Verstand was sitting at a table in the Tower Archives as his name was called over the loudspeakers. His metallic body was limp, head planted onto the table, a number of exotic weapons sprawled out around him. A long scopeless sniper rifle with a smoking barrel was in his hands. It appears he had killed himself with it. The other occupants of the archives, mostly Cryptarchs and Warlocks ignored the corpse. His Ghost looked down at the Exo's body and emitted a bright light, bringing his Guardian back to this mortal coil.

"So, how did being shot by No Land Beyond feel, Verstand?" The Ghost asked his recently revived friend.

The Exo's bright blue eyes glowed once more and the machine rose from his seat and groaned. Despite being just about immortal at the Tower, death still felt rather painful. "I feel... a sense of embarrassment, being killed by that gun. Remind me to put it in the Tower Armory later, way in the back under all the Hakke weapons. No one will find it there. That gun should never see the light of day, let alone the light of the Traveler."

"Will do, also, you were called to the Vanguard, by Zavala. Moving up in the world, are we?"

"Why would he need us?" He asked, starting to make his way toward the Vanguard. "I haven't worked with them for several months now."

"Extensive knowledge on what being shot feels like?" His Ghost let out a chuckle.

Verstand shrugged. "Someone needs to, and the knuckle-draggers in the Crucible do not care much for conversation. They don't like it when I ask them about being killed repeatedly."

"Forgot to mention, we weren't the only ones being called. Apparently, a few other Guardians were called as well. We should wait outside for them."

"Agreed. I don't like talking to the Vanguard alone, anyways." He said, approaching the stairs leading down into the Hall. He started pacing as he tried to look back on why Zavala of all people would call for him. He certainly hoped that it wouldn't be any field assignments. It had been much too long since his last one, which was not a pleasant experience to say the least.

"Incoming! Get behind me, now!"

A swelling surge of condensed Arc energy vomited forth from an assaulting Hive Knight's Boomer and made headway for a group of organised Guardians. The Fireteam comprised of four wielders of the Traveler's Light though each was uniquely special in their own right. There was Zack, a recently reborn Gunslinger Hunter whom also as of late, learned of his key talent of the Golden Gun. Howl-23, a Warlock whom also had been just days ago blessed and imbued with revitalizing Light back into his near-human inner works had quickly grasped the concepts of the devastating Void infused Nova Bomb; a feared skill only native to the Voidwalkers. Then there was Sonya the Titan, while also being relatively new to her contemporary life as a Guardian had already mastered her innate abilities as a Striker; specifically the fearsome Fist of Havoc.

But the forth member of the group was far more experienced and intimidating in physical being compared to his newborn counterparts and was perhaps the sole factor of attention the Knight and its own cronies of Acolytes and Thralls were more concerned with. Simon was also a Guardian and a Titan as well but unlike his troupe of recruits still wearing nothing but their durable bodysuits and scavenged cloth and robes their own Ghosts had put together, he was fully armored from head to toe, seals and insignias of the Vanguard and the Lords of the Iron Banner engraved into the finely shaped Plasteel covering his body.

Just before the Arc-based mortar could connect, Simon summoned the Light within him and casted a great dome of Void energy around his team, known as the Ward of Dawn. The round fired from the Knight's Boomer impacted the bubble and dispersed harmlessly as it's own energies were converted and then generated into Orbs of Lights. In stubborn frustration, the Hive doubled their efforts and charged forward at the seemingly trapped, discharging more Arc mortars and now Void darts at the Defender's barrier as a swarm of Thrall made a mad dash for the Guardians, the lanky and skeletal-like abominations hungry for their Light.

"On my signal, back out of the bubble as fast as you can! I'm going to bring them all in one spot. Understood?" said Simon while he maintained his Ward of Dawn.

"Yes, sir!" the other Guardians respectively confirmed in unison.

Despite their own decrepitness, the Thralls were ever-surprisingly nimble and in no time were already on top of the barrier, lunging at the Guardians within and wanting nothing more but to tear them apart.

"Now!" ordered Simon once the first Thrall's hideous maw phased through the Ward.

