Personality:

For an Anarch, Catlin is rather reserved. Even heeled and contemplative, but not afraid of confrontation. Seems to value intelligence and moderation. When it comes to her art, Catlin puts everything she has into it. In any social circle she keeps everyone at a healthy distance, and is almost impossibly slow to trust.

Biography:

Born in Southern California to a working class Mexican-American family, she was raised under the Mexican Catholic tradition, and for most of her life could even have been called a good, nice, girl. Somewhere along the way that went wrong, though no one seems to know how or why. Those Anarchs who have worked with her over the years would say her father was abusive, though each has a different tale as to the kind of abuse the girl suffered. Whatever the cause, Catlin moved to Los Angeles shortly after her 21st birthday. Aspiring actress, writer, and musician--a common Los Angeles tale.

She would work as a waitress waiting for a big break, until that big break came at the fangs of a Kindred. Her sire is unknown, as she was left shortly after. Some Toreador Anarch, is the best explanation she can do. A former Camarilla Toreador named Cecilia had pity and took the neonate in. Whatever Cecilia's long game, Catlin seems entirely independent at this point, not telling what happened to Cecilia or how she came to live with a rag-tag group of Anarchs in the Valley. It's believed her role with a Hollywood Talent Management Agency was set up through Cecilia, though there's no telling for sure.

Catlin's involvement in the recent dramatic events of L.A. seems more likely a bystander than a participant.

Misc.: Catlin's tattoos, much like her known past and punk rock life, are entirely carefully constructed fabrications--in reality the punk Anarch known as Catlin Monroe is truly a 7th Generation Toreador named Yanci born in 1717 not 1977 (making her exactly 300 years old), connected to some of the most powerful Kindred on the West Coast, and the Kindred overlords of Hollywood. She is a master manipulator hiding in plain sight as Elders around her drop like flies--Elders, except, for those she calls mentors. Her role is anyone's guess, but it is unlikely she played the part of predator and aggressor in recent violence.

A fact that does not rule out a possible role as avenger in the near future...

Personality: Grace is a true believer in the Technocracy and its mission for a safe and superstition free humanity. She is well versed in the formalities of the Technocracy’s culture and shares the cold and rational outlook common within its ranks. However, she is also chronically stressed as a result of the demands of her job, and more willing to take a pragmatic approach to the enforcement, concentrating on the big picture and spirit of the rules rather following policy by rote. When dealing with the public she initially uses a friendly demeanor, projecting an almost unnatural kindness, but she finds it difficult maintain this when things get contentious. In formal technocracy settings she falls back into the default bureaucratic personality of unquestioning loyalty and obedience, but outside that she is more relaxed and isn’t afraid to mince words.

Biography: Grace had a normal middle class upbringing in a suburb of Seattle, her father worked for Boeing and her mother taught part time at the local community college. From an early age she exceeded academically, almost equally in the humanities and the hard sciences. She was very academically oriented and had few friends in high school, always finding excuses to avoid socialization and even holding a little contempt for the common masses.

Grace went to college on a considerable scholarship, and had difficulty choosing a major, but eventually finished and moved on to graduate school. In graduate school she was even more indecisive, and bounced between department accumulating credits and working as a research assistant. Little legends began to pass around the department about how some experiments seemed to work differently when she was around, and she became valuable in an environment where a steady stream of publishing papers dictated who earned tenure.
While she was on her long and winding path, the Technocracy approached her. Considerable amounts of observation had given them reason to believe that she would be useful on their side, and she gladly accepted. Joining the Technocracy would mean leaving almost of her old life behind, but Grace never had much of one so didn’t mind making the sacrifice. After considerable training she was assigned a position within the NWO, away from field work.

She proved excellent at cataloging information and analyzing the intel on reality deviants gathered by the Technocracy’s vast bureaucracy, but over time she came to worry that her talents were being wasted working as a glorified librarian. Enlightened personnel were a rare resource, and they were especially valuable on the front lines of the conflict. Sensing an opportunity for advancement, she became a field agent, and was assigned to the Southern California region. The massive amount of media meant that the Syndicate exercised heavy influence over Technocracy operations in the area, NWO presence was undermanned, overworked, and usually on the losing end of territorial fights with the Syndicate. Turnover was excessively high, and soon enough Grace found herself the NWO field operative in charge of all of Los Angeles County. The work is stressful and unrewarding, especially with recent shakeups, but she has stayed in the position longer than anyone else so far, and considers it a success if she can just stop any major trouble from being noticed by masses.

A man of above-average height, Nico stands at six-foot-one, lean build, short ash-gray hair and beard, and a series of articulate tattoos of mythos and symbolic eastern European imagery covering most of his upper body. He carries himself with confidence, tall and proud, a friendly smile to friend and stranger, and a wardrobe designed to accentuate a no nonsense man of integrity and strength of will.


