//DESCRIPTION:Oscar's a white boy, through and through. He doesn't have the tell-tale red hair--it's just as black as Obama's favorite military operations--but it takes about two seconds of talking to him for the average person to discern that he's an Irishman. People tend to pick up on the accent, but living in America has actually softened it quite a bit. He's short and stout, with a solid frame of lean muscle all over. Another thing to notice is that he's always smiling, regardless of what goes on, really. He smiles when he's gleeful, when he's bored, when he's bawling his eyes out, and even when he's pissed. The only time he drops the smile is when he's alone.
He tends to juxtapose business suits with urban gear. A favorite choice of his is a muscle shirt under a button-up. Even if the shirts aren't tucked in, you'll most likely see a tie around his collar. Probably black jeans. When he's on the run, you'll either see him in a leather jacket or a hoodie. Combat boots are a must. On his back, on either side of his spine, there are some pretty gnarly scars from where a couple Hellions gave him a peice of their minds. Lastly, there's the matter of his only tattoo: an alien looking symbol on his left wrist. He keeps it concealed beneath a wrist watch ninety percent of the time.
"For some strange reason, people are less skeptical of magical explanations than cutting edge scientific research."
His father, Ezekiel Wilder, had actually served on the Lower Parliament of the Republic of Ireland just shy of twenty years before retiring from politics, in 1984. Ezekiel would never realize it, but he'd actually undergone viriumosis and developed the ability to indiscriminately cause people to release oxytocin when in his proximity. People, especially women, mistakenly concluded that he was outstandingly charming. The ultimate payoff of his abilities was a sextet of children from different mothers and a large settlement awarded after an automobile accident.
Oscar was one of those six children, born by way of his only ex-wife, Irene Schwartz-Wilder, in 1992. Oscar had always been a rambunctious youth, a schoolyard scrapper and the recipient of much harassment from educators. He'd often tell his parents that he'd heard noises, the rattling of chains or perhaps the song of some incorporeal soldier, but the day came when he did see something, something he would never be able to unsee.
The first hint toward Oscar's true nature came to him when he was twelve years old. It was the fall of 2006 and he was playing fetch with his dog, Kody. He threw a bone for the dog to fetch. That damnable canine did not cooperate, so Oscar went to go get the ball himself. But when he reached for the bone, the bone seemed to reach back. Oscar swore up and down that the bone floated right on up into his hand. He tried again, finding the same result. Afraid, suddenly aware that he would never be understood, he screamed and swore, venting his spleen on the innocent sunset.
Now, he suspected that he was a monster, possessed by some sort of demon or cursed or something, but was afraid his parents would stop loving him if he explained his situation. As luck would have it, his father stopped loving him anyways before kicking him, along with his mother, to the curb in a quickie divorce. When Oscar was informed of his family's fate, he could hardly contain his anger. Let me amend that, he could not contain his anger. He accidentally snapped his father's femur at the height of his osteokinetic rage. The moment felt uncanny. Oscar knew he was responsible, but Ezekiel assumed that it was a freakish, but perfectly mundane, incident.
With half of Ezekiel's money, Irene was set for life. So, in 2010 she and Oscar moved to Crecent City, USA to find a fresh start. Now, his unorthodox abilities provoked Oscar to feel even more out of place than a normal pubescent immigrant and, to make matters worse, Kody died. So Oscar buried the dog in his backyard, under a heavy concrete slab meant to last far beyond Oscar's lifetime.
Even so, he would go on to graduate high school. He even went to college and got certified as a radiation technician, learning about bones. The realistic possibility of being one of the phenomenal hyper-humans hadn't even occurred to him until around this time. Rather than attempting to hide from his abilities, he began exploring them and keeping a careful diary.
In the Winter of 2015, Oscar had gone hiking on Old Stone Mountain with intentions of self-discovery. Oddly enough, the biggest thing he learned about himself was that he'd led a very boring lifestyle. Furry things with horns, like some kind of bipedal goat monster, attacked him when he was near the summit of his destination. He thought he was a goner for sure. But at the last second, his life was saved by some babe with crazy tattoos running up her arms, decked out in tight fitting armor. She told him to run away and to forget what he'd seen. So, like any thing man would, he completely disobeyed her, grabbing a sturdy tree branch and fighting by her side. When the fighting was done, she chided him and threatened to kill him if he ever spoke of what he'd seen. He gave her his number.
Would you believe it? She called him, yes she did. She completely refused to explain anything about where she learned to fight, but she did explain that she was a twenty year old Swede, named Lena, who admired his bravery and could use a friend. They went out a couple times, she was basically leading him on and had no real intentions for a lasting relationship, until Oscar shared his bone-chilling secret. Upon discovering his abilities, Lena made it her pet project to teach Oscar to use it in combat.
