Eldarin did a quick mental recap and made sure all his gear was where it should be before sitting up. "Been long enough yet?" Not that he would mind more sleep but he also wouldn't mind leaving this place behind him. Not that moving on would put him anywhere safer, he had a feeling things would only get worse from here on in fact. However he refused to go back.

"Yes. The guards have made a few rounds but most have stood down for the time being." he explained, peering out of the window again briefly and shuddering slightly. "The smithy's place is past the town square, in the merchant district. Tell him Marron sent you... then get back here and i'll take you to the tunnel." the voice hissed slightly as it spoke.

Eldarin nodded. "Very well then, I'll be as quick as I can." After a moment of thought Eldarin set down his shield. It was too bulky and far too distinctive to carry around. "I'll be back." He repeated and stepped outside walking casually, but quickly, towards the town square and then to the smith. His thoughts were on the stranger who was helping him and the strange traits he'd displayed. Wrapped up in a cloak, then further wrapped in bandages. Odd orange eyes, teeth that were un-naturally sharp and visible. And finally that odd hiss he spoke with. Eldarin had a creeping suspicion that his new friend wasn't human. Still it didn't matter, if it had wanted him dead it would've killed him in his sleep. Probably.

Outside, it was still dark. The moon was high in the sky, clouds blanketing it and casting a slight light down upon the town. The poorer district was mostly uninhabited, but when Eldarin reached the town square, he could see guards were patrolling, a guard captain speaking to his subordinates. The blacksmiths was across the square, he could almost see it...

Eldarin let out a deep calming breath. Well there was nothing for it but to simply head for the blacksmith confidently. There was no way he could sneak across and doing so would simply look suspicious. Either the guards would do something or they wouldn't and no amount of waiting would fix that. So Eldarin stepped quickly through the square towards the blacksmith, moving with determination but just short of hurriedly.

For a moment, it seemed one of the guards would catch him... but he heard the curious ringing of a small bell nearby, distracting the guards long enough for him to slip into the Blacksmith's shop. It was very warm inside, a roaring fire stoked and crackling invitingly. A heavy anvil was set and a large vat of water sat beside it, various tools of the smithing trade sat around the shop, hanging from its walls and on various tables and surfaces. Sitting on a three legged stool was a man of unknowable age, a man of rippling strong physique with muscular arms and a broad chest, hidden beneath his meagre grey shirt and black sturdy apron. The man had a short white beard, greying at the fringes and hair to match, a hammer clutched in one hand as he was working on a short sword, still hot.
"Ahh... seems we have a visitor." the man noted, looking up from his work. "What brings ye here, lad? Not the kind of night to be sneakin' around, is it?"

Eldarin calmed down the screaming paranoia as he made it safely into the smith's shop, the blacksmith greeted him and Eldarin grinned in response, "Sneaking around, me? I was just having a walk is all. Though since you brought it up, I'm looking for something to help me fit in a little better. Perhaps say, something like those guards are wearing." His voice was cordial enough but mostly neutral. "Of course I have a few coins to reimburse you for your services."

The blacksmith chuckled richly at his words and got up, moving over to a supply cupboard and hefting out a familiar looking suit of armour, the kind the guards wore. "This here will do. But the guards here use numbers set into their armour to tell one another apart. So i'm going to have to do a little work." he explained, sitting back down. "Coin's good and all lad, but it's ichor that pays a smith like me. If you've got a flask of that, I can do work for you." the old man nodded as he got settled upon the stool again.

Eldarin nodded, pleased that this wasn't a pointlessly dangerous trip. "Not to worry, I've got some of that too. Though if I may ask, what are you going to use the ichor for?" Eldarin wasn't sure if he just wanted to drink or put it to some other use. Perhaps ichor was some sort of advanced currency in this place? He was at a bit of a loss for information and knowing what was what could help him later along the road, certainly knowing more never hurt anyone.

"Haha! You're not local, are ya?" he laughed richly. "Ichor's what I forge with, lad. It's a trade native only to Galothiel, smithin' the godless stuff into metal and weapons to make them strong enough to stand up to gods themselves. At least, that's what the stories'll tell ya." he grinned.