Zack quickly Blinked out from existance while Howl-23 and Sonya jumped out with haste, leaving only Simon as the bubble's only occupant and dish to the hungry Thralls. But what the Hive didn't know what they they were the ones who were trapped. Almost immediately, the violet light brimming from Simon's heavily plated earthborn Centurion-like helm glowed intensely and so did the Ward of Dawn until its Light radiated in the same likeness as a star. The nearby Thralls and Acolytes screeched in displeasure as their eyes were overloaded by the untamable light before them, halting their attack where as the Knights in the rear shielded their faces, unable to fight with the current state of affairs against them.

While the minions of the Hive were stunned, Simon dematerialized the Ward of Dawn and raised his Pulse Rifle up and took aim. "They're stunned, this is your chance! Finish them off!"

The Guardian recruits gladly replied as they summoned their Light powered abilities and unleashed them upon the still flinching living-husks of the Hive. Sonya leaped into the horde of Thralls with Arc lighting dazzling from her combined fists and slammed into the earth, destroying rock and bone alike as her Fist of Havoc went off like a thunderclap that echoed throughout Cosmodrome Rocket Yard. Howl-23 too jumped into the air and with a menacing sphere of swirling Void energy formed in his hands, the Exo Warlock casted the the terrifying Nova Bomb upon the line of Acolytes who were too late to react after recovering from their blindness and soon were vaporized after the Nova Bomb made contact. Zack as quick as ever, ignited his own Handcannon with Solar energy, infusing the conventional weapon with fiery Light and fired the Golden Gun. Intense streams of Solar spewed forth from the muzzle and shot right through the carnage and nailed three Knights in their weathered skulls, instantly incinerating them upon contact.

Simon was a tad surprised on how the recruits were able to respond and utilize their specials talents in such efficient ways; he never got to even pull the trigger of his Pulse Rifle the moment he gave the attack order. As the ash and dust cleared there was nothing remaining of the Hive force. In fact, for the moment, the entire Rocket Yard had been cleansed of its alien violators as savaged Hive husks and broken Fallen bodies laid unmoving across the snow and rust covered landscape.

"All hostiles have been eliminated. Good job you three!" Cipher, Simon's personal Ghost announced as the tiny machine materialized into reality, "I'll call in the strike order. Commander Zavala will be most pleased that another Strike Team was able to reach their objective on time."

Just after Cipher's sentence had ended, the roaring engines of three Jumpships entering the local airspace came overhead, the shadows of the large craft quickly past over the ground as three new heavily armed Guardians and their Sparrows quickly came into view, having been beamed down from their individual Jumpships. The trio sped by the accomplished Fireteam without a word but had saluted and even waved to them before making their way to their time critical objective.

"Well, that was fun," Zack humorously commented, "May we do it again?"

"I'm not sure if being surrounded by Light craving skeletons is what you should consider, 'fun'." retorted Howl-23.

"You're right Howl, but breaking them sure is!" Sonya optimistically replied.

"That's true." the Exo agreed.

"I'm confident we'll have more tasks like this at hand eventually," said Simon as he stowed his Auto Rifle to the magnetic seal on his back panel, "But I think this should do for the day. Let's head back to the Tower shall we? Drinks on me, how about that?"

The recruits looked at eachother briefly and happily nodded in unison.

===

After departing from the group of recruits so that they could attend their next set of errands and responsibilities, Simon himself had satisfied his schedule for the day and was heading towards his own quarters until Cipher had stopped following him and floated neatly in place to which Simon was quick to notice.

"Something up, Cipher?" Simon asked as he turned to his Ghost.

"Yeah, I got a message from Commander Zavala. He wants us to meet him down at the Vanguard Hall." Cipher replied.

Simon stared blankly at Cipher, briefly turning around back where the recruits were before and then back at the Ghost, "Haven't we already satisfied the training quota for today?"

"Erm, yes. We have," the Ghost responded as if slightly taken back by Simon's gesture, "But this is a priority request. Sounds bigger than the daily usual. Even got a roster with higher ranking Guardians on it. I'd bet a few Glimmer this is some kind of Strike operation."

"Suppose that's fair. Anything more to it?"

"Afraid not. We'll have to go to the Vanguard Hall to learn more details. The usual red tape."

With a faint sigh, Simon pulled away from his original path his quarters and set course to the Vanguard Hall, "Well, let's get going then see what this is all about.

