Ethan Blackledge

Ethan's eyes shot open to see a mass of purple hair right in front of his face. For a moment he forgot where he was and what had happened. When he started to come around, he nestled his head into Violets hair and let out a sigh before getting out of bed and stretching. Ethan was still drowsy from the sleep and having no idea how long he was asleep for. He sat back down on the corner of the bed rubbing his face tiredly. After a short while he headed downstairs, deciding to leave Violet in bed to rest and recover from her injury.

As Ethan got downstairs he seemed to be one of the last people to get up. Everyone was up and making food. Ethan shouted happily, "Morning people... Or afternoon? I have no idea what the time is." He walked passed everyone in the kitchen and grabbed his bag which was in the corner and placed it on the table. "I've got a few tins if anybody doesn't want eggs." Ethan said noticing that he could only see eggs being fried. "I've got... tins of fruit. A few tins of spaghetti hoops and the rest are... Types of meat... Not exactly fine dining but better than nothing I guess." He carried on rustling through his rucksack and grabbed a bottle of half empty water and took a swig. He took out a thick book from the bag. "Also I have a map and a compass. I have no idea how to use the compass, so it seems pointless me having it. Probably should have joined the scouts when I was younger, but I can't really change that now." Ethan chucked them on the table, the book was called 'Road Atlas USA'.

Violet Braddock

Violet heard the door shut and she yawned as she woke up slowly. She noticed two things at the same time. Ethan had left the room and there was a terrible pain in her chest. "Ouch" She mumbled to herself. "Oh sweet agony please kill me now!" She managed to get to the side of the bed and pushing herself into a sitting position brought tears to her eyes. She was determined. She was not asking anyone for help to go to the bathroom. Fortunately Nikki opened the door and looked at her. "Bathroom?" Violet nodded. "When I saw Ethan I figured you would try to make break for it." Nikki walked over to her and put an arm around her waist and lifted her to her feet. She helped her to the bathroom.

"Yeah, sorry about that. Years of training teach you to react first. I have been on the receiving end of these kicks before and I've cracked ribs too and yes. I thought I was going to die or rather I remember praying I would because it hurt so bad." Nikki helped her get up and looked away so she could have a little privacy. "You will find that going down the stairs will hurt more than you think. You use the arms and those muscles got kicked so they are sore. Just make sure you hold onto the rails. Do you want to go downstairs?" Violet nodded.

Nikki yelled, "Hey MATT come up here a sec!" Matt happily bounded up the stairs with an upside down baby giggling like a loon. "What's up?" He righted his daughter who smiled and yelled "Kikikiki!" Nikki took the baby and asked him, "Can you very carefully get Violet downstairs." He nodded and passed the baby to Nikki. He carried Violet like she was a piece of china. When he set her on her feet he helped her into a chair in the kitchen. Then he turned and saw his little one reaching for him and she shrieked in giggles as he flew her away. "Thank you Matt and Nikki!" Violet said trying not to use any muscles for fear of pain.

She looked around the house and saw Ethan looking at some things he had obviously dumped out of a bag. She smiled at him. Darius brought her a cup of coffee.

Jacklyn

Jacklyn Walked down a road that at one time would have been the main road in or out of the small town she had spent the night in. She had chosen to stay in the towns small jail, figuring that that would be the safest place once she locked herself behind the bars. She had miraculously found a few bullets, perhaps left over in the towns haste to escape impending doom. They could mean the difference between life and death for her, although she was well aware that if she was chased by a herd of walkers, she would be run down and torn apart. And this time, she wouldn't have someone to push behind her to give her a moment or two respite. In this world, it was either survive or die. She did what she had to. Over one shoulder, she had a backpack that held a few bits and pieces but that wouldn't help her in the long run. What she needed was a group. People to watch her back while she slept. People to, if need be, sacrifice for her own survival. She contemplated where she might find people, having been roughly a week since she was alone. She had survived by, essentially, staying off the Walker grid, occasionally running into the odd one or two, quickly dispersed.

Maybe a farm? There seemed to be a surprising lack of the dead about, yet Jacklyn knew that didn't mean they weren't about. Merely that nothing had attracted them. A small farm, maybe, with a handful of animals, might go unnoticed by the dead. And that might mean there were people...

jacklyn stoped a moment to get her bearings, but she had no idea where she was, truly. Down the road slightly, there was a coupe of cars that bad, quite obviously, crashed. Maybe in the rush to get out, maybe afterwards. Inside, she could see a walker, the front of the car smashed in, perhaps trapping the dead man by the legs, but certainly not killing them completely. Would have been better if he had smashed his head like a melon on the dashboard but what was, was. Deciding that it wasn't worth the effort to put the man down, Jacklyn walked around the cars. The second car appeared to have escaped much damage, the occupants had clearly walked out. She pondered that a moment, before shrugging and continuing on her way.

She walked for sometime, glancing about her constantly, but there appeared to be nothing and no one about. She really was in the middle of no where. Perhaps someday soon a herd would walk through here, but for now, Jacklyn was safe. Or as safe as could be in this world. She stumbled across some farms, but none looked to have any occupants and she wasn't quite game enough to approach them, not when one had had the carcass of a mutilated cow. Or she supposed that was what it was. Finally, when she was nearly giving up, when night was turning to day, and she was about to find someplace she could rest, she came across a farm that looked to have occupants. There were cars, at least, and evidence that some walkers had been killed recently. She tilted her head, studying it, before she began to walk up the road towards the farm.

she wasn't surprised when she came across a guard, but so far Jacklyn hadn't met someone she couldn't charm. She smiled sweetly, adding a bit of weariness to it, and adjust her voice smoothly to relief, stumbling a little bit as she approached the guard that had made their presence known.

"Oh thank god! I thought I'd never see a living person again! It's been so long...c-can I come in?" her voice held that natural twang of Texas, which she laid on thick, making it seem like her voice was thick with tears, with relief. "I'd be ever so grateful..." She let herself trail did, her smile all innocent, but it wouldn't be the first time Jacklyn used her body to get what she wanted.

Nikki Hishamie

After helping Violet Nikki put her trench on and walked outside. Her instincts made her check the immediate vicinity and she decided to take a walk. She had her weapons on her if she needed them, sword included. She walked down the road and looked at the area as she went. She sighed heavily as the reality of what happened hit her fully and a few tears rolled down her face. They had lost so many in the explosion. The kids Christian, Mickey and Sadie, Camyllia, Kat, George's wife Betsy. There had been several couples and others whose name she didn't remember but she did know their faces. It was these faces that kept flashing in her memory.

She was thankful that George and Darius had made it out but they were almost all that had. The guard members that went inside to help didn't come back out alive. Jon was inside and he and Ingrid had made it but Jon was too wounded to fight right now. Matt, Gracie, Sasha, Ingrid, Jon, Darius, Ethan, Alex and Erin, George, Kyle and Nikki and presumably now Violet too and four or five of the guards, that was all that was left.

Nikki looked up and saw a walker stumbling towards her and she pulled out her sword and swung it and kept walking as it's head rolled across the road. She wondered when this all had become so normal to her that they worried more about the living hurting them than the dead. She moved her hand to her baby bump and wondered what it would be like in five years and if her own child would be alive then. Would any of them?

Nikki's maternal instincts were screaming at her to find another place like the school and make it safe before her baby was born. On her way back to Violet's house she saw one other walker and it had no legs. Other than that she didn't see anything. As she approached the farmhouse she saw one of the guards talking to a young woman that she'd never seen before. Wondering who this was she listened from afar. There was something about her. Nikki couldn't put her finger on it but it was weird. Her internal radar went off and told her to be cautious.

Kyle and Nikki Hishamie, Jacklyn

Nikki walked towards the guard and the brunette. She seemed odd. How was she all alone out here? She wasn't carrying any large weapons, that Nikki could see. Most likely a gun and a smaller dagger or something like that she figured. Most women especially couldn't make it out here on their own for long. The closer she got to her the more curious she became.

Nikki was wondering what Kyle was doing. She had come outside after breakfast and had no idea where he was. Maybe he took a shower or maybe he was taking a good long look at the property like she had.

Nikki walked up to the guard and the woman. "Who are you?"

Jacklyn felt she was doing well sweet talking the guard, and she was well pleased with herself. As a woman approached her, she smiled at her, trying to portray sweetness and innocence, but knew she would have to throw in a bit of toughness too. No one would survive in this world without being tough, after all.

