I'll probably make it a .exe file, and update it with new information periodically. If I can't implement an update detection feature, I'll just throw a new .exe your way every time I update it.

I'm keeping it closed source as I'll be adding in an update feature. Other than that, modding and javascript isn't at all the same as python tkinter.

A few points to add to the discussion:

Astartian magic's framework was put into the Codex when Astarte poked little holes into the paper at the start. Toun has already exploited this via the magical siphons that sustain white giants. He knows it pretty intimately, seeing as he tried and failed to patch it out with the other chaos before Fate and Amul ate the punch-cards.

Speaking of Toun, his calligraphy was also build into the codex as it was kind-of the programming language he used. It would still be around if he skived off.

By the way, Rtron's been developing stuff with Tounic calligraphy in the background. Not sure when it's coming, but we'll see.

Edit: Oh yeah, and there's Kaolokinesis. That's technically magic. Screws with your head, though. I haven't done much with it outside of Cornerstone.

Regarding magic and technology, Termite is right that it is incredibly narrow-minded to think that magic will be superseded by technology. Magic can be used to make things which are not otherwise possible under the restrictions of mundane materials or physics, while technology can be used to make magical effects more accessible and more powerful.

Teknall, our resident tech god and one of the principle authors of the Codex, knows the inner workings of magic almost as well as the inner workings of physics, and would readily fuse the two together if he has the need.

Of course, beyond the schools of magic in the Codex, which are (theoretically) accessible to any mortal, there exists direct divine power. When the gods work their miracles or create artefacts of great power, they don't have to use any magic intrinsic to the Universe, because by virtue of their divinity they can manipulate the Universe independent of any properties of the Universe.

@BBeast It'd be much more organized and easier to use, and hopefully more often updated. As for the second question, vOv, if it's a bad nugget then it's my ass on the line, so I've got a stake in the whole thing and that's my reason for not virusing you all.

EDIT: Also, Tkinter is a programming modulo for GUI applications.

I will not accept a ground-up, homebrew Divinus wiki unless it is a cloud agile behaviour driven gamified synergistic holistic user-oriented Node module written in Ruby on Rails and Python can be for acceptance testing. With user metadata collected.

More seriously, you can do this as a pet project, @WrongEndoftheRainbow, but it's going to be most practical for us if it's a website/webapp so we don't have to push changes to you and download new releases all the time.

That said, @BBeast, I can see merit in not having to load many megabytes of images every time I open the character tab. It's a little frustrating when the first 10+ seconds of loading makes the post you're looking for get shunted down over and over again until there are no more banners and massive maps to download and display. However, that's a pet peeve at best.

@WrongEndoftheRainbow I'm not sure how this thing is going to be, but if it's anything like wikipedia...

The best place to start would be with Fate and Amul'Sharar (on whom there is very little information, of course), how everything started (i.e. the summoning of the gods and the creation of the Codex of Creation) and the subsequent creation of Arcon and Galbar. That will give a good overview of the universe's foundation.

Then one can move on to biographies of gods and demigods. Then on to the various things they created.

As others have noted, a lot of the basic information on the various characters exists in the character tab, so feel free to use that in building this thing up and changes should start dripping in over time.

and @BBeast while the character tab is doubtlessly a huge resource, at the moment it is very confusing. Some players have everything regarding their characters in their own tab, others don't, and it becomes irritating scrolling and clicking through Rtron's many posts to find the exact thing you're looking for (if a sheet for it even exists).
A system which is easier to navigate and more regularly updated (*looks at everyone accusingly while hiding the fact that he has a pile of stuff he needs to make sheets for*) will probably come in handy. And if this can in fact be published on wikipedia, we shall be on our way to international acclaim! (because wikipedia page = rolling in the fame right?)
