History: Beginning of times known… There was nothing but ash, times where life was not known and dark and light mended as one. Time did not exist. This was until the Titans were born, Titan Oric was born of ash, he was lord of fire and light, Titan Iris, the Mistress of Darkness and all thing evil, she was born of shadow and thrown into life. Oric and Iris married and then was born the race of Giants, with the three elder sons, brother Arc-Lords to rule them all. Drogosh, Lord of the sky. Nrogosh, Lord of the lands, and Arcgosh, King of the giants. They ruled equally and the giants worshiped them like gods. As the line of giants windled the Arc-Lords begged their mother Titan Iris for Immortality, the mistress, twisted, did not recognize her own and gave them immortality. Imprisoned in stone. Deep underground on the east lay the three lords frozen in time.
Coming of Races… The Etlocks were the end ancestry of the race of giants, The Children of Giants as they are mostly known. These young long humanoid creatures were the first to make civilization after the age of the giants and they ruled the land for centuries after. The king of Etlockbarv, Old-One Kol, lived in the last dying generation of Giants, and is believed to have the most ancient knowledge of anyone in the land. From ash of the old Titan lord Drogosh was born the Humans and Dwarf. Elven were born of nature, thought to be Titan Nrogosh’s gift to the land, to have it prosper and be maintained. Humans quickly prospered, as being born from Titan ash gave them great arcane knowledge and power. Dwarfs were not as lucky. As The Great war began Kol rained Dark Blood Magic from the heavens killing and plaguing most of the races in which the Dwarf race twisted and turned into dark demonic and twisted creatures called Kiln, they were cursed to eternity of darkness. Though they did not suffer the worst of fates as they only suffered physical changes. No. The ones who suffered the most were those that the Blood Magic had killed, the rotted and turned into the Undead, not to live nor die. Shame of what he had done and feelings of corruption drove Kol to shutting off Etlockbarv to all outsiders, only Etlock can get in and out.
The Great war…. The greatest war there ever was on Terecoths land. Pinning all the races agaisnt each other, a great civil war. At this time, many humans had become corrupt under rule of the King Dolvir, a madman who sought to bring all glory and power to himself. He started with the elves, he brought them out of their villages and forced them into labor. His Royal men sent to take slaves, kill those who oppose, and rape the innocent. Many in Drovia followed blindly as they believed that Humans were the Titans true form and therefore shall be the only to prosper. Only a mere 5 years after the war had started the majority of Elvish settlers were driven to slavery in Drovia or were driven deep into the Myer Forest where they had to begin their new life. King Dolvir created a band of Assassins the hunt Elvish leaders and as the Kiln and Etlock began to stop selling goods to the corrupted kingdom, them as well. These assassins were nicknamed Dark Hunters, or Hunters, they were known for showing up with heads every day. As the war began to die down the Kiln were forced, in a last attempt by the now old King Dolvir for power, into underground. The Etlocks continued their solitude and as the King died the Human capital of Drovia struggled to find a new king fit to follow. A young man named Darion Xion stepped forward. Under his rule, the kingdoms would become united again, only struggling as problems will never fade, yet united. King Darion decided not to disband the Assassins as he felt they could prove useful, 10 years of reconstruction, he created the Hunters guild, devoted to keeping the land safe, from all creators and corruption.

Ruled under the Kind-King Darion, they rule most of the land in Terecoth. Most live off of farm work or for generations that have been in the Hunters guild. Notable for their religious aspects and knowledge of the arcane powers. .
Elves are known to be slaves or to be discriminated against, but yet they are strong willed and live on equally to other races, or at least as much as they can. Elves are known for sharp ended ears and tall structured bodies. They are commonly seen as Archers and Druids, as they are one with nature. .
Etlocks are fair built and a large race, most males and females standing at the end of the 6 foot range, they are strong but physically and Intellectually. They are one of the oldest races on Terecoth, and are known commonly to be brutes or Dark mages. .
Kiln are small intelligent creatures, often looked down upon since they are seen as corruption. But the Dwarfs were a strong race that has carried into the Kiln, they are small and agile, most ranging in the lower 5 foot range, they make great thieves and Warlocks. .
Undead - The Race between life and death, the desperate starved ghouls, noble vampires, screeching banshees, These and more live in The Burg. The dead has been given a second chance, to come back and make a difference, or simply die again. The reasons each to their own to accept this gift from their ruler. Most tend to stay in walled off city The Burg and under the watchful eye of their new leader. The undead hold land to the far west regions of Telecoth. The main enemy of the Human race. The only race that are not part of the Hunters Guild.
If you would like to add a custom race for your Hunter, PM me the races name and a short Backstory on them and I'll let you know if I accept it.
A huge kingdom founded by the first Humans, Huge walls and large towers, highly guarded and the economic capital for all races. Built into three squares, the Kings square, where the main hall is found and the throne. Merchants square, where the mall can be found to find the blacksmith and food vendors and many tailors. Than the largest square, the town's square, where all the houses are found, the living quarters where children can be found playing in the roads and is below the reach where the Kings square is. Drovia is also the home of operations for the Hunters Guild.
The Kingdom of the trees deep in the Myer Forest, many bridges connecting trees allowing easy access for the Elves to roam about the trees. This also allows for the watch of enemies, the Capital is less protected but not easily spotted and not many other then the Elves that reside there know of where to look for it. The living quarters for the people there are spread through many trees and many trees are dedicated to shops or to bowers, tailors, taverns. The main source of income is the animals that they hunt.