"Oh, I'm Jacklyn, but you can call me Jackie if you wish. Who are you? Is this your farm? May I please stay? Its been so long since I last saw someone alive, maybe a week...I saw the cars and had to hope...."

She trailed off, letitng herself look around the place, as if a little awed. "Its been hard, trying to find cover...I slept in a police cell last night"

After he had finished breakfast, Kyle went out to his impala parked near the house. He rummaged through the trunk and found his suitcase full of clothes. He brought up stairs to his and Nikki's room and changed into sweat pants and a sleeveless white shirt. He wanted to further pull security along the borders of the farmland but he needed to workout. They spent too long driving here, and he had too much too eat. He started his workout by doing a few sets of pull ups, push ups, and squats. After he finished he went for a run.

On his run, he noticed a fairly lacking amount of walkers. He smiled at this. The dead would always be dangerous and since there was no sign of the government doing anything or even existing, and no cure was made known yet. But right now, living in this moment, they were safe.

Kyle was returning from his run when he saw the guard, the stranger, and Nikki. He jogged over to them softly and quickly.

"Howdy partners. Whats happening?"

Nikki smiled at Kyle's appearance by her side. "I was just meeting a new person who wants to join us." Nikki decided to let Kyle handle this discussion. Her alarms were going off in her head. There were too many questions she wanted answers too. She wasn't going to trust as easily as she had in the past. There was just too much at stake. Now she also had to think about her baby.

The woman seemed to distrust her, which Jacklyn had to admit was wise. She looked to the new comer, wondering if he was the one she had to answer to. Well, so be it. "I'd love to join your group, my last group... We lost each other one by one, and then a small herd scattered us. I don't even know if they are alive or not. Please, can...can i just come in and get some proper sleep?" She asked, rocking back on her heels, letting her eyes widen, almost begging it seemed.

Kyle calmed his breathing and wiped the sweat from his forehead which was dripping. He sized the stranger up. She seemed....well he didnt know. Everyone was nice until they stabbed you in the throat then shot you in head. Killing you twice. Kyle thought she was decently cute, and if she was alone and her spirit was not broken then she was stronger than she appeared.

"Slow down there a moment. Now I would love for you to come inside and be part of our group. But before you can we need to make sure you wont kill us all in our sleep."

Kyle laughed slightly, trying to keep the mood light.

"First a few questions. Whats your name? How old are you? How long have you been alone? Why are you alone?"

Jacklyn expected te questions. She shifted, turning to the man, she waited for him to finish speaking before she said anything. "I'm Jacklyn. I'm...hm. What day is it? Eh, probably 26 by now. I've been alone....lets see...the police cell was last night...maybe a week? The dead run us down, scattered us...Like I said, I don't know if they are dead or alive. We were six, now I'm one. I've been staying out of the way, hiding I guess, from the dead. They can't climb, or I've never seen them...You can hide pretty good in a tree" She gave a shrug, figuring that there would be more questions, and she waited for them.

Nikki looked at her rather coldly. "How many living people have you killed and why? How many of the undead have you put down? What are your fighting skills?" Nikki casually let her trench coat open a little showing the arsenal of knives and guns and her long sword among many other weapons show. "Why should we trust you?"

Kyle put a hand on Nikki's shoulder and kissed her cheek.

"Your very scary baby. I just got chills. But lets remember "fish are friends, not food." The analogy there is lets not eat this poor girl alive...or scare her half to death."

Kyle turned to Jacklyn.

"Although I wouldnt mind asking the same thing. Have you killed a lot of alive people? Have you killed a lot of walkers? Do you have any skills that stand out? PLease know that we just wish to know, it wont determine if you join us or not."

Jacklyn looked towards the girl, who seemed to have something against her. She was quite use to that. Most females hated her. Still, it wouldn't do to be meek around this girl. "Its okay. I don't mind. After this long, your group must be like family and family is important" She managed a smile, although part of her didn't think this was going well for her now.

"I've killed one person" While it was a lie, it wasn't a flat out one. "And that was because they were trying to kill me. I don't know how many walkers I've killed, i didn't stop to count. Skills? Well, I've gotten good with a knife and gun, I can cook somewhat. I'm probably the best damn organisor you can find. If I knew the end of the world was coming, I would have honed out my skills. I'm a fast learner though.

And there was one more. Why should you trust me? You shouldn't. I wouldn't trust anyone I just met, but I'm putting my life in your hands, aren't I? And I'm sure there are more of you then me. I'm one tiny girl. I'm not going to be much of a problem. Put a guard on me. I don't care. I just don't want to wake up with a walker eating my arm as a snack. I just want to be safe. Take my weapons"
That she knew was a bold risk, but there were other weapons besides her gun, with its handful of bullets, and the knife she had.

"But if you aren't going to let me in, let me know soon. It takes a while to choose a good tree to sleep in"

Kyle laughed and shook his head.

"Yea ok lets take the things that save lives. No its fine keep your weapons."

Kyle motioned for the guard to listen to him.

"Please go back to the house and find a room for our new person. Clear it, make sure there isnt anything hazardous in there and tell everyone in the house we have a new arrival."

After the guard nodded and walked back to the houe Kyle turned back to Jacklyn.

"Now because your new, and we actually recently just got here, there is still a ton of work to do. So I am going to be giving a little more work to do than others, kinda like proving yourself to the group. But your part of the group now, so stay loyal and we will treat you like family."

Nikki watched the girl and the guard heading towards the house. "We should also be clearing this with Violet. It's her house. So what do you think of this girl? All of my senses are screaming and flashing red lights. There is something about her....I don't know what yet...but I don't trust her as far as i can spit at her." She dug the toe of her shoe in and said, "If she even looks at Gracie sideways or any of them for that matter...if I let her live she will regret it.

Nikki looked at her husband. "We need to find another school and get set up before the baby gets here."

Kyle wrapped his arm around Nikkis waist and pulled her into a loving embrace.

"I dont either. But our group cannot survive on our own for very long. We have a decent amount of people but....people die or get sick. We have to take chances."

Kyle grinned.

"Plus the guard is hiding a one way walkie talkie in her room. While we were driving after the school was lost, I made a few plans with people who are assigned as guards. If I ever use the word hazardous in front of a new person wanting to join our group, they are suppose to put a listening device in that persons room."

Kyle sighed.

"Its her eyes for me. I just.....see something in them that makes me suspicious. But its not enough to go on. I want to trust her, and im giving her a chance. But im arming the other hand as well."

Nikki smiled and looked up at Kyle and hugged herself to him. "Just promise me that we pay attention to our instincts and each other. Mine have saved me and us all more than a few times. I'm still feeling crappy. This baby is intent on starving me to death. " She touched her baby bump protectively and realized how nauseated she was still.

"Let her think I'm cold and mean. She'll be more careful around me. I don't want her to know that I'm really weak right now. I'm probably still stronger than her but I'm not up to my usual and that makes me feel bad." Nikki closed her eyes against Kyle's chest.

"I hope there is some chicken soup in the house. Come on let's go see." Nikki steared them towards the house.

jacklyn was quite content, for the moment, to go dolicely into the farm house, and into whatever room they gave her. She tried for a grateful smile to both, before following the guard. She was certainly pleased that she had her weapons still, but there was something that was putting her ill at ease. She was sure there had to be something else going on, but she wasn't sure what.

As the guard led her inside, she glanced about at the farm house, at the people there. From the entrance, she could see people in the kitchen, which seemed to hold a few people, three from what she could see, and from somewhere, a child's laughter. That gave her pause. How did children survive in this world? They seemed an unnecessary burden to her, but she figured she couldn't just say that.

"I can chat while you get rid of any "Hazardous" Materials" she said to the guard, although just what there were in this place, she couldn't quite figure out, especially if there was a child. They wouldn't want the kid to hurt themselves given that they had kept them alive this long.

Matt zoomed around the corner flying Gracie like a superhero. Her laughter filled the house and Violet smiled at her and her expression tightened as she saw the newcomer enter with a guard. Matt flew Gracie back out of the room.

Nikki walked into the house and went into the kitchen and started opening cabinets looking for soup. She found a few cans and looked at Violet oddly. "Seriously? Split pea soup or vegetable beef? Okay vegetable beef it is...." She looked down at her tummy and said to it, "You'd better be nice to mommy. Let's keep this inside for a while okay?" She put it in a bowl and microwaved it.Sitting down across the table from Violet she looked at her and Nikki noticed her looking at the new girl and Violet's smile didn't reach her eyes. Nikki made a sound that got Violet's attention on her and she smiled.

