I've birthed so many bunnies that I think my warren may explode. So many potential ideas, I think I need help...

Here they exist in no particular order, with a cursory once over for grammar and spelling. These are the raw ideas, (as I would spend way too much time making them presentable and therefore lose hope, to eventually let them rot on my hard-drive for a few more years.) I have interest in something as simple as another person picking a character (or making a new one) and jumping off into the deep end with just the concepts, with the exception of two (and you will know which two, trust me) (not yet posted).

Maybe, you only liked one line! Tell me what it was and we can try something entirely dependent on that. :) Maybe you had NO idea what was going on...then just skip it. :P You won't hurt my feelings. Some of these bunnies may have been dead for a good reason.

Some of these were stright-up RP characters, some were Nation starters, and some are short stories I never finished but don't want to leave alone. Take a look, comment or PM, anything. I just hate to sit on old stuff forever.

Maybe you have a wandering established character you would like to insert into any of these ideas. Really, anything. The only bad response is no response. I just want to play (hard or soft, causal or hard-core, anything. For Real)

Now, beware of rambling. This one is more of a stream consciousnesses for a potential plot...

This next one really needs to have at least one irl male player (as I am female). It needs to ride a line: to not bash any particular sex or gender but to point out the flaws of all sides. This one is a pet project that need not be taken personally seriously. I WILL be exploring subjective ideas, during the course of which (if I have an interested party or parties) should NEVER be taken as a personal attack. This one I require a person to be over 18, if only for the fact that I want to look at ideas that may not have yet been experienced or explored in a person under such age. I'm 27, by no means a time-tested adult, but I've been in society for long enough to really want to explore. {So, potential trigger warnings?} If I were to find a few players, we would do initial play in private and then "publish" it in chunks here publicly once we are comfortable. (Think how Hulu used to wait 8 days after an episode aired on Network Television to make it available to stream on their site.)

..............And more to come! As, I am brushing the dust off my old hordes.

Would a fantasy RP which involved society construction be okay? MxF only, if that's fine with you. I am over 18, by the way.

I am open to ideas myself, but here's an idea which I have so far. I'd be happy to incorporate ideas from the ideas you have pitched in # 1-4 which you have posted above.

The orcish realm of Marzala is built on the strength of its armies. Constantly at war with the surrounding human kingdoms, Marzala has only survived through constant military preparedness. It's capital, Blackspire, is as a much a fortress as a city. The orcs themselves still live in regions which are ruled by counts and dukes, but these titles and their associated regions are simply the old areas once ruled by migratory tribes. A few generations ago, a great orcish chief united the tribes and built a large camp at the base of Mount Blackspire. Since then, the titles of "chief" and "chieftain" have given way to human-sounding ranks adopted from the surrounding realms.

In this war-torn era, the military of Marzala has gained social primacy. While orcs were always warlike, this was usually limited to raids and campaigns for part of a year, not a full-time standing army. Soldiers and officers have gained power at the expense of the rest of society, including civilians and females, the latter of which are only rarely allowed to fight (only if they have magic, a path open to males and females alike). Part of this is due to adherence to old-fashioned tradition, but part of it is due to the danger of losing the ability to replace losses in battle. Male orcs can take on as many wives as they can attract and support, usually both can be accomplished by bringing back plunder from war and developing a reputation for prowess in battle.

While a large part of the male population was off at war, the females were left behind to run the homesteads, look after the children, and even take part in a few traditionally-male roles such as hunting. Social expectations between the sexes have led to differences in lifestyles; female orcs generally dress more like their old counterparts, usually lacking footwear and never using armor. Male orcs are encouraged to dress in heavier and more elaborate garments as a way of showing off their wealth, and they use the heaviest armor possible in battle. The relatively equal status males and females once had was long lost; males are expected to fight, females to breed. While most males are okay with it, many females chafe at the restrictions, though they rarely speak of it in public.

Then, one of the most destabilizing things possible to Marzala happened: peace broke out. An entire generation of male orcs was left with little to do, with little chance for glory and even less of proving themselves to attract a mate. Apart from a few petty border skirmishes, there is no more warfare; the human kingdoms have formed an alliance so powerful that Marzala's king will not dare defy it. To give his warriors an outlet, the king has constructed a mighty arena in Blackspire, a place where only the strong will survive and a lucky few will find the glory and fortune they seek. Most of these fights are with weapons and end in the death of one or both combatants, but a few contests are nonlethal fistfights, usually to satisfy those orcs who wish to compete for lesser prizes without running the risk of dying for them. A rare treat for the crowd these days is a fight between an orchish gladiator and a captured human caught on patrol or in a border skirmish.