"No."

"Please?"

"How many times are you going to ask?"

"Until you say 'yes.' "

"I'm not going to."

"You're so infuriating, sometimes! Whenever you have time off, all you do is sit in here and stare at it!"

Resting over Hadron-12's hand was a swirling ball of void light, which was the center of his attention as he sat at his desk. Surrounding him were drab walls, a single window that let diminutive amounts of light into the cramped bedchamber, and a crate. A bedchamber only by name. If he didn't need to eat, or sleep, and never had company, what was the point of a bed or other furnishes? This was the exo's mentality as he pivoted his hand away from his face, revealing to him his Ghost. "I'm studying it," he retorted matter-of-factly. The rosy glow from the Ghost angered to a deep bloody aura as he stated this, and its shell shook with a crestfallen slump as the glow dwindled. "Fine, fine. We'll do nothing other than work, all the time. All right?" It asked with a mixture of sarcasm and defeat, to which no response was elicited.

After several long moments of silence, the glow of the Ghost renewed, as it looked off to the side. The shell expanded and flew away, creating the spherical formation used when transmitting radio signals. "Speaking of work," it began. "I'm getting a message, from the Vanguard." The Ghost's body returned to normal as it turned back to the guardian, who clasped his hand closed, dispersing the amethyst pocket of energy. "We're to report to the Commander. Well, at least it's something to do, other than sit in here!" It resolved its news with relief as Hadron rose to his feet, and nodded in playful agreement as they made their way to the Tower.

"Spectre, you know how much trouble we get in when we do this!" The rotating Ghost known as Torren yelped chasing his Guardian.

"Oh come on, we only get in trouble if Zavala catches us." The pilot laughed holding a bundled up cloak full of fruit. Walking past Holiday tossing her the keys to the ship. "Holliday Manus Celer Dei is checking in for repairs." The woman gave him a thumbs up not even bothering to break her stride across the hangar.

"Hey how come you always land the ship yourself and don't let it auto dock?" His ghost asked the Hunter, having always questioned why he didn't trust the computer.

"Simple, I like landing. Plus I like to tell Holiday when I need maintenance or just a refuel." The Hunter shrugged looking at his ghost as started down hall to the Tower Plaza. He saw one of Vanguard Titan's walk out and head straight towards him, crap. Zavala must have sent one of the Titan's on stand by to 'check' his bags he was strict about food brought back to the city.

Torren groan into his ear. "Now you've done it, Zavala said he would ground you were caught bringing food in again!"

Spectre threw a smoke bomb at the ground, turning him invisible as the Titan that had been sent came barreling towards him. He ran turning visible seconds later, using his quick steps he managed to get up to the Future War Cult lounge and hide his ill gotten gains before walking down, smirking at the Titan. He was really glad he'd signed on with them, they always had his back.

The larger man grumbled. "Zavala wants you in the hall, now. He has a mission that requires a skilled guardian." With that he turned and walked away, Holliday wore a grin having returned to her favorite seat in the house watching the chase. Spectre rolled his eyes and walked on, letting the woman carry on her work.

Spectre was trouble, everyone in the Tower knew that... But trouble was fun.

Damien stood firmly as he stared out into the distance, the vastness of The Last City reaching out into the distance where the walls shot up like mountains. Behind him, hangar workers labored to remove the servitor core from his Kestrel Class AX, a little something for the Tower Archives to study. The servitor core belonged to a Wolf Servitor belonging to a raiding party made up of remnants of the Fallen House of Wolves, Damien had been tracking them throughout the expanse caves of Venus for a while and determined it was the oldest and possessed the most information. The deep humming of machinery continued behind him as his Ghost, Liara materialized just to his side, sassy little thing. Beeping and whirring, her eye moved erratic as she went through all of the messages and information The Tower was sending her. Damien felt conversation approaching, he uncrossed his arms and began to take a walk, there was always more to do, especially since it had been a few months since he had seen The Tower.

