Long ago, before today’s races roamed the world, Earth was ruled by - according to human standards - angelic forces. But an almighty power, the one which makes the world turn, changes the seasons and decides our paths, decided that it was time for renewal. So It cleansed the world and made a ‘new’ one. Humanity was introduced.

While humans roamed and created, grew and learned, they were unaware of the threat below. Now that the old race, the protectors of Earth, were gone, a new force was free to do what it pleased. Humans came to call them ‘demons’. Guardians from the old world were assigned to protect them only when needed, so the Creator allowed men to build statues in which It stored their souls. They rested there, trapped in stone, watching from the top of buildings, staring with hollow eyes.

One day the planet groaned and creaked, it shook and trembled. An unexplainable hole had appeared, swallowing away the earth between Florida, Puerto Rico and Bermuda. For years it just sat there in the middle of the Devil’s Triangle, or the Bermuda Triangle, not doing anything. Everyone knew it was there, beneath the surface, but it seemed harmless. That was until the crater started to swallow the water around it and a large, black hole was revealed which led to the very core of the Earth. From it came the sound of war drums, cries and screams that were a mixture of bloodlust and pain. The very gate of Hell had been exposed and with it an army had been awoken.

All around the world, creatures started to crawl out of their catacombs where they had once been trapped by the guardians that put them there.
But with the opening of the gate, the statues too started to come to life. Their stone hands clenched around the hilts of their weapons, their metal horses scraped their hooves upon the pillars they were put upon. It was the beginning of an apocalyptic war.

And so, after many years, Earth had become a barren place. Humans had long ago given up the fight and were now hiding, living like dogs on the streets. They were afraid to get out. The streets were usually silent, no fighting, no talking, no nothing. There were little guardians left to fight. Their stone corpses laying motionless, scattered across the foliage covered streets. Demons were still occasionally creeping across the pavement, their crooked body moving soundlessly through the towns and cities, searching for any signs of life.

The RP takes place years after the first awakening. Most people have died long ago, the few survivors are hiding.

Libertalia was a pirate colony first envisioned by Captain Henry Avery, who found a safe haven where he could disappear with his stolen riches and avoid death for his deeds. Thomas Tew was to be his right hand man. They began recruiting men of various skills which included, blacksmiths, carpenters, experienced sailors, hunters, stable hands and more. Together they settled on an island in the Indian Ocean to escape the governments who were hunting them.

It was declared that aristocracy was a sham, slavery a sin and themselves free men. Avery and his crew wandered the surrounding seas to liberate the men below the decks of slave ships. They plundered and raided from the governments and brought the loot back to the colony where the pirates-turned-collectivists shared all their property.

But Avery had become obsessed with the treasure which caused the founders to keep the treasure for themselves. Colonists were angered that they were being robbed by the people they served and trusted. The citizens of Libertalia grew restless and angry. Soon a rebellion was forming against the founders and they decided to storm the treasury and take back what was theirs. This resulted in a bloody fight for gold. But, once they came to the treasury, the treasure was already gone and beyond their reach, hidden by founders of Libertalia.

The colony is collapsing.
