Damn. I suppose I'll maybe pick up a few similarities between this and that big project of yours, one day. I can't really say I'm doing the same with any of my characters, personally; Just trying to keep them as much as 'themselves' as I can. Galuf is quite possibly my favorite aside from Kefka; Mostly because just the way he was portrayed in the original game was hilarious, and badass at the same time; Kefka on the otherhand is an off the hinges psychopath, which is one of my favorite types of character to write in general: Not afraid to admit I've had a few characters inspired mainly from him.

Yes it is! at the time, I was on a Deus Ex kick of sorts. I've played every main game in the franchise. It's a great series.

You're doing well with Kefka, so that (you basing characters off him) makes sense to me. Psychopath characters are fun for me to write too, under good circumstances. From what I remember of Galuf, he was pretty entertaining.

On my end, I don't so much model the way I'm portraying the Final Fantasy characters off of my story characters - since I'm doing the best I can to keep them as true to themselves as possible - but I'll use ideas from my own characters to fill in any of the gaps where I feel like the character lacked depths or fleshing out due to video game characters often being more simplified. So while I take inspiration from my main work, I still believe I'm staying true to the canon characters.

I'll be waiting to see the response.

I just had the hilarious thought of Auron being present when Galuf declared he was dead.

Nothing important in the slightest, but I chuckled at the idea of Cosmos possibly having two already dead warriors on her side.

The closest thing I can think of to a 'complaint' was the gap between Freya's big explanation about Baron not existing. She mentioned Cid, and I feel like this would've completely thrown Cecil off and possibly caused him not to question her about the Dragoon thing (which happened afterwards, unless you post just made it look that way. He'd likely have waited until she finished speaking before mentioning the Cid thing, but I'm wondering if her words would have stopped him mentioning Kain? He also drifted into thinking about Rosa afterwards, which might've been impossible with such an interruption in his thoughts.

Sometimes my attention to detail makes things complicated for me.

I honestly should have had Freya suggest something else, rather than Baron not existing; Like it being on another continent, considering most of those who live on the Mist Continent don't actually know what lies beyond them; She should consider it a faint possibility instead of dropping a bomb like that.

Believe it or not, that's not the bomb. Cecil's already more or less worked out that Baron doesn't exist in this world. He explicitly used the term 'Earth' to refer to his world to see if it got her attention or something, but she focused more on making it clear that Baron didn't exist (which is perfectly fine). The real bombshell was mentioning Cid. After all, the Cid of Baron was responsible for developing airships in his world. That'd mind screw anyone to learn someone so similar yet so different exists here.

I probably should've made it more clear that him saying 'Earth' would be weird to someone whose planet is named 'Gaia'.

Currently thinking over how easily I can work it all in.

The mentioning of Cid in nearly any instance is practically a mindscrew for everyone. I get what you're saying.

For some stupid reason I didn't even register the Earth comment. Which is my fault. Mentioning that is something Freya would do. A completely different planet is a a conversation-stopper in it's own right, so I'm not sure how it should be edited so it flows well. x.x

I'm currently contending with a headache, so I couldn't post right now anyway -- especially with how late it is.

When I'm rested, I'll put my strategic mind and attention to detail to good use and find a way around this for us. Thankfully, these two were already 'one post ahead' of the other parties technically, so it won't be entirely problematic if I skip on Cecil's next post one time. That's assuming this takes a lot of work to figure out -- I'm usually pretty good with solving problems though.

Anyway, no immediate solutions're popping into my head, but once I'm not distracted by anything I'll look into it all.

Post is up -- rather, as much of it as I can give you right now. I'm not in a good state right now, and I'm being multitasked pretty badly, so I'm unable to work out a proper solution for the situation between Cecil and Freya until I get more time. They were a post ahead of the other parties, so this shouldn't be a problem.

I didn't post for Mateus and Exdeath because I'm uncertain how long we want to keep actually showing the flashback, so you'll need to let me know about that. Are we going all the way up until the summoning? Are we going to show the pact between Mateus and Marche happen? What about showing Mateus use his magic to distort Cosmos' summoning? I need to know if this is meant to keep going or not.

I've omitted Cecil's mention of the specific name of his world (a.k.a. Earth), in order to avoid killing the conversation before anything you said could happen. I'm thinking it makes sense that he's not quite as thorough about the details as I am, so it makes sense if he takes an extra post or two to think about saying it in comparison to me.

On your end, I think you need to write her response in a way that involves her only responding to his entire explanation after he's finished mentioning the Dragoon part as well. I actually did write his response pointing out that he only stopped for a brief moment between sentences to think about how to word himself, but I've taken the liberty of adding an extra line to emphasize that she wouldn't have had enough time to interrupt him.

This should get us back on track.

Overall, I enjoyed the portrayals you've presented with each character. I noticed the bit of foreshadowing with Zidane's mention of 'cuties' too, which I thought was cool and fitting for how he behaved prior to meeting Garnet.

I still, on the other hand, need people's thoughts regarding the flashback.

I was sure we were keeping the interference Mateus was doing would be kept secret. As for the flashback, I think we should keep it up just long enough to have everyone meet up with each other.

That's true -- I just wasn't sure if we wanted some sort of 'hint' at it. Also, I'd imagine that Chaos and his other warriors might get a bit confused if Cosmos' summoning doesn't work properly, so I was thinking perhaps Mateus could actually suggest (he's likely already done it, but would fake it out) the whole idea of him using his magic to interfere with her.

This'd probably be more something @Raddum needs to talk over with me, rather than something for you and me to discuss. I can keep how he does it entirely secret, either way. Mostly just considering the detail of how Chaos might realize something weird's going on if Mateus doesn't openly suggest it -- he's already messed with Chaos' side prior to even arriving here.

With the other thought in mind though, I'll edit in a response for the villains.

If you're referring to the one about being ill, I've more or less overcome that particular problem now. To be perfectly frank, I'm always pretty ill due to having a lot of bad physical health problems -- I more or less just soldier on, to be honest. Sometimes it's a miracle I'm even alive. Cheers regardless.

Still keeping an eye on this thread, but it looks like Raddum's having some life issues and hasn't been able to show up. I'm putting most of my time in sorting out the role-play I'm opening shortly, since I want to get back to focusing on my main story project once that's organized and ready to go.

You too. I figured there wasn't much point keeping up to date here until Raddum gets back to us -- the holidays are probably distracting him.

Most of my efforts have been on setting my own role-play up, alongside trying to motivate myself not to leave this site -- I've had multiple reasons for thinking I should, and whether it happens or not'll likely be at least partly determined by the outcome of that role-play.

Anyway, how're you doing?

Pretty good, thanks for asking. I've been playing Wolfenstein New Order, a game I got for Christmas, and it's pretty fun. I bought some Light Novels with a 50$ gift card, too.
