Name: Qo'kar, the Dry Knight
Age: 41
Species/Race: Human
Gender: Male
Abilities: Paladin of Re-Amon, the god of the desert sun; powerful swordsman; mild healing abilities; ability to use magical light to smite "evil" creatures such as undead, demons, etc.; unique powers relating to thirst, such as being able to absorb bodily nutrients from anybody with whom he makes eye contact and the ability to transform water into ash; greatest power is the ability to bestow his curse upon others by placing his thumb upon their forehead and speaking the name of his god. This ability is only used to punish the truly evil.
Appearance/Equipment: Qo'kar is tall and gaunt, standing at 6' tall and weighing around 140 lbs. Due to his curse, Qo'kar appears as something between a living human and a mummy, his entire body dried out due to his lack of water. He may have been handsome once, with his tanned skin and strong jawline cutting an imposing figure when juxtaposed against his brilliantly shining, sky blue eyes which seem to glow in the sunlight. His quaffed hair was black in his youth, but has since turned to grey ever since he was cursed, his once soft, luxurious locks stiffening to the consistency of dried hay. Qo'kar wears a suit of light metal armor, painted gold and silver in honor of his god, Re-Amon. A black cape billows behind him and his hideous face is often covered by the face mask of his helmet. Most often, he only removes his face mask to strike fear in the hearts of his foes or in the presence of those he loves or trusts. At his waist is his weapon, a desert khopesh, and on his left wrist is a medium-sized metal buckler shield.
History: Qo'kar was born in a vast desert to a strange and powerful civilization. That is all anyone knows about his past. He rarely speaks of his past before his curse, for as far as he is concerned, his life began anew after he was cursed by the god he served. Qo'kar is a paladin of the god of the desert sun, Re-Amon. Re-Amon is no simple god to serve, for as the desert sun is bountiful, allows for the raising of crops and drives away the darkness, it is also deadly and unforgiving, with countless thousands of people dying dry and broken under its searing heat. As such, Re-Amon demands the same of his paladins: though they shall be forces of light and justice, they must also know the true power of the sun and dunes. They must live with the pain their god dispenses upon others, so that they themselves can appreciate that power fully. Therefore, all paladins of Re-Amon are cursed with what is known simply as The Thirst. No amount of water can satiate their infinite thirst, and they must live with this burden until they perish. However, there is power to be gained from suffering. Due to his curse, Qo'kar has gained the favor of his god, and has the abilities to prove it. In addition to the traditional abilities of any paladin, such as healing and smiting evil, Qo'kar has the power to take the role of Re-Amon and project the power of thirst on others. His most feared power is the ability to bestow his infinite thirst upon others by placing his thumb upon his enemy's forehead and uttering the words "Re-Amon". This ability is only used on the most evil of foes whom Qo'kar believes deserve a fate worse than death. This modified version of the curse is the same as Qo'kar's but with none of the positive effects.
Qo'kar has been traveling for many years, seeking justice for those who deserve it and righting any wrongs he finds. Over the years, his adventuring has earned him a title, the Dry Knight. This name is often spoken in fear even by those he seeks to protect, for though he is a fighter for justice, he is known for his foul disposition and the horrible fate that he bestows on those who torment the innocent. Qo'kar, the Dry Knight, is a man both feared and respected far and wide. And for good reason.