Personality:
Pure alpha, dominant, even-tempered, mentally tough, and competitive, Nicolaus gleans with a genuine confidence that very few seem to have in this current age, especially among the younger Kindred. Whereas his demeanor may come off as arrogant, it couldn't be further from the truth. His rough exterior is balanced by his charismatic approach to others and generally friendly disposition. He considers his lean body, decorated with countless tattoos of his Germanic (and to an extent, Viking even) ancestry, a symbolic “canvas” to his many exploits in both life and unlife. As a long-time visual artist, he is quite meticulous in execution, seeking perfection in everything but rarely achieving it according to his own standards. Occasionally he buries himself into work for hours, not wanting to be disturbed or distracted during that time. And a quirk, some would consider “bad form” for a Ventrue (let alone a vampire in general), is that Nicolaus holds onto certain humanistic qualities, such as having food set out during meal times but not actually eating, smoking cigars, or simply leaving a pair of glasses in his shirt pocket. Many of his peers consider it a bad reflection on him, but he couldn't care less what they thought...

Appearance: He's a rather muscular vampire standing at slightly above average height (6ft1). He tends to wear a normal dark t-shirt and jeans combo in the modern nights.

Personality: Brooding and taciturn, this man isn't one for small talk. One look in his eyes or seeing his powerful Obtenebration and Potence in action betrays a storied past. Hector See is the classic lone wolf, a man of mysterious and seductive sight who, when forced to, knows how to deal with several situations. He is a quiet contemplative person who appeals for the analysis of the situation before acting. But when he is in action, no one can stop him.

Biography:
Hector was born to parents in the Caribbean. Growing up, he was trained for a career as a Navy man by his father. He was known for being the most talented of his family and for his hand to hand combat skills. He was quickly picked out of his siblings as heir for his self control and strength of will. However, it was his talents that lead to his family's downfall.

He was picked out by a Lasombra vampire for an embrace, going after the Navy family. Hector's sire killed everyone in Hector's family and placed the blame on Hector, making him a target for the Navy. Hector was embraced as his only tool for survival in the predicament.

A 7th gen Lasombra vampire, Hector became a Sabbat vampire and a pirate. His powerful Shadow Magic and brute strength led him to commandeer his own pirate ship, where he robbed and looted a fortune to becoming a bourgeoisie in the new world. Like many Lasombra, he hunted for power in the ranks of the Sabbat and became a Ductus of clan members, having the title of Dark Angel

However, Hector never believed in the antediluvians like most Sabbat and believed Gehenna was never going to come. He had many orders from the Sabbat to hunt possible antediluvians and their relics, but he never followed through. Eventually, he decided to leave the Sabbat altogether as he did not agree with their goals.

As a Lasombra Antitribu, he has been hunted down by the Sabbat to no avail. He has taken down many Sabbat shovelheads and has gone across the New World over the centuries keeping to himself, enjoying his treasures and the new technology of the ages and killing Sabbat who are after him. He has now made his way to LA to test his skills amongst the conflict.

South American in origin, how she came to be in the valley that would become Los Angeles remains a mystery to everyone but Eva, and the Kid. She has in the past admitted remembering traveling with Eurpoean explorers, and admitting her given name is not Eva, simply one she gave herself many many many years ago. Even her role in the Los Angeles night is something of a hazy bit of history; she was around during the very first group of Kindred to take up in the area, when the City of Angels was little more than a remote rancho. The Kid began the idea of Los Angeles with Eva's help, and produced the first Prince from well behind the scenes where none would see him. But as the first Prince gave way to the worst of impulses and temptations, Eva was forced public for damage control.

That has remained her role. The Kid and Eva have remained the guiding force that brought Los Angeles to creation, and when that left their artistic desires feeling unsated, they began the dream of what would become Hollywood. Her role as co-founder has cemented her status in the city, and in Hollywood, for the vast majority of the history of both no more than a rumor, a mantle to be passed down and taken up. Few have ever known it was all one woman, fewer still know her connection to the Kid. The Camarilla's rise, and fall, within Southern California has happened under her watch--unbeknownst to the Camarilla itself. The Kid and she more than willing to let people like MacNeil, and Smiling Jack, take credit for the Anarch Free State. Current events have forced Eva into the open like never before, many around the Free State shocked to find such a powerful Elder simply stepping out from the shadows...though perhaps the truly wise have always suspected there was something more going bump in the L.A. night beyond what was known.

