Hi there, I'd like to find one or two writing partners for some one on one games. I don't find I have enough time for group roleplays but I don't want to stop altogether. So I'm looking for some stories to keep me going. A bit about myself, I'm 27 and male. I've been roleplaying for about 12 years or so on and off and consider myself to be advanced, I expect my partner to be likewise. I live in Scotland so I'm GMT time zone. I have a few ideas so I'll go ahead and list them below and then I can add/subtract as my mood changes.
Something I'm really interested in at the moment is a story set in Brian McClellan's Powder Mage universe from his books. If anyone has read them and is interested in the setting please let me know.
I would also be interested in writing something in Robert E. Howard's Conan the Barbarian universe, I've always been a big fan of this setting. The ancient history fantasy setting is really appealing to me.
I had an idea of an original setting for a story. It would be a mix of western and martial arts film styles with some fantasy added but at it's heart it'll be an adventure story. I'm open to romance being present if the opposite character is female (mine will be male). Basically we would play characters in an original world that is a mix of the old American west and China or Japan of the same or maybe slightly earlier period. There would be various super powers (for lack of a better word) that warriors in this world can use although some choose to use firearms instead of training in the martial arts related to these powers.
Another original setting would be set in the 1980s in a small town in swamps of Louisiana, my inspiration for this is a mix of Stranger Things, True Detective and maybe some old X-files thrown in as well. Basically my character is the county sheriff and there are strange supernatural happenings going on in the area and he gets mixed up in it. Further details can be collaborated with any interested parties.
Yet another original setting, a dieselpunk/post apocalyptic setting. The world has had a nuclear war which has wiped out most of humanity but those who survive have set up towns and settlements in what is now a desert. Some of the pre-apocalypse machines still work but they are all from the 1950s and before. So WW2 tanks maybe some planes as well, weaponry is the same.
An alternative history world/pulp adventure story set mainly in the Mediterranean Sea in an alternative version of 1916 where there is no World War 1, instead there is a cold war of sorts. Britain, France, Spain, Portugal and Russia are in a close alliance as are Germany, Austria-Hungary, The Ottoman Empire, Rumania and Bulgaria. Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland are all officially neutral however their sympathy lies heavily with Britain and their allies. Serbia, Montenegro and Albania are under pressure from their neighbours to join the alliance with Germany however they have yet to do so; Scandinavia, Denmark in particular, is under similar pressure. Italy is under pressure from both sides to join alliances due to their strategic position in the heart of the Mediterranean. Bi-winged sea planes filled with pirates, bounty hunters, soldiers, gangs and slavers rule the skies while the waters are frequented by large liner ships usually transporting goods or slaves between the countries of the Mediterranean. Long distance passenger travel is usually conducted by large zeppelins. Slaves are the most valuable commodity in this area of the world and people pay high prices for healthy slaves and the Mediterranean is the place where most of the slave trade exists making it a highly sought after area by the powers of Europe.
Something set in the Star Wars universe, in the era surrounding the original trilogy/Rogue One. I would prefer if it was about non-force users as I find playing jedis a bit tedious so maybe rebel pilots or smugglers or something along those lines. Again, we can discuss.
A Victorian era adventure story, something like Space 1889 if anyone knows the setting, with airships and space travel. Like Victorian sci-fi essentially. Alternatively a Victorian era lovecraftian horror setting.