"Looks like they're almost done with the servitor core."
"Good, any more loose ends while we're here?"
"Let's see. Ol' Shaxxy would like you to participate in the upcoming Crucible games, that could be interes-"
"No thank you, much more important things we can do." Damien responded without hesitation, stepping out into the sun and down some stairs.
"With a record like yours, he's never gonna stop asking..." The Ghost received nothing but silence, "...ok fine, let's see, Banshee, routine maintenance, etc etc, we sure do live an exciting life."
"Your gratitude is overwhelming." Damien responded, dryly.
"You know, I try, I really do." the Ghost didn't miss a beat.

For the next while Damien made the rounds like he usually did, keeping to himself and never really stopping to talk to anybody he didn't have to or see anything he didn't need, he had his guns serviced by Banshee, turned in some engrams to the Cryptarch and did some routine rearranging of all the different things he had accumulated in his vault. The glimmer he received from the numerous bounties he had turned in went straight into weapon, sparrow and ship maintenance. This was all he did, recognized by only a few people who knew who he was and what he did. The day carried on seemingly without a hitch, Damien picking up his weapons, his sword sharpened by Banshee's workers as he stuck it to his back and prepared to pick up his ship and patrol the Cosmodrome for Devil activity. The thought of finding the Devil Kell and exacting some violent revenge was enough to zone Damien out, missing the announcement that his presence was requested completely. It took Liara materializing and getting right in front of Damien to snap him out of his thoughts.

"Did you hear that? Commander Zavala needs to see you pronto."
"Whats the deal?"
"No idea, but you're not the only one."

What could it possibly be? Damien and Zavala had met plenty of times before, but being called in as a part of a group was weird, not what Damien was used to. Thoughts and speculations raced through Damien's head as he walked over to the Vanguard center, the Fallen chain mail on his Titan mark chinging like spurs on cowboy boots as he took each heavy step. He was an army of one, a brawler that was guaranteed the win if he got close enough, but for now he was just curious as to what could possibly be developing. Descending the stairs towards his destination, Damien saw Verstand-08 had arrived before anyone else. Damien simply nodded to the Exo Warlock, standing silently as he folded his arms. There was nothing but awkward silence until Liara decided to intervene.

"Psst, that's Verstand-08 from the Tower Archives."
"I know who that is, I'm sure he can hear you too."
"Sorry, we don't get out much." Liara turned to Verstand, shaking in humorous embarrassment.
"We get out plenty." Damien tried to argue.
"Well yeah just not like, with other Guar-" Liara's retort was cut off as Damien stuck out his hand, returning her. He crossed his arms again as silence once again took over, looking down and clearing his throat, Damien took a deep breath and tried his best to do some small talk.

"We uhh, brought a servitor core in today." Damien uncrossed his arms, twiddling his thumbs as he looked down at the floor, "Yeah, hopefully there's some good stuff in there for you guys."

Yeah, things weren't going so smooth.

Verstand nodded at the Guardian. "Thank you, Sunbreaker. I've been waiting for a Servitor for a while now." His eyes lit up with excitement. "After nothing but Taken and Hive for the last six months as well as several bullets to the head, I'm happy to have some variety in my studies!"

"Fun things to get, servitor cores. You have to pull it out while the thing is still alive or it'll blow itself." Damien explained casually beofbefore his curiosity got the better of him, "Any idea what Zavala wants?"

Verstand shook his head. "No. I take it you were one of the Guardians called by name here. He called enough of us to have a fireteam, but fingers crossed that isnt the case, yeah?"

"We'll see, you never know with these guys, that's for sure."

"True, all too true." Verstand nodded. "By the way, titan, if we are going to be working together, what is your name? I could tell by your rather chatty Ghost you already know mine."

"Damien," the Titan nodded respectfully in return, "Yeah, that was Liara. She's always been that way it seems," he smirked and shook his head, "Of course, we've worked a lot with the Fallen branch of the Tower Archives, your name has come up quite a few times, your colleagues speak highly of you."

"Oh, yes, Damien the Kellbreaker. I used to do quite a bit of bounty hunting for the queen when she still sent representatives to the Tower. That was... some time ago." Verstand rubbed his chin for a moment and noticed another titan, Simon, approaching the staircase the two guardians were chatting. "Must be one of the other Guardians called here. Recognize a fellow titan, Damien?"

Damien looked over to the approaching Titan and smiled spilled over his face, "That's Simon Ivanov, he's done more for The Tower's Guardians than anyone."

