Hello everyone,

I’m pretty new to PbP so please bear with me if I screw up in what I wish to ask. I am wondering if someone could help/advise me on a few questions I have. Though I am relatively experienced at PbP and have the time to devote to it, I am having problems Finding a good Dungeons & Dragons / Sword & sorcery type game that will let me join. Maybe its just me?

Of the few games I have found… When I asked about joining the answer was always the same. “The game is going on now and we have to many players as it is. Try back in six months or so maybe.” - Nice. Understandable, it's a fun hobby, but still... and, (This might be my problem) When playing a PbP I like to either have a more exotic race (Minotaur, Centaur fighter, mage etc) I Can play as a regular staple (Human, Elf, Dwarf, And so on, by the numbers) but I would prefer to have a bit more Roll play range. - I haven’t found Any games that will allow for more adventurous races 9or alternate gender, Come to think about it) Can’t quite figure out why but it seems a shame and limiting.

Anyway, can anyone suggest a place for me to go (Hmmm, maybe I should rephrase that…) - Could anyone suggest a place here where I might find a game that has Rollplaying in addition to battles, that I can get in on this year and that might maybe accept a minotaur, centaur, slime or some other exotic type race? If so I’d be really grateful! I have plenty of time to devote to this hobby, if only I could find a place to have me. I’ll admit I am asking this question in several PbP forums, so if ya see this post elsewhere…

Welcome to the guild! Your best bet for finding an RP that is still accepting new applicants is to look at the Interest Check section. OOCs are generally a bad place to look, but sometimes you may luck out. There's the General Interest Check section, and the Interest Check sections for each difficulty-- Free, Casual, and Advanced.

As for finding a roleplay that will allow you to be one of the characters you mentioned-- it all depends on the GM, what their world and story is like, and how flexible they are. If none of the roleplays currently accepting seem to be what you're looking for, you could always try your hand at creating you own. Otherwise you might just have to be a little flexible yourself in the kinds of characters you play until one that WILL let you be the kind of character you want comes along.

Welcome to the guild. You should probably be able to find a group to RP with using that sort of setting easy enough though, at least compared to some other less common settings. As for the race concern, like the previous poster said, it'd be up to the GM; unless you were the GM then you can technically do whatever the hell you want.

Sounds like you're into high fantasy, a theme that's not too uncommon around here, as suggested above I'd browse through some interest checks, if you find something you like just subscribe and put in your interest, then wait around until the IC comes up.
I myself enjoy role-playing as the exotic races, often centaurs, dragons and fauna races.
