You notice through the doorway that out in the hall, the previously locked door to the clinic office room is wide open. From what little you see of the inside of that room, blood stains the wall.

I looked over at the office door and then back at the doctor. I raised my ax and brought it back down in the center of his head. I just wanted to be sure. I didn't know the rules of these things. Were they like the classic zombie where if you get bitten you get infected? If so, then I definitely did not want him to bite me while I was busy searching through the office...

I turned around and walked down the hallway to the office door. I noticed the bloodstains on the walls of the office. I slowly and cautiously stepped into the room, doing my best to ensure that nothing got the jump on me.

The blood stain on the wall lacked any corpse to hint at where it was from, but at the back of the room in front of the blood spatter was a desk. An old desktop and a shiny key sat on top of this desk. On the ground in front of this desk lay a .357 revolver.

Aside from the blood stain, everything was so clean. The walls were totally white, and only a single painting for decor. Across from the painting was a window, through which only the black of night was visible.

I walked over to the desk and picked up the .357. I never shot a gun before, I didn't know much about them. But I did play a game once that described this sort of gun. It's supposed to be a hand cannon. If someone inexperienced were to use it and not be prepared for the recoil, or even be strong enough to take it, it could easily dislocate a person's arm. I'd only use this if absolutely necessary. I mean, ammo'll be difficult to find, I'll have a finite amount of ammo.

I tucked the revolver and the key into my pocket and then accessed the desktop. Hopefully it was linked to the internet. If so, I could get a message out there. Hopefully someone could come and rescue me...

With no more than the tapping of a key, the main screen comes on. But its not booted to a typical homescreen. Its booted to a page with a symbol of a gray shield decorated with three jewels in a diagonal pattern. Above the symbol reads "Maniacles." There are a couple icons: A recycling bin, an icon for files, and an icon labeled "database." There doesn't seem to be any internet explorer or google chrome, or any typical internet icons on the page, but at the bottom right of the screen, the connection symbol is lit up, to imply internet access.

"Alright... great. No apparent internet applications..." I sighed and sat down in the chair and began to go through what little I could access in the hope that something might be hidden away in another file or maybe that one of these programs might actually be an internet application, or open access to one.
