The air felt tight, lifeless. She didn’t know what to do, the small fading heartbeats she heard in the distance sounded just as broken as her own. Miki got to her feet and went to the door. She walked down a few doors to the door of her new friend. She held a hand close to the center of her chest before knocking slightly on the door. The air on the other side felt unnaturally cold. She was frantic for the safety of her friend.

Vada stood at the sound of the door expecting to be Aido. She swung the door opening let the cold air out, "Aido you don't need to-" she cut herself off when she saw Miki standing in front of her looking shaken. She bit her lip and took a step back from the door embarrassed, "I'm sorry Miki...Hanabusa was just here and I thought he wanted to finish our conversation. Clearly I'm mistaken." She let the girl into the room and shut it behind them trying to calm herself so that the room would warm up a bit more.

"Are you okay? Did he yell at you?" Vada asked resting a gentle hand on the girls back to lead her to the bed for a seat.

Miki looked around the room, feeling the cool fade quickly. She blinked a couple times at the name Hanabusa...Its been awhile since she heard the name. She smiled lightly at Vada " No no, we just had a conversation, we have been..acquainted before so we were catching up. He wasn't mad at you." She didn't try to convince Vada what she said but more of herself. She sat on the bed looking around at the colors of the room, it made her feel calm which was a first for her in a while. "How was your conversation with him? He's a nice gentlemen.. sometimes."She giggled slightly to herself but stopped when the tension in the room was revealed.

Vada ran a hand through her hair deciding how to tell Miki about the past she had with Aido. "Well, him and I have some history. He was best friends with my brother. My family was attempting an arrangement for the two of us while Clement was alive still and he'd convinced Aido to meet with me. Before the meeting Clement died and when we got together it was hard for both of us. I look so much like my brother, and he acted so much like him. We had a good time, but Aido couldn't get passed my face apparently. The arrangement was off and I haven't seen him since today," she said trying to her best to sum it up without taking forever. She could feel the coolness starting to come back and shook her head. "It's nice to know he's here though since we both use ice. We used to try and out do each other with our ice abilities. I learned a lot from him, just not how to control it."

Miki looked down at her hands sadly. She was an only child and the only one she knows that can control wind. Being..what she is it was unusually for her to have an ability like this. That's why she often thought she wasn't a part of her family by birth, she isn't like any of them. “Wind…”She said softly “I can control wind… not well though..m-y emotions get the best of me.” She looked around the room again and looked to Vada. She laid her head down before her and looked up at her. They were one in the same nearly, both confused lost souls with no one that really is there for us. Well they have each other and nothing was going to change that. She looked up at Vada smiling at her making eye contact.

Vada rested a hand on Miki's shoulder and gave a small sigh. She offered a returning smiling and used her other hand to push the hair out of her own face. "We can help each other learn control. You'll notice the air in my room getting colder when I'm over emotional and I noticed wind a little earlier. Maybe if we help each other we can master our elements," she said with slight positivity in her voice. She couldn't wait around for Aido to give her the time of day. If she wanted to be able to protect the people she cared about then she had to learn how to control the ice.

She nudged her friend a bit with her leg and pulled her into a hug. Vada wanted to let her know that she was here as long as Miki wanted her around. They were more similar than she'd originally thought and it lifted a weight off her shoulders to know she had least one person that wouldn't look at her in disgust.

Miki lays into her friend's arms, the embrace was nice, something she had not felt in a very long time. The touch of a person who actually cares for her. She looked up at her with a smile “That sounds good, I have never talked to anyone about it before so this will be a first for me. I don’t even think my parents know about my power. Not that they cared to be involved in my life in the slightest.” Miki looked down at her hands, she made small circles with them to make a small breeze, wind it's not dangerous unless you make it. This is what she always told herself. She has the power to move things and make small effects, but she also has the power to asphyxiate people, make tornadoes and other wind storms if she isn’t careful. She could only imagine what ice could do… It’s everything dangerous and also everything beautiful.

Vada pulled away and began to frost a bit of the wind. "Could you imagine what we could accomplish if we learned a technique together. We'd be a powerful team. Wind and ice aren't so different, mine is just slightly more life threatening considering I could accidentally freeze you," she said with a half smile as she began to pace around the room. Her mood began to change to excitement as she thought about what the two could do together. "We could spar with each other too once we learn control. If I get a hold of this power I can go after the man who killed my brother...I could put my family back on the map," she said as she stopped walking and looked up at the ceiling.

She could feel her body getting colder as she thought about finally being able to make her family proud. Her smile began to widen as she looked over at Miki. "We could make both our families proud if we get stronger. Imagine going to your parents with the ability to control your wind effortlessly. There's no way they could look down on you, Miki," she said walking back over to her and taking her friends in her own. She gave a gentle squeeze and a thin layer of ice covered their hands. "We can get stronger and more competent together. Without anyone knowing. One day we'll just show up as the most powerful vampires."
