Kyle was still pretty upset, so Kyle basically ignored Alexis. It didnt help his mood when he noticed Alexis was smiling. Kyle realized he sucked at giving out punishments. He sighed and waited for Alexis to leave. When she did, Kyle went back to work. He knew that while they had nearly avoided a disaster, they werent out of the woods yet. Crops would take time to grow, and they would need to take better care of them than before. He was surprised that it took this long for the crop fields to go bad, but he assumed it had something to with the radiation or some other phenomenom that made the fields last longer.
Kyle suddenly snapped back into focus, realizing he had been day dreaming. Some of the farmers had been laughing at him, and other tribespeople were chuckling at him as well. They knew their leader tried hard, but he was still young. Kyle blushed slightly but then began dramatically acting like he had not been slacking, and getting back to work. Kyle looked around and realized that Ranna had left, Toakala had left, Alexis had left, armor man suit guy was nowhere to be seen, and hopefully the librarian was not near here. Kyle was not scared of much but he knew that even if he was the leader, the librarian would not hesitate to smack him around.
Kyle stretched and decided to call it a night. Kyle shouted at the top of his lungs that it was the end of the work day. He usually did not do this but what the hell, he did not wanna work so he decided no one should have to either. Whoops and cheers were heard, and Kyle beamed proudly. He was so cool, Kyle thought to himself. Kyle walked back to his building, the main office building. Kyle was about to walk inside and go to his room, when realized he had almost forgotten a few things. Kyle walked around Obsidians perimeter, checked in with all the guards on duty tonight, and walked over to the food hall. The food hall, basically the dining hall, was actually a long time ago the Apartement Gym room. But all the old machines had been moved, and since the walls were also giant mirrors, it was decided that to prevent people from sneaking food, that the room with big mirrors so everyone can see what everyone was doing would be the cafeteria. Now the room was filled with tables, chairs, and cooking ware. Most of the food is prepared right behind the building, so that they could have fire to cook.
Kyle walked in and tried to grab some light food but was nearly attacked by the cooks. When he was younger he would sneak small things, like apples, out of the dining hall and it infuriated the tribe. His father always laughed it off, and sent him to work with the librarian as punishment. But now the cooks are wary of Kyle, and do not let his leadership position get him whatever he wanted. Kyle was allowed to take two apples, and was forced out. The cooks knew that Kyle knew that meal times were 0900, 1300, and 1730. Kyle laughed and ran out with his small prizes. Kyle was about to take a bite of his apple when he realized that Ranna probably did not know the schedule yet. Then Kyle thought "OH SHIT" because he forgot to get her moved into an actual room. Kyle rushed over to her temporary room, one apple in his mouth and the other in his right hand, and knocked on her door.
Ranna had walked down to the bench she had sat on earlier. She hoped that the other tribe members were friendlier than Tokala had been. She couldn't for the life of her figure out what she had done to get that kind of an icy reception but he seemed to intently dislike her.
Ranna's back was not letting up so she did the only thing she could think to do. She went to Kyle's office and found a couch to lay on. It wasn't much better laying down so she got up and went into the bathroom and turned the hot water on in the shower. Closing the door she stripped and got in to stand with the hot water pelting her back as hot as she could stand it.
Kyle waited for a few minutes, probably longer than he should have, then figured she might have actually learned when dinner chow was so Kyle walked back to his room. On the way there Kyle ran in to Tokala, and they exchanged friendly words. He also saw Alexis on the way and gave her a warning that she needed to rest and that she was still in trouble. They exchanged words, and went on their way. Kyle walked back to the main office building, and gave a two finger salute to the two guards posted.
"Hey guys, thanks for a good job today. Im not going to be leaving my room for the rest of the night, so make sure no one disturbs me. Unless someone dies, or has a baby, or catches on fire. Or get caught having sex with an animal. Then tell me."Kyle shook his head remembering the incident from a few months ago. That guy was a fucking idiot. He died, his genitals being bitten off and he bled out, and it served as a constant reminder. You slay animals, not "Slay" animals. Kyle was about to walk into his room when he heard the shower being run. Who the fuck was in his shower? Kyle quietly crept inside his room, walked over, and pulled aside the shower curtains.
