@Virgil Haha. I've seen modern composite recurves of the high-poundage-variety, but longbows have a much better poundage range. A hundred pounder would definitely not be a lot in the middle ages, and speaking from personal experience, with the types of arrows necessary for them (insane amount of fletching, INSANELY heavy bodkin points, and tapered for better flight) you could definitely make a human explode given the right angle/distance. I know there's actually a modern English longbowman who shoots 185 or something insane like that, out in the UK. My best friend actually shoots a 110lb longbow, and it's incredibly taxing on the muscles. He can only pull about 3 arrows an end. There's basically no aiming (at least, no incredible precision, especially with moving targets) with longbows of that poundage because they will literally explode/shatter if they're kept open longer than ten or so seconds - the wood doesn't want to move. I personally shoot a 50 lb barebow (though I'd love to move up and shoot a 75lb longbow), and it's pretty excellent in terms of precision and not exploding.

Anyways, I actually misread the OP and in my head mixed up the ragtaggedness of Anthem with the opposing forces. As such, I thought that a 65 lb longbow would suffice in penetrating what little plate (great to dent with arrows! Good for concussions) and more specifically, leather armor, any opposing forces had. So thanks for pointing that out! I think that 85-90 lbs would be more appropriate, while still being realistic as to what a female elf could reasonably pull. Anything over 95 lbs would really being pushing it, I think.

Thanks for the bow-talk! I love meeting people who like weaponry.

@Iuniper Samurai didn't pull any insane weight, they just aimed for the eyes...if you wanted to go that route. But sticking someone to the wall with an arrow is pretty wicked.

Whoa, that sounds pretty wicked (and painful). I don't know much about Japanese archery, so I'll have to read up on it.

Alright folks time for a lighting round of questions!

First. I'll make comments on all the submitted CSs as I get a chance to read through them. That being said nobody is actually going to get approved until what looks like Friday. This is going to give you guys time to make them look super pretty and address any issues I may bring up. That and I'm going need some time time to work on and finish my own sheet / IC post since this is turning out to be a stupid crazy work week for me.

@Iuniper
Short Answer is because of lack of manpower everyone and thing has to pull double or sometimes triple duty. One day you might be riding in the saddle, the next you might be part of a sapper team though they try and throw you in roles that you show some aptitude in. If you want to get an actual break down of the total logistics of man power, amounts of dedicated archers, swords, spears and the like I can do that It'll just be a little bit.

Sorcerers are a little bit different as typically the serve as more mobile siege weapons. They stay in groups to focus their fire over a larger area and produce bigger explosions in a long ranged support capacity . Occasional though when time calls for it individuals can be sent with smaller groups of soldiers when their support is needed typically to counter other sorcerers causes the best counter to a dude flinging creepy blood magic at you is for another dude to fling better creepy blood magic at them.

@boomlover
If you make a CS and I like it don't see why not! And also in regards to PM don't worry about, it I'll help you work it out if trouble arrives.

Andrea Albane: One of the many decked in layers of metal. Gave off a sort of holier-than-thou art attitude, which was somewhat hilarious given that he was a member of the Legion, not some templar fighting for one of the jeweled cities. Aeudla hardly knew anything of him, as there was nothing distinctly noticeable about him other than that he seemed to be everywhere, though this could as easily be something else. Because, again, forgettable. Perhaps he had showed his face in camp, before. Who knew.

>he

Did I mess up in the CS and call Andrea a guy?

@Athinar Maybe Aeudla just assumes Andrea is a man as she has never seen her without her armor?

Tancuras is correct. There's probably a mental disconnect between "STRONK WARRIOR on the field" figure and the "could actually be a supermodel" figure off of it. Aeudla has some 'judgement issues' as well.

Have to say I really like the 'opinions on others' mechanic. This has been fun for days even though it hasn't even started yet. I love this group.

It's an old piece I picked up from a friend. Realy helps with the whole learning and caring about the other chaps.

In other news so I've read through the lot of the applications, I apologize for the slow going on my part. In interest of time I'm going to keep the reviews short.

Honestly y'all have made me a very happy person. Y'all managed to bring something unique to the table using the limited information provided. You also seem to care and honestly caring is the most important part of the equation. I could be a jackass and nitpick things but I'm too tired. That being said if you want a full review done for your guy or gal just hit me up, I'm always game for some work-shopping. So in short everybody so far is accepted! Move CSs to CS page at your leisure.

IC post is done. But I still have to edit it and actually finish my own character sheet. I'll take the advice of Hemingway here with "Write drunk, edit sober." So expect them both by preferably Sunday morning but probably earlier.

'Opinions of Others' are done. Let me know if you folks have any questions, comments or concerns.

EDIT: Also, if anyone wants to talk about particular encounters your character has had with Mags in the past then feel free to drop me a PM.

Hello there! I'd like to state my interest in joining up to this league of evil! Looks like a crazy amount of work went into the lore and the premise sounds sick! I've still got some catch up reading to do but I've skimmed over some of the character sheets so I just thought I'd ask if there are any party roles in need of filling or any that are redundant by now? Like it looks like there are a good few warriors already so I was thinking of trying a mage character or maybe a noncombatant type like a bard/diplomat for the empire.