"You okay Vi?" Violet smiled at the use of her nick name. "Yeah, I seem to be doing a little better. I realized that I'm going to have to use the muscles even if it hurts or they will stiffen up. Ethan was really sweet to me. I like him. He makes me feel....cared for and safe." Violet nodded. "Who is she?"

Nikki's expression changed a little and she said quietly, "New girl, she just walked up to one of the guards out of nowhere. Kyle thinks we should give her a chance." Nikki took a spoonful of her soup and when it went down and she waited a few minutes and smiled. "Thank God! Baby likes veggie beef soup. I get to eat again!"

Sasha sat on the living room floor, making sure she wasn't in the way, frowning over the meager supplies she had managed to take with her from the community. A majority of the supplies had already been used, but she had a handful of herbs, dried, that if she could identify once more might be useful.

She glanced up every so often, and frowned as she saw a stranger with one of the guards. She should begrudge someone just stumbling upon the group, not when she herself had only just joined the day before, yet it seemed odd someone surviving by themselves. Shaking her head, she glanced back down at the herbs she was studying.

With a sigh, she rose, packing up the herbs and slipping them back into her pack, going into the kitchen, hearing Nikki say the girl had just walked up. She supposed that wasn't odd-the cars might seem weird on the property.

"Its not strange, someone surviving on their own, although I'd worry about their mental health" She said, her own two days stumbling away from walkers hadn't been fun.

Nikki smirked just happy that her tummy was settled. "I wonder if she has seen my hunky brother yet." She smiled at Sasha knowingly. "You might have trouble with her if she has. She seems like she gets her way a lot. I'm just saying."

Nikki nodded in the living room at Matt as he played with Gracie on the floor. He pulled his hair back and put it into a pony tail and even Nikki noticed how good he looked. She grinned. "I'm glad he is my brother. It would be too much energy to kick all the girl's asses."

She got up and took off her 50lb trench coat and put it over her arm and went into the living room and sat near him and Gracie who immediately toddled over to her and grabbed her hair.

Nikki's words caused Sasha to blush profusely, and she looked away from Nikki, "Then maybe its time someone told her no" She said as Nikki left the kitchen. Shifting awkwardly, Sasha had absolutely no idea what to do now. Her thoughts roamed wildly, confused.

Excusing herself, so as not to be rude to Violet, she headed outside, wanting fresh air.

Matt left Gracie with Nikki and he followed Sasha outside and he caught her by the arm and lightly tugged her backwards and when she lost her balance he caught her and dipped her kissing her deeply like they did in those old musicals you saw on tv. He gave her a huge smile. "You okay? You seemed way too serious." Matt righted her and held her hand. He put his arm around her as they walked. "What's on your mind?"

Sasha couldn't help her smile at Matt's actions, but it faded at his words. She didn't know what to say, and she looked out over the grounds. "Just something Nikki said" She said after a moment, knowing she had absolutely no right to be jealous of a hypothetical, not after the last few days especially. She didn't know what else to say, without sounding foolish.

Matt stopped and looked at Sasha. Then he looked back at the house trying to think what his sister might have said. "Should I go beat her up? I could give her the don't mess with my girlfriend speech." He brushed her hair out of her face and suddenly he stopped and asked her. "You are aren't you? My girl that is?"

Sasha had thought she couldn't be any more confused then she had been, but that was clearly wrong. She knew that those words sent her heart beating fast. She swallowed, and composed herself, for a moment, before smiling slowly,. "Yeah." She nodded, and then said "No, it doesn't matter what she said now"

Matt was curious but he didn't care as long as Sasha was happy. Matt just wanted to be able to start his relationship off with Sasha as honestly and cleanly as he could. He just wanted to have as normal a life as they could get in this world. He smiled at her and he grinned mischeivously. "Climb on." He turned his back to her and knelt down.

Sasha wasn't sure what Matt was going to do, but she didn't want to take away his smile. She gingerly climbed onto his back, both worried and not worried that she'd hurt him.

Matt rose up and bounced her up making sure she was on good and tight. "Wow, you are nearly weightless. My pack in the military weighed more than you do. Let's go check out the property. He carried her around like that for quite a while. They noticed a building further up and when they got closer Matt put her on her feet and he approached the building and he looked through the one window.

He backed up as he heard the noise that they made. He headed over to Sasha and handed her a dagger that he unsheathed. He grabbed the crowbar he had tied to his belt. "There are at least 5 in here." He got ready, nodded and pulled the door open. The walkers piled out fast and Matt just went into killing mode and before any of them could get near to Sasha they were on the ground dead.

Sasha was ready to use the dagger, but it didn't seem like she needed it. Still, she weilded it, watching the door just in case there were more. "How did they get in? This is still violets property, right?" She stepped closer as it seemed like there were no more, but she was ready to spring into action.

Matt nodded. "Yes it is still her property. It's highly likely that she locked them in so she could escape. Violet's pretty small so it might have been a necessity for her to get away." After making sure the area was cleared he smiled and took her hand and walked back towards the house.

After Nikki sat down and started to eat, Kyle had kissed her cheek and walked upstairs. He walked down the second floor, looking for Jacklyn's room. When he got there the guard seemed to have been able to place the walkie without Jacklyn noticing and he was on his way out. Kyle nodded to the guard and put his hand up to keep Jacklyn from leaving. He looked around then spoke softly.

"So..what do you think of my wife? Kinda aggressive huh? But I love her."

Jacklyn was slightly curious when Kyle stopped her.She rocked back on her heels, thoughtful. Just why was he asking her about his wife? "I think aggressive will help in surviving in this world, but that it can also get you killed. She's protective. I understand that" She shrugged, trying to sound like she was being reasonable, "But I'm guessing you don't really want to know my opinion. you're trying to figure me out?"

Kyle shook his head slightly.

"No I really want to know. I already have you figured out. It doesnt take much to figure out a survivor, especially for another survivor."

Kyle narrowed his eyes.

"Now I am going to give you one chance. Stop pretending and answer me honestly. Its just you and me right now......you havent met everyone but you have seen almost everyone. You met....huh well my wife was the leader of our group, then I was, and from what I could tell her brother was like co leader. But I am getting side tracked. You have seen our people, the weapons they carry, the way the woman who was leader since the beginning acts. What. Do. You. think?"

Jacklyn figured this was a dangerous game to play, but here she was. And she was sure she could win the game. "Why? I could be honest, and say she seems a bit cold, stand-offish, but that that is understandable given everything thats happened. You say she has been the leader since this began? That shows strength. Courage. Bravery, whatever. But she clearly doesn't like me, so that makes me wonder why you are here, demanding answers to peoples character when I only met them for what, a handful of minutes?" She said, deciding that the innocent girl act would just be a waste here. She had to show she was willing to be strong, and to stand up against this sort of attack.

Kyle shut the door, then walked over to where he saw the guard standing. He reached around, and pulled out the hidden walkie. He pressed a button and shut it off. Then he put it in his pocket and turned around to Jacklyn.

"I told Nikki that we were gonna moniter you secretly. I turned off the walkie. See Nikki doesnt trust you, she can see a part of what I see when I look at you. But I see the real you. The innocent girl routine you tried to pull, I nearly laughed."

Kyle took a few steps forward and stood in front of Jacklyn.

"You dont care about any of the lives here do you? You are willing to do whatever it takes for food and water, safety, the works. And you are willing to kill for it. I like that. Listen to my story and my offer."

Kyle sighed.

"Long story short, recently we lived in a school. My wife found out she was pregant with a very bad mans child, who also found his own group when he left her group and used all his power to try to destroy our group. Nikki and I married, then soon after a very good women was killed by someone who left our group for the other mans group. This killer was someone who should have obviously been taken care of at once. Then he kidnapped Nikki. In the process Nikki lost the baby. I found her and got her back, killing many many men and horribly scarring her kidnapper. I did not kill him, but I am sure he is dead by now. So many things have happened because no one in this group, save one dead woman, was willing to do the hard choices. My question is.....are you?"

Jacklyn was amused that he thought he knew her. She was quite content to let him believe he did, and she listened to his story, resisting the urge to just tell him to shut up. She wasn't surprised at all by the walkie, and given that she wasn't likely to talk out loud, it wasn't really a problem for her.

