The circus, the home for the lost and damned. It has been around for many years, going from place to place, putting on a show. But, there was a dark secret to the show. At night, it becomes "Adult Only", and those who stay are treated to a night of hell. Those with evil hearts are hunted, like beast, until the sun comes up, a form of punishment, if you will. Those with good hearts are allowed to stay and join the hunt, or they can leave. Once they step off the circus grounds, they lose all memories of what happened there. Or, they are allowed to join the circus, helping as it goes from town to town, with a strange and powerful spell able to stop the performers from aging, until they left the show. It's been around for ages, the show, yet it has only had five ring masters.

Jericho awoke as the morning sun came in from his window. They had been on the road for a week or so, getting closer to their next town. He rubbed his eyes and rolled over to hold his wife, smiling as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, burying his face into her neck. "Mm, morning babe." He mumbled and gave her neck a soft kiss.

"Nooo." Mavis groaned sleepily, the warmth radiating from her husband only encouraged the dregs of slumber to pull her back under. Though her skin flushed as his lips sweetly sought her neck and his kiss tickled her flesh. With a soft smile she snuggled into him enjoying the brief moment of languidly that the mornings held. Soon it'd be more hustle and bustle as the troops enclosed on their newest spot.

Her eyes fluttered open as she turned to her husband, admiring his softness in this moment. "Surely it's not morning already?" Mavis pouted, ignoring the sunlight trailing inside their window. The night never lasted long enough though the thought of arriving in a new town always did set her heart aflame. Even after all these years; Mavis still never lost her passion for the circus. She had come so far since she was a girl, though she felt she owed most of her success to her husband.

He chuckled and nodded. "I'm afraid it is." He said and rolled out of the bed. He started to get dress and looked over to her. "We should be getting into town soon. Do we need to resupply or do you think we are good for abit longer?" He asked her as he grabbed a shirt and put it on, giving Mavis a quick kiss as he passed the bed.

"Hmm, we should be OK but I'll go into town anyway and pick up some extra treats," Mavis lounged where her husband once lay; enjoying the warmth he left behind. She could hear the voices of their crew stir to life outside. Excitement clung to the mornings air as everyone was anxious to get settled down for the oncoming days. Mavis frowned slightly as she forced the covers off her. Icy fingers seized her where warmth once lay but Jericho was already up and moving it was only fair that she'd get up and do her part.

Enjoying his brief affection Mavis slid out of bed and began to rustle through her own things. "Did you know of the twina had a successful time passing out the flyers?"

The twins were the newest attraction seeing as they both stood at a staggering 7' 10". While they still had their normal jobs, as the newest members Mavis often sent them days in advance to market to the next town. Their height and pleasant nature's made them natural advocates. She'd also send them with a small bonus to enjoy themselves while they awaited for the circus to arrive, a thing that Mavis thought she was doing slyly but was partly sure Jericho knew about.

He nodded as he looked at her. "They did. Justin took them to town. Seems like the three of them are getting along just fine." He said.

His nephew, Justin, was a somewhat "recently" added performer to the show. He had only been there about a hundred years or so, and is still learning. But, his mastery over the show's beast was amazing, and he was friendly with the other performers.

"So, are we going to keep up the tradition of you and I making crazy, wild, love the night before opening night?" He joked and walked over to her, wrapping his arms around her and holding her close to him.

She couldn't help it as a chuckle escaped her lips. Relaxing into her husband for a moment before turning to face him, "You should know by now that it's bad luck to break tradition." Mavis teased as her gaze leveled with his. There was a familiar glint of mischief that glimmered in the depths as a smug smile pulled at her lips. Her frame was small against his; demure and fragile. Wrapping her arms around his neck; Mavis pulled herself up closer. Nuzzling her face into his neck before biting the flesh softly.

"Mnn, best wait until sundown I suppose," She murmured, enjoying his scent and warmth before breaking away, "Can't break tradition, can we?" She teased once more.

"Justin...do you think he's ready?"

Mavis' voice had taken on a more serious tone as worry furrowed her brow. He had been in the shadows for the past hundred years and while he seemed to take a natural grace to the life Mavis couldn't help but worry. Idly she chewed on her lower lip. Anxious fingers pulling at the loose fabric on her nightgown as she started towards her closet. Mavis kept two wardrobes. One for her part in some of the acts and the other for blending in with the common folk in town. Occasionally she'd even fill in on the more dangerous stunts when the performers were ill or even exhausted. Personally she preferred walking along the tight rope. In fact that was how she met Jericho all those centuries ago. The day she fell off in the middle of her audition. She had been sure they'd send her off but he spoke up for her. Seeing something in the runaway dancer.

"Yeah, I'm sure Justin is ready." He said and kissed her forehead. "This will be the first time he works with animals on his own for a show. I'm sure he is nervous, but nothing his loving aunt or uncle can't talk him down from." He smiled at her. "I'm sure he will just fine."

"How in the world are you doing that?" A clown asked, a small group of performers standing next to him.

"What? Eat an apple? Normally with my mouth." Justin said and took a bite.

"No, I mean sitting there with a bear." The clown said.

"Oh, that makes more sense." Justin said as he petted the bear. It's head was resting in Justin's lap, somewhat asleep. "It's an animal thing." Justin smiled at the group and took another bite.

The clown shook his head as Jericho and Mavis walked out of their tent. "Hey, your nephew is showing off again." The clown said, laughing abit.