If Eva has one overwhelming talent, it's her ability to make common cause, even friends, with elements of the world and it's supernatural that other Kindred would never be able to. Anarch, Camarilla, Sabbot, Garou, Mage, etc, Eva has ties to all. Some ties that go back centuries, sometimes directly, sometimes through intermediaries. A good example of this is her Coterie; a mix of Kindred clans that have lived and worked together for nearly a century, many longer than that. Few know each member of the Coterie links back to Eva, each member often seen as L.A. power players in their own right. This has begun to change, even going so far as to recently be seen in public as a group for the first time in the history of the City of Angels.

The message clear: take heed, the one true Baron of the Free State and her court have emerged.

Clan: Locke doesn't talk about clans, nor does he give off any particular hints. Most suspect a more down to Earth Toreador, or perhaps a fairly calm Brujah.

Biography:

The name Henry Locke has been around LA for as long the city has been anything worth talking about, but only come to the foreground of late. A roguish drifter who seemed to make his home in the City of Angels by chance following the chaos of the Second World War, the only details known about the man was that he originated from the United Kingdom, and knew enough to seamlessly enter the Supernatural Los Angeles Nights. Resolute in avoiding Kindred politics, Locke joined no Covens, sired no childer no played any of the usual games of the Night, focusing instead on whatever pet project he set his mind to.

He acquired the Sunset Lounge during the 80s, and has remained owner and bartender ever since, changing up his appearance enough every few years to avoid the suspicions of the kine. Most unacquainted with the supernatural consider the current Henry Locke to be a Henry Jnr, the spitting image of his father. For most of its history, the Sunset Lounge has played second fiddle to the other 'watering holes' the Kindred have used, put off by his willingness to serve any and all affiliations, and beings beyond Kindred, a fringe group of liberal anarchs seem to favour the establishment, and little more. The more militant of their movement swore by the Last Round, and the Camarilla had a hundred lesser establishments to choose from.

This changed with the recent events to plague the Final Nights. Death, destruction and maddness. LA has become infected with them, the pillars of Kindred society falling, one by one, until now even the very fabric of the Masquerade wears thin. Everywhere but the Sunset Lounge. For reasons unknown to all, Locke has succeeded in protecting his establishment from the retaliatory violence that has become a hallmark of LA's Kindred society. At Sunset, the lights stay on, and the music always plays.

Appearance:
Typical attire consists of a red leather jacket worn over her corset. Her corset carries multiple functions the tightness and rigidity are capable of keeping broken bones in place should she become injured, and the steel bars inside are sharpened on one end making for easy access stakes. She wears a thick leather collar around her neck since the neck is vulnerable to biting this can offer q limited protection. Under her jacket on her right forearm she wears a spring load claw that extends two razor sharp blades approximately a foot and a half in length. Other than that she wears a tight pair of dark blue jeans, and black calf high boots, as heels would be a hindrance than aid.

Personality: Maybe a bit too serious for her own good, but when dealing with creatures that can snap you like a twig, you kind of have to. She cares deeply for all life, and hates to see it so arbitrarily tossed away, so she will go out of her way to save others, and even risk her own life to make the Monsters she encounters see the terrible deeds they have committed. Besides other traits she has developed a sense of gullibility due to her belief that even the most vile creatures can be turned to good. This has lead to situations that have almost been her doom, but due to quick thinking she was able to overcome.

Biography: Typical American girl? Hardly, her life before her encounter with the world behind the shadows was rather average, but at the age of seventeen that all changed. Shania had encountered a rather nice guy at a club she had snuck into one night, he was mid twenties or so she thought, and for some reason she felt drawn to him. So several times a week for several months she would meet up with him at the clubs, going out for dinner. It wasn't until after a concert that Sam, and a close friend of Shania were wandering through the alleys towards her car that Shania saw the real Sam.

Those alleys became a nightmare as Sam's violence rose to heightened level, attacking Shania's friend and feasting upon her blood. It was then that Sam revealed his true motive, he wanted to make Shania his childer. They were interrupted though as Sam explained himself, another man wandering drunk into the alley. Sam moved to kill the man, but Shania stopped him, and explained to him what she had felt for him how she viewed him. Then began to explain to him the gravity of his killing of her friend. For hours they talked, and Sam looked to the sky as it began to turn purple with the dawn. It was in this moment he chose to end his life and met the sun, turning to ash before Shania's very eyes.

It would be for the next decade that Shania hunted down information about the supernatural, learned from other hunters and then sought out the monsters that lived in the shadows to redeem them. So it is after the large conflict in LA that her path had lead her and likely others to the city of Angels to search out the denizens of the dark, and bring them into the light one way or the other.

Personality: Acting reserved has always been a strong point of Anastasia's personality, putting others off guard in situations that would normally have others acting more belligerent or rash. Though she acts this way in public, in private Ana is quite the opposite. She acts on a whim fulfilling every desire she wishes, a cruel streaks runs through her which is amplified into sadistic acts due to her fascination with beautiful things. Entering her home will tell you much about the hidden personality of the normally cruel and calculating Anastasia.