Ranna screamed and punched him knocking him down on the floor. She grabbed the towel and covered herself.
"What the hell is wrong with you? You don't give me a place to go so when I use your shower you just think it's ok to burst in? GET OUT!"
Kyle held his nose in one hand, and covered his eyes with the other. Both apples were on the ground, and Kyle tried to get out of his room. Kyle bumped into his nightstand, his bed, his desk, and his wall before he got out of his room. Kyle leaned against the wall that was next to the door of his room, and sat down.
"Sorry Ranna! My bad!"Ranna got out of the bathtub and closed the door and fixed the shower curtain. Not quite ready to get out of the hot water but not sure she hadn't broken his nose she turned the water off. A few minutes later she was dressed and she came out of the bathroom and sat on the floor next to him and sighed.
"Did I break it?" She said looking at his face. She smiled softly trying not to giggle. "Nope, it's still there and not falling over sideways so I guess you are good." She blushed. "So how much did you see?" She stared at his face embarrassed by what she saw there.
Kyle slightly blushed but did not show how nervous he was. He kept his calm and compsure.
"Nah I did not see a thing. Truly, your naked flesh was masked by a mysterious mist. Clouds made from the fresh water hitting your flawless skin."Kyle said this while poking his nose. He felt it like it had its own heartbeat, but it wasnt bleeding, just sore.
"May the creator have mercy on my soul for nearly peeking at a form more lovely and forbidden than the apple that hung from the first tree."Ranna grinned and took his hand in hers and leaned sideways against him. "So you think I'm lovely and forbidden with flawless skin huh?" She teased him. "I can live with that." She moved and her back was still sore. "I pushed my back too much today. It's killing me, that is why I was in your shower to begin with. I pulled some muscles and the heat was good for it. I can't get up though. Help me up?"
Kyle chuckled and looked her in the eyes. They were an adorable light blue, and Kyle nearly lost his words. Kyle quickly stood up and pulled Ranna up with him. As she stood, their faces became only inches apart from each other. Kyle took a step back and cleared his throat.
"Yea no it's fine. I get it go ahead and go soak in the shower. It will help. I will have your room set up by tommorow. Honestly I did not expect ypu to want to stay so soon. But for now, if you want, I have some stuff that might help your back. Traded it with another group of people that passed by here but did not want to stay. We gave them some food, and they gave us some really cool stuff. I was able to trade one of my personal belongings for it. Its something called a 'ointment' and it is suppose to soothe aches and pains."Ranna looked at him and asked, "So how am I going to get this stuff rubbed on my back? Are you going to help me with it?" She loved watching him squirm as he thought of an answer.
Kyle sighed dramaticaly and put his hand to is head, and looked off to the side.
"If I must fair maiden. I am willing to help out in whatever way I can."Ranna grinned and said with a knowing smirk, "Oh I'm sure." She cringed and said I'll be right back." She went back into the bathroom and a moment later she came out with a towel covering her top half so nothing was exposed but everything was accessible for the medication. She looked around and went towards the bed and lay on it on her stomach making sure her breasts were covered completely. "Okay I'm ready." She pulled her blond locks to the side so they wouldn't get in the way.
Kyle walked into his room and over to his nightstand. He pulled the drawer out and grabbed a small bottle with no label on it. It had what looked like a clear liquid in it. Kyle knelt next to Ranna and put some of the ointment on his hands. He rubbed his hands together and started to massage Rannas bare back. Kyle tried to keep his eyes on the wall in front of him, but his eyes kept wandering over to Rannas bare skin. Kyle started at Rannas lower back, gently rubbing her lower back at first, then applying a slight bit of pressure. Kyle then started to move up on Rannas back, massaging small parts of Rannas back at a time.
