Jack Carver

As they walked the two new girls had introduced themselves. Cloe an English girl with not much to say around a lot of people, and Carmen a latina from the NYC hood. 'I have to keep an eye on her i think...' he thought to himself. He looked around noticing people flooding the hall, all trying to get in at the same time, squishing each other when entering the double doors. The group hanged back a bit and waited until the crowd died down. During that time a kid dressed all in black with a few maroon things, was shoved into David, causing his camera to fall. Jack swore time slowed down as he watched sheer horror appear on Davids face as the camera fell, luckily the kid caught the camera. He quickly apologised stating he wanted no trouble but Jack could notice the rage building in Davids face, he grabbed him by the shoulders.
"David, let me handle this ok?" he said his face stern, David could tell he was being serious and backed down. Jack turned to find Carmen holding onto him asking Riley if he was with us.
"No he isn't, but it's alright." Jack interrupted walking over to where the new kid was a small smile on his face.
"Hey there, my name's Jack, i'm with the student council and i haven't seen you here before, your new right? If you need anything don't be afraid to ask." he held out his hand in greeting, holding his small smile.

"Well, I'm from around here. Just not from around here. If that makes sense." Riley explained to Carmen. Not many knew too much about the Hmong culture, but Riley had no problem explaining it. "The Hmong people are mountain people from a few of the Asian countries. My family is from Thailand specifically, but they can be from China, Laos, and Vietnam." Riley explained shortly. There was a lot more information there to explain but, that small explanation would do for now. "Don't apologize for your gaps, I have them too!" Riley insisted.

"In a sea of struggles, fools like us cannot swim alone." Carmen said, her hand patting Riley's shoulder.

Riley could have wrapped her arms around Carmen and give her a hug right there and then. She decided against it though, knowing that it would be quite awkward. However, the statement really hit home with her. Eventually the group moved towards the assembly, Riley kept a soft smile upon her lips. It was turning out to be a good first day so far. The pink haired girl from earlier eventually introduced herself as Cloe, and where she had come from. Though her heavy accent was a dead giveaway for that. She seemed nice enough, albeit a bit shy. Riley gave a wave, and gave her own name as well as a generic "Welcome to the school!" type statement. Trying to make the girl a little less nervous Riley decided to give her a compliment, "I love your hair by the way. I'd totally dye mine the same color but my mom almost killed me when I did this." she pointed to her unnatural red hair and smirked. She was thankful her mother was more worried about appearances and let the girl keep up the dye job so that the awkward roots stage of hair wouldn't be a issue.

The crowd began funneling into the two doors leading into the assembly hall. People often knocked into one another and sometimes pushing became more than accidents. A boy came fumbling through and knocked David's camera from his hands. Riley let out an audible gasp before the boy caught the camera. She knew if he hadn't David would have been not only pissed off but devastated. Her heart rate regulated as the boy handed it back to David.

"Know him?" Carmen asked.

Riley shook her head and parted her lips before Jack interrupted and answered the question for her. She didn't know him, nor did anyone in their group know him. Which unless you were really good at blending in with the crowd- meant you were new to the school. Making a side comment to Carmen, Riley spoke, "Let's hope if he sits with us he doesn't knock us off the bleachers." she playfully teased, giving the girl a soft nudge.

Amelia Rose Thomas

Amelia watched the pink haired girl try and hit on her boy. She thought in her head that she was better for him than some new kid on the block. She sighed though and walked away from the group. She walked to her locker and tore the pictures down from the locker. A picture of them on the beach, on a family holiday, at Disney and just with friends. She tore them all into tiny pieces before sorting her locker out.

By the time that she had done that she had to head to the welcome back in the hall. She headed down and sat next to Riley. In her mind the pink haired girl was all over Jack and she was finding that terribly hard to deal with. There was too much raw emotions and feelings there. There are also too many memories currently.

Louis was quickly reminded of his mom by the dark haired girl's statement and instantly cringed down and dropped his head.

"N-no, I wasn't in a rush. I was shoved. Again, I apologize," he said not looking up from his feet.

He fixed the straps of his back back as the boy talked to him. He ended up tuning him out and watched as a spider started crawling on his maroon shoe. Lifting his foot gently, he bent down to pick it up and put it on the ground next behind him. After making sure the spider made it safely away from the small group he stood and shook the boy's hand. He didn't catch his name, but he didn't plan on sticking around them to care.