When he finally seemed finish, Jacklyn nearly sighed in relief. What did she care about some other woman's problems? "So you are basically asking if I'll be you're assassin" that amused Jacklyn, and she decided that as long as he thought she was a chained dog, then she could have a bit of fun. "Why not? I want to live, and yeah, I'm not afraid to do what needs to be done"

Kyle nodded.

"Good. Believe it or not there is a reason I told you that boring ass story. Im not going to say I will be giving you daily targets to take out, but if there are any problems in the group, or any outside force attacks I need to know someone can discreetly...take care of any problems that may arise. I would do it myself but I am on thin ice in this regard. The people in this group......they are family to me but they can be dumb as shit sometimes."

Kyle held out his hand.

"In return, I will make sure your place here is secure and you will basically be able to get away with anything. Just try not to cause too much trouble...and get caught."

Kyle chuckled slightly.

Jacklyn took his hand "Oh, i'll be sure not to get caught" She said, stepping back, she wondered just how much fun she could have with this. Tear the whole group apart, maybe. Still, she'd have to be careful about just what she did. "Well. Pleasure doing business with you, but I'd really like to sleep unless there's someone you want me to kill right now" She walked over to the bed, unconcerned with turning her back on him. She sat down, well pleased.

Kyle laughed. He turned around and re placed the walkie but left it off.

"Nah. Your fine. Have a good rest. "

Kyle gave her a two finger salute, and right before he left the room he turned around, fished something out of his pocket, and tossed it next to Jacklyn. He tossed her a milky way.

"Welcome to the group."

Kyle walked back downstairs and looked for Nikki.

Ethan Blackledge

The spaghetti hoops that were on Ethan's plate didn't even last a minute as he sat back on the chair content with life slowly wiping his mouth with that back of his hands. Spaghetti hoops reminded Ethan of his old life back in England, it was strange that it made him think of home but it was always the small things. Ethan was just happy that the house somehow still had electricity and running water, but he wasn't complaining, he'd not had a shower for quite some time.

As Ethan stood up, a new girl walked in. Cute, Ethan casually thought as he went and grabbed his bat from the rucksack and wandered off outside. He wanted to check out the area. If they were planning on staying here, they would need some type of defences. Some fences around the place would keep a few walkers at bay. Quite a few people back at Dana Point were killed by an individual Walkers sneaking up on them, so if Ethan could prevent that, he would. But first it was best to make sure that they wanted to stay here.

There was nothing really eventful that happened on the rest of his walk, all he did was check were the fences should go then went back to the house. As he walked back into the house, most of the people seemed to be in the kitchen so Ethan went and leaned against the worktop. "So what now?"

Nikki Hishamie

Nikki grabbed her bag and the keys and she walked out the door of the farm house and she got into the car. As soon as the engine was started the passenger side door opened and Matt and Gracie slid in. Nikki glanced at Matt as he closed the door. "So, where we going?" Nikki put the car in drive and drove away from the farmhouse.

Nikki didn't say anything for a few minutes. She wasn't sure how to bring it up. She knew he would have noticed. "Matt? You've seen Kyle's behavior lately...since that new girl arrived. He seems to think that I don't notice all the private meetings they seem to have. Do you think he is cheating on me? I figure I didn't notice the last time when Nolan did it maybe I'm just blind."

Matt seemed taken aback by the question. He had noticed the conversations she was referring to but that didn't mean Kyle was cheating. Maybe he was just talking to the girl. He knew that would be worse. Talking a lot would mean a connection to her and that would be worse than just fucking her. "I don't know sis. I haven't caught them in the act or anything. That's how I found out about Nolan. If I find out anything for certain I'll let you know but as of right now I'd have to say no."

Nikki nodded. "We are going into town and we are going to find a better place than the farmhouse. We need a place sturdier than the house and the barn. There are too many ways in if you count all of the windows that could easily be broken. I spoke to Kyle about this a month ago and he ignored it. I'll do it myself. I want someplace secure before I get too big to fight." Matt chuckled.

When they approached the town there was a grocery store, a gas station and a 2 story school amid various other buildings. Nikki went straight to the school and got out. The school was smaller than the other one but it was still plenty big enough and there were fewer windows. She smiled. At least the Texas heat had been considered. Matt handed Grace to her and told her to get back into the car. He took the crowbar off of his hip and pried the lock open and went inside the building. He came out and waved to her to come on in. It appeared to have been locked up before Day 0. Everything was exactly the way it was left. He had found that not all of the rooms had electricity. It appeared that there were some breakers tripped. Matt went room to room looking for walkers and was completely shocked not to find any at all.

Matt grinned and looked at Nikki smiling. "Alright, I'll go let the others know and when we get back we'll have to go on a supply run. I'll leave Grace with you. I'll be back soon sis." Nikki laughed at Gracie as she slobber kissed her daddy. "Be good squirt, I'll be right back." Matt got into the car and went to the farmhouse. Nikki smiled to herself. She had found her new home.

Sasha

Sasha was walking around the outskirts of the farm boundaries, studying the plants she came across, seeking herbs that could be of use for healing. She kept an eye and ear out for walkers, although so far there hadn't been any on this trip. She had her dagger, and was quite ready to use it. The small bag she carried she had a handful of herbs, but there wasn't much. She was thinking that maybe they'd have to go into town and see if they could scrounge up, at the very least, antibiotics.

She glanced up as the sun came overahead, and deciding that she had been out long enough, she began to head back to the farm house. She enjoyed the time outside, but she was well aware the place wasn't truly safe, despite the time they had been there.

At the sound of someone approaching, Sasha shifted , sliding one foot back, She drew her dagger, ready to leap and stab a walker in the head. A chuckle caused her to relax, and she glared at Jacklyn. "Aw, the little kitty has claws" the woman said, and Sasha rolled her eyes, putting her dagger away.

"What do you want?" Sasha asked, a little coldly. She didn't particularly like the woman. She had seen her looking at Grace as if the girl was something she would throw out a window, and Sasha had kept an eye on her everytime the woman got close to Grace. Sasha already loved that little girl so much, there wasn't anything she wouldn't do for her. Maybe that was dangerous, but Sasha had already decided that the future was for Gracie.

"Why, to talk! You always seem to avoid me. Scared, little kitty?" Jacklyn said, with clear amusement. Sasha stood straight, and slung the small bag over her shoulder. "Why should I be scared of someone that doesn't know what they are doing, in this world, except get rid of anyone that maybe in her way to surviving?" She said, as she debated moving around Jacklyn and continuing onto the farm house.

Jacklyn laughed, "Oh, you think you know me. How sweet. Survivngs the point, little kitty. If we don't survive, we die. More importantly if I don't survive, I die. And I don't plan on dying"

Sasha shook her head, and pushed her way passed Jacklyn, "You're already dead, then". Sasha would never quite know how she knew Jacklyn was seeking to grab her, but she did. She spun about, pulling her dagger out and slashing it across Jacklyn's palm. "Don't touch me"

Jacklyn stared at her blood curiously, more amused then angered. "Well, thats not what your man s-" Sasha started to laugh at the pathetic attempt to throw her off guard. "You're right. He likes my touch. Not sure anyone can say that off you though. You may be pretty but...you're pathetic" Slipping her dagger away, Sasha stalked off to the farm house. This time, Jacklyn didn't seek to stop her.

Damn sociopath Sasha thought to herself, but she had nothing really to prove that. Retreating to the room she shared with Matt, and Gracie. She threw the bag on the bed, making a note to remove it so Grace wouldn't have fun with the herbs, she went to the bathroom, using an old rage to clean off her dagger, before returning, putting the herbs away in her pack, which was, despite the months safety, still packed, the clothes she had washed the day before were dry and folded away. She knew that at any moment, they might have to leave, and she didn't want to leave half her supplies behind again.

The she headed down to the living aarea.

Matthew Hyatt

Matt arrived back at the farmhouse and went inside. He went into the living room, he saw Sasha and kissed her, then he made an announcement. "Hey Everyone! Can I have your attention! Nikki and I have decided that we are going to move into the school. Everything looks good and it is sturdy and stronger than the farmhouse is in case of both a hoard or weather related issues. Everyone who is going with us get your stuff together. We'll be leaving shortly."