The Warlock frowned. "This confirms my suspicions... We might be working together in a fireteam yet..."

Spectre walked towards the Vanguard, taking it slow to give himself time to think. In truth he'd only gotten back to the Tower a day ago. He had been out to the Reef confirming bounties with Petra and moping up Taken in the Prison of Elders, Variks had rewarded him but it still annoyed the Hunter that he kept the freaks. Oryx had been a blight, the Taken war was over with few sighting coming in since it's end. Though his service in the fight had earned him access to higher circles of the FWC he still didn't like it.

Leaving the hallway he started across the hall way, looking at the flags wondering when Saladin would return with his Iron Banner tournament. He loved those matches, all the guardians fighting causing chaos across the battlefield in the name of earning the rewards promised to them. He'd really been hoping to play a few matches of rift, he had something of a Reputation in the Crucible. However his work came first, no matter how much he wanted to peg Warlocks in heads with smoke grenades.

Noticing the crowd waiting he walked over and joined them. "You guys get called too? I just got in from the Reef a day ago already getting called out again." He looked them over, noting the Veterans among them. "I see I'm not the only long time member of the Vanguard here. "Verstand-08 it's good to see out of the archives, probably don't remember me. I was the fledgling Hunter following Tevis around back then." He smiled before turning to Damien. "I know you, Petra mentioned you a couple of times." He nodded to the Kellbreaker.

Torren meanwhile turned and spotted Simon approaching. "Spectre, missed one. He's rather tough looking one." The Ghost chimed in as the scout rounded and smiled.

"I recognize him, he's one of the Titan's Zavala gets to help the rookies! Seen Cayde handing him reports before, Simon right?" The human said finally taking off helmet, Spectre stood out among Hunters as he was, one a Nightstalker. A Hunter who had no fear of the Void, second a Sanction Six operative meaning he flew unrestricted into the Jovian's, and third a chatter box which most Hunters detested. So it did strike him as odd why they they needed him for a Strike.

Stepping out from the large and dimply lit corridor connecting to the North section of the the tower, Simon covered his eyes as the bright light of the sun graced him as he came into the Tower's Watch; the meeting grounds for most Guardians whom returned after a long days work. Turning his head to the right, he could the broken brilliance of the Traveler float above the Last City. It was a forever wonder when the Traveler would ever recover after saving all that was left of Humanity after the Darkness'furious assualts long ago. Coming around the small facility where Tess Everis makes her business with exclusive items and where Kadi 55-39, the Tower's Postmaster, delivers shipments to all the Guardians and the vendors, Simon made his way down the centering lane, passing other Guardians going about their own business and the erected storage facilities harboring important personal equipment to the wielder's of the Traveler's Light, including his.

Not long after making his way down the stairs toward the Vanguard Hall did his eyes sight a gathered group of experienced Guardians whom quickly turned to his direction with smiles on their faces. One Hunter in particular, a rather noisy but impressively capable and formidable one named Spectre, welcomed Simon has he took of his helmet. The others that stood behind him was another Titan by the name of Damien though also going by as The Kellbreaker, a title obtained through aggressive and brutal means; a resounding factor that speaks of the Sunbreaker's feat and skill. The last one was Verstand-08, currently the only Warlock and Exo of the group. Simon has rarely seen him outside of the Tower Archives but with wonders spoken of him many times, the Titan had to wonder what this was all about.

"That'll be correct, Spectre. Pleasure to meet you too, Dmaian and Verstand-08, " Simon replied as he looked over the three Guardians before him, "I assume you gentleman are doing well and are just as curious as I am about this meeting we're having?"

The intense midday sun accomplished little in its effort to batter Hadron-12 with a blinding radiance as he strolled through the city streets. The world of commoners was all too quaint, dwarfed by the scale of the Vanguard's tower, and the Traveler itself. Oddly enough, the Traveler did not cast a shadow over the city, as if the light of the sun shone through unimpaired. Perhaps it was the Traveler's own residue of light that illuminated the ground below it? Nevertheless, Hadron-12 stored such quandaries in his mind for later addressing.

