is always a way to save your character from being frozen in time.

Here we have a situation in which James needs Frank to deactivate pipe that's filling a room up with water.

Now you might be thinking that the only possible option for James is to take a chance and directly confront Frank. Well let's see how that turns out for James:

Now he isn't just a person about to drown, he's a paralyzed person about to drown. Pretty much his only option at this point is to make a post where his own character dies, and then respawn.

But lets see what would happen if he had approached this differently.

WHOA! Didn't see that coming! When you're in a bad meta situation like this one, revealing a hidden talent that you just thought of for your character is a great option! This is especially useful in those weird demonic roleplays where 90% of the population has been cursed by an ancient spell.

Well that's all the tips and tricks I have for you today, folks. Just remember to be on the lookout for suspicious characters that haven't been used in a while, cause they are probably abandoned! Hopefully you've learned how to survive bad situations like these.