"'M Louis, but you can call me Lou," he muttered, still not making eye contact.

He nervously fixed his hair that was already perfect and sighed to himself. "Mother would kill me if she saw this!" he thought and lightly smacked his leg. Louis fixed his tie and with one last hair fix and he was walking away. He wanted to be as far away from these kids as he could. Part of him wished he was back with his mother to finish up school with his best friend, Harry. Louis' father thought it best if he and Harry didn't talk anymore so as to not remind Lou of his old life. Harry got permanently blocked on all social media and from Lou's phone. His eyes got red rimmed as he thought of his best friend thousand's of miles away.

David Copperfield

David was out of it, all he was doing was slightly listening to the conversation and not focusing on waht was going on around him. Not until someone was shoved into him. He fall or trip but the force was hard enough for David to let go of his camera. David watched in slow motion as the camera fell to the floor, a look of disbelief and horror appeared on Davids face. However relief flooded him as the kid who bumped into him caught the camera, he took the camera back and put an iron grip on his camera. 'That's the last time i forget my Camera strap'. He looked at the new kid and almost started screaming at him when Jack grabbed him and told him to leave it. He did so and decided to do as Jack told, David wasn't one for confrontations.

As kids started flooding the hall, David also walked in. He got slightly lost in the crowd but stuck his head out of the crowd and looked for either the familiar blonde hair of either Jack or Amelia, or the red hair of Riley. He saw Riley first and headed over, finding not only Riley but Amelia and Carmen aswell. He noticed both seats beside Riley were taken so he settled for next to Carmen, hoping Jack would sit next to Amelia.

Carmen looked into the eyes of Louis for just a brief second, and she knew what she saw... a troubled soul. Once he looked down and walked away like that, she could help but feel a little bad for the guy. Jack's answer to her question shifted her attention from Louis to Jack, hearing from him that Louis wasn't part of this little Breakfast Club. She saw Riley shook her head from the corner of her eye once Jack spoke as well, which sort of made the statement concrete. "Huh..." She looked to Riley and shrugged. "Eh, oh well." She thought. Once Riley made that statement, she chuckled a little. "Yeah..." She said softly, thinking for a moment about Louis before shaking it from her mind. "I hope whatever the hell is going on is worth it." She said before walking into the massive auditorium with the others.

Once they walked in, she followed where the others were going, looking around for a seat or something. Once Riley found a seat with the others, she sat to the left of Riley, getting comfortable as the rest of the students found their seats. "First class I guess." She said with a soft shrug, looking around. She then saw someone coming to sit down to her left... it was the photographer guy, David. "Hey, seat's saved." She said, deadpan to him. She then smirked a little. "Jus' playin', hermano. Fuck that seat for all I give a shit." She chuckled a little, looking ahead. During the silence, she took out her phone and checked her social media every now and then, checking her pictures. If people spoke to her, however, she was more than happy to converse.

It was still weird for her going to this school, though. Mainly white, kids were mostly nice... with clubs and shit... she felt so out of place. She held it together as much as she could, even with Teacher's Choice Elmer's glue if possible. It looked like Riley could be her only hope of ever having a chance of graduating... though once school starts, Carmen would be more than happy to show her how it's done in the hood. As for the photographer? She'll study him like a book... make sure he's not a narc or anything. She's already been detained twice during the summer for vandalism and staying past curfew. Who knows what the cops will catch her doing? What if she was just walking down the streets and they just happened to feel extra racist that day? Carmen may never know, but whatever did happen, she ain't gonna take shit from nobody.

Amelia took a seat next to Riley and as the girl looked over she noticed the sad look spread across Amelia's face. Riley placed her hand on Amelia's knee, giving it a gentle squeeze. "You okay?" she asked in a whisper. She looked over to where Jack and Cloe were, relatively close to one another but Riley didn't feel it was anything too flirtatious. "If this is about Jack..." she started, not knowing what else to say about it. Riley had felt bad about when Jack and Amelia broke up, but when those things happened it usually happened for a reason. Right?