Recently, one of the King's daughters has entered the fray as a fighter, going up against opponents in the nonlethal bouts. At the same time, a human soldier has been captured, the sole survivor of his patrol. He is destined for the arena, although he has no intention of dying there. At the same time, the orc princess is tired of the same old fights, bouts she wins about half the time. The two characters find themselves on a collision course, a deadly adventure where anything can happen.

And even if nothing comes of this idea here, I might be able to reuse it (or elements of it) for another RP with someone else. Maybe the human could come from the land of Eleon?

I apologize, I have little time to respond but wanted to none the less. Eleon would work well in this environment, or maybe a mixture of #1 and #3. Locke to be the monarch, with Gad as the human participant in the arena. I'm fully prepared for this to be a multi-chara Nation RPG. I have ideas how to intermix #'s 1 and 3 to be cohesive with your own. Gad would also take the the title as "Runner" stated in the middle paragraph of #3. I'd have to take a day or so to rewrite the two ideas into one. But, as you say, if this doesn't work it still has potential to lead to something else.

I'd love to hear your ideas for any of the four listed in my first post. I'm dying for new things to write.

Sounds good. If you don't mind, I have a few things to ask to make sure we are on the same page here:

Did you want Eleon to be the main setting, or as a realm from which one or more of the players come from?

I can play Gad if you want, but did you want to play an orc female or someone else? Should there be orcs at all?

Do you have more details on the runner, if you want me to play Gad as a runner?

Did you have anything else you wanted to ask me?

As for my ideas relating to your four, I have some.

- Eleon's mind-control worms could be the result of a magical experiment gone wrong, possibly as the result of attempts at making a weapon of some sort.

- Not much to say about the second one, with Aaron. It is fairly basic next to the others, but maybe he could be worked in somehow as a side character, or someone looking to find meaning in his life again after losing his family.

- The celibate head of family thing would be considered incomprehensible to the orcs (should we use them in the form I described), as would anything other than a family involving a male and at least one female. Yes, the orcs (as I described them) are polygamous to a degree, but only the higher-status males have the ability to support such a large family which would come with two or move wives. I would NOT play a gay or bisexual character, though. It's just not something I find appealing at all. Gad and a woman named Lois might work. Is anyone actually named Lois? Lois Lane? Any name for a woman would be fine. As for the runner part, we'd have to explain how he would have been captured for an arena match.

- As for the modern one, I'm not sure how well it would fit. We could work in a drunkard or something. Still, the attitude of that woman might fit for the orc "princess" who chafes at social expectations for orc females. She probably works much of that aggression out in the arena.

How's that so far?

Yes, I have been intrigued. (irl, I nerve cut my thumb, which has made typing an...ordeal. So, hence all my activity has slowed significantly.)

I believe it best to iron out the over arching details:

1. Is this a Nation-ish play? Hence, I control The Monarch and Gad, as they come from the same land, and you would control the Orcs and perhaps the female gladiator? A much broader story line where perhaps we start with Gad and the female gladiator, and then extend to the other aforementioned political characters.

2. If not a Nation Play, then I'd suggest we stick to our created worlds. So, myself playing either Gad or the Monarch, and your self playing the Female Gladiator or another of your favorite Orcs. We could easily start this one in the Arena.

a. I could also attempt to be the female gladiator. I don't quite know as much about the Orcs as yourself, but I am always willing to incorporate as much as I am capable. I've the basic understanding of the Orcs as you've presented and I believe I would have fun with the information given.

TCB: Got more coming, just have to change irl locaton.

Whoa. Sorry to hear that. Please, don't rush yourself if you're injured. (I can add more to this post or make another once you add more.)

As for this, I didn't think of it as Nation-ish. It takes place in a nation, but it isn't on the nation level. It would involve the actions of a (relatively) few individuals, not whole armies. If military commanders are involved, it wouldn't be in a war. This is a time of peace after all. Although I suppose this RP has a few elements of arena, nation, and the normal 1x1 in it. Ultimately, it would be about characters fitting into the setting, not a large-scale story or one totally centered around combat. So, yes, our created worlds (or a version of them) would be good.

I suppose I could play the female gladiator, although I'm not a woman myself. While I have RP'd females before, I mostly RP males. Everything I have about these orcs so far has already been written down in this thread, so you know as much as I do in this case. They don't follow Tolkien or other media which features Orcs (like the Elder Scrolls or Warcraft.) I would probably do fine either way, so you can decide who plays who of those two.