Biography: What a glorious mortal she might have been, Princess of the powerful Byzantine Empire, engaged to Emperor Tervel of Bulgaria, but it was not to be, her life cut short at the age of seventeen. Her engagement while exciting would also be her undoing as she fell quickly into the clutches of a Tzimisce Kindred by the name of Kormeisy Dulo.

The vampire Kormeisy had been so entranced with Anastasia's beauty that he could not hold himself back from taking her, dispatching a band of men to slay her guards and take her captive. For weeks he held her locked in his private chambers spending his time speaking with her, admiring her but never touching. Then finally one day he offered her a gift, immortality, Dulo had grown on Ana, and the thought of an eternity remaining forever beautiful with him made her say yes immediately. And so Anastasia was given the gift, turned into a Vampire by the beautiful young man who had kid apoed her and she had fallen in love with. For a time she enjoyed this life, content to be his lover, protege, and pet. Though it wasn't long before ambition grew in her heart, and she wanted more than just being a trophy on a pedestal.

Then the time came, the revolts began to take place and the Sabbat began to take form. Though Anastasia knew of the revolts, and wished to take part in this turning of tr age, she knew she could not act alone, and instead began correspondence with other Kindred who had already freed themselves of their master's chains. So it was that one evening she would meet with others who arrived to help her subdue Dulo, they fought for what seemed like hours until he was finally restrained, and with rage in his eyes Dulo watched as Anastasia his childer devoured him.

As the years passed Anastasia was requested in Italy and Greece, her flare as a noble, and particular appearance lending well to her ability to play in the nobility there. She manipulated and contrived to the best of her ability, turning inquisitors upon one another when possible, attacking Camarilla vampires as often as she could, and even hunting the Inquisitors themselves when a vulnerability showed itself. This would prove to be a difficult ordeal though, the inquisition eventually finding her out, they chased her through the lands, all the way into Spain. It was there that she embraced a young noble woman, and shaped her into her own likeness, while at the same time taking on the woman's likeness. The inquisition took the poor newly turned Kindred burning her at the stake, while Anastasia lived in luxury as a young Spanish noble woman.

It was here she stayed in hiding, changing her appearance as needed, blending in with the nobility, killing widows and taking their place as an appropriate cover. That was until the expeditions to the Americas. She changed herself to that of a young noble woman out to see the world, joining Cortez on his expedition, placing her in Cuba, from which she started to spread her influence as quickly as possible, and amass as much wealth as possible. This position allowed her to easily grant other members of the Sabbat entry into the Americas and helped galvanize their hold over Cuba.

For decades she did not remove herself from the protection Cuba offered, rather supporting other Sabbat endeavors from afar with money, and newly turned Childer to bolster their forces elsewhere. Though this would change as the times changed the Camarilla overtaking Cuba, but Anastasia simply went into hiding waiting for a moment that seemed to never come as once more Cuba changed hands to the USSR and thus the Anarchs. Though through the help of manipulation on Anastasia's part Castro stepped down from his position the Sabbat once more gained control. Since then Anastasia has traveled a bit from Cuba, aiding in the repossession of Mexican drug cartels on behalf of the Sabbat, and now in recent times been named a Bishop and tasked with retaking Los Angeles.

Personality
Eric has always been an idealist and a humanist, but prior to his Embrace, he expressed these beliefs quietly and with subtlety. After that final Kiss, however, O'Hara took on the infamous temperament of the Brujah clan, becoming passionate, forthright, and loud. Whilst many Elders look upon this behaviour as that of a petulant youth, beneath the aggression and punk attitude lies an empathic young man with good intentions.
As with many younger vampires, O'Hara doesn't hold the same ideology or outlook found in older Kindred and considers himself a progressive force, pushing himself to work against his Beast and striving towards "Olympic ideals" unknowingly lifted directly from ancient Brujah teachings. He believes that everyone should strive for mental and physical achievement through knowledge and experience.
As a Neonate, Eric also still holds a strong sentimental attachment to mortals and his former life as a human, and becomes increasingly defensive of his family and past should they be insulted or threatened.

Biography
Born in 1984 to William and Melinda O'Hara, Eric grew up as the middle child of three in a working-class neighbourhood of Queens. Spending most of his life working in one way or another, be it part-time jobs whilst studying, or helping his sister take care of their baby brother, O'Hara knew what it meant to straddle the poverty line. His mother cleaned houses and his father was a foreman, yet the two found ways to provide for their family.
Due to this upbringing, Eric was a first-hand witness to the consequences of furthering the gap between the lower and upper class. He developed a disdain for figures of hypocritical authority and a dislike of power in general, finding himself drawn to the budding grunge and anti-consumerist culture of the 1990s.