Violet looked up. They had been here a month and now they were just going to up and leave her? "Matt? Can I come too?" Matt walked over to her and looked down at her and smiled. "Of course you can. I was going to ask you to come and if you are would it be okay if we took as much of the furniture in the house with us so there would be beds and some normal dishes and things like that too?" Violet smiled and got excited. "Absolutely! I'll need help getting things over there. I'm guessing Grace and Nikki are at the school." Matt nodded. "Yes, We'll have the guards load everything up on this end and we'll unload it at the other end. I don't want you here alone anymore. It's really not safe." Violet nodded. "I really didn't know how bad it was out there. I figured I could live here alone but I don't want to be alone anymore." Violet went upstairs to pack her stuff and so did Matt. Sasha had her stuff packed and ready to go and most of Matt's was already ready to go. Mostly it was Gracie's stuff that needed repacking.

Matt loaded his, Sasha's, Gracie's and all of the medical stuff and the kitchen dishes, pots and pans, silverware and all other things kitchen into the trunk in boxes. He loaded everything he could find as Ingrid started loading the next car. The guard started taking beds down to the truck and loaded the beds first. They could always come back later but beds were important. Blankets and pillows towels and other such stuff were piled in wherever they could fit them. Matt looked around and wondered where Kyle was.

Ethan Blackledge

Everyone found out the new plan about moving into the town school pretty quickly. It seemed like a better idea than living at the farm house, Ethan had no idea what the school looked like but it would probably be easier to keep everyone safe. Ethan had been searching all over the farm gathering tools that he could use to for any number of things.

The month in the farm went quicker than Ethan expected, but it did take them quite a while to decide to where to actually go. He knew that everyone didn't really want to stay at the farm house forever, so it was good that they no had a place to go and actually try and create a life.

The sun was beaming down as Ethan started to walk back to the house from the barn. There was a lot of commotion outside of the house as everyone went about their business getting everything ready for the move. Ethan was carrying a massive tool box which he was happy with, if he could manage to find enough planks of wood, there would be a lot he could do. Hopefully there would be a library in the town and maybe books on fletching arrows, Ethan hadn't been able to practise his archery since leaving Dana Point so it would be good to go back to that.

Ethan chucked the toolbox into one of the boots of a car and quickly went upstairs to grab his jacket and his rucksack from the room he'd been sharing with Violet. His jacket hadn't been really used since they came to Texas, it was always warm to Ethan compared to what the weather was like in England. When he walked into the room Violet was in the room, Ethan casually went and laid on the bed watching her. "How's the packing going?" He said to her with a smile.

Violet Braddock

Violet had really become close to the people in this group over the weeks. She really liked Ethan a lot. He was smart and sweet and she liked that about him. She smiled at him, "We are taking everything in the house and I'm taking my horse. I've already got it figured out. He can graze in the field behind the school. It's fenced in so walkers won't get to him easily and he will be safe." Violet looked around happy about the move. She had already wondered what they were going to do when the walkers that occasionally went past on the highway detoured because of all the activity at her place right off of the main road there.

Violet pulled a huge bag out from under the bed. Confused she opened it up and found several bows and at least a hundred arrows. "Huh, Nikki must have shoved this under the bed that first night here." She showed Ethan. "I heard her mention that they had used them at the other school when they were attacked but I didn't realize that they had gotten them out. That's pretty cool." Violet said. She only packed up the most necessary stuff first and she asked Ethan, "Ethan can you go put this in the car Matt is driving? I'm sure he will want to know where they are."She went right back to putting things in boxes and took the sheets and blankets out of the linen closet and put it all together to go to the school.

Sasha, Matt, Jacklyn, Nikki, Kyle

@Wick@dabombjk@josephb@kurai assassin

The announcement to move wasn't really surprising to Sasha. They had been lucky so far on the farm, but that couldn't last forever. As things started to be packed up and loaded, she did what she could to help, spying Jacklyn with a now bandaged hand, she didn't feel particularly sorry about cutting her. She avoided the other woman as much as she could, heading outside, to what crops were ready, thinking that if they needed to, what ones weren't ready they could come back later, but at least they'd have some fresh stuff while they set up at the school.

Ingrid came out back to the garden and smiled when she saw Sasha. "Hey, I guess it's great minds think alike huh?" She said smiling at the haul of fresh veggies Sasha had already.   "I'm going to run the first car up and start unloading. I'm not liking that Nikki and Gracie are up there on their own right now. You want to come with me? The guys will go back and forth with the truck and get the big stuff." Ingrid helped Sasha with the vegetables and she went to the trunk of the car and put the veggies in a large pot in there and hopped into the car.

Sasha looked up and returned Ingrid's smile, nodding "Sure, i'll go with you. I don't like that idea either"She rose as they finished, glancing about to make sure they hadn't left any behind, before following Ingrid to the car, climbing in as well. She looked about the farm, wondering if it would still be there,if they'd ever see it again.

Kyle sighed in frustration when Matt came back with his announcement. He figured Nikki would do something like this, and he repeatedly said that going to another school was a bad idea. But he wasnt going to fight her on this, it really wasnt worth the headache that would follow. And while he did like the farm, it was not their farm. Technically they stole it. That made Kyle chuckle slightly. Never would have imagined stealing a farm.

Kyle went upstairs, inside the house, to his room and packed his duffel bag. He packed a few clothing items, some ammo, a spare hunting knife, and a handgun. He checked to make sure he had all his weapons and everything he needed already on him, then swung the duffel bag over his shoulder. Kyle looked around the room some more, and to his surprise he found something they had missed before in the closet. Kyle picked up a small camera, one of the ones that printed the photo after it was taken directly from the camera. Kyle smiled, and packed it in his duffel bag. Then he made sure he packed anything of Nikki's, swung the second bag around his shoulder, then went back outside. Kyle went to his impala and drove over closer to the rest of the group. He put his bags in the back seat and offered anyone who wanted to ride shotgun, shotgun. His last car crew had gotten eaten before they had found the farm, so he didnt have anyone to ride with.

Jacklyn watched as they all began to pack up, she did just enough to avoid being called out, but not enough that she was straining herself. Her own things, meager as they were, were quite easy to pack up, and she was soon finished, cursing silently to herself everytime she hurt her injured hand. Who knew that the girl had the balls to do that? She hadn't, and that wasn't a mistake she was going to make twice. Now that she knew...well, she could have her fun still.

Heading outside, she sighed at the change in her own plans, but made sure she didn't let that show. She took Kyle up on his offer for a ride to anyone quite cheerfully and walked over to the car.

Kyle grinned and before he got into the vehicle, he made sure everyone else was ready to go. Some people needed a few seconds longer, but it was fine. Kyle made sure everyone had a ride, then got into his car. He fastened his seat belt, and started the car. He looked over at Jacklyn and in a obviously joking voice he spoke to her.

"Now little lady, done did need you to fasten that there seat belt,"Kyle said in his best country accent.

Jacklyn smiled, setting her things in the car, before getting in herself. "Because that's what we're worried about. Death by crash" She chuckled, but she put her seatbelt on all the same. "I don't think this school is a good idea, it was abandoned for a reason after all" She brushed her hair back out her eyes, "And towns attract people"

Ingrid pulled up to the school. She hadn't waited for anyone else. This car was full and she knew that if anything happened that Nikki would not be able to fight with Grace on her hip for long. Once inside the parking lot she closed off the gate and went inside the front door. "Nikki? Where are you?" Ingrid said.  "Everyone else is a few minutes behind us. Sasha and I are here now." She just about jumped out of her skin when the breaker was flipped and the lights came on around her.  Nikki and a babbling Gracie appeared a moment later.

"Good, glad you guys made it! I'm liking this school. It's got most of the same stuff the other one but no earthquakes are likely in Texas." Nikki grinned. Ingrid waved Sasha in and she started to unload stuff into the front hallway.  "First ones here get to pick their rooms!" Grace laughed and giggled like a goofball and Ingrid gave her a tickle and a toy.

Kyle drove, having a slightly hard time with Matt's directions. No matter how good of a fighter he was, he was completely clueless when it came to directions. While he and Jacklyn were, albeit actually not far from the school, they drove past what seemed to be still a working gun range. Kyle looked back, then back to Jacklyn.

"Hmm. Seems like that Shooting range still has some munitions, and has some power. Must be running off a seperate generator...."

Kyle raised an eyebrow.

"You wouldnt happen to wanna go shoot shit would you?"

Sasha was relieved to find Nikki and Grace safe, and she glanced around the school. It looked like it had been shut down a while, and there didn't appear to be any sign that walkers had ever been in there. That seemed positive, especially if they could secure all the doors and windows well. She helped Ingrid to unload the car, glancing about every so often to ensure there were no walkers about.

"Have you found the nurse's office, Nikki? There might be some supplies there we can use" She asked, after they had finished unloading, not particularly worried about a room.

