I think I might want to join, but first I'd like to know, what's the status on the US government? Are they completely dead? Or are they still influential, just less so? If the US dissolved, are there US states which survived as independent countries? Also what happened with Mexico?

Sorry, I'm just curious and want to use some background info with my character.

Most/all of the world's governments have dissolved. I think Mexico's probably gone the same way as the US and turned into something of a total wasteland, although in terms of climate it's probably really dry but better off. As for US states surviving as countries, probably not. Bottom line is that society has completely collapsed at this point, which is several decades after it started. I hope I helped!

How populated is Crowhead? And about how populated is the surrounding area? How far is it from Crowhead and the nearest other city-state?

(To be realistic, it is said that 1000+ humans are preferable in order to not die out from inbreeding.)

EDIT: Sorry for so many questions, but in population, is Crowhead bigger or smaller than most city-states?

Name: Martin Smith
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Hunter-Gatherer or City-Dweller?: City-Dweller (?)
Rank: Foreign dignitary
Appearance: Martin stands at 5'11'', with a thin build, brown hair and hazel eyes. With both a fascination with the pre-Ice Age world and a need, as royalty, to look the best, Martin often has clothing that in some way dates back to the era. Though like most other people he wears a hooded fur coat, he had someone make a backpack, like people back in that time used to wear (though it's little more than an unstructured leather bag with a rope strap). He has a compass which still works (why wouldn't it?) and he has a pistol with a single bullet remaining (bullets being very difficult to come by now). Finally, he wears a cross on a necklace.
Personality: Enthralled with his great-grandfather's stories of the glorious pre-Ice Age civilizations, of great cities and the great Euesshae (it was like a city-state, but bigger!), Martin is dedicated to pushing humanity towards that again. He is zealously attached to this goal, though he's selfless in pursuing it and doesn't care much about his own status in the world. He can be stubborn, but is charismatic and knows how to push his desires. He likes pre-Ice Age books and trinkets, and collects them whenever he can find them. He's a little trained in self-defense, but would prefer to settle things diplomatically.
History: The heir to the throne of the nearby city-state of Bisonskull, Martin was raised on stories of the land before the Ice. Bisonskull, greater in population but technologically weaker than Crowhead, is equally popular a target among raiders, especially during Martin's late grandfather's rule, which caused him – and his son, Martin's father, in return – to become steadfastly traditionalist and protective of the city. The current attitude of the city-state is hostile to outsiders. Martin's great-grandfather (who would die after his son), however, was steadfastly against this, having lived in the pre-Ice Age time and knowing that working with others would lead to progress. So he took control of Martin's education, instilling within the child dreams of an enlightened time, until he died when Martin was 15. These dreams would live on, along with a plan, from the limited information spread to Bisonskull from surrounding city-states. At age 22 Martin decided the time was ripe, and set off (in secret, leaving a note for his father) towards the nearby city-state of Crowhead, to offer himself to Queen Keria Upel as a suitor for the heiress of Crowhead.
Other: At the start of the RP he's close enough to Crowhead to come into contact with the Clan of the Roaring Winds.

This assumes the heir to Crowhead is female (hence “heiress”). Is this okay to assume?

I'd say Crowhead is probably smaller, but I guess it'd fluctuate because they have good times and bad times.
Your character's accepted, really well thought out, I love it. It's okay to assume the heir is female, although of course you'll have to understand that so far there's no one to fill that role. Jump in whenever!

(Apologies for doubleposting, but) Is there any posting order? Can I just post right now, or should I wait for someone else to post?

I'm not really sure what to do... :( I'm kinda stuck until either someone talks to Arysta or Lyra or something happens.

I just realized that the second possibility in my last post (war between the city-states, the possibility my character hopes doesn't happen) would form a much more interesting plot, providing direction and something to do for all characters (I assume the hunter-gatherers would get involved in the war), than the first.

Whoops.

(I leave the choice of whether Bisonskull declares war or not to you, CLIW. And though my original intention was a peaceful merge, I do realize that war is the more interesting event, plot-wise)

I really like the idea! Would they be fighting over resources, technology, Martin running off? Of course, I can never really decide, but I'd like to see where it goes with the talks and all. Thanks for the suggestion!

If the King of Bisonskull does declare war, it's mostly because of Crowhead's perceived abduction of Martin, his son. Now, whether or not the King of Bisonskull realizes Martin is there of his own accord (and if he does, whether or not the King chooses to declare war anyways) is up to you.

Forgive me for being inactive. I've been moving to another country, and only now have settled in and got access to internet.

Also, a picture relevant to my character

I'm still here.

I wouldn't really say the RP is dead, rather that it has been conceived and hasn't yet been truly born (in regards to plot). But this RP's (in fact, most RPs') metaphorical mother is unfortunate enough to live in the metaphorical Middle Ages, and the rate of complications during childbirth is extremely high. But being overdue even back then was no indication that a baby would or would not be born. As the metaphorical collective mother of this RP we still have a chance to make something great.

I realize the metaphor kind of breaks down when you realize that we aren't in any danger of death by childbirth, and we have a bit more control over the metaphorical fetus than a literal mother does over the literal fetus, but I've spent too much time typing that not to use it anyways.

Anyways, I'll try to enliven the RP with another character soon, and (though only with CLIW's permission) make another interest check.