Eventually, the young man forced his way into college (partially at his parents' behest), attending Queens College to study literature and philosophy. It was during his studies that Eric was unknowingly introduced to his first vampire.
Delilah Carn was a friend-of-a-friend-of-a-friend, and she was smooth, loud, tough, and opinionated. Eric was in love. She, in turn, was taken by Eric's grounded perspective of the world and his innate desire to cause change. Quickly, the two developed an on-off relationship over the following months.

On his 21st birthday, however, Eric's life as he knew it came to an end. During a night of drunken celebration, Eric and a handful of classmates were involved in a fatal accident, their car finding itself wrapped around the front of a semi. While most of his classmates died, Eric survived, barely, with mortal wounds. He was hospitalised and considered to be in critical condition. No one believed he'd live through the week.
Delilah quickly caught wind of the situation and paid him a visit. In her grief, accentuated by her brash Brujah attitude, Delilah Embraced Eric in order to save whatever vestige of him that was left.

As Delilah was an Anarch merely visiting Camarilla territory, she knew her violation of the Traditions, specifically the Right of Creation, would come with a severe punishment. Deciding to flee back to the Free States for sanctuary, she convinced Eric to come with her. During their cross-country road trip, she explained to him the fundamentals of their kind, such as their rules and how to survive.
Once they'd reached San Diego, Delilah spent time requesting sanctuary for her and her childe in order to prevent them from meeting the Final Death. In the end, a judgement was made: as Eric had no choice over his Embrace, he would be welcomed into the Anarch States. However, due to Delilah's negligence, she was to be expelled in order to prevent further conflict with surrounding Camarilla states.
Before Delilah was forced to flee, she got into contact with an old friend, Quinton Lanoux, a wandering Gangrel from New Orleans who had a history with her sire. Requesting, pleading, as a friend for him to watch over Eric and to teach him the basics of their kind, Quinton hesitantly agreed and took the fledgeling under his wing temporarily.

Over the years, Quint and Eric travelled throughout the Free State territories, steering clear of San Francisco due to its Camarilla ties, and Quint even trained Eric in the art of Fortitude in order help better his odds of survival. Eventually, the duo found themselves in Los Angeles, and Quint decided it was time to cut the neonate loose in order to allow him to make it on his own. Using contacts of his and Delilah's, the local Elders funding low-tier Havens granted residence to Eric in a Downtown apartment. The two said their goodbyes and went their separate ways.
In the months since his arrival, Eric has made a handful of acquaintances and even a friend in the form of Xavier Reyes, commonly called "Rey" by his friends. However, in the wake of the recent chaos and the lowered numbers of Elders in the city, Eric's Haven has been financially compromised, and he and the other neonates of the city are now on edge, unsure about their place or the safety of the Free States.

Eric's sire, this raven-haired rebel was Embraced in the early 19th century during the blossoming years of the romanticised "Wild West". Xavier "Rey" Reyes

An ally and friend to Eric since his time in Los Angeles, Rey was Embraced in the 1960s and became embroiled in the budding punk culture of the 1970s and onwards, using music as his own personal expression of art. Today, he doesn't play as often as he'd like to but takes the occasional opportunity to grab his guitar, keeping the rebellious spirit of punk rock alive.

Quinton "Quint" Lanoux

An older Cajun Gangrel who was acquaintances with Lily's sire and, in turn, Lily herself. Lily used this "friendship" in order to convince Quint to adopt Eric temporarily in order to help him gain an understanding of the Kindred world, and the two have since developed a stoic father-son relationship. Currently wandering somewhere in the Midwest, Quint also sparingly funnels information through to Eric concerning his family, using a network of nomadic Gangrel contacts throughout the country.

There are some people you just get bad feelings about. The kind that you know have something wrong with them, some kind of mental illness or something. They don't laugh at the right jokes, they laugh too much at the wrong jokes, and when you look them in the eyes all you get is Chianti and fava beans. Michelle Darrens is one of those people on crack.

It's hard to express Michelle's personality because first one has to get over the very certain knowledge that you will still be alive when she starts to eat you. No bones about it, all 'when's not 'if's, the woman sitting across from you is waiting to rip you open by the flanks and feast on your insides like an elk. It's in the twitch of her fingers, the tension in her shoulders. It's right behind those dead-marble black eyes or that sardonic, 'isn't vivisection fun?' smile. Whatever monster there is under her skin wants out, badly and visibly, and it's really a shame because if you got to know her...

Well. She might have been such a nice girl, but life got there first.

Bored as acid and twice as caustic, Michelle is the kind of depressed you don't get better from. The kind that comes from not thinking but knowing that it's not going to be okay, that you will never be alright, and that one day you'll go out like you came into this world--naked, screaming, and covered in someone else's raspberry jam. She's so depressed that she's practically looped around to cheery, the kind of 'fuck it!' nihilism that lets her at least be mad at the world instead of just a mess. And lord is she mad at the world for all of the stupid, awful things it does to all of its stupid, awful people.