Hadron-12's presence turned heads from the citizens as he made his way to the tower. Some waved or saluted him, a few called out in gratitude for his service, but most averted their eyes, returning to their mundane businesses. Each time a champion of the Darkness was put down, it was only a matter of time before the next rose. One would be mad to deny it, and the slaying of Oryx was no different. The Darkness loomed closer with each passing day, and tension rose with it. Hadron-12 kept his face forward, never deviating from his march to the tower.

By the time he reached his destination, the bright sun tired into a deep orange as it headed off to rest, giving the chromatic skyscraper a brass-like hue. Without hesitation, he headed inside.

"Greetings guardian," stated a tower drone. The humanoid shaped robots lacked the full sentience of the exos, but they were responsive enough, and often quite cheery. The drone in question began typing on a keyboard as it addressed Hadron-12. "Shall I prepare a shuttle for you?" it asked as he walked past. "No, thank you." he replied with the precision of a computer. He continued past the drone, reaching the base of the stairs that decorated the main lobby. His pace flowed up the stairs as his body flickered with a violet light, and by the time he would reach the top of the steps, he had blinked out of existence.

The blood-orange glow of the setting sun once again struck him as he overlooked the city from the tower's rooftop. With an about-face, he saw that the Vanguard was as packed as ever when he re-materialized. He made no hesitation resuming his march through the crowds of guardians, and descended the small stairs at the center of the courtyard. In a matter of seconds, he stood besides four other guardians as he awaited the Commander's orders. "Guardians," he greeted his now-obvious fireteam with a mechanical droll and a small nod before looking forward and standing at-attention.

Damien remained pretty quiet as the rest of the Guardians reported in, his interaction with Verstand was the first time he had conversed with anyone other than Liara in weeks. Simon arrived and Damien nodded, making eye contact with the Defender, keeping his helmet at his side. Another arrived, a Hunter named Spectre. They had a person in common, Petra Venj of the Queen's Wrath whom they've ran tasks for in the past. This was becoming more and more of an interesting development.

"Doing well sir, would like to figure out whats going on so we can get going, no rest for the wicked and such." he replied, he'd be lying if he said he wasn't trying to make a good first impression with Simon, any Titan would be crazy not to.

The last Guardian, a Warlock by the name of Hadron-12 made his approach, seemingly uncurious by the vagueness of his summons, or why he was with strangers he must have never worked with before. Two Warlocks, one of which was known for his extensive knowledge. Two Titans, one of which was known for his extensive experience, and a Hunter with Sanction Six clearance, known for being a bit of a wild card. A diverse group, leaning towards a specialization in void abilities. Damien looked around himself and thought about how random the team may seem, yet how calculated it really was.

The Sunbreaker's curiosity stirred as every passing second passed, calmly holding his helmet to his side as the setting sun glared off of the blade of his sword. "Zavala's usually not one to keep a Guardian waiting, whatever this is could be serious, you may be right." he spoke to Verstand.

Verstand looked to his new fireteam. He saw their names pop up a few times in the archives under the list of donors. Damien's name he saw the most often, being one of the few guardians, let alone titans, that saw value in enemy intel and machines rather than as target practice. Spectre was the only one Verstand recognized by appearance. They had never been on a mission together, but Tevis liked to come in the archives with the new Hunter and show him the more interesting things. He missed Tevis. The only Hunter he could ever tolerate.

When it came to fellow Warlocks, on the other hand, he got along with them all, but he had a feeling about Hadron. His cold demeanor was that of many Guardians he has seen, especially those who have fought in the darker pits of the system. He has seen many Guardians become so cold after seeing friends become devoured by the Hive or lost to the Vex. He understood that, though, sometimes the lack of anything to lose is the best way to keep what you have.

As for the Defender Titan, all the Warlock could say was that he was an obvious choice. Zavala's kind of Titan.

"At this point, it's been all but confirmed that this mission is vital.> Verstand noted. "I hope they're ready for us soon. I could be shooting my head off with Vex Mythoclast right now..." Almost as if on queue, a drone approached the group of Guardians. "The Vanguard shall see you now. Right this way." It muttered in a static female voice. Verstand looked to the rest of them. "C'mon. Let's find out exactly why we've been put together." The Exo was the first into the halls, eager for the briefing.

