The unthinkable happened. A virus. At first, it seemed of little threat. Coughing, sneezing, nausea. It started off like the the flu. Of course, a vaccine came quickly. Then came the other symptoms. Slowly people began to get more paranoid. Then violent. Soon, reason was lost. People were slowly driven insane, attacking one another with little to no provocation. Simple arguments ending in bloodshed and death.

First it was just a few towns. Then cities. Then states. Then entire countries, until the very world itself was afflicted by this mysterious virus that slowly drove people insane. It wasn't long before the governments fell from within. And then--the world. Now all that is left are small pockets of survivors. The disease itself spread very quickly. Fortunately for Humanities sake, the disease also killed relatively quickly too. It would eventually burn itself out, killing faster than it could spread.

But the damage has been done. There are very few people left who can remember the times before. 17 years have passed. What is left of humanity is surviving by a thread. Bandits, the plague itself, the sanity of the survivors trying to stay alive in a hostile world. Life is not easy.

How will you survive in this post-apocalyptic mess of disease, despair, and human greed? Will humanity come back from this, or will we fall extinct? Only time will tell.

Alright, so that's the story, here are the ground rules:

Posting: I only require 3 to 4 posts a week. If you WANT to post more, by all means--please do. But I personally will likely not be able to do much more than that, so I don't expect more of anyone else

Casual posting: I REQUIRE causal level posting. NO one liners. I'd like to see at very least, a paragraph. THAT SAID: If you want to write more, I encourage you to do so. Personally, I'll be writing a lot, but I don't want to tie anyone down with an "advanced" level. As long as you write at least a paragraph, it's fine. If you write more, I will be very thrilled and it will encourage ME to write more too :D

Story: I have some things planned for the story. I don't have YOUR character death's in mind, but if you WANT your char to die, PM me. We can make a suitable death. There will be some "staged" moments where events happen that are supposed to lead us to a certain path. If that happens, it will be obvious. Please just let that happen. Trust me, you will KNOW, I promise.

Fun: Have fun, give suggestions, and enjoy the RP! I want this to be fun for everyone! Also, if you want to contact me for whatever reason, do so! I want everyone to enjoy this RP. It is inspired by The Walking Dead and I intend it to be very story driven with a lot of action too, that makes sense for the plot!

Biography:

At 32 years old, Navarro spent his entire life working in carpentry. Always skilled with with his hands, he loved to build. He also loved to whittle, and as a child he had a large collection of hand crafted figures. His life was a pretty ordinary one. He had his two best fiends, Christa and Vincent, and a cat.

When the virus hit, Nav was in Alexandria VA, working on an apartment complex in the tourist trap town. It didn't take long for the WHO to act, quarantining first state borders, then the individual cities, and finally the entire country. Navarro was stuck in Alexandria, unable to get to those he cared about.

In less than a year, society itself had collapsed. The virus, which the media had nicknamed the Withering Scourge, tore through humanity. Later, Society would shorten it to The Scourge or the Withering. Most who have survived this far are either immune or just plain lucky. People still take precautions if they have them. N95 masks, respiration masks, hazmat suits if they can find them. But the truth is, the disease moved too fast. It burned itself out before it could finish off humanity. Maybe there are a few places the virus resides, but mostly it is gone now.

Still some infected do exist. Some that have yet to die. They are insane, they only wish to kill or maim, to spread the disease that has infected their own brains. They are not smart, they have been overcome. Early symptoms include fever, hallucinations, and a penchant for violence. Then bleeding from the Orifices, such as the eyes, mouth, and nose. Then...death.

Navarro himself doesn't know if he was immune or just lucky. He is just trying to find his friends, to save them from the hell that awaits. He believes Humanity can conquer this, and he strives to triumph over the tiny, seemingly insignificant virus. And he is willing to sacrifice all for said belief.

Job: None, born after apocalypse began.

Bio: Jack was born into Hell. Or, that's what his mom called it. They were actually in Salisbury, Maryland. She was determined to keep him and his brother shut out from the plague, and to give them a proper education. And she right well did. Jack was taught how to do Calculus, infer the differences between each layer of Earth, and how most civilizations rose and fell. When his brother caught the virus, Jack's whole world was turned upside down. His mother acted like his brother was healthy, and pretty soon she had it. Determined to not catch the virus, he grabbed the rifle his father had from the military, a M4. He quickly killed his brother and mother. After what happened on that day, Jack was never the same. He quickly became a nomad, traveling wherever he needed to go.

Personality: Jack is slightly cold, often solving things by taking the most brutal and efficient approach if it means saving his friends and himself. Even though he cares for his friends dearly, he would never sacrifice himself for them, and openly admits to it.

@WildRose no max age limit, you can play a 90 year old if you wanted to. Just bear in mind the RP takes place 17 years after things went to crap, so if you're playing an older character, they would have memory of the world before. I wanted more of a walking dead type feel so I wanted adult characters to know what the world was like before all the bad stuff happened

Age: 21

Job: No Job. Just starting kindergarten when the virus broke out.

Biography: As a child, you always think that the world around is prefect. Nothing bad will happen, and your parents will protect you from everything. They are your protectors, you think they know it all, and the people turn to when you get a boo-boo. The world is a huge unexplored area waiting for the child's mind to grow and expand. Children are taught to explore and learn from this beautiful planet, and to not fear anything. However, that seemed to have changed in a matter of a few weeks for every child born during this time.
Guinevere was only four years old. The worse times of her life. She lost her parents shortly after the outbreak. Ginny couldn't remember what her father did for a living, but she did remember he worked for the public. He was one the first to get infected. Her parents were already suffering from marriage issues, and when he became infected.. her mother took her to the county to escape the virus. Shortly after running into the country, her mother received a call to return back home. Ginny and her mother went back into the hell hole of a city, only to loose her mother in a car accident.
Ginny survived, but was tossed into multiple orphanages till she 17. She escape the abuse and hell each one put her through. She barely left with anything, just her mothers necklace and the clothing on her back. Shortly after she left, she went onto a mission to find her old home, and the accident her mother past away in.
When she found her old home, it was visibly raided. Nothing really was left, except... crap. Ginny searched the house for anything, when she came across her mothers office. The door itself was locked. After sometime of preying it open, the room looked as if it stood in time. Ginny discovered some important stuff. She decided to clean the home, and make it her own. She never had a place of her own.
Living in this place posed problems. Raiders, people wanting to live there, and she shit always getting stolen. Finding new ways to keep her home safe, she would explore the area to ward off people and find more supplies. She could never get close to people and in this new world, it seemed to work just great.
