People claiming to be bi but actually aren't is a real thing and a problem.

But no one has the knowledge or the right to accuse any specific individual of lying about their sexuality or not.
So yes it is a thing, but the people who accuse you of this have no right to be making said accusation.

While I agree, the way some women use that as a tease for guys, people DO have a reason to be curious,. There is a diff between curiosity and accusation. And for the most part, it's nobodies business anyway, what sexual orientation you are!

Accuse her of having sex with a ... lets say horse.

That's my advice in this situation

I don't think you're qualified to decide if someone other than yourself is legitimately bisexual.

Never said I was deciding for them.

I can make a huge, non-serious generalization without forcing people to become the generalization.

I don't understand that either. Why do you have to be afraid of something to not like it?

I think it was a joke about the "phobia" part in which he mistaken it ONLY as "fear of"... When you hear "phobia" that is the main part you think about after all....

Though, in truth phobia means "fear and/or great dislike of"... I think it was just a simple mistake on the meaning of the interpretation on the meaning of the suffix vs what the suffix actually means... As was it a joke... :/

Awson said This actually reminds of an AskReddit thread about the flamboyant homosexual male voice. Someone said something like "Half the people say they can control it if they want to, the other half say it's natural." Well, I bet the other half has plenty of liars on their side. If you're doing an out-of-the-ordinary voice in order to fit in, you probably wouldn't fess up to it when asked about it. Or rather, certain types of people wouldn't. My point? People are fake.

I went to a lecture on the history of gay language the other week. It was mostly about Polari, but it did mention that flamboyancy may be a similar sort of coding between gays/a way to define themselves as a subculture as Polari was. A lot less subtle obviously, as well, because there's so much less reason to hide it. Thought it was interesting anyway.

Some people get jealous when another is different and gets attention from it. I'm guessing it's some catty girls that are accusing you of this? And yes there are some chicks that will make out together at a party just to titillate the guys there and be the center of attention. It's silly and pathetic and can affect the legitimacy of being bisexual in the eyes of other idiots.

I don't really get why this is a problem, consenting adults can do what they like with each other and that shouldn't mean what they like within the label they identify as, or others identify them as. I'm by no means saying girls who do this are experimenting, as I imagine most aren't, they are doing it for attention and so what? If it was more acceptable for straight people to make out with those of the same gender then maybe they wouldn't be undermining bisexuality by having to claim to be bi to make out. In a similar vein you could say gay people denying their sexuality undermines people identifying as straight or bi, but even typing those words makes me feel dirty. As Magic said no-one should make accusations about someones claimed sexuality, and ultimately by denying your sexuality you only hurt yourself.

But, yeah, labels are really stupid, and if girls want to make out to get guys, or if straight guys want to play gay chicken, or straight/gay people would consider a threesome to make a partner happy, or people actually enjoy making out with people they'd never sleep with it's only because they're defying their label that we judge.

Likely, this one girl was told at some point that she was experiencing (or might someday experience) a 'bi-phase' of some sort, and the interpretation she either got or made was 'If you're feeling bi, you're curious, but if you're TALKING about bi, you're an attention whore.' Which is bad advice, predicated (probably) on some truthful experience that somebody probably had at some point.

IOW: Kids say the darndest things, but there's probably an explanation for it. Educate or move on, don't dwell, it's pointless (source: people accuse me of faking disability, like, all the time).

I have not had the pleasure of someone giving me shit for my condition -- I'd happily show them a bloody bowel movement if they really want 'proof' and think my word isn't good enough.

Just try me, hypothetical asshole out there saying 'it's all in yer head' to people.

you are all stupid. Humanity is stupid. sexuality isn't a big fucking deal. You are a guy who happens to like both guys and girls, or just guys? SABFSADHDFBVHEOBHVDSOBHVDSOIHCVSOADHCOASDCOABSCOB OHMYGOD LOOK AT THAT GUY, TRYIN' TO BE UNIQUE, LET'S DERIDE HIM! or, THAT GOES AGAINST WHAT I WAS TAUGHT, AND SO, I BELIEVE IT'S MY RIGHT TO CONDEMN YOU FOR IT! even better, are the people who make a big show of support. ITS OK, GUISE, I'M WITH YOU, YOU COLORFUL RAINBOW, I'M BEHIND YOU 100%, RIGHTS FOR EVERYONE1111!!!!11!11!!!!

My response? That's fine, whatever, dude. Long as you aren't shoving your dong in my face.

Because, as another person, I don't have, and shouldn't have the right to be all for, or all against it. However, I do believe that the ones who are against it should get their ass kicked, and the ones who "support" it, should calm down. It's just sexuality. As long as you aren't planning anything with that person, it shouldn't fucking matter.

/inb4 I get everyone in the thread on my ass.

In response to the main post?

yeah, that's a thing. only idiots let it bother them if that's not what they're doing.