Ranna was so tense in her back that she was really noticing that Kyle was pretty good at massages. She tried not to groan when he hit a tender spot but she couldn't always stop herself. It started to relax her a lot. "You are pretty good at this massaging thing." She said. Ranna noticed his hand getting a little closer than he should the further up he went and she wondered if he would catch himself before she had to say something. She was glad he couldn't see her face she was trying not to giggle as it was beginning to tickle, alot.
Kyle kept massaging further and further up, and started to slide to her sides. not all the way, he did not touch anything but he was tempted. Kyle retracted his hands slightly, but noticed she was slightly shaking. Not out of fear, not out of anger. He was almost at a lost when he had a thought. Maybe she was....ticklish? Kyle began slightly tickling her sides, very gently.
Ranna couldn't hide it and he hit one of her worst ticklish spots and she moved and his other hand hit one too. Ranna couldn't help it the more she laughed and jerked away from his hands the more ticklish she became and she laughed harder. "Kyle!" she shrieked laughing.
Kyle slowly stopped tickling Ranna, but smiled heartily the entire time. As Kyle began slowing down his tickling terror, he started to slowly wrap his arms underneath Ranna's body. Kyle made every notable effort to avoid touching her cleavage, and with a flick of his arms, Ranna was soflty flipped around with her towel still on her chest. Kyle then began tickling Ranna even more.
"Listen,"Kyle said jokingly
,"Ancient tribe secret massage art. very very serious."Ranna was smiling softly, her eyes bright and happy. When he tickled her more the laughter got louder and she started to tickle him back. She was enjoying their fun and eventually she couldn't catch her breath from laughing so hard.
Kyle laughed, laughed more than he had in a while. In front of the others he would laugh, but it was all theatrics. Ryun was the only other person he felt like he could truly laugh around, and Tokala was a close second. Alexis was not someone who laughed often or at all until recently, and Mark.....was just an unhappy fella. Kyle stopped tickling Ranna, letting them both catch their breaths, until Kyle looked Ranna in the eyes and decided that he shoudl go for it. Kyle leaned in and kissed Ranna.
Ranna kissed Kyle back a little unsure at first but it quickly escalated to passion as she realized he wasn't pulling back. Ranna got caught up in the moment and her towel disappeared but she didn't even really notice. Ranna's mind took control again as soon as he touched the top of her pants. She sat up breathing hard and put a hand on his chest. "Wait...we can't.....I don't think we can...we can, but we shouldn't yet. I've never... " she grabbed her top and put it on a little shyly.
Kyle stopped to catch his breath after Ranna pulled away. Kyle ran his hands through his hair, pushing it backwards, and he closed his eyes.Kyle got off the bed and walked towards the wall on the other side of his room. He put his hand on the wall and leaned on it.
"No your right. I am the leader of the Obsidian Tribe. I can not allow myself to.....be left vulnerable like this in times like these. Too much at stake, too much at risk."Kyle sighed.
"Look I wont say Im sorry, because i am not. You obviously felt something too. And i am not ashamed of it. Doing something like this now, it has different repurcussions since im the leader, as opposed to when I was'nt the leader. "Kyle walked over to his desk and pulled out a slip of paper wth some writing on it. He walked over to Ranna and set it on the bed. Then Kyle sat down, not on the bed but against it, right next to the spot that Ranna was sitting up on.
"I was...uh..that is the apartment building number and room number that was going to be your permanent room. I forgot..sorry. I mean you can sleep wherever you want I guess but you have a room now.""Being leader has nothing to do with it! Leaders have families. You are allowed to have a life as a leader. I was raised to be a wife of a leader and I've been raised a certain way and I've never broken that even though I am not a part of my old life anymore. I wanted to and I'm not sorry either but you are making me feel....rejected." Ranna took the paper and walked outside trying to hold herself together and read it in the dark.
