I'm hoping to have this rp have a LOT of people, so I need to have my roleplay advertised in a lot of ways. I've already:

-Posted about it on my status
-put it in my signature
-commented about it a little in OOC of other rps
-mentioned people from another fantasy rp it was inspired from
-Posted it in chat

What else can I do? Here's the link.

I was thinking of adding a picture at the beginning too. But what picture should I put up?

First thing I would do is place it in the Casual Interest check section. General Interest checks are only a secondary area for people to check if they can't find something that catches their eye. That's because it can cover anything from Free to advance, Arena, 1x1s, and Table-top... basically it's shouting to the world in a sea of noise.

Next thing I would do is adjust your interest check and OOC layout. Besides the title, where's the banner name for the Roleplay? It's not always needed but having a snazzy title does help. For example:

These were all pulled off 1001 Fonts so anyone can quickly make a title, no Photoshop needed.

Lastly, I would roll with who you have in the OOC. Start designing your own characters, play around a little bit and show your excitement. You can't really do much more than that to draw in people as they will come when they come on their own accord. I've seen reboots of the same roleplay, and done so myself, and they've had two different sides of the coin for results.

So essentially what you are doing is right, but there's only so much that you can actually do.

@NuttsnBolts

Thank you! The banner will definitely help! Mostly the characters I will be playing will be whatever the other people don't choose because I'm fine with playing any of them. I will be doing the personal servant, but I wanted to see the crown prince before making up his character.

I forgot to mention that I did put it in the casual interest check! I've never actually gotten anyone interested in the general anyway...

I also am thinking of making a map for the area. I've got someone who likes to make maps, but she wants a sketch and I'm not that good at that part... =,='

Like @NuttsnBolts said, I think it has more to do with how the interest check is presented. You've clearly done all the advertising you can do, you just need to make the product look better.

A snazzy banner is one way to draw them in, and you've written about your world in great detail. While roleplayers like playing in fleshed out worlds, they don't always like reading through wall of text after wall of text. So you need to trick them into thinking there's less text than there actually is. There are many ways to do this, but my two favorite methods are...

Pictures! At just a glance someone can get a feel for the mood of your rp with the right pictures. How many you use is up to you, but I admit that a picture usually makes me stop and read what an RP is actually about. Another thing I like is...

Multiple headers

People may decide that a wall of text is too big to be worth reading. By breaking up a wall of text into smaller segments, it looks less intimidating.

However...

The real decider is "what's on the market" and what the RP gods feel like. There are tons of sword and spell fans, but the forum is saturated with these types of rollplays. As a result, only the very best can garner more than a smattering of players. My Danganronpa RP had 13 players in the first few days of putting up the OOC because there hasn't been a danganronpa rp for 6 months, and the new game was going to release in Japan in just a few weeks. This created a very ripe opportunity for me!

My Advice?

I agree with NuttsnBolts, you should try and roll with what you have. Something else to consider is that one of your players may get busy with real life responsibilities or just drop out entirely. You should have a back up plan if or when that happens, otherwise the RP could grind to a halt on account of a simple oversight.

You'll need to build a proper marketing campaign, parsing out who you want and what sort of people those might be. Then performing appropriate marketing research to determine where these people are and what they like so as to tailor advertising to these people. Then designing an attractive targeting ad to post in those relevant areas, while providing content in this so as not to waste their time.

BS. Just promise to deport the spambots, build a wall, ban all undesirable roleplayers and make [Insert Roleplaying Section] Great Again.