If you can get past all that, she's really just wants to look pretty in a sun dress.

Biography:
Once upon a time there was a little girl. Her mom was all sorts of a slut and went through four and a half 'boyfriends' by the time her daughter was eleven, but that's not really important. They were all of them decent enough guys with decent enough money, and if she never bothered to learn their names then at least they never molested her or anything. She never really had friends and never really knew or cared which one was her father, because none of them ever really knew her name or cared if they were her father either. Instead, they spent all day screwing and whatever else it was they did while her mother was off finding her next boyfriend and left Michelle to her own devices, which mostly included reading trashy magazines, making mediocre art, and trying to make friends at whatever school she happened to be at for the moment. It probably would have continued in much the same pattern had she not flipped out and eaten her mother's latest squeeze.

To be fair, he deserved it. Alright, alright, so maybe he didn't deserve it--he was a weasel of a guy with a salary job and a receding hairline, the kind that was always a little nervous but nice enough to make small talk. He was also the kind of guy who kept pictures of under-ten-year-olds doing very naughty things on his hard drive and forgot that his girlfriend's daughter came home early on Wednesdays, and boy was she mad when she found out. Mad enough to huff, and puff, and turn into a twelve foot wolf-monster. When she came to a half an hour later crying and throwing up fingers in the bathroom toilet, it was safe to say that Michelle's days of making fridge art were over.

Whatever happened to her fetch was anyone's guess; it took nearly two weeks for the local garou sept to track her down, during which she ran away from home and put at least one police squad attempting to bring her back home through what appeared to be some kind of blender. When the Get of Fenris finally got a hold of her it was clear enough that she was 'more than favored' by their favorite ferocious mythological wolf--she was barely controllable, the kind of monster that scares other monsters. Fortunately for her, fighting fire with fire was a time-honored strategy among those peerless warriors, and so they put her to work cleaning house for Gaia. And, for a while, she was almost happy.

But that was years ago. Two packs and three city's later, Michelle is pretty much done with pretending she's a monster for Gaia--now she's just a monster that kills monsters and tries not to kill good guys. Among the Get they call people like her Mjolnir's Thunder, homicidal sociopaths out to kill the Wyrm and cut down anything that gets in their way, but that's not quite true of Michelle.

Not yet, at least.

Name: Ezekiel "Zeke" Kristoff, takes up the modern pseudonym of Malakai Faustus

Personality: Arrogant and imperious, even in undeath, Zeke embodies many of the stereotypes of old wizards when it comes to personality. Confident in his abilities, a curmudgeon about change even at his relatively "young" age, and highly interested in knowledge of all kinds, especially that of the arcane as is his research. He likes the adoration of his "disciples", glares at those who give him looks for his style of dress, and is mostly ambivalent towards Kindred and Kine who treat him with respect.

Biography: Born in the village of Salem, Massachusetts in 1678, Ezekiel was raised by a family of God-fearing, clean-living Christians who worked to make a good name of their family and raise their children to be upstanding members of British Colonial Society, like most others at the time. As a child, Ezekiel was taught the Commandments and Scriptures, Original Sin, and to be watchful of the Devil's machinations to tempt humans and damn their eternal souls through his various agents, the Witches and Heretics.

Such a stringent upbringing, a total lack of exposure to any such socially unseemly elements only heightened Zeke's curiosity of them as he grew older. Why, pray tell, were these people so bad? What were they doing to make people fear and revile them so much? When he was 14, the infamous Salem Witch Trials occurred, and though the public hysteria around Witches and any practitioners of the dark arts were becoming increasingly more taboo than they already were, Zeke's fascination with them only increased. Surely there must be something truly fearful to these people that others would devote so much effort to hunting and rooting them out of society, and if it was true, then were the dark arts, magic itself, real?

Eventually leaving Salem to Boston proper to become a dock worker with what meagre funds he had, his family not having enough money to afford studies as a scholar, he spent his spare earnings he saved on purchasing books on the occult and supernatural, or borrowing the more publicly "decent" and available ones from libraries both private and public. He made his inquiries quietly, knowing full well the danger he ran in delving into forbidden studies.

For years he worked in Boston, slowly building up his store of arcane lore and assumptions on it, though he knew he had no way of knowing if any of them were remotely correct. Eventually a travelling circus came to town in 1710, when Zeke was 30, and among their cadre of freaks was a man who claimed to be a genuine magician, he performed shows at night, and the man himself, Zaroff the Magnificent, was supposedly never seen during the day, spending the whole time in his tent with his assistants keeping all manner of visitors away. The Ring Leader apparently had no problem with the magician's strange behaviours, since he always sold out crowds with his acts. Zeke attended a sold-out performance one night, and like much of the crowd was amazed by some of the spectacular tricks and performances that he could hardly believe they were illusions.

