Second IC post is up.

Also, as a long time GM, I would like to thank you for being players who can actually discuss with each other and decide things without me having to give you input on literally everything. That's a surprisingly rare but much appreciated quality.

@Capra We are all experienced role players, but this is probably because most of us are vets with basically the same skill packages in the real world, lol

I would have preferred to have a map of the area we were dropping into prior to starting the RP. But we'll draw what we know as we go along; preserve that "mapping" quality found in fantasy role play games. Sure, why not!? :)

If you view my crude map above, I do not know if the platform is square, rectangular or some other unconventional shape. I also do not know if the edges are along the cardinal points of the compass or if the platform is angled in such a way that it would appear as a diamond if you were view it from the sky. I made the assumption it was square in shape.

I was surprised to learn that a distance of 10 Kilometers could be achieved by walking from one location in the interior to another location within the interior of the platform. I was expecting a platform that may have been half a kilometer long at its widest point. This sucker is much larger than I anticipated. With that said, I intended for the team to drop in the northwest corner of Delta, rather than the southeast-central region. See this quote below, written based on the principle, that I as an author had no prior knowledge to what the Halaom Haba platforms looked like.
Tyus scanned the DZ for a suitable landing spot. The best he could come up with was the top of the infrastructure along the northwestern corner.
Gunther

It does make it so much easier to write a convincing story if this information is shared ahead of time. I understand @Capra wants to maintain the element of surprise in order to make for a more interesting story, but maps should not a surprise in a story like this.

Moving Forward...
Now, a decision needs to be made. Granted I could just take off and lead the team along route A, B or C and expect everyone to tag along. How about we talk about it first? @The Spectre@thecircus@cpldingo I honestly, do not like Option C, taking the subterranean route to find Seth, primarily because we lose communications and the value of satellite imagery provided by Miller (AKA Khan) is too great to do without.

If we move along route A, we move north of the hospital in the center and closer to Halaom Haba soldiers and their base in the Northeast corner, assuming there is sufficient room for four people to maneuver between the hospital and the military base. This area, as Capra mentions is secured by HH soldiers and they may or may not be friendly towards us. We would need to move undetected and quickly to get to our objective ASAP.

If we move along route B, we move closer to the fighting going on in the south and southwestern sectors of the platform. We run the risk of being targeted in what is otherwise a very volatile situation. I believe we have a higher risk of mission failure if we move along route B simply because instead of HH soldiers shooting at us along the northern route, we now have HH Soldiers and this unknown enemy who may take shots at us along this southern route.

What do you guys think?

Capra, do you have a map of this region? how is mine? is it close? :)

Miller answered your question in the first IC:

A new image appears on the screen, which appears to be a drawing of one hexagon, surrounded by six smaller hexagons.

"This is a crude map of Haolam Haba; as you can see, the facility is composed of one core structure, surrounded by six smaller platforms, connected to each other and to the core with bridges
Khan

I considered making a map, but it would have come out kind of shit considering my poor skills at image editing, which is why I tried to keep the structure as simple as possible in shape. In other words, imagine a hexagon, with six other smaller hexagons around it: there are bridges connecting the big hexagon to the small hexagons, as well as other bridges connecting the smaller hexagons, forming an hexagonal ring around the bigger hexagon.

I was surprised to learn that a distance of 10 Kilometers could be achieved by walking from one location in the interior to another location within the interior of the platform. I was expecting a platform that may have been half a kilometer long at its widest point. This sucker is much larger than I anticipated. Haolam Haba is very, very big. As for the Northwest-southeast, for some bloody reason my brain can't remember cardinal directions. Sorry, a few days passed between me reading your post and writing the second IC, so I genuinely thought you dropped in the southeastern corner. My mistake, I should have checked again. By the way, the map is pretty close to what I had in mind, and thanks for doing it. If this was a tabletop RP group, I would anoint you as co-GM with the highest honors.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but doesnt the Haolam Haba, resemble mother base from MGSV?

Not to mention C will also channelize the team, one big machine gunner wet dream.

Since we are supposed to try and remain undetected I say A.
1. It's away from main firefight, but we can maintain eyes on the fight, without being part of it.
2. Plenty of cover and concealment, Wolf will be better off as a guardian angel that way... Keeping Morse in sight while maintaining eyes in the battle.
3. All attention will be on the fight itself. Any sort of resistance near the industrial zone should be light....
Damn wish I had a suppressor.

I'd say that we could pass by Route B as long as we don't get spotted. Both sides will be too busy fighting each other to even notice us.

A gets three votes. A it is. I'll post today.

@cpldingo it does look like mother base, but a hundred times larger.

I don't know if you played that game, but it actually looks more like the Big Shell from MGS 2: Sons of Liberty.

I may not get to write until Friday at this rate. I had to go to the Doctor's on Monday and the weekdays get really busy for me. Friday - Sunday are typically my best days. It normally takes 45 minutes to get to my doctor's office. On Monday, it took 2 hours due to traffic. Boston area traffic can get rough.

Sorry for the delay. I finally got a post up. I will be out of contact for the next few days. My son is a Webelos Scout. We are going camping this weekend. I'll be home on Sunday.

I'll most likely have something up tomorrow. This was my first weekend off in probably a year, I spent these 48 hours getting in touch with my inner couch potato and, in the words of many a high school deliquents- "didn du nuffin"

Moving on: I think we need a billet system set up for our team. Since we are a 4 man team, to keep things simple I say go with the standard 4 man team set up. READY, TEAM, FIRE, ASSIST.

Eats can be our riflemen (READY)
Morse the Team leader (TEAM)
Wolf Automatic Riflemen/ support by fire (FIRE)
Doc Assitant A. Riflemen/ medic (ASSIST)

Break down of command in a 4 man team:
Team leader
Automatic Riflemen
A. Riflemen
Riflemen

Obviously we are a bit more elite than the standard T/O rifle team, so cappabilities and responsibilities would change according.

As far as member placement within the team goes.... Obviously we've established Morse has the team. Since Wolf both has the M27, the current weapon platform for the Automatic Riflemen in the USMC, and since he is going to be overwatch it seems best to not have two leads out with each other, keeps internal command integrity from being compromised, and since doc is with Wolf, he gets to be the Assistant A. Riflemen.
Leaving Eats as our pointman, alone and unafraid at the front.

Thoughts? We can use different titles, I'm just trying to come up with something with a bit more organization as far as roles and responsibilities go.

And they can change depending the deployment type.

It's good to have couch potato days once in awhile. Occasionally, I "waste" my time that could be spent on RPs, by playing video games. I know, so irresponsible of me. :D

I like this CPL Dingo. I can modify my post to reflect this change as well as insert it into my informal OPORD brief in the flashback.