Kyle stayed sitting, not sure what to say or do. She may not have realized it, but the leader of any kind of tribe or clan, someone who is responcible for the safety of all his or her own people, they have to be responsible. He didnt reject Ranna, but he was disappointed in himself that he let it go that far. He could not be a leader who passed on his seed carelessly. When he was just another tribesmen, he did whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted. And yes he did go as far as lay with many different women, from his tribe and others, but he was fortunate enough never to pass on his seed. This was different though. He was their leader now, and he had been careful enough not to even come close to facing the danger of passing his seed in years. He chose to do this because his son or daughter would be in more danger than anyone knew. And how would it look if the young leader, only a few years into his position, had knocked someone up. The librarian used to lecture him, how in the past people used these things called protection to shield themselves and prevent the passing of seed, but since they were no longer around it was much more likely to happen.
Kyle raised himself up and threw himself into his paper work on his desk. He still had shift rosters to look over, development plans, promotions, punishments, etc etc to look over. That was when he realized that Ranna would not be able to get into her building. He had forgotten to give her the key.
Ranna couldn't see what the paper said in the dark and Kyle forgot to give her the key. Ranna sighed heavily. She didn't want them to leave it this way. If they did they might ruin something that could still blossom into something beautiful. She walked back inside the door and closed it behind her.
She walked over to him as he was sitting at his desk and sat on his lap and looked into his eyes. "I'm not saying no, I'm saying not yet. I'm not ready yet." She kissed him again more passionately then before and she murmured. "but god I want to be."
Kyle kissed Ranna back and tried to be as serious as possible.
"I agree. I did not mean to come off as rejecting. I just have to be careful. So...I guess you could say that both are not ready."Ranna looked at him and put one hand on his cheek. "I was raised to be the wife of someone in your exact position. I am your equal and I don't want to throw that away to just be some ordinary girl. So promise me that we won't let our chances at happiness together end with tonight. Ok?"
Kyle nearly broke out into laughter when Ranna finished speaking. The stress of Ranna leaving the way she did, and the stress of the paper work on his desk suddenly ebbed away. Kyle grinned ear to ear and hugged Ranna tightly.
"What? the The princess does nto want to be one with the commoners? How scandolous? Fear not my princess,"Kyle said giggling with every breath that was not used for speaking
,"I will not let tonight be our only night. I shall take you as my princess one day and announce you as my queen, the Obsidian Queen!"Ranna was trying not to laugh but she was not succeeding very well. "Quit laughing at me. You know what I mean." She laughed as she hugged him and said "That almost sounded like a proposal you know. You should be careful how you say things. If I were another girl I might be leaping for joy over it at the moment." She smirked and kissed him on the nose. Ranna looked at him and couldn't help but blush a little.
Kyle twitched his nose a little after Ranna kissed his nose, then sighed slightly. He tightened his grip around Ranna.
"But serious time, there is something I need from you and you wont like it.""What do you need from me?" She asked curiously.
"I need you to keep "us" a secret for now. I....I rejected Alexis, and there are plenty of other women in the tribe who have their eye on me. Plus the elders of the tribe have been rumored to gossip amongst themselves, trying to decide for me who I shall end up with. Look I am not asking this because I am ashamed, but you are new here. Besides the fact that our tribal politics are slightly different than your tribes were, most likely, right now your still a stranger to the tribe. It would look really bad on you if you arrive one day, then walk out arm in arm with the leader."Kyles face fell crestfallen slightly, but his eyes remained locked on to Ranna's eyes.
Ranna's voice was quiet..."I already knew you rejected Alexis. It was fairly obvious. I'm not concerned with what other women want when it comes to their
relationships. You are right. We are strangers really....but in our culture sometimes we marry strangers because it is arranged. I almost did. I don't know how being seen with my equal would be a bad thing in any culture."
Ranna looked at him and nodded. "I won't say anything." She stood up and walked to the door and turned around. "I need my key please."
Kyle grabbed her room key, and another small key along with it. Kyle stood up and walked over to Ranna, kissing her gently. Kyle placed both keys in her hand.
"Big key is your room, small key is a spare to mine. Come by whenever you want."@wick@irishangelqueen@ashevelendar@blackpanther@spades slick@delta44