Spectre nodded to Verstand. "Heh, I'll ask Cayde for permission later I've got some pretty great star charts and readings from the Jovians. I even have some intel on the Nine... Granted it's Speakers ears only, but if I can I'd love to share it with you Verstand." The Hunter said a softer tone now, careful not to let any of the Vanguard over hear him. "Tevis always said you were the one Warlock who saw the world like he did, I might not be him but I try to keep his legacy alive." The Hunter finished as the bot arrived, he hung back a moment sorting through a few things with his ghost.

"Torren, copy and display all the files we have on new threats in the system, put Cabal and Vex at the top of the list." He whispered to the Ghost. "I know for a fact the Cabal called for back up, not to mention the Vex have been quiet since the heart died and we shatter the Vault of Glass." He poured over his own intel carefully, he was no Cryptarch or data analyst but he was good at spotting consistencies. After picking out a few things, he sighed then shuffled in after the rest of the group entered the room.

"Tevis was different than most Hunters." Verstand looked like he wanted to say more, but held his artificial tongue. The group were led into the halls by the drone. It moved off to let the others pass. Inside the was a large table with three outstanding individuals standing at it. These were the Vanguards. The first of the three to greet the group was Ikora Ray, the Warlock Vanguard. She did a polite bow to them.

"Guardians. We're glad you could make it." She said. Her voice was almost contagiously calm, fitting for the intellectual of the Vanguard.

The Hunter Vanguard, an Exo named Cayde-06, took a break from looking down at his map and scanned the group. "Yeah." he nodded. "Took forever. We should really get the 'tour-guide' drone a powerwalk setting." To newer Guardians, they would first hear that this Vanguard was the mastermind behind the fall of The Taken King. When they met him, they would look at the third Vanguard and ask if there was some joke going on.

The final Vanguard, the Titan named Zavala, was the leader of the three. It is rather apparent why he is the leader. He was strong, stoic, and one of the best battle strategists in the Tower. It was no wonder the New Monarchy would make him king if they had their way. "Enough, Cayde." He barked. "I will skip the introductions, as I assume you all became acquainted outside. We've gathered a handful of our most experienced Guardians-"

"You guys. He means you guys."

Zavala glared at Cayde. "We have gathered you here to not just go on a mission, but a campaign. I should warn you all, this is no strike, raid, or recon assignment. You will be put into enemy territory on what many men would consider suicide missions, but you aren't men. You are Guardians. To you all," He smirked ever so slightly. "This might be a challenge." The titan looked at his exo friend and nodded.

Cayde looked sarcastically baffled. "Putting little ol' me in the spotlight?" Cayde made a sound like he was smacking his lips. "Guess that means I'll get to brief you all on your first mission in this 'campaign to reclaim Earth,' since this is Fallen we're talking about." He pointed a gloved finger at a location on his map that was marked. "Just east of the Cosmodrone is a landing sight for Fallen Skiffs. Usually, they never hit the ground unless you shoot 'em down, but you guys will lie in wait for one of these to land, introduce these Fallen to the business end of your Light... And then you're gonna hijack it. That is when things get tricky. There is an unknown Fallen House with a Ketch in low-orbit. We don't really care about what House it is so much as we want you to destroy the Servitor inside and blow up the Ketch itself in the process, making sure any and all Captains go down with their ship. Any questions?"

Sir? While Simon was no stranger of the common honorific he would commonly be addressed by newer Guardians or civilian officers, hearing it from another Guardian with just has much comparable skill and fame like he and all the other summoned Guardians was a tad unusual. Nevertheless, Simon tried to no think about it too much and focused on the matters that was about to soon come.

"No kidding," Simon responded, sharing a similar eagerness with the fellow Titan. It was then Hadron-12 had arrived to the gathering, giving a simple greeting in addressing them all which Simon replied in kind, "good to see you Hadron."

With all the summoned Guardians now assembled, a frame from the Vanguard approached them and requested to follow it back to their former class mentors; everyone complied. Ikora Ray was the first to kindly greet them upon entering the Vanguard Hall. Simon, regardless of being a Titan, had tremendous respect for the Vanguard Warlock. While Zavala shaped him into a proper Titan, Ikora had given him much needed wisdom and insight while he was still a rising Guardian. Both he and formerly Ikora both shared a mutual past of rebelliousness to most authorities and proved very competitive the matches of the Crucible. It was Ikora that perhaps understood him the most during his earlier immortal years and evidently how they became friends. As a symbol to his matured accomplishments, Ikora had awarded the refined Defender with her weapon, the Invective shotgun that Simon now wields to this day with admiration.

