Alright, so I had an idea that there are two ultimate blades.They were once wielded by two brothers who were kings of their realms. Their souls were merged to the weapon, forever infused basically making them immortal, just without a body or a host. When these blades are wielded, they would infuse their owner with the power of time and distortion (illusions, mind games, etc). A powerful king comes in contact with one of these blades, and now the world is in jeopardy.

Years later, there’s a blacksmith who studies the legend of the soul blades, and finally creates a much weaker version of them that works. These “pseudo blades” have special innate abilities that bind mechanically to the user, rather than spiritually. The king is raiding all of the villages and cities looking for the second Soul Blade

Here’s where we come in.
Some of our characters hold these pseudo blades (you can have the option to wield whatever sword, it doesn’t have to be one of the pseudo blades). Supposedly, when unified, the pseudo blades point to the hidden location of the final Soul Blade. The king knows this, and is now hunting the pseudo blades.

The pseudo blades are mechanically bound to the user and each possess a unique ability that you can create (in moderation and approval). Just let me know what you guys want or if this interests you. You guys can drop in ideas for powers for the blades, or for any other characters you might want to have that don’t control the blades.

Oh yeah, I'm sure the power of the pseudo blades will come into question, so how do you think it should be handled? I could create a set of blades and they could be taken on a first come first serve basis (and of course I will take any ideas into consideration), or would you rather create your own unique ability for each blade and have me okay it? It's up to the group, but I don't want the weapons to be too strong and I still want the enemies to be a bit of a challenge.

It would be rather cool if you choose the pseudo blades and based on the characters you get in this rp, assign them. Or you can do it on first come first serve basis. As the owner of the rp, you have the best idea what weapons should be like and yada yada.

I'm down for this, what will the world look like?

@Booba That would be pretty cool actually, as long as people were open enough. I imagine some people wouldn't like being told what to RP with though.

@Zeion I was thinking it would be something similar to a final fantasy world where some places are much more technologically advanced than others. While there are still villages that are fairly undeveloped, there could be a few metropolises (including the King's home area) that would be more advanced and incredibly technologically advanced, but still stylistically like a standard fantasy etc.

Awesome, I think 5 people sounds like enough to get the OOC going. And more people are always welcome with this setup, so hopefully a few more will come along. I'll get to working on that tomorrow and have it up in 1-2 days.

I'll lend my interest. I like the sound of this. The pseudo blades are also very similar to an idea me and a few friends developed for a game a few (lots) years ago, loosely called "name blades". Each sword had the soul of a demon (who lost its memories in the binding) trapped inside it. The swords could talk to the wielder telepathically and either help or counter the wielder depending on if the demon found him/her "worthy" or not. Worthy users could access some form of sword ability granted by the demon and become incredibly powerful.
