Cori Woods | 29 | Female

Apperance: Due to her albinism, Cori is almost always given a second glance. Her extremely fair complexion and white hair is stunning to say the least. Vanilla, she may look sickly to those who don't understand why she looks the way she does, but she is very conscientious of her appearance: her makeup adds a healthy color to her face and darkness to her lips and eyelashes. Her haunting red eyes are almost always hidden behind stereotypical Men in Black sunglasses, partly to protect them against the sun, but also because she's self conscious about the strange color. She stands tall for a woman at 5'8", and she has a lean, boyish figure. Underneath the clothing, her body is hard with muscle. As for the clothes themselves, Cori wears enough to conceal a weapon even in civilian life. At work, she wears suits.

Religion: Raised Catholic, doesn't practice

Sexuality: Heterosexual

Occupation: CIA Field Agent, working her way to Senior Agent

Abilities:
Incredible marksmanship.
If it weren't for her goals, she may have taken a more combative approach to her career, but she can already out shoot a majority of her coworkers.
Hand-to-hand combat.
While Cori isn't outstanding in this area compared to other agents, it's a necessary skill within the field. Influence from martial arts is seen in her combative style, but the physical training has benefited her moreso in stamina and endurance rather than strength.
Leadership skills.
Professionally, Cori will not hesitate to be critical of another person or suggest what they should or should not do. She is well spoken and blunt when angered. She is not the most charismatic leader, but she is practical and straight forward and is comfortable telling others what to do.
Bilingual.
English is her first language, French her second out of choice. In her time in the CIA, she has also learned Russian and Mandarin, and she's working on Arabic.
Amateur automechanic.
Cori had always been a bit of a tomboy, and one her leisure hobbies include cars: fixing them, driving them, and buying them. As a result, she has the skills to take care of of them and keep up on maintenance herself.

Faults:
Albinism.
affects her eyesight and therefore her marksmanship. She is required by her job to have an eye examination every six months and earlier if she suspects she'll need a change in prescription. She, of course, wears contacts (or glasses on those rare days she's lounging about the house).
Youth.
Cori may be approaching 30, but she has taken on a position that could've been handed onto an agent with more years and experience. However, her adoptive father works a little higher up in the hierarchy, and she has demonstrated her ambition in properly serving her country. She'll work with something to prove.
Tobacco.
A nasty habit, but Cori does smoke. She smokes 2-3 cigarettes a day, but has been trying to cut back, if not quit.
Unlikable.
Cori is not very charismatic. She's stubborn and can be relentless petty when she feels personally attacked. On a personal, one-on-one level she is difficult to get along with, and she strives in professional environments over personal life.

Power: N/A

Personality: Cori's personality is straight forward and one can take a guess just observing her gait: she walks tall and proud, a frown on her lips. As one might judge, she's confident--often arrogant--and lacks a sense of humor. It may be because of her gender and young age in this particular career, but she is conscious about how she presents herself and takes the job seriously. She is rarely caught relaxing or slacking off, and she wants her immediate environment in her control. Despite all this, she is caring to people. She's generous, and can be surprisingly warm at times. There is also underlying insecurity, of course, but she is strong and pushes such thoughts aside in order to reach her goals. Doing excellent in all aspects of life gives her self worth. Beyond her core personality, her interests include cars, guns, and classic country music.

History: Cori Woods comes not from humble beginnings, but from humbled beginnings. She was born into riches, her mother a retired model and her father the CEO of one of the most prestigious interior design companies. So when they died in a tragic accident, the adoption process for Cori was stressful and long: child services and lawyers were eager to place her in a home where she would be cared for, rather than used for the inheritance that would include millions of dollars and rights to the company. After two years of drifting between foster homes while agents worked to find a permanent solution for the young Cori, she was adopted by a loving couple at age ten, one a rising star within the CIA.

Cori grew with dignity and grace, maybe groomed for it by the parents she lost. Though when she reached eighteen, she rejected ownership of the company. Instead, she chose to follow in her adopted father's footsteps and took to law. She started on the police force as she worked through college and eventually the CIA's training program. Like everything else in life, she excelled, and was usually the first of her peers approached when an upper level position needed filled. Rising so high at such a young age, of course, earned disdain from some co-workers (who would become her employees), but she strove to be great anyway.

Enter: the accident. The blackout, the electrical storms...And suddenly, citizens of the world with superpowers were appearing, like something out of those over-hyped superhero movies Cori had zero interest in she'd insist with a nervous laugh... One of the first within the CIA to act two weeks ago, she insisted on learning all that she could about the strange new humanoids. However, all she could find at first was that they were dangerous, and--for her--it meant detaining them to protect innocent civilians. Employees under her would be working to research suitable technology and techniques to handle these super humans and she personally delved into research about where, how, and why they even appeared.

