πΈ π‘ π‘ π π π£ π π π π :Lena is a tall, slender young lady, with about an average sized chest and thighs that are a bit thicker than she'd like.
Other than that, though, she's pretty much okay with her body - she doesn't feel she's anything special, but she knows she could always be uglier. She has very pale skin, forest-green eyes, freckles dappling her face and shoulders, and long, straight blonde hair with blunt bangs that she only ever puts up out of necessity. She can usually be found sporting USARILN East's "school colors" - black, grey, and white - in any particular arrangement, but her go-to and favorite is a particular outfit of hers that involves a grey sundress, dotted in white, and yellow pumps that she usually outfits with a couple yellow bangles around both of her wrists.
Additionally, while it isn't visible in this image, random portions of her skin are cool, smooth, steely metal as opposed to soft, pliable skin. These metallic sections of her are magnetic, negatively charged, in both the sense that she sticks to other magnets and that other magnets stick to her.
β π π£ π€ π π π π π π₯ πͺ :Firstly, if her favorite outfit doesn't give it away, her favorite non-monochrome color is yellow. Secondly... Lena is the quiet, introspective type, but this doesn't stretch far enough to deem her reserved - she often finds herself curious about others, but finds herself subtly observing them from afar as opposed to approaching and attempting to befriend them. When she does open her mouth to speak, you can be sure she's thought greatly on what she's going to say - this, and, for someone so quiet, she can be very witty if someone rubs her the wrong way.
Speaking of observation, Lena is notably intelligent, both academically and generally - the Honor Roll type. Additionally, she's fair both in complexion and in personality; even if she has been seriously wronged, she's always willing to give someone a second chance, and she always makes good on any debts she may fall into with someone.
Finally, she's somewhat of a hopeless romantic, but she really keeps this fact under lock and key.
One of the main reasons she's as comfortable with being at USARILN East is the thought of some stunning individual with powers similar to her own may come and sweet her off her feet..... but she'd never admit this to anyone but herself.Lena has few fears aside from even the thought of any harm coming to those she cares about, even though those she genuinely cares about are few and far between, and her hobbies mottly consist of blogging, chess, and collecting seashells.
Despite herself, she really enjoys the ocean. She also has a minor affinity for fashion, but doesn't consider her taste, well, tasteful enough to express fully.
β π π€ π₯ π π£ πͺ :Lena hails from an adequately sized coastal town in the United States - New Jersey, specifically. Her parents were upper, /upper/ middle class, so getting what she wanted was never a problem - getting the affection she wanted, though, was. Eventually, though, she adapted to her lonely lifestyle, and took to the ocean to forget her worries instead.
In school, she never even had to study - she was, as they say, "gifted and talented". Many people at her school actually disliked her for it. She only had one friend who truly stood by her, and that was a childhood friend.
The bond between Lena and said friend was put to the test when, as a response to a dire situation that put her friend in danger, she generated an electrical barrier around her friend on the fly, to protect her; the moment after she used her powers then, various patches of her skin disappeared, replaced by metal in an instant, and she would learn of her own light magnetism later on. She hadn't even known she had the ability to do that until that fateful day... It was as though she blinked her eyes; one day, her parents vaguely knew of her abilities, and she was "enrolled" at USARILN East the next.
π π π π π : Ferrodyne is the broad-spectrum name for Lena's magic. Using this, Lena can create proportionally sized electrical repulsion shields around up to two objects/people. What is inside these shields cannot attack (or move, considering the shields are immobile and will at minimum mildly electrify you if you make contact with them) or be attacked unless by a particularly strong attack - everything else just absorbs into the barrier. These absorptions are linked to Lena's own offensive magic uses - for every few moderate attacks absorbed, she can fire off semi-strong electric jolts from her hands...
The catch is, though, that these shields of hers only last up to five minutes, unless they're shattered beforehand - and Lena isn't particularly useful without them.
While her power is active, a ring of electric energy forms around her feet.
π» π£ π π π :In Lena's dream, she saw the ocean. It was a familiar sight to her, yet, this particular time, there was something
more. Up to her knees in the rocking, lapping waves, she was alone in the water... as far as she could see. Something - or someone, Lena had no way of being able to tell - was pulling her forward, deeper into the waves and further towards the horizon. It was a pleasant, airy pull, but, at the same time, it was as emotionally immersive as it was physically moving her. Her legs moved on their own, wading out further and further, as an intense longing overwhelmed her.
As her hair splayed out across the water's surface and her chin contacted it, she was sure that what she was being pulled towards would satisfy the unbearable longing; as a mighty wave rose over her head and she disappeared into it with a rush of water swirling past her, she was sure that she was getting closer and closer...
She just had to keep going.
Beneath the roaring waves was a coral reef; for whatever reason, her feet were all but rooted to the rocky, uneven ground as though encased in cement, and on she went, stepping gingerly yet haphazardly around the corals and marine life, completely submerged all the while. The experience of drowning was a muted background event in comparison to how desperately Lena endeavored to seek out the solution for the gaping maw of hollowness that had opened up within her.
Then, the reef stopped abruptly; a sharp dropoff with nothingness on its watery horizon lied ahead.
But Lena kept going.
It's down there. The answer... Just as she took the first step over the edge and felt herself begin to sink, everything faded to white... and, yet she knew that she had inevitably found the solution to all that longing.
β π π π π₯ π π π£ π :It started off as a normal weekday morning for Lena; she woke up to her 5 am alarm, showered, brushed her teeth, boarded the school bus, etc, all the same as she usually did.
It was when she arrived, however, that the amiss air Lena had perceived that morning was finally justified. When she brushed shoulders with someone in the hallway, he convulsed and fell over, twitching like he'd just been thoroughly electrocuted. He got off on the light side of things, in the end, though; after that incident, Lena spent the rest of the day doing her damnedest to avoid touching anyone, but that only seemed to encourage more and more people to touch her.
It got to the point where spontaneous combustion via electric shock was the average reaction. It mortified Lena every time, except... no one around her seemed to be paying any attention whenever anything would happen. Not even when she failed to convince her closest friend to not rush in and give her a hug and the sensation of sizzling flesh overtook her nose, mouth, and eyes; not even when the fire from her friend's scorched clothes spread to Lena's before she could throw the charred corpse off of her and a stop-drop-and-roll was a futile effort...