Zeke pestered Zaroff after the show, begging to be shown how he could do what he showed him, or to explain how he knew what he knew as a magician. Zaroff tried to shoo off the pestering labourer, but Zeke's persistence and evident primary but crude interests and knowledge of the arcane which he wasted in time in expounding upon the tired magician caught his interest. He told him to meet him again within a moon's turn, a month away at the end of the circus' time in Boston proper and if he was willing, maybe he'd show him some tricks of his trade.

In reality, "Zaroff" merely needed the time to seek permission from his Elders in the Camarilla to sire a childe, and to see if Zeke was actually serious and not just some idiot. A month later, Zeke appeared before his tent again, as resolute as ever, and that night, Zaroff took Zeke in the embrace, and made him into a Vampire of the Tremere Bloodline. That night, Zaroff, now revealing his true name of Georg Atterdag, explained the rules of unlife from now on. Zeke would come with him back to Europe, to take the Oath of Tremere and partake in the blood of the Inner Council of Seven, and thence forth he would apprentice under him as Magus and as Childe, from whom he would learn how to wield the art of Thaumaturgy (the true magic, not the parlour tricks Georg plied to please and fascinate the Kine), and learn all of the Traditions of Cainite society.

For 290 years, Zeke has wandered through Europe and North America with the times, avoiding and partaking in conflicts, seeking greater knowledge and power, and enjoying his unlife. Serving Clan Tremere long after he became free to make his own destiny out from the responsibility of his sire, Georg, and learning more and more about how to manipulate Thaumaturgy to slowly grow in power. A fierce supporter of the Camarilla and his clan, he rose to the rank of Magister, and accompanied Georg, now a Regent, to Washington D.C. to found a Chantry there.

Things didn't go too well on that venture. The Camarilla faced attacks by the Sabbat over control of the city in Modern Nights, and the Tremere being their second strongest supporters were prime targets when they setup a Chantry within the city limits. When the Sabbat came in force to take the city from the hands of the Camarilla, the Chantry was hit among the hardest. Georg died defending his Chantry, and numerous other Apprentices and Acolytes died or were taken by the Sabbat that Night, and Zeke did the only pragmatic thing, he fled and sped out of town as fast as his car could take him. Jumping from Camarilla Chantry to another, he resolved to make his own path somewhere far from The Sabbat and his now shattered past on the East Coast and try to serve the interests of Kindred and Clan on the West Coast, a new frontier for the Camarilla and Sabbat, but long stomping grounds for the Anarchs and many others.

Thus, he sought the City of Angels 2 years ago to make a new unlife for himself, and start a new chapter in his ambitions. Not having the authority or even seeking to make something so open as a Chantry in Los Angeles, especially since there was no official Prince or Regent anymore, none that were aligned with the Camarilla, thanks to the ongoing conflict there that was supposedly decimating the Elder Kindred there. Thus, he decided to start very simply, he set up his own cult, The Followers of Nodens, making the name after the writings of H.P. Lovecraft.

He made it to appeal to the New-Age Yuppie-kids crowd that sought a way to rebel against their parents, "the system", or were striving to find their own individual identity, the usual suckers. It was a two-part operation, the first being the more widely known organization that sold punk apparel, ran a tattoo and piercing shop, did hairstyling, sold heavy metal and punk music of all kinds, under the counter drugs and light weapons, and dabbled in selling Satanist edgy "dark magic" manuals and paraphernalia, all of which were bullshit knock-offs to get money out of said suckers. The second part was for the more serious, and was located in the backrooms and basement of his property, where the actual cult practiced and attended to Zeke as akin to a God himself. All of its members were Ghouls of Zeke's, his servants to move about and do tasks in his name where he could not in the light of the day, and whom were his main "herd" to feed off of and so were carefully chosen for their ability as much as their pedigree from being mere employees to actual Cult members. The exclusivity only made his cult more mysterious and sought-after by the young crowd. He never taught them any magic, as the Tremere Code forbade it, but with their bounds as Ghouls that didn't matter to any of them, they saw his powers in action and were bound to him absolutely.

Zeke's current ambitions revolve around projecting his presence into the ring of LA formally now that he had established himself, and to potentially sire his first childe, if he could find a suitable and worthy apprentice. More than anything, like all Tremere, Zeke seeks to find greater power and schemes to advance himself and the Clan's interests, and his business in the city of Angels is no exception.