Cayde-06 then greeted the team next, and then followed by Commander Zavala. Zavala decided to immediately get straight to the point of requesting them all here. It was no surprise to him, if not to the other Guardians that this was a mission, or a "campaign" as Zavala had put it of the utmost importance. The details of this high risk offensive was then related to Cayde-06 so he could brief the Guardians about. The Vanguard Hunter responsible for paving way for the assault on the once thought to be unassailable Hive Dreadnought now ever apart of Saturn's rings explained that their goal is take out a Ketch of an unidentified Fallen House currently in orbit. To do that, he gave the advisory of capturing a Fallen Skiff in order for their fireteam to board the Ketch so they can carry out their objective. The plan was simple enough to comprehend but the operation felt like a well-coordinated Strike rather than an all-out-war as Zavala had made it seem earlier.

Once Cayde asked if any of the Guardian's had any questions regarding the task, Simon was the first to respond, "The region East of the Cosmodrome, where this landing site is reported to be is, infamously, said to be untouched by Guardians was a long time so I can understand how dangerous it will be in stepping foot there," Simon game a brief pause before continuing with his query, "I would assume we will need infiltrate that region first before moving on to our objective; where will be our point of insertion?"

Damien stood quietly as the situation was laid out in front of him, some activity east of the Cosmodrome needed looking into, there were Fallen, plenty of Fallen, of course. That explained what he was there for, no surprise. Hijack a skiff, get to the ketch and blow it all to smithereens, simple enough and the Vanguard had brought together the perfect group of Guardians to make it all happen. Damien shook his head and smiled when the briefing was over, Cayde giving the floor to the fireteam as a few Guardians spoke out. Liara materialized just over his shoulder as silence took over and it was his turn to talk.

"You guys send me to Venus for three months and this happens, nice. I'd say Devils, they've got a stronger lock on that side of the drome and they love scrounging around even the most desolate parts of the place for whatever they can use. House Kings are all about sure things, I'm sure they're not a part of the picture here. You guys are pretty clever, I see what we got going on here. Verstan can hack the pilot servitor once we clear the skiff, Spectre's about the only Guardian in the world crazy enough to pilot one up to the ketch, the rest of us will clear a path to the prime servitor of the ship, Simon's ward about the only thing that can keep all the high ranking Elinski the ketch is holding out of the throne room."

"At least, that's how we'd do this." Liara interjected.

"How'd you guys want us to get this going? It's possible, I know that's a fact, we just got to get the ball rolling, and folks..."

"This is a mighty big ball." Liara finished.

Spectre stepped in and then spoke up moments later, a little nervous hunters weren't known for speech's they were known for doing things. "Well a few idea's, first we don't actually need a skiff just its transponder. Ketch can't fire at ship that's carrying one its safety precaution Barons put in place to prevent ambitious captains from killing aboard there ships." He paused a moment looking at them, before realizing why they wanted to know how he knew that.

"I learned last time I got into an air battle with a ketch, it was actually-" He was cut off by his ghost. "Uh, Spectre only Cayde wants to hear this story make your points and then wait." The hunter grumbled like Eris after Cayde made a joke.

"Next point is this. I know for a fact Dead Orbit has been restoring an old colony ship... Extra armor, great sensors, and improved point defense weapons. Plus a enough room for twenty Guardians and hundred frames, so I go 'borrow' it from the Cosmodrome and we attach the transponder to it. We can ram the damn ketch, plus it will give an exit strategy, one problem is they haven't put guns on it." He explained as his ghost floated forward showing off the Dead Orbit vessel that was being retro fit.

"Lastly I've got one other idea, we attempt to capture the ketch. The queen has done it, with mortals and witches, we have titans! ... And warlocks that's close enough to the witches right? If we take this thing, we show the Fallen how far we've come from holding our walls to striking at their home!" The red headed hunter smiled hoping the other would like the idea.