A sigh escaped Riley's lips as she took her hand of Amelia's knee and into her own lap. Surrounded by her best friend and her new friend, Riley felt good about the first day of school. David came and sat next to Carmen and Riley looked over at him. "I didn't get to say hi to you earlier David." Riley said, a smirk across her lips, "I mean I could have if you hadn't had been so busy blinding me with your camera." she teased waiting to see his response. After giving David a hard time, which she often did she peeked over at what Carmen was doing.

"You have a facebook?" Riley asked, an obvious question as she was looking at some of her photos and notifications. "You can add me if you'd like. Riley Khang and my profile picture is me with the peace sign and stuff." she said almost shy about what she had as her profile picture. It was a lot more revealing than what she came to school wearing. Her parents would murder her if they even knew she had a social media site. She was thankful they didn't know much about the internet besides paying the bill for it, and that it was used for school work. Her siblings of course knew about it, and used it at blackmail often when Riley did something they didn't like.

As they entered the hall a wave of people came through the door, Cloe wasn't strong enough to move against the crowd so she just moved along with it. After the main wave, Cloe looked around she couldn't find Jack anymore, she felt so lost. she clutched her bag and silently and awkwardly moved around the hall. She heard offers of people asking to sit next to them but they were mostly from her impressions the "Jocks" of the school.

After what felt like eternity she finally saw the blonde haired girl that was hanging around the red haired girl and that David kid with the camera.
"Hey there, ummm," she started off nervously, she had a feeling this girl didn't like the fact that she was flirting with Jack, but in her mind single men are free reign,"Do you mind if i sit here? It's just I lost Jack and i assume he's going to sit here, so is it alright if i sit next you?" she asked her tone very nervous and shy.

Amelia Rose Thomas

Amelia smiled at Riley. "I'll be fine.. Heck, she's welcome to him. She looks like the type that gets around anyway." She said before she looked at the floor. She would make him jealous, there were plenty of other guys. Maybe one of them would even be better than Jack. Sure the memories were great but she could put them in a forgotten box.

Amelia raised her eyebrows as the flirt approached her group. "There are plenty of other people." She said looking up at the girl before looking in front of her again. Sure, she could steal her man but she was not about to steal her friends too. Amelia felt bad but shook it off. You can't be nice to everyone she told herself. The trouble was that deep down Amelia had a heart of gold. Amelia grinned "and that's me the Facebook spouse of Riley.. With the Pug in my arms." She adored her pug more than anything. She was 'married' to Riley on Facebook to avoid questions about why she was single again. She wasn't up to answering those questions.

He'd walked into the nearest bathroom and looked himself in the mirror.
"You fucking idiot, should be more careful from now on."
He splashed some water on his face and noticed some gray streaks on his face from his face wash. He grabbed some paper towels and wet them before scrubbing down his face to get rid of them. He pulled his gel out of his bag and fixed his hair, it fell down a little when he'd bumped into that kid. He gave himself another once over making sure he looked okay and decided it was time to go in after all the other kids. He still had no idea what this thing was for, but it seemed the entire student body was heading in.
"Now or never," he thought as he pushed open the door and followed the crowd.

Looking around he didn't see an open seat. He held on tight to his back back straps and walked a little further in. He grinned, seeing an open seat. He didn't pay attention to who it was by until after he'd sat down. The guy with the camera. He frowned a little and looked the boy up and down.
"Hey, I wanted to say that I'm sorry again for nearly breaking your camera. What exactly is this?"

Jack Carver

Jack looked around, in the chaos of students he was pushed around like a rag doll and was separated from his friends. Eventually the crowd died slightly and he was able to pick out his friends from the crowd due to the unique hair colours. They were sitting next to each other of course but noticed Cloe asking Amelia something but she completely ignored her.
'Amelia ignoring a new girl? Thats not like her at all...' He thought to himself. He walked over and sat next to Amelia and let Cloe sit on his right. He leaned forward and waved at everyone, but before he could say anything the principle walked on stage and gave a somewhat inspirational speech, after he was done everyone clapped, the loud mouth idiots cheered. During the assembly new teachers were introduced, certain clubs were recruiting, even Jack had to get on stage twice, the first to be introduced as one of the student council members, and the next to ask people to join the baseball team. By the time all the announcements were done it was time for second period. Everyone started to exit the hall to get their first lesson of the day started.
