Perhaps the skill levels we have could come into play for such events. Set required successes and/or a Threshold Number, and have the ability in skill (Expert, Adept, Novice etc.) change the Threshold Number or the required amount of successes accordingly. This way such events wouldn't have to rely on pure chance.

In a fair face-to-face fight, I'd say Farid and Dax are matched more or less equal. 50/50 is good enough, and everything is fair game as long as Dax doesn't die (or severely disabled).

On a side note, we do kinda need to keep Leif alive for the duel with DK...which I kinda forgot about, so I'm cool if Dax wants to take his place. Plus it would give us some insight to see how Dax fights, and acts as a character ;D

Schaft's in charge of this but here's what I can tell you.

The company leaders have decided to punish Farid by: a, forcing him to pay a fee (which he probably can't afford) and exiling him; b, gives him a chance to dispute the sentence by dueling Ashav's representative. Farid chose the latter.

Farid did save Tsleeixth's life in Windhelm, so would he be that eager for an execution?

Normally he wouldn't be but Tsleeixth is rather angry/disgusted with Farid for, what he sees, as a betrayal within/towards the company. Argonians are big on loyalty after all, so I don't think it'd sit well with him how Farid basically murdered Orakh in cold blood. Perhaps if he had confronted the Orc more openly, challenged him to a duel, he wouldn't be so angry.

EDIT: Also, wasn't Keegan the one that saved Tsleeixth's life in Windhelm?

P.S. I'm hoping he doesn't lose a hand if he loses. I'd rather him still be able to shoot a bow. Maybe lose some fingers he might be able to grow back.