Since puppeting people by their bones was light-years from his skill level, Lena forced him to dig up Kody's grave and learn to use his skeleton as a weapon. Lena would disappear for weeks at a time without explanation, but the time came when Oscar was enlightened. She belonged to the Venari, an order of scientifically sketchy monster hunters. It was against the council's wishes that a Hunter enter into a relationship with a Mundane, but given Oscar's Hyper-human status, she reasoned that he could be taught to take care of himself. The two then would go on frequent, romantic, monster slaying getaways. But then the time came when Lena grew anxious, suspecting that Oscar would accidentally say too much and give cause for her expulsion from the Venari. Taking proactive measures, she gave him a tattoo that would seal away any memories related to the Venari whenever she had been away from him for more than a few hours.
The side effects were far more severe than expected. Oscar still retains the skills that he developed alongside Lena, he even knows lots of things about Hellions, but he can't remember where he learned them, anything about the Venari, or his time spent with Lena. Because his lady love is blocked off from his memory, he often feels like he's always forgetting some important piece of information. Instead of targeting Hellions, he has decided to set his sights on a breed of monster whose existence is entirely undisputed: Criminal.

"I'm not a lunatic--I'm a superhero!"
Oscar has always been the boy to cry wolf. He's always been screaming that the sky is falling. He's always "known" that there was something under his bed. Instead of realizing that the things from his childhood were never real, he's concluded that everyone else should've believed him all along. He's met real monsters. He's killed real monsters. He knows the things that go bump in the night and he's been trying to sound the alarm his entire life. He figures that by addressing more mundane threats, he can gain the credibility that he needs to convince the world that "aliens" exist (he figures that all supernatural creatures are simply aliens whose origins are unknown).
But it's also worth addressing that he wants to uncover the secrets of the universe for his own benefit. His Venari-induced amnesia has caused him to lose his confidence in certain respects. He often finds himself knowing that he knows exactly where his tattoo came from, but he is simply incapable of putting his tongue on it. It's the same phenomena for why he's single. He just feels.. taken, despite not believing he has a girlfriend.

//ABILITIES:◼ OSTEOKINESIS | Oscar's hyperhuman gift is to control bone like it is a muscle, even bones that do not belong to himself. Even bones that aren't human in origin. He has yet to come across a bone that proved indifferent to his siren song.
If he wishes, he can reel a bone in, towards him, as though it were at the end of a psyonic fishing line. To the same extent, he can push a bone away, as far as his eye can see. He can also rotate bones, along with causing them to strafe left or right. If he so desires, he can even cause a bone to fold in on itself, or, even more shocking, he can coax the bone to lose its integrity and explode, blasting splinters in all directions.
His control over bones is even more precise if his abilities are exercised over multiple bones from the same skeleton (their matching chemical make-up makes them easier to keep coordinated). Yes, he can control skeletons, causing them to levitate and dance about like puppets or, to the distaste of the wicked, he can make them fight.
//SKILLS:◼ FIGHTING | He isn't actually trained in any particular discipline, but he has gotten very good at getting out of harm's way, with quick rolls and swift dodges. When it comes to actually attacking, he mostly just jumps at whatever openings he can find, letting his weaponized bones do most of the fighting.
◼ RHYMING | Being exposed to do many extraordinary people and creatures has encouraged Oscar to create thematic rhymes that lend an air of excitement to a situation. Otherwise, he writes poems and songs for a variety of reasons.
◼ TRACKING | One of the first things that Lena has taught him was how to identify and differentiate the scents of different sorts of creatures. He is also exceedingly competent at spotting disturbances in natural environments, to the point where he can identify a trail (though he is admittedly a true ameteur).
//LIMITATIONS:◼ CONCENTRATION | Like a juggler, he can only divert his attention to so many objects, bones or skeletons, at once. Right now, he can finagle about three. But this number has changed and will continue to change.
◼ OBSTACLES | The primary limitation on Oscar's control over bone is the flesh that surrounds it. If a bone is wrapped by a large amount of muscle, it may be a challenge to overpower the aforementioned muscle via remote manipulation of the bone, though it can be done.
◼ RANGE | Oscar's range isn't really determined by a set distance, or at least he hasn't encountered any situations where the lack of proximity has been an obstacle. He's found that he can move bones according to his will, so long as he can either see or visualize what they are doing. If either of these conditions are not met, he will lose "grip" of the bones, so to speak.
//WEAKNESSES:◼ OVERCONFIDENCE | Unless he is impressed by something that someone does, he's apt to defaultedly assume that he's surrounded by morons. He'll usually judge just about anyone who disagrees with him as either stupid or naive. Despite feeling like he's constantly overlooking something important, he's inclined to overcompensate for his insecurity with overconfidence.
◼ PARANOIA | He knows that aliens exist--that is not up for discussion! But he has the idea that Hellions/Celestials are a whole lot more common than they actually are. He thinks that "monsters" and "aliens" are everywhere that they're not confirmed to be absent. It scares him and it causes him to worry about people excessively.
◼ VULNERABILITY | Like a non-hyper human, he is vulnerable to countless forms of injury, ranging from the extravagant to the truly boring. Osteokinesis is useful in making his bones slightly sturdier for a moment, but that's not nearly as much of a protection as Oscar would like to have.
