Left but not Alone
Plot
Plot
One day they just stopped.
No warning. No word.
Nothing.
One moment we were connected to the universe.
Then the next it went silent.
All our communications, quiet.
Our supply shipments, absent.
We were a commerce colony. We weren’t built to provide for ourselves.
You know... I always thought I’d see it.
That there would be a big bang, a flash of light, something.
I thought there would be a sign that the end was near.
…
But there wasn’t.
Just one day, it ended.
Like flipping a switch, one moment we were connected...the next we were alone.
You are living on a colony that has been cut off from the rest of the universe. Communications went silent, supplies have stopped coming in, and a defensive barrier that was meant to protect the colony in case of invasion has now been permanently left on, preventing any ships from going in or out of the colony. The colony was based around commerce, focused mainly around business and science it depended on supplies from other colonies to keep itself running.
As the colony struggles to survive on its own, three factions rise up and divide the island city that makes up the majority of the colony into three regions. Each region is divided into several districts. You live within one of these districts.

Factions
Chimera
Originally a small street gang of petty criminals, hardly anything of note. During a robbery of a laboratory their leader, Colin Gates, discovered the scientist there had been studying how to mix animal DNA with human DNA. The research was incomplete and not ready for human testing but Colin decided to push the research ahead of schedule and used the scientist there as his human subjects.
The scientist came out mutated and hardly human, losing their sanity in the process. With a few adjustments Colin put himself into one of the machines and came out with superhuman strength and incredible speed. With claws like a wolf’s to boot. He was able to withstand the change without completely going insane, but he wasn’t exactly far from it. From that point forward he became known as Cerberus and his petty gang became one of the most violent and destructive criminal organizations the colony had ever known.
When the universe went silent the Chimera took over a portion of the city with little resistance. Seizing supplies and money for themselves. However the inner fighting and lack of stable leadership has turned their portion of the colony into a war torn ghetto. One starving and stepping ever closer to death.

Tyre - Tritech
A successful businessman by the name of Abe Adon, grew two empires alongside each other with his invention of the Eden Device. A machine which allowed you to generate worlds for people to visit, allowing them to live another life for a short time. Though versions of this machine are still used for medical purposes it became the first machine to be listed as a drug under the Controlled Substance Act. This forced Abe Adon to change the focus of his business to military tech and abandon the Eden Device. That’s what it looks like on paper at least.
In reality, Abe took the Eden Project the black market and grew far richer off the abuse of those looking for an escape from reality. Through laundering, Abe was able to have each of the businesses feed each other. Tritech would provide the machines and weapons for his Tyre Mafia to grow and the money and fear created by Tyre would help Tritech grow at an exponential rate.
When the colony was cut off from the rest of the world and things began to look dim for the general populous, many took to the Eden Device as an escape from their suffering. As a means to return to how things used to be. Rich or poor you looked to Abe Adon to provide you with protection and happiness. However, there was a cost to both of these and it would be far too easy to lose yourself to a life of debt and addiction.

Toxins
Maya Sekaitsu was studying mankind's impact on the universe with its ever increasing amount of terraforming and colonization. Her studies showed the potential threat mankind posed to life as they knew it. She hoped her research would show mankind so alter its expansion in a sustainable way. However, her studies were seen as incredible and worthless. Mankind simply couldn’t grasp an apocalypse scenario that wouldn’t happen for tens of thousands of years.
A certain AI far out in space shared a similar concern with Maya and sent her a gift. A few days after the universe went silent a ship crashed into the barrier that engulfed the colony. Most of the debris landed in the ocean but a small chunk the size of a softball landed in Maya’s backyard. She being the curious scientist she was, sprayed down the metal cluster with a hose to cool it down. The sudden change in temperature caused the metal to break off, revealing a cluster of green crystals underneath.
Maya picked up the cluster and upon doing so was thrown into a chaotic state of mind. Visions of all the horrors mankind had done upon itself and life throughout the universe tore through her mind. The crystals turned into an acid like toxin that soaked into her skin and her veins became a neon green. One of her neighbors came to check on her upon hearing her screams of terror. He found her on all fours, her body shaking. He placed a hand on her shoulder and asked what was wrong.
She threw out a hand and the liquid toxin coursing through her veins seeped out of her pores and pooled together, hardening back into crystal form and piercing through the man’s chest. She stood and tossed him aside through the fence that separated their yards. Her eyes were filled with hate and she took steps to the waters to retrieve her tools of destruction.
A week later she set off chemical bombs throughout her district with a gas version of the crystals that had turned her. Several blocks fell into chaos at once. Masses went insane and their bodies altered. Many died, unable to survive the change, but some changed like she did and their agony caused them to kill anyone near them. Her plague spread throughout the city and it wasn’t until the bridges and tunnels connected to her part of the island were shut down that her apocalypse came to a halt. Now she stands in a tower of ruin over looking her city, planning its self-destruction.

