I am interested. Why am I interested, though? I hate Naruto ironically.

Does starting as genin mean all of our characters will be pre-teens? The only old genin I know of is that really old one and Guy's dad who was played for laughs.

Genin characters should be 10-12 starting off.

I'm interested in this. I was wondering though how we'd all interact if we are from different villages?

Man, haven’t seen you around in ages, Pot. Been awhile.

Anyway, given the setting is Konohagakure I want to restrict players to make ideas from the village initially. Conceptually, we might be able to work with people who want to play around once we have enough people to make the village feel developed. This is because people tend to make Konoha the center of immigration in these type of RPs which has always been a pet peeve of mine.

Just so y'all know; it's not because I don't wanna be friends with the lot of you and have a gay ol' time in the chat-a-ma-thingy. I'm just a busy bird these days with one kid at home and one in the hospital. Don't worry, the kid in the hospital is fine; he just needs some help breathing and stuff 'cause he was extremely premature. I won't bore you with details.

I will be working on my character(s)* whenever I have a moment of time, but I was sort of under the impression that it would take more than a week or two before the OOC went up. If I'd know I had known it was that soon, I would have not signed up. Since I DID sign up, I hope you can bear with me for the first few weeks.

*I will be making multiple characters and then likely only choosing one to actually play, because that's my thing and I like to make more work for myself than needed.

This weekend is the earliest window I’m looking at, not the window. Don’t worry about pace, because this will likely not be a really “every day” thing. When the OOC is up it is in intention of just giving more information and allowing people to ask questions if they don’t have the time for Discord (which is fine).

The focus is on characterization and depth, but given the nature of Naruto there will probably be combat and difficult situations that require thinking and acting on the spot. So I would say... yes and no. If and when the “new” conflict occurs or the chunin evaluations/exams come up— it’ll be a point of combat being central but it will never be superfluous.

I've been in Naruto RPs before (once upon a time) and the only thing they did was have "action" scenes. As soon as the "action" stopped they skipped forwards in time until there was more fighting. It was just exhausting. Some was fine, but not all the time.

Essentially my idea is to focus on the characters. Like I said, I believe at the heart of it that Naruto is about the character's growth as a genin, the camaraderie they create with their friends, the bonds that deepen through experience, and ultimately the path they take. It isn’t about “badass shinobi murkin’ bitches” or grandiose plots about chakra demons— I’ve had friends who’ve disagreed with me before, but my intention here is to tell a collaborative story that is both narrative and character-driven to build a world that follow that theme. I will be developing emotional plot twists, dynamic histories, and a lot of other nonsense. It’ll be fun.

Been a while since I've roleplayed, but I'm incredibly interested in this. Much like Sargent, I've been in one or two Naruto RPs in the past, and they were all rather focused on the combat aspect with very little character interaction outside of it.