Jacklyn glanced over at the shooting range, "That seems like a waste of perfectly good bullets. Lets do it" She said, although she did wonder how it could have power still, they were at what, over 100 days since the out break. Part of her wondered if it was a trap, the other part didn't truly care.

Kyle grinned and did a quick U turn, parking fast into the shooting range parking lot. Kyle got out of the car and looked at the front of the building. There was blood splatters everywhere on the walls, and the door was partially hanging off its hinges. From here he could see the counter inside and the weapons and ammunition. He got a bad feeling, like this was a trap. Too many little things he could see worried him, but Kyle pushed the thought aside. If they were attacked, they would be able to fight them off.

Kyle walked inside, hand gun drawn, and cleared the room. He poked his head out of the door.

"Yo Jacky, no one is here,"

Kyle turned back around and walked behind the counter, and he couldnt help but smile. Everything between a M16a4 to a 240 Bravo was here with enough ammunition to...well survive an apocolypse.

Jacklyn studied the building, not following Kyle in straight away. She wondered how easy it would be to grab what she could, and then shoot them all. But then she'd lose her security when she wasn't quite ready to. Still, she enjoyed the thought. As Kyle called out to her, she went in, glancing about. It looked like there had been a sort of stand off in the building. The dead against the...well, they'd be dead now. She very nearly chuckled at her train of thought, but kept herself composed.

Looking about at all the weapons, the bullets, she couldn't help but wonder if all of it had been there before the dead came. There didn't look like to be anyone about, but that didn't mean there wasn't. "Maybe we should just take what we can and get out of here. Blood tends to attract the dead, one way or another."

Kyle heard Jacklyn, and considered it, but shook his head.

"We will be fine, worse comes to worse we kill a ton of walkers."

Kyle then laughed, pointed his gun to the ceiling, then fired a round off.

"Besides, I think that just maybe guns make more of an attraction noise than blood."

Jacklyn gave a sigh. While she wasn't adverse to having a good time, she was when it affected her own safety. Again she contemplated just shooting Kyle, but then she'd have to come up with a good, believeable story as to why she arrived at the school without him. And no one would believe her. She rolled her eyes, and leaned back against the counter.

"That maybe so, but do you really wish to attract every walker in this town and lead them towards the school?" She asked, trying to play on his better nature. Good people were so easy to mess with, she knew how to push their buttons.

"Even with all this ammunition, we would probably find it hard to fight off a herd just the two of us."

Kyle paused, and for a few moments he was silent. Then he picked up an M16, slapped a full clip into it, readied it, and shot the ceiling again. Kyle laughed again.

"What because you cant manipulate them with your honey words and cute figure? Im ex military, if I any herd comes toward us you can sit out if you want. And I will kill anything that threatens my group, even if im the cause of the threat."

Bold words, but Kyle felt hollow saying them. He loved Nikki and he knew he should just go back to the school, but he wasnt ready yet. A lot of crap he had to deal with came back up when Nikki made Matt make the announcement that they were moving into another school. This isnt the first time Kyle has disagreed with Nikki on her decisions either. But he mentally sighed. It wasnt worth the headache. He calmed himself then walked over to the shooting posts. There was already a few lanes set up, Kyle pressed the button to start his lane then took careful aim and began firing.

As the other vehicles started to show up and start unloading she grinned as Ingrid took Grace. Nikki heard her brother and she opened the door in time to see him sitting in the bed of the truck on top of six box springs and mattresses. He was pretending to be a redneck and she started laughing at him. She was a little concerned that he might fall off of the 12 foot high bed. "Yes the nurses' office is near the attendance office. Sasha come look at this. My brother is such a joker."

Nikki looked past him and at the other cars. Not seeing the impala she frowned. When she saw Violet on horseback she grinned. "Did Kyle stay back at the farmhouse to pack up the next load?" Violet shook her head. "No, he left before we did him and that Jackie girl."

Nikki felt the lump in her throat and she nodded and went back into the building. She was angry so she went into the kitchen and started to unpack things. Darius came in because of all the noise she was making. "Nikki? You ok?" She slammed a big pot on the counter and said, [color=f49ac2]  "Yeah Darius I'm great. What do you need?" He winced at the loud noise. "I was just coming to make sure you were ok. It's kinda loud in here."

Nikki asked Darius,   "When Kyle gets here can you tell him I want to speak with him?" Darius nodded and walked out of the kitchen in a hurry.

Jacklyn sighed, "Just because you are ex-military doesn't mean you can take on hundreds, if not over a thousand, walkers single handedly. No offense, but I don't want to die, and if it comes down to me or you, it's going to be me who survives. and its not just the dead we need to worry about. What about all those "threats" you want me to deal with, other humans? Or will you just let them walk all over and kidnap your people again?" Jacklyn knew that was a risk to say, but she was beyond caring right then.

"You can stay here, I'm heading to the school. Least i can make sure I don't get blamed for your stupidity when you become walker bait"

She grabbed a few weapons, thinking that if she went to the school with weapons, that would at least convince some of them she was on their side. She couldn't drag Kyle with her, so if he wanted to mope about and shoot things, and probably attract his own death she wasn't going to stop him. It would be one less person she'd have to deal with if he got himself killed, although she'd be saddened that she couldn't watch his death.

Heading out the building, she headed in the direction she thought the school was.

Sasha followed Nikki out when she called to her, thinking she had no idea where the attendance office was either, but she'd figure it out. She started to ask what it was, but saw for herself. She smiled, but did wonder how Matt had managed to stay on, during the ride down. She watched Nikki go back inside after asking after Kyle, and frowned slightly. She wondered if Jacklyn had done something to Kyle, and she worried that she should have mentioned the woman cornering her that morning.

Perhaps she was just being foolish. She looked back to Matt and smiled again "How did you not fall off?"

Kyle finished with his target practice and brought his paper target forward to him. He checked the hit marks, and felt a slight nudge of pride at the accuracy of the hit box. Kyle brought the M16 with him back to the counter, and set it down. He looked around, and spotted a few big bags, large enough to carry quite a few weapons. He grabbed three bags, and loaded them with M16's, MP4's, hunting rifles, and even a machine gun. His very own 240, which Kyle was very happy to hold. He packed the third bag with enough ammunition to last a large fight with the entire school and put the bags in the trunk of his impala.

Thats when he started hearing the noises. Soft growling and thumping noises, Kyle looked behind him to see a horde of walkers walking through the side of buildings and down the street. All coming for him. He smiled, pulling out his hand gun and hunting knife.

"Bring it on you sons of bitches,"Kyle said softly.

Kyle mainly used his knife at first, stabbing walkers in the head. After a few minutes he began to get surrounded and he was forced to use his gun. But he stayed alive, and stayed unbitten.

Nikki heard the gunfire and she ran out the front door and looked down the street. Matt jumped down 15 feet to the ground and grabbed two of the AK's from the truck tossing one to Nikki. She made sure the clip was full and Matt had to run to keep up with her. Darius ushered the others into the school and stayed ready by the door.

Nikki turned the corner and saw the Impala first. She turned her head and saw Kyle fighting the walkers. He was way too close for her comfort so she shot at the walkers dropping them like flies alongside her brother and her husband. When the walkers were gone she hugged Kyle and then she looked at Matt who was trying to figure out where a large group of walkers came from way out there. They were at least 50 miles from the nearest big city.

Nikki looked at Kyle,   "What in the world are you doing over here? Where did what's her face go? Did they get her?" Nikki asked a little too hopefully.

After Nikki let go of Kyle, he simply shrugged at her questions. He looked down, and for moment all he could see was the blood on his knife, the shells on the ground, and the dead walkers. He felt like his skull was vibrating, and his blood was pumping in his ears. Then he simply calmed down as soon as all of what he had felt started.

"Dont know. You know me I am bad with directions, took a few wrong turns. Found a kick ass gun store and my trunk is loaded with shit. I even got a machine gun, but its my machine gun. I named it Johnny."

Kyle looked around, then back at Nikki.

"No idea where Jacky went. Said something about not wanting to die and left. Doesnt matter to me. By the way you got here quick, where is the school?"

Nikki looked at Kyle and he seemed off, kinda like when his PTSD was acting up.   "It's around the corner. Come on baby. I want to show you what I found." Matt wasn't sure where the walkers came from but he was sure it couldn't be a good thing. He kept looking back. He walked to the school and the Impala passed him with Nikki and Kyle inside it. He hurried and secured the gate back and then he got back to unloading. He kept the gun with him. He still didn't trust that 50 walkers just came out of nowhere in the farmlands.

