Please begin by creating a charactor sheet be it paper or otherwise, some notes will be required.
Relavent "Stats"
Streangth (STR), which governs physical damage @ 1:1 as well as limiting what is equipable, for example "Iron Armor" weighs 25, the player must have 25+ STR in order to equip it, for weapons if a player meets half the weight they may wield it "two handed" for example, "Iron Sword" weighs 10, if the player has 5 STR it will require both hands to wield @ 10 STR player may wield it one handed.
Defense (DEF), Negates damage @ 1:1
Magic (MAG), Governs Magic Points (MP) @1:5 and is commonly referenced by spells in various formuli
Magic Defense (MDEF), Negates Magic Damage @ 1:1
Vitality(VIT), Determines Life Points (LP/HP) @ 1:5
Speed (SPD), governs turn order for example if player has 5 SPD and enemy has 5 SPD turns will be 1:1, if player has 10 SPD and enemy has 5 SPD turns will be 2:1 if player or enemy has a speed that is 10x that of the attacker evasion is 100% "otherwise hits are 100%, magic is unavoidable"

Number 1 rule "Nothing is beyond logical debate" this rule governs the infinite developement of this world and its playability, co-operative immersive players will find the gameplay experience far more rewarding than others.

Magic is the primary focus of the game as spells come from the players mind, magic is "Learned" by gaining points toward a spell, each spells required points will be defined upon first appearance example "Heal Level 1" requires 5 points to learn, points system is finite 1 point for witnessing a spell, 1 point for attempting it, 2 points for casting it as you both witnessed and attempted the spell.

Playable races, 25 available points to distribute among stats.
Humans- Hearty Race, +5VIT
Elves- Magically inclined race, +5MAG
Orcs- Violent tribal race, +5STR
Reptilians- Vicious and quick race, +5SPD

Stories and deep lore will be revealed as players immerse.

Any players interested simply identify your charactor name and race, show your starting stat build "for my notes" and we will begin, I hope to bring hours of entertainment to many ive worked on this for over 15 years and have many notes at my disposal.

What's the stats point restriction? I imagine having 100 in all stats would to OP, so is there some idea like a maximum limit for the number of points?

What would an average person's stats be?

as an infinitely developing world there are no stat limits, but all start equally, as moderator i will scale your non-player enemies accordingly, players are recomended to co-operate, however not required. you may act as you desire.

Can you give any averages though? For example, how powerful would a character with a 10 in every stat be? A 100? It's hard to do status based design without a basis to work off of.

In your summary, you mentioned a 25 STR iron sword. Is that the normal requirements for it, or will there also be 7 STR and 65 STR variants?

We need a baseline for what could be refered to as "normal" here.