Regions
South Island
Under the control of Tyre and the collapse of most of the city into chaos this region has essentially become a small city of its own. You are most likely to live a “normal” life here, though that life is dictated by Tritech mercenaries and the Tyre Mafia. It’s easy to get dragged into or become reliant on these two organization as you try to get by in life.

East Island
Ran like the animal kingdom, it’s a fight for power and dominance on this island. You either rise or fall in the food chain. Challenging those above you and keeping an eye out for anyone who might be out to take your place is the only way to survive. You take what you need in order to survive and look out for you and what is yours. At the top of that food chain is Cerberus who you must serve until the day you can challenge him.

North Island
The largest of the three islands by far. This city has fallen to ruin and has the appearance of the apocalypse. Toxins roam the city in the search for those left unturned. Survivors make desperate attempts to fortify their positions or make an escape for one of the other islands. Life in this region is often short and filled with suffering.

Character Roles
Character Roles
Left but not Alone (LbnA) is going to be ran as if it were a videogame, but with the freedoms of a roleplay. Meaning there will be some core mechanics to the roleplay but the stories can branch as much as you’d like since we don’t have the technical limitations of a video game.
There are two types of characters, Primary and Supporting Characters.
Primary Characters
Primaries act like a character in a role-playing game. Going out and doing quest, working with others, while trying to pursue their own goals. They have the largest impact on the story but they also have to follow the rule that their main goal is to rise in power and their views are very much influenced by the faction they are under.
(This role is recommended for those who want to be active participants in the roleplay and are willing to put in the time to have a great understanding of the world, the roleplay’s mechanics, the other players in the rp and what their character is doing at any given point)
Supporting Characters
Supporters live out their own lives doing whatever it is they feel like doing, within reason. They do not have to have a direct tie to any particular faction. They can be bartenders, garbage men, ex-soldiers, whatever you want them to be that makes sense for the world. They give the world depth and help create complexity in the Primary Character’s story lines.
(This role is recommended for those who want to experience the roleplay without having all the responsibility of a primary role)

Actions
Actions
These are mechanics that determine what your post is based around and its impact on other players. These should be listed as a sub title to your post.
Primary Actions
These are actions that have a large impact on your character and their place in the world. As such you can only perform two of these an rp day. (Only able to perform if you are a primary character)
(Tyre Only) Manage Businesses - As you rise amongst the Tyre you will begin to own businesses such as Eden Stations, Clubs, porn, and so on. These businesses will generate you money and affect your renown. You will need to manage these businesses to keep them running efficiently.
(Chimera Only) Manage Projects - As you rise amongst the Chimera you will begin to organize events such as fight clubs, races, drug trafficking, and so on. These projects will generate you money and affect your renown. You will need to manage these businesses to keep them running efficiently.

Freeplay - Letting your character go out and do whatever it is they like to do. Bar hop, sightseeing, write whatever you want to develop your character.
Co-Op - This is a post shared between two characters. In order to prevent spamming the rp please do these outside of the rp (through pms, google drive, or whatever you prefer to write in) and then share the full post here. For example if you and another character meetup and talk at a bar, don’t make one line post back and forth but instead share the whole conversation as one post.

Additional Information
Additional Information
Please feel free to make any suggestions to the rp as it is still in the interest check stage and could use some fleshing out. Some information is provided below.
- All Primary Characters start out with nothing. You must earn your stats through roleplaying.
- Support Characters can start with some benefits if they so choose. For example if your character is a bartender they could also own that bar if you want. But they can not own a series of bars and have 50 bazillion dollars.
- The strategy element of the game isn't well planned out yet and requires a map, so Primary Characters will not be able to attack or defend early on in the rp. (Since they start with nothing this shouldn't be an issue)
- In order to help keep everyone in the same timeline the OP will make post that progress the rp into the next stage of day. For example, everyone will be given a fair chance to write a post for what they do during Day One - Morning. Then the OP can decide to make it Day One - Night so that everyone is in the same general time. (this keeps players from writing out a week's worth of actions while you were at work/school)
- The OP plays a mode god like role and tracks the players and their actions to make sure everyone is acting fairly and within the rules provided. He can also introduce minor characters to help push the story, such as receiving a text from a random stranger saying you need to meet him at the subway.
- There can only be a few Primary Characters per faction to avoid the rp becoming clustered.
- There is no limit on supporting characters.