When Nikki got back inside the school she saw Violet telling Ethan about the school. "This is the only school in the county. It's k-12 so there is pretty much everything here for all ages of kids. It also means that we will have a long drive to get supplies. The land behind the building is very fertile so we can plant there too. I put Heath in the pasture in the field on the left."

Nikki asked,   "Heath?" Violet grinned, "My horse. I named him after Heath Ledger because he was my favorite actor." Violet turned a little pink with embarrassment and said, "Yeah I know, it's weird."

Jacklyn made her way to the school, glancing back at the sound of Gun shots, she slid into the schools grounds. "Told him he'd attract the walkers" She said to herself, shrugging. She wasn't going to go back and risk her life. She watched as Nikki, and Matt dashed off, she entered the school when they were gone, looking about her. Curious, she dropped the guns by the door, keeping one with her, she made sure she had bullets as well, before beginning to search the school.

Sasha wanted to follow Nikki and Matt, but she knew she'd be more of a hinderance, armed only with her dagger. Listening to the gunshots, she tried to catch any sign of them, fearing that they wouldn't come back, that they were all going to be overrun. It brought back too many memories of her community being overrun, destroyed. She bit her lip as the shots stopped, but soon saw the impala, and sighed in relief. When she saw Matt, she darted out to him, giving him a tight hug, relieved that he was okay.

Violet Braddock

Violet went inside after putting her horse in the pasture and locking him into the fenced area. She went inside to take a look at the room situation and she realized that she and Ethan had been sharing a bed for a little over a month but they hadn't even kissed. They cuddled in their sleep and she felt his hands on her as she slept but he never seemed to remember anything. She wondered if he would still want to share a room or not. What did he think of her? They were definitely friends but did he have any feelings for her?

She saw Ingrid and Grace playing and she decided to take a break and play with them for a few minutes. She was exhausted. Up and moving all in one day was rough. She knew she would have to go back tomorrow and get things that they forgot. Her personal things, pictures of her family and other such miscellaneous stuff. She and Ingrid had found a friendship after the gun incident. She also knew that it was a tenuous friendship and it lived and died on Ingrid's mood. She sat across from Ingrid and Grace turned around and walked over to her. It was wobbly but she didn't hold onto anything. Ingrid lit up like a Christmas tree all in smiles. Violet laughed as the baby grabbed her and fell into her lap and giggled. Violet smiled at Grace and at Ingrid. "Do you think about the future Ingrid? I mean like as in getting married and having babies?" Ingrid smiled and said, "It's obviously on your mind." Violet blushed.

She saw the 6 beds being unloaded into the hallway. She went over and claimed her bed so it wouldn't get tossed into whatever room, she wanted her bed. "I guess I have to pick a room now." Violet wanted a room on the first floor and she wanted it to be close to the showers. After picking the room second from the far end of the hall she pushed the box spring down and put it in front of the room and then one of the guys helped her push her bed down there too. Then she went into the room and moved all of the desks to one side of the room and she pushed the box spring in and set it up facing the door and the guard who had helped her seemed to have disappeared. She got the bed into the room and then it kinda fell on top of her sending her to the floor and it landing on her leg. She laid back on the ground for a minute in defeat and breathed hard. Several minutes later she got to her feet and began pushing the bed onto the box spring. Violet was so out of breath she laid on the bed when she finished getting it done. After about 15 minutes she got up and went hunting the blankets and sheets that she had had on her bed.

When she stepped out of her room she saw Matt setting up the room on the corner for a medical room and Nikki and Kyle took the room 2 doors down from it giving him and Sasha the room in the middle. Violet went back to the cars and she opened the trunk she and Ingrid had filled and she began taking things in. She took the dishes and kitchen stuff into the cafeteria and set it on the only table that was pulled down. She walked past Ethan as he was unloading things and she stopped and said, "Umm, I don't know what you wanted to do. If you want to continue our sleeping arrangements or not but I set the bed up in room 26 on the first floor." Violet pulled the blankets and sheets out and headed inside hoping that the subject was enough to get him to follow her.

Sasha

As they were setting up, Sasha glanced around the room, wondering what it had been before the outbreak. There was a thin layer of dust settled over the floor, the furniture that was there, stirred up by the movement of getting the bed in there, of moving things around. So Sasha found a cloth, and began to clean the room, getting rid of the dust. Or as much of it as she could. She then made up the bed, pondering somethings. She set her backpack on the bed, and stood there staring at it for a few moments.

She hadn't unpacked at the farmhouse, because she had just assumed they wouldn't be staying htere, because she expected that...it wouldn't be permanate, wouldn't last. She didn't want to think like that here. She didn't want to expect that at any time, they could be overrun, that this could be taken away from them. She...she wanted to be happy, and to feel safe. To expect that they'd be here, a while, if not a long time.

She took a deep breath, and opened the pack, she found a place to put the spare clothes she had, what maegar belongs she had. She ended up sitting on the bed, staring at a photo. The only photo she had left in the entire world of her mother and father. She hadn't looked at it since she had snatched it from her room in the community. It was just the three of them, Sasha just going off to colleage, to start her medical degree.

She lay the photo down, and pressed her hands against her eyes, trying to stop the tears stinging her eyes. The last month, the grief hadn't overwhelmed her. Because she had avoided thinking about them, thinking about...about him. And yet...it was her parents she missed the most, her parents she wanted, her parents she couldn't stop seeing, dead. Was that...was that because she wanted them to know she...was okay? Was happy? That there was a little girl she loved more then anything, and that...that the father...that she cared a lot about Matt? Which threw her into confusion.

Overwhelmed, Sasha didn't seem to care that the door was open, that anyone could see her, if they cared to look in. She broke down, unable to stop the tears, unable to slow their fall. She curled into herself, moving her hands to cover her face. She was scared, terrifed of losing what she had found again. She didn't want to be alone again. The walker herd...the photo...everything just seemed to bring to home how much she had to lose again, how much she didn't want that, and how much she couldn't do to ensure it wouldn't happen.

She tried to bring herself back under control, but she couldn't seem to. She had been holding so much in that it seemed once she had broken the dam, she couldn't put a stopper in it once again. She tried so hard to, not wanting Matt to come it, to see her like this, but she didn't have the strength to stop.

Jon's demise

collaboration with @caits and @dabombjk

Matt was setting up in the medical room when he heard Sasha crying. He went into the room next door and wrapped his arms around her. He kissed the top of her head hugging her hard to him. Matt was trying to look at the good and not remember what happened at the last school. He didn't think he could survive that again. Matt mumbled into her ear. "We are going to be okay here. We won't have to worry as much. The building is solid and we don't get earthquakes in Texas they way that they do in California. I'll do everything in my power to keep you and Gracie safe." He held her while she cried.

Slowly, comforted, Sasha gained control, and she rubbed at her eyes, the tears stopping. She shook her head,"I know, its not that. I just...miss my parents" she said softly, reaching over to pick up the photo again. She hadn't taken it out once, and now..."They were looking for me. They could have gotten out" She stared at the photo, sure of that.

Kyle walked into the school with Nikki and Matt, Matt leaving them to go manuever around his own devices. He folllowed Nikki, arm in arm with her, to their new room. He would still need to bring in his bags from his own car, but for the moment their new room was set up to Nikki's taste. When the walked in, Kyle let go of Nikki and his eyes wandered around the room. He walked over and sat on the bed, stretching his arms.

"Babe, nice room. Hope it doesnt...you know...end up the same as our last room. You know like in flames."

Kyle laughed then winced from his bruises.

Nikki smirked at Kyle's comment. "Yeah well that would be nice. I think we will be better off because we are further out and there are less walkers out here. Mother nature wiping out our home was just bad luck." Nikki stopped speaking and turned and ran out of the room to the bathroom across the hall. When she returned a few minutes later she glared at Kyle in the most irritated way. "This is your fault. You and the baby both hate me. What did my poor stomach ever do to you?"

Ingrid came in just a moment later and chuckled seeing a pillow go flying at Kyle's head. "Did ya see where Jon went? Tha sneaky bastard has disappeared on me again. Always trying to do things before he is ready to." Nikki grinned still a little green around the gills. "Sorry I haven't seen him in a while. Last time, he was outside by the gates getting the guards set up."

