Premise
From the dawn of time humanity has had a tendency to think that they are alone in the universe, that they are special, and this belief has been supported by various sets of beliefs including religions which often feature humanity as God/the god's special people. However recent events have unfolded that have proven this theory wrong. A highly advanced race of imperialistic extra-terrestial beings sought to conquer the earth and add it to the list of civilizations/planets they reign over. To that end they sent a a fleet of soldiers to investigate earth, and set the stage for their people to rule over humanity. This secret invasion was detected by the world's intelligent communities, and lead to the world's governments at large working together in a covet operation to stop the invasion in it's tracks. In short they were succesful in defeating the threat, slaying the invaders, and for the most part keeping the general public unaware of what happened. As far as the general public was concerned in the year of 2014 a massive terrorist organization that had access to ground breaking advanced technology planned to wreak havoc on the world's nations and was stopped.
However that was not the end, humanity thought they had won the war, but they'd simply by sheer luck won the first battle. Two years later in the year of 2016, a group was formed by the leaders of the various world governments known as the "Coalition" whose goal was to re-engineer the alien technology, and study the invaders to be prepared for subsequent invasions which may be more dangerous. The result was an experiment that went horribly wrong, and has granted humans across the globe superhuman abilities that are a manifestation of their innermost desires. Even worst the beacon of energy that surged across the planet granting many humans the next step in evolution has alerted the aliens that sought to dominant earth all those years ago that their covet operation failed, and now they seek to avenge their fallen soldiers, and truly dominate the earth. Time is ticking before this species inevitably finds it's way to earth again, and thus begins the story of those empowered by this accident.
Rules
1. The RP involves powers, so feel free to have powers of all sorts, and have fun just don't be too crazy.
2. There's a storyline involved but I want the RP to be sandbox style, so you can have as many characters as you can handle.
3. If you want the same power as someone else, ask, but I'd prefer if you picked a different power or made it different then the other character's power in some way.
4. Try to remain active, and give a heads up if you can't.
5. This is set in the "Real" world so try to keep things realistic.
6. No stickler for the lengths of the posts, just remember this is causal not free.
