Eighteen years ago there was a great war between the Frost Giants and King Odin and his army, the Giants travelled to Midgard using their skills with ice magic to cause pain and suffering and wiped out a small village. Odin and his army managed to chase the Giants back to their own realm, Joutenhiem. There Odin defeated their king and took their power source so that they couldn't travel between worlds and harm anyone again, the weapon known as The Casket of Eternal Winters was locked away in the Weapons Vault beneath the palace and would remain there guarded at all times..

Though things always change, even though the Giants do not have their power source there are always other ways to travel between worlds. Ways that not even the Gate Keeper Heimdal knows about, they say that nothing escapes his watch but eventually it does. Once again Agard and Joutenhiem will be in a battle, but this time it has a new hero. Older Prince Thor, the God of Thunder equipped with the Mighty Mjolnir along with his friends can put a stop to them. But let's not forget about the younger Prince Loki, the master of magic and illusions. He may not look like a warrior but he can hold his own in a fight.

Now that the Giants have figured out a way into Asgard they are going to take back what's theirs and seek revenge on the one that took it.

-----

Currently Loki is in the training grounds sparing against another warrior with Odin watching close by, Loki held a sword in his hand and studied his opponent's moves. When he stepped forward and tried to attack Loki, Loki deflected it. It seemed that Loki had the upper hand, though his partner could just be going easy on him as he is the younger prince. Loki could tell right away that his sparring partner was holding back, "come on don't go easy on me!" He growled, "I know my father is watching and it's fine. Come at me!"

The man looked up at Odin before the king gave him a nod, the much larger man ran at Loki knocking him down. The whole session went on for a good hour and Loki was left on the ground, his partner helped him to his feet. "Never let your anger blind you little Loki," he told him before walking away.

Loki just brushed himself off and breathed out, "yeah whatever..If I was allowed to use my magic I'd have you on the floor," he spoke before putting the sword away and walking from the grounds.

"Owwwww..."

Rose hurt. All over. On the other hand, this grass she face-planted in was probably the best-smelling grass she had ever encountered. This was good, because she didn't think she could move right now. It would have been terrible to be lying face-down, unable to move, in grass that smelled like manure. It was warm, too--another good thing. The giant blue man that kidnapped her had felt like a block of ice... and when she bit his arm to make him let go, he tasted like frozen gym socks. Yuck.

The woman couldn't really remember much. It was a blur. A wall crashing in; a giant blue arm wrapping around her shoulders; a lot of kicking and screaming and a kaleidoscope of liquid colors, and then falling for a very long time. Come to think of it, she really ought to be dead. Maybe she was. Honestly, she'd expected the Hereafter to be a little more shiny... and a lot less painful.

She eventually found the strength to sit up, though it hurt like hell. The grass around her was smushed into a person-shaped indent, rather reminiscent of a crime scene body outline. She looked up, but could find no indication as to where she'd fallen from. She looked around. There were buildings all around, at once ancient and futuristic; there were carefully-tended trees in planters, and flowers she couldn't name growing in boxes and rows. Maybe this was some kind of park.

"...Hello?" she called, her voice echoing around the empty space. "Is anyone out there? Where am I?"

It wasn't long before a couple of palace guards were alerted of the stranger and quickly came to where she was, "you are trespassing on Asgard we need you to come with us." One of them told her quickly pulling her to her feet, they didn't say much after that they just walked her into the palace and down the halls. Other workers turned their attentions to the stranger and started whispering, 'who could this stranger be? What kind of danger does she pose?' Those were just the few questions that went through everyone's mind.

Loki caught the girl out of the corner of his eye and walked to the guards, "what is the meaning of this?" Loki asked, "there is no need to be so rough with her. She looks hurt," he told them. Loki looked at Rose, "sorry about them..They can be a bit brutish," he told her.

"Stand aside Loki we are taking her to your father," the guard spoke and pulled Rose past Loki and towards the throne room where Odin was standing. Loki followed behind. "My king, here is the stranger."

"Ow! Can we slow down a little? Please?" The guards paid no attention, but had to half-drag Rose through the palace halls. Her left ankle was swollen and useless, and every time she had to step on it she was nearly blinded with the pain. As a result, the splendor of the pantheon's citadel was lost to her.

Most of the denizens just whispered. The words were, to the woman's ears, stiffly formal and with a European-esque accent straight out of a fantasy movie. Finally, the forced march came to a brief halt. Rose caught a glimpse of green robes but didn't have the footing to lift her head for a good look. It was the commanding voice that caught her attention the most. It had authority. But apparently the guards didn't agree; she was going to see the king--whoever that was--without any medical attention.