The Great Kingdom of the Unknown, many have only seen the gates or the land that lies before it. The Etlocks are not fond of outsiders, they do not let other step foot into their gates. The city although is made up of two squares, where the town lies and where the shops are. They are ruled by The Old-One King Kol, a mighty and knowledgeable figure, of the oldest in Terecoth. They are known for their weapons, and ability to make them, and that is what they sell to the humans to make their money.
A huge underground tunnel system made up of many openings and dead ends made to confuse intruders. Though narrowly guarded the city has the best defense because of its lay out. Much of the reason that the Kiln ended up underground was self choice, they did not want to be part of the outside world. Many circles are dedicated to the worship of Hist and many circles are dedicated to military training. The main income for them is hunting and scavenging the land.
A City of black stone, Green fire lights it's streets, the stench of death cover it's streets, in the center is the hall of the dead. Hidden beneath the earth under old ruins filled with traps. only those who are dead know the safe way in and out, but those who seek adventure usually find death... only to become a servant of the dead
Villages outside of major cities: There are many settlements outside of the major cities of mixed population ranging from just outside the walls of Drovia to the longest reaches of the land and Island towns. Custom villages for backstories are accepted.

Rules: 1. All weapons and powers are of equal power, this being said yes there will come a time where the use of someone's power or weapon will be key so that all characters are needed in the Hunters. 2. Romance between characters is OK as long as there is consent from each person. Keep it PG-13, if needed, the spice can be taken to PM. 3. No speed posting, let a few people past after you keep the story smooth and everyone feel involved. 4. There are ranks in the Monster Hunters guild but the Headmaster Ash NPC (who I will control) will let you know when you have ranked up. 5. Notify us if you are going to be absent for a long period of time, RP is required of others posts to keep the story going so if you are not going to be here then it can put a block on the story. 6. On that note if you do plan to leave the RP permanently PM me. 7. And As always have fun, its RP, escape into the world of Terecoth, after all Hunter, there are Nightmares that need to be slayed.
The premise of this RP is that we will be the Hunters in the Hunter's Guild and will follow a story for that.
If there are any suggestions, PM me, I am always open to new Ideas.
I guess it's time for me to get into this little group of Hunters.
Closest thing to a true dwarf in this setting!
Name: Jameson Privy Age: 36 (Humanly speaking) Gender: Male Race: Etlocks Appearance: Jameson is a younger Etlocks man, cursed with dwarfism so he's about 3'11". His facial features include a large black beard, coming down to the bottom of his neck, he wears a top hat, and has a long tattoo on the side of his face. His body structure is of course, short, but it's very resilient from damage. He is built like a truck, and made to last a while. His clothing includes a hooded cloak atop a button-up white shirt, and a pair of khaki trousers.
Privy was rather doomed from the start, as he was born very short and was ridiculed by any and all of his companions and colleagues. The first day of school was tough when you're a short kid, and nobody really liked how he was so secretive and shy. This continued for the man until he reached a maturation point, where he discovered that he can cast his fair share of magic. This enlightened his life and he went to learn how to cast more and more spells, eventually leading to recognition as a mage. Unfortunately, his luck ran out when he started trying to cast certain spells and ended up casting a different spell (One time he tried freezing a tree and ended up igniting it). While this would probably depress some magic users, Privy was rather excited about it, and began to start taking a stage name and becoming a children's entertainer, putting on magic shows and making kids laugh. It was fun for a long time, and eventually he caught wind of the Hunters Guild accepting new recruits, and eagerly went to go join and help kill things as the great magician he was destined to be.
Personality: Privy speaks in a Russian accent, and enjoys making people laugh and smile. He doesn't like to think his disability is a weakness, rather as a motivator for his success in the future. He is also friends with an war battle axe.
Weapon skill/choice: He has an enchanted war axe, but he never uses it. He instead likes to use his fists as his main weapons.
This is a sentient war axe named Cliff, and is a very strict pacifist. It has the ability to speak on it's own will, and also float around on it's own will as well, but that's literally it.
Notable ability: Privy is a self-proclaimed Magician. As stated before, Privy has become a master of magic, but has lost the ability to accurately predict his spells when he casts them, so it's sort of random. He knows one spell that he can accurately cast on his own, and that is a defensive armor spell, and is casted when Privy exclaims he is armoring up.
Other Info: Cliff the war axe and Privy have been buds for the longest time, and as such are inseparable.
@BananaFun character. It sounds like you really want to play a Dwarf, why don't you? I mean Madly33 said that the game is open to custom races, you just have to PM him.
Do you have anymore information on Magic for this setting? I've read over all the characters and can see that magic is a little different for each one that uses it.
@ShidenBlades Humans and Etlocks are the more prominent Magi, but Etlocke deal in darker magic, and humans more arcane. Elves are magical, but are more into Druidism. But feel free to make a unique character just include why I'm their bio.
I should have phrased my question better. My apologies.
I meant to ask about specific lore in regards to magic. Since worlds often have a way magic is cast attached to them. Forgotten Realms being one example, Wheel of Time being another and then anything written by Brandon Sanderson having their own magic system.
Basically, I don't want to write something that complete contradicts what someone else says. That's just no fun.
@ShidenBladesOkay I believe I know what I mean, please correct me if I'm just completely misunderstanding, but magic comes more from knowledge, as it more comes from the realms arcane. It's learned through the ages as spells that are said (so the natural fantasy type) although some have been able to use magic to their advantage while passing the need to speak spells, master mages can do this, casters who use staffs can channel spells easier this way, and as seen in characters such as. Polaris North's character Javier, he focuses on dark magic because there fore most likely will not need to speak spells.