Name: Gareth Allard
Age: 154. Appearance-wise early 40's.
Species: Kindred, Malkavian, Camarilla. 8th generation.
Personality:
Gareth is obsessive, cunning, unyielding and not a little bit mad. He lives for his job, and his personality accomodates for it. Naturally investigative and curious, smart enough to know not to poke his nose where it doesn't belong yet clearly deranged enough to do so anyway. When Gareth is given a mission - or picks one - he will follow it through no matter what. As determined and brutal as he is in these aspects, as contradictory is other parts of his personality. Gareth is social and witty, laidback in conversations as well as life in general whenever not working.

When he keeps his madness in check, Gareth is an exceptional detective and informant. He knows a lot of stuff and a lot of people, and a lot of stuff about a lot of people. His main hobby in life (death) is indeed his job, and he works with serious tenacity. Gareth has a photographic memory, something he makes use of along with his analytical skills. Gareth doesn't employ a large network of contacts like many others in his business do, but opts to go places and physically finding out stuff himself. He has contacts, of course, just not the numbers one might expect of a man in Gareth's position. He is not beyond using technology, but it's generally just not his forte. It is a common belief amongst people who know him that the only way to keep Gareth "sane" is to keep him working, as his focus seem to at least temporarily overcome his curse.

He acts erratically, and can often be found writing nonsense on walls whenever he has a pen and time in and on his hands. He is impossible to offend, and treats others as if they were the same. He understands nothing of art, but loves it and collects it. Paintings, in particular. He likes plenty of other people, but isn't above killing any of them. Some (most) would call him a sociopath, but Gareth merely views himself as Gareth. He simply, generally speaking, does what he wants, whether it's talking, laughing or killing.

Speaking of which, Gareth firmly believes that the laws of Camarilla should be upheld no matter what, yet seemingly has tremendous troubles not to break them himself. His mad streaks include, but are not limited to, an incessant need for tormenting various creatures, preferably Kine or Garou, a very strong need to drink blood no matter how recently he fed, a compulsive repression of his human memories and very, very real nightmares that sometimes occur when he is awake, as if they were visions. Indeed, he believes they are. Moreover, he doesn't even dislike Kine nor Garou, he just wants - needs - to brutally murder them.

Biography:
Gareth is the proud proprietor, owner and only employee of Allard's Agency, a private detective firm that isn't actually a private detective firm but rather a room in a deserted office building in the outskirts of Los Angeles, with a homemade sign reading "Allard's Agency" nailed to the door. Living in Boston since the early 20's, Gareth Allard has been part information broker, part private detective and part hitman in employ of the Camarilla. During later years he has, however, had his hitman "license" revoked by the Camarilla as these murders seemed to ramp up his madness rather than take off the pressure, leading to less than satisfying results.

Gareth used to be the premiere information broker in Boston, but was due to reasons as of yet unknown the subject of a personal vendetta driven by Boston's Prince - Quentin King III. Gareth chose to flee rather than fight, and left Boston for the warmer climate of Los Angeles a mere six months ago. It wasn't the climate that drew Gareth to Los Angeles though, but rather connections and possibilities. Generally a city of turmoil, LA has been even more chaotic than usual lately - a great opportunity for someone like Gareth to squeeze in. Moreover, Gareth's childe - Alima - is an established figure in Los Angeles.

Today, Gareth is the go-to-guy for many of Los Angeles' less fortunate supernaturals whenever they need help and information in particular, be it about other beings of the night, kine, companies, history or even themselves. That is assuming they can pay the price, naturally. Gareth takes payment in a rather unusual form - that of people. When Gareth is contracted, he typically wants a specific type of person, or even a specific individual, as payment. This is more than likely another reason Gareth has not reached the heights he might have otherwise done. Moreover, Gareth also undertakes missions of his own, usually merely in order to satisfy his curiosity, which is never satisfied.

Gareth remembers little of is human life, but he believes he was a math teacher. Or a janitor. Or something else. Likely a murderer or similarly depraved individual, or so Gareth has concluded based on his own behaviour. What he does know is that he originally comes from Wyoming, that his father was a dentist and that his mother was not. He also knows he was embraced in 1863, because his now dead sire has told him so.

He has had many dealings and contacts throughout his years in Boston, and had he not been mad and instead actually cared about power and influence, chances are he would have been a very powerful and influential person by now. Instead, he has often been used by his ungrateful peers - but Gareth simply never cared. He is popular and reputable amongst many Malkavians across the States and have been so for quite some time, and while most vampires would never trust Gareth, they tend to like his antics whether they want to or not. Paradoxically, the orderly Camarilla clans seem to have the most problem with Gareth as a person, yet the most use of him as a professional.

While Gareth Allard is new to the LA scene, he has already earned the respect of the lower standing citizens, and the higher ups are no doubt fully aware of who they now have in their midst. If one were to make Gareth an enemy, he might even now prove very dangerous indeed - but how do you make an enemy out of someone who literally can not be offended?