Her research and agents lead her to straight to what she needed: information on an unknown (to her) organization called Coalition. Intrigued, she went about creating a small task force that could retrieve information on them. Unfortunately, it may have been her eagerness to get the bottom of this situation had costed her men their lives. She had been too careless and she had hired a Coalition agent who took the intelligence, as well. Desperate to get it back--without putting more innocent lives at risk--she sought help outside the CIA. Through a web of contacts, Kieran was hired, and Cori will only be meeting him in person for the first time to collect the information.

Naya Tonnerre | 28 |

APPEARANCE
Tall, dark, and handsome, Naya is tall for a woman at 5'11". Her figure is deceptively slender because under her clothes are toned, hard muscles. IShe has brown skin and dark brown hair; her eyes are deep brown, matching her hair, and almond in shape. She has a small nose and full lips. In addition, she has multiple tattoos: most notable include the simplistic black compass on her wrist, the flowery sleeve on her opposing forearm, the rose on her front hip, a gloomy forest scene sitting at her ankle and covering her calf, and a morbid skull and smoke on her thigh. However, Naya tends to wear clothes that covers her up: boots and pants accompanied by a dark shirt and leather jacket gives her confident gait even more edge.

PERSONALITY
Naya can be intimidating upon first impression, and her confident silence doesn't help--she's a woman of few words because she believes only actions matter. She's difficult to get a rise out of, as well, and people with less patience might mistake it for simply tolerating abuse or annoyances. However, pushed far enough, Naya can be explosively cruel--verbally and violently. Of course, beneath the steel that makes her a slayer is the softness that encouraged her to start training in the first place: she's concerned with the well being of people and is particularly defensive of other women. Past all of this, she is observant and perceptive and rarely hesitates when action is needed. All these qualities make her a good leader, as well.

BIO
Naya was born in France, in a small town sitting on a countryside. Her parents owned one of the only autorepair garages for miles, so they held monopoly over the locals and the occasional broken down tourist. As a result, Naya learned to operate and fix cars, scooters, and motorcycles before even having a chance to earn her permit. To enrich her feminine side, her parents also had her take violin lessons, but it never quite stuck--especially after being dragged from her home as a young teenager.

Rumors had surfaced that young girls were disappearing and news like that definitely shook up a small town. Strangers were regarded with even more suspicion and strict curfews were put into place. Kids will be kids, though, and the kidnappings didn't cease--bodies weren't found. Naya wasn't allowed to travel the roads without her older sister. But that didn't protect them: the siblings were returning from a shopping errand when they were attacked--by a vampire.

The attack had happened suddenly and ended abruptly. She vaguely recalls her sister suddenly using some sort of magic before the blood splattered against the dirt road. Then the vampire was upon her and Naya pushed away from his grasp as hard and fast she could--and his head was knocked from his shoulders. As she trudged home, it didn't quite occur to her that her sister's body would be the first to be found. Nor did she realize hers would be the last to be missing. Naya was kidnapped on that walk home by a slayer.

Naya was angry and emotional even months into her training: she had learned that there were people out there with special powers who were destined to hunt the monsters that had killed her sister and nearly her. She wasn't allowed to contact her parents nor old friends. In her mind, she was trapped among the slayers and forced to train. She drove much of her anger and sadness into her work and--in combat--she came out on top compared to her peers and it created friction between them. However, she eventually made another friend, who is currently her girlfriend and partner in the field: Shani Hollyer.

Naya, as a slayer, has grown to be deadly. Shani and her make one of the best of the current generation, though she prefers to remain relatively unknown. The two have been given the Bianchi-Smiths as an assignment.

POWER
Naya's agility and senses are as good as they get for a human: her hearing is sensitive, her eyes can see in the dark, and blood is a smell she can easily identify. On the down side, humans aren't really meant for this sort of power, and she is prone to anxiety due to overstimulation, making her very introverted. She's in peak human condition, save for her strength--it's beyond human capabilities and she can rival vampires in physical strength. Her skin needs to be strong enough to contain the strength, as well, so it is hard to pierce with a blade or scalpel or..fangs.

