@Albatross City
So you're saying the masses should be punished for the actions of the few.

It's not punishment unless it causes the superheroes legitimate harm. The only possible harm it could cause outside of them physically resisting is the harm that would come to their families, which again has proven to be an inevitability without regulation involved because you have supervillains who will do that regardless.

That said, I want to see you define regulation, since in your mind it is a punishment that can hold no positive outcome.

I've played across the whole spectrum of character power and I've generally found low levels of power (what people often call "mild powers") to be the most challenging and the most enjoyable. This is by and large for the simple reason that limitations breed creativity, much as necessity is the mother of invention. If I tell you to draw a line from point A to point B and give you a blank piece of paper, you'll draw a straight line. If I give you the same instructions but with a maze -- that is, limitations of where and how you can draw your line -- now there's a challenge involved. The same largely applies in roleplay combat. It's why it takes less effort to shift a character up in power than it does to shift them down: down-shifting requires applying harder, more concrete limitations.

That being said, I did enjoy high powered combat when I played it, especially with the DBZ approach of just "fuck it, laser beams for everyone!" There's nothing wrong with it. From a competitive angle and ensuring that characters can be placed on as level a playing field as possible in tournaments and similar events, I prefer mild powers. I (as Melon knows) even prefer the additional limitation of making fights non-fatal to force people to really think about their posts by removing the option of going right for the throat, both literally and figuratively. Puts people on their heads.

Also, if you want to read about superhero regulation or lack thereof, read Ennis's The Boys. Mostly because Ennis is hilarious.

You know what's troubling me about Evvie? How she could lay on her back properly? Her tail is more thick and muscular than, say, a cats which could just squeeze a bit to provide room. By common sense her hips would be thrust awkwardly in the air. You could make the argument that her wings would level her out, but they aren't as thick so would have to push outwards at all times. This realization is more bothersome then it should be, let me tell you.

The only hand wave I can think of is have her wings lock in place to push herself up to match the tail without needing constant force being applied. She could just rest on her side or stomach, of course, but in a battle she'd still get knocked into her back on occasion. and if she's unconscious she'd be stuck that way. If she were to take a powerful hit onto grass then it would just bury in and resolve the issue, so this will likely rarely come up and I'm thinking too much into this.

Well, she probably just wouldn't lie on her back.

If she got knocked on her back, her tail would just be an advantage in getting up, or it would naturally turn her to one side or the other. If she's getting hit into the ground hard enough that her tail would be damaged, she has bigger problems, probably her broken ribs.

I wasn't thinking her tail damaged, but the floor getting an indent for the tail to rest in! That's a staple of high powered fights. The fighter is okay but the environment around them is destroyed to fit their shape.

You know what? What you said is so simple I should have thought of it earlier. Being relatively round-ish, the tail should indeed tilt her hips off to one side rather than pushing the hips straight up unless they hit dead center and remained perfectly balanced, which is unlikely. She'd also still technically be on her back, just a tad twisted up that doesn't look silly at all. Uncomfortable to be sure, but getting knocked down to begin with is the bigger worry. Crisis averted everyone! I was going to have to try to draw her lying down to make sense how the tail would interfere. This drawing would be in my book, "the vital guide of characters and the useless facts pertaining to them that could be handy to know, maybe".

Best answer is that she sleeps sitting up.
I'd say curled up to keep warm, but she's already a nudist who doesn't care about temperature.

Sleeping positions for her personality would be more sprawled out, blankets thrown everywhere, possibly upside down. That is if sleeping positions based on personality can be considered fact. Most people probably just choose something that feels comfortable at the time and goes with it. As such she'd mostly be seen on her stomach, as referenced in "the vital guide of characters and the useless facts pertaining to them that could be handy to know, maybe".

She likely has slept sitting up before. Just like, randomly. And they think she's awake and waste a whole chapter talking to her with important plot points. Then she just falls over onto her side at the end.

If she got a bed and a friend/company, then she went cuddly and sleep while giving her friend/company a beardragonhug.

Some dark humor origin story for a magical girl mascot. You know how people react relatively calm to the whole, "you're a magical girl now" out of nowhere thing? Well this mascot appears and the girl realistically freaks out at this random magical being poping up next to her, causing her to stumble off a small embankment and die. Ironically she was to be the most powerful magical girl, dead from a five foot drop by the being sent to help her. And it's hilarious to imagine the cute mascot trying to hide the body.

Or maybe this is just an alternate reality. In the main one the story follows she's just knocked unconscious. She finds out why alternate reality her is dead at some point after schenanagins by the mascot to cover it up.

I think I have way too many magical girl plot lines in my head both parody and serious...

The mascot is the size of a housecat at best. Unless he has cartoon physics mouth opening, he's in for a rough time.

*that awkward moment when you see your alternate reality mascot attempting to devour your alternate reality body by shoving the cranium into his jaws, getting his mouth stuck on it and choking him. The crime scene investigators would be so confused.

would be par for the course really.
the mascot got the training but took them all wrong.
"Appear in her sight in a suitably dramatic moment!" (maintain a bit of a distance though) > Oh, I should pop right behind her and have her turn around to me.
"You can eat bigger things then you are, helps with cleaning up after the girls' fights." (Because the defeated tends to be in chunks.) > They said I could right? I could eat the corpse whole!

Due to not being human, it could have inhuman logic such as that. Kind of like how in Modoka Magica, Kyubey isn't truly evil, he just doesn't see eye to eye with humans. And how robots are often portrayed as taking things literally.

The mascots could have an instinct to consume all magical entities after they've been defeated, which would trigger that instinct. That's not really funny, though, just dark, and possibly compelling plotline depending on how it was dealt with. The cute little guy trying to hide the (to him very large) body just sounds like more wacky hijinks ensuing.

@Divinity So, Divinity, there's a Corban on Valucre playing as Corban, claims to have never played on RPG before, which means one of you must be using someone else's character. Who is it, out of curiosity?

I want to make a character profile for the Ewok race. See whose characters can defeat an army of Ewoks.

Yeah...an entire legion of the best stormtroopers really...really shouldn't have any trouble fighting Ewoks. Well, the combat in the universe is meant to be entertaining, not realistic how much they could crush anything with the level of tech they should have available. Let's just say they wouldn't be using chicken walkers and no other ground support. XD

Are we having this set in the Star Wars universe or a multiverse where we use normal characters?