"Okay, Miss Gracie is gonna hang out with you while I go look for my man." Nikki was immediately handed a giggling baby who kicked her in the stomach as she went into her arms. Nikki just about doubled over and tickled the baby. "Ah Grace not you too! My poor tummy." She set the baby down and watched her climb onto Kyle and jump on his stomach full force. "Serves you right!"

Ingrid chuckled on her way out.

Matt hugged Sasha. "I lost mine too. Mine didn't even have the comfort of being with or near each other. Nikki had to put our mom down and Dad was in a high rise downtown. There is no chance he got out of there alive. Nikki and I don't talk about them often. It's not something we had any control over so we try not to dwell on it. I understand though."

Kyle nearly doubled over as little miss Gracie jumped on his stomach. But when he recovered he laughed and held Gracie in the air and ever so slightly threw her in the air, then caught her.

"Silly girl, Pain hurts people!"

Kyle put Gracie on his shoulders and stood up, shaking ever so slightly to make Gracie bounce more.

Sasha gave a soft sigh, "It just hit me all at once, that they're gone." She said, at the time, she hadn't had any time to come to terms with what had happened, and afterwards...she just hadn't thought on it. "I know this place is pretty safe"

Nikki laid on the bed next to where Kyle had been playing with the baby. She closed her eyes and rested for a few minutes. Ingrid went out to the front where the guards were still setting up and she glanced around. "Darius? Have you seen Jon?" "He was over here a little bit ago. He heard something and went to check it out. He went that way." Ingrid nodded and she went in the direction that he pointed her in. She was feeling sure of the school and of the decision to move there what she wasn't sure of was if Jon was back to his normal self or not.

Ingrid saw something odd and as she squinted in the distance she saw something so horrifying she spoke into the walkie in her hand. Her voice trembling, raw with emotion and pain, "Kyle, I found Jon. Come out back and please, hurry."

Ingrid ran across the parking lot to the scene just on the other side of the fence. She couldn't stop the tears. Jon was lying on the ground. She couldn't fathom what happened to make him go outside of the fences. Then she saw it. He had followed a dog. The walker must have caught him off guard because it's bite was viscious and in the neck. It probably was an instant kill. Why in the hell there were pigs eating his remains was another thing entirely. Ingrid waited, watching her walker boyfriend and a dog being eaten by wild pigs and a walker was just more than she could take.

Kyles walkie talkie beeped to life, and he pulled out it off his belt from its clip. Immediatley the walkie burst ti life with Ingrids voice. He heard what Ingrid said, looked over at Nikki lying down, then sat baby Gracie next to Nikki. Gracie's disheartened baby talk nearly broke Kyles heart but he patted her on head and smiled.

"In a little bit, we can go vroom vroom. Gotta bounce."

Kyle made sure he had his weapons then kissed Nikki's forehead softly. Then he walked outside and across the parkiing lot to the fence. He saw Ingrid and walked over to her. He was about to say something when he caught sight of the horrible dead body ont he other side of the fence. He put a hand on Ingrids shoulder.

"You know what needs to happen. Do you want to do it or do you want me?"

Ingrid was unable to answer him for a moment. Her voice barely a whisper, "Just do it." She couldn't watch. Ingrid turned back towards the school and started walking slowly.

Blinded by tears and anger she saw Erin come out of the building and when she saw Ingrid she said. "Why are you crying? Did Jon die or something?" At that moment Ingrid became a ferocious beast and she turned back to Erin and before she could say anything her knife had sliced the crazy girl's jugular. She watched the light leave her and then she stabbed her in the head. "That was for Raven you little bitch."

A moment or so later Alex came out and he passed Ingrid and his common sense made him stay away from her. When Alex saw Erin he just walked off. Within a mile he would be eaten by a couple of walkers. Ingrid went inside and locked herself in her room and sobbed.

Kyle climbed over the fence, landing on the back of a walker. He pulled his knife out and stabbed the walker in the head. He quickly dispatched the other man killing fiends, then kneeled next to Jon. He wished he could say something inspiring, or something that Jon would have found comforting if he was alive but nothing came to mind.

"Lucky bastard. Went ahead and skipped the damn apocolypse without us huh? Well dont worry. More than likely the rest of us will follow in suit."

Kyle nearly stabbed Jon, then had a thought. He sheathed his knife and pulled out his gun. He looked at it.

"I know its a little risky but.....I mean I guess if it was me I would rather it be a gunshot than a knife stab. Its just....I dont know. But anyways..."

Kyle pointed the barrel of his gun at Jons head and pulled the trigger

"Peace out Jon."

Ethan Blackledge

Ethan was in one of the last cars that pulled up to the school. He decided to stay back a while and help load up the cars, so the work was finished quicker. When the car stopped, Ethan slowly got out, stretched and made an over the top yawn sound. Within a few minutes they were unloading the cars and taking them inside.

After a while of unloading all the equipment, Ethan started to look noticeably sweaty, the heat was a bit too much for him but he continued to work. Only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun, Ethan thought to himself with a smile.

When Ethan was walking through the halls carrying a massive box, he bumped into Violet who was stood outside of one of the rooms. It looked like everyone had started clearing the classrooms and were turning them into bedrooms. Violet asked him whether or not he'd be staying with her. In truth Ethan hadn't really thought about it. He wasn't the type of person to look that far into the future. Before he could actually think of an answer she walked into the room, leaving Ethan a little bit lost for words.

For a few seconds Ethan stood there, debating. He followed her into the room. "Yeah… I'll do whatever. I'm not too fussed. If you want me to stay, I'll stay." He waited a few seconds thinking of what to say, but he didn't know really what to say. "Well… I have to get back to business. The cars aren't going to unload themselves..." He tapped the box and smiled at Violet as he walked back outside of the room. He walked round the corner and leaned against the wall lightly smacking his head on the box, he hadn't felt that awkward in a while. Ethan was never really good expressing his feelings so he always seemed to make the conversations awkward. Sighing, Ethan pushed himself off the wall and went back to his work

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Later on as Ethan walked back downstairs and went to grab some more boxes from the car, he heard a scream and as he span around he witnessed Ingrid slashing a girls throat. Ingrid shrieked at the girl, but she was already dead. Ethan sprinted towards the girl who was lying on the ground, he had no idea what to do. As he looked up Ingrid was walking into school. "What the fuck have you done Ingrid?" He shouted at her in sheer disbelief.

Ingrid Ryan

Ingrid looked up and saw Ethan as he screamed at her. "Don't give me that she shoulda been killed weeks ago. She cut Raven's head off for God's sake! I gave her time she shouldn't have had. Now my Jon is dead and she wants to tease me about it? Fuck her!" Ingrid went inside and to her room. She locked the door and lay on the bed.

Ingrid's heart was in tatters and she was closing herself off just a little bit more. If she wasn't careful she would turn cold. She knew Ethan probably had missed the entire, Raven being murdered situation. It happened the same time as everything else had. She couldn't blame him for being upset, he didn't know so why wouldn't he be?

Nikki knocked at the door and Ingrid opened it a little bit. "Ingrid?" Nikki eased into the room and crawled into the bed behind her and held her tight as Ingrid's tears fell.

Enzo Augustine

It's been a few days now, not having contact with anyone else since the group he was once with, ended up dead from the inner turmoil that also caused him and his brother to split up. Since then, Enzo has been looking for his bro with no success but have been hiding out near the school until noticing some vehicles that have shown up with a few people present.

With a smirk, Enzo looked around, making sure there were no attention drawn to this group who just arrived and headed towards the school to meet his potential acquaintances. Sporting his backpack, and his weapons he kept kept in there but only having his butcher knife and cleaver visible, he approached the school and the people there.

Matt was helping the other guys finish unloading the truck when Ingrid sliced Erin and dropped her like a fly. Matt went to say something but he had also heard what had just happened to Jon over the walkie. He sighed heavily. Erin had been a little better in some ways, Clara had not been surfacing, but she was still pretty crazy so when she teased Ingrid about Jon's death he wasn't surprised that it happened, just how fast Ingrid's reflexes were. She barely blinked an eye at Ethan as he yelled at her. Ethan hadn't been there for the revelation of Raven's death. Ingrid passed right by Alex as he followed Erin outside about a moment behind her. The instant grief on Alex's face was something Matt understood and he just walked off into the distance.

Matt turned back to the truck as a couple of the other guards took Erin's body over to where Kyle had just put down walker Jon. Matt looked up to see another living, breathing guy walking towards him. "Hey." Matt walked towards him and offered him his hand to shake. "You from around here?"