She barely noticed a pair of massive golden doors as they were thrust open, before being tossed to the polished floor. Well, she supposed they didn't really mean to toss her so much as push her forward, but she'd unfortunately landed on her left foot and went sprawling on her face... again. Not exactly a polite curtsy. She looked up from her prone position and caught an intimidating view of a man on a throne. This must be the king. He looked like the sort of king that fought in the front of an army in a battle against ancient dragons or something; he even wore an eye-patch and armor.

"Uhhhhh...." Crap, what do I say?! "Uh... I'm not in America anymore, am I? Your Majesty," she added quickly, since that was what someone was supposed to say to kings.

"You are trespassing on Asgard," Odin spoke. "How in the worlds did a mortal end up here? Your kind are not suppose to step foot, so who exactly are you?" He asked clearly not happy about this situation, even though one much worse was about to take place.

Loki walked past Rose and stood next to Odin, "father you know that it's possible for mortals to end up in Asgard without them knowing. There have been portals that not even we know about," Loki spoke to him but Odin just raised his hand shushing the boy.

"I want to hear it from her Loki, this is a private manner. Go to your room I will take care of this," Odin sternly spoke to his younger son. Loki just nodded and lowered his head walking away.

Rose used the time allowed by the brief exchange to sit up and get a better view of things. For one thing she got more of a look at the person to whom the voice belonged. A prince, huh? You'd think guards would listen to princes, but she supposed there must be some kind of kingly order against trespassers that overruled princes. And now she at least knew a few things about the situation: she was trespassing in a place called Asgard, which apparently is inhabited by people who aren't mortal and run by a monarchy.

"So... uh... it's a funny story, really, Your Majesty," she began, scratching at her shoulder and not being quite brave enough to meet his gaze. "Well, not funny, funny. Weird-funny. I'm minding my own business at work, then this big blue guy crashes right through a wall and grabs me. And of course I'm not going to just take that, blue guy or not, so I bite him, and he drops me. Next thing I know, here I am. Uh, Your Majesty."

She fidgeted a little on the floor, wondering if accidental trespassing was judged the same as intentional trespassing. In fact, she had no idea how this place even worked. What were the rules? Was she breaking one right now without even knowing? She couldn't exactly stand up and bow. Maybe mortals were supposed to prostrate themselves on the floor? She probably got close enough to that by falling on her face...

Odin was listening to her she could just be making the whole thing up, though the mention of a big blue guy wasn't uncommon. He just took a deep breath, "guards just take her back to the bridge and make sure she gets to Midgard." He told them, "you will not speak of any of this."

Loki didn't leave he was just hiding behind a pillar before he stepped out, "father you should listen to her. They could have been Frost Giants, you and I both know that there are ways in and out of realms." He looked at Rose, "when they touched you did it feel like your arm was frozen?"

"Loki, I told you to go to your room. Why do you never listen to me?" Odin was clearly upset but even he knew that he should hear the girl out, if it was Frost Giants than there was a serious problem.

Rose nodded emphatically at the prince. Prince Loki--she filed the name away in her mind, along with the details provided by her talent.

"Yeah, it was like I was grabbed by an iceberg! I don't know how I managed to keep the wits to fight back. It was really shocking. Is that what a Frost Giant is, then?"

She was pulled to her feet by the guards and immediately whimpered in pain. She looked pleadingly up at Odin, about to ask for a doctor before being sent home, but instead three things popped up in her head all at once. She addressed the king with a sudden urgency.

"Umm, this is going to sound crazy, Your Majesty, but you need to put more guards around the... Casket? Whatever that is. An army's worth. In the next two minutes, unless time here runs differently."

Rose didn't know how she got these 'insights'. She instinctively knew things by looking at people's faces: what they needed and by when. She knew things about people they didn't know themselves. Sometimes it was helpful, but most of the time it was just creepy. And since situations changed second by second, often what someone needed in the morning was entirely void by the afternoon. But sometimes, like now, the information hit her with a certain weight...

Before Odin could respond there was a lot of commotion, Giants already invaded the palace and made their way to the weapons vault taking out anyone who got into their place. A guard ran into the palace, "my lord Giants have invaded the palace." He instructed, "I have already dispatched more."

Loki didn't say anything before running away from the throne room and headed towards the weapons vault, he had never seen a Giant up close before only seen them in stories. He was going to defend the palace, "Loki!" Odin yelled, he looked towards Rose. "You brought them here, this is your doing." He shook his head, "send as many guards as needed. Get to Loki before they touch him," he told the guard who nodded and ran off.

"I... what?! No! I was only...!" Rose stammered as the guards clapped a hand over her mouth and dragged her from the throne room. Presumably at this point she was headed for the dungeons, not home. Guards ran past in the opposite direction as the palace rumbled under the strain of the battle.

They tossed her in a small, dark room somewhere underground, and locked the metal door.

"Please, come back! What's happening! I didn't mean to do anything!" I was only trying to help...
