I normally understand what you say, but not this.

I've had my bout of depression. I haven't any way to make you feel better, but I'm glad you're letting us know. --Even though we're (basically) strangers on the internet. Telling people helps more than one would think.

I'm not going to pretend like I understand depression or anything but I'm aware that telling you to cheer up is completely shallow and pointless.

So, instead know that you have a bunch of complete strangers on the internet who actually care about your well-being, which is more than most people have.