OTHER
- Due to her power, she makes an excellent agent in places where citizens aren't allowed to carry firearms--most of Europe, for example. But here in America, where she's allowed to have a gun, she finds herself to be a little rusty in shooting.
- Shani Hollyer is her girlfriend
- She likes roses and tattoos
- She's left handed and gay
- She's a handywoman, able to fix up cars and bikes easily.
- Her favorite drink is tea and she has a sweet tooth she's embarrassed about

Klaus | 2k | Male

Appearance:
Klaus is tall and lean at 6', was turned in his late twenties, and almost looks like a man out of a perfume commercial: his high cheekbones, long eyelashes, and defined jawline makes him a perfect predator. He prefers to wear clothes that are in style, common, and fashionable to blend in with human society. His dark brown hair is usually lazily slicked back and accompanied by a thin, trimmed layer of hair along his jawline, chin, and upper lip. Unless you're waking up beside him, it's rare to see his shaggy mane disheveled and facial hair untrimmed. He has a pale and narrow face, complimented by a long and defined nose. His eyes are a dark brown, as well, though they occasionally seem to be almost red. When the vampire talks or laughs, it's not difficult to get a glimpse of his pointed fangs.

Personality:
Klaus comes off as very laid back and easy going, maybe even a little smug, but formal. He can be very charismatic and flirtatious, as well (his flirting can be rather goofy, making an especially friendly first impression). That said, he has a darker and more serious that comes out when he feels vulnerable or angry. Underneath the immediate exterior, he can be rather sadistic and cruel. If he catches you alone and doesn’t think any repercussions will come of it, he’ll be rather antagonizing. He believes he hasn't lived so long by being nice and he has done plenty of bad things. However, Klaus has many layers: at his core he's surprisingly romantic and idealistic. He appreciates faithfulness and is even loyal to his breed in general despite his general dislike of other vampires. He finds it difficult to trust others, but can and will open up about himself and his history if you earn his trust.

Bio:
Born in Athens, Greece just before Rome conquered the territory, Klaus was taken as a child slave. Orphaned, there wasn't many other options for him. His life as a slave was relatively decent, and he grew loyal and friendly to the boy who would grow to be his master. The bond between them was more comparable to friendship than it was slave and master, though the power dynamic became more and more obvious with age. Still, Klaus remained loyal if subdued. Besides, despite growing tall and big compared to others during the time period, he was given the cushy slave life: most of his chores involved cooking. He was even allowed to take a job to work to buy his freedom if he chose, but he was complacent.

When the master grew old enough to marry, however, Klaus became enamored with the wife. She was full of life and strength and she was never afraid to remind you of it. Still, he kept his distance—he knew better: not only was he a slave and she a free woman, she was married to his master and friend. Despite this, the woman seemed drawn to Klaus, as well. Like many Romans, she was fascinated with Greek culture and the Greeks themselves, and he was far quieter and much more thoughtful than her husband. At first he would shy away from her advances, but he eventually warmed up to her and the two seemed to be in love. An affair continued behind the master’s back.

One night, the master walked in on the lovers. Rather than take responsibility for the affair, the woman insisted that Klaus had forced himself upon her and he had little choice but to flee. The master was persistent, however, and was on his heels with city guards as the slave ran away. It wasn’t long before he was cornered, though he didn’t have a chance to defend himself—the men and master were slain by a single figure. Klaus thought he was safe until the killer turned on him. Unlike the other men, though, he awoke from death as a vampire.

Despite saving his life, his sire was less than kind: Klaus was treated as a source of blood for his sire and was sexually abused. This kept him weak, and he was unable to venture out on his own for a long time. It was only when he was allowed to leave that he did, about twenty five years since his rebirth. By this point in his life, Klaus had come to detest slavery for obvious reasons. The circumstances of his turning has made him relatively weak for a vampire; vampires his age--and even younger--have been able to best him since and he is still very aware of his weakness.

Klaus continued through life on his own. He dodged other vampires out of fear and he definitely did his best to avoid getting tangled up with slayers. Though one day, he met Stelios, another vampire--oddly enough also of Greek origin. The two hit it off and were lovers for well over a century, Klaus able to comfortably rely on another for the first time in a long time. However, Klaus was mostly unaware of his status as Stelios' rebound and they didn't last. Getting over the break up (but left a little more confident in himself), Klaus traveled the world himself: the Byzantine Empire, northern and western Europe, parts of Asia and Africa (though he learned that Africa is a VERY sunny place and this was a short journey).

He eventually turned his interest on the New World. In America, he met Mira: she was a human woman nearing death. She had lived a full life, but she was greedy and wanted more. Out of pity and probably loneliness, he turned her. The two have only been platonic, forming a father-daughter or brother-sister relationship but have been travelling together ever since. And more recently, Klaus met and fell in love with a woman named Natalie Holmes. He turned her; however, she hated being a vampire so much that she killed herself. And so his story continues.

Power:
None, actually, and a fact he keeps to himself. Despite being such an old vampire, Klaus is relatively weak due to the life he had after being turned. Even his enhanced speed, strength, and senses are dull compared to Olivia's.

Other:
- Klaus has turned only two others into vampires throughout his long life.
- He's bisexual and ambidextrous.
- He poses among humans as a traveling artist.
- He enjoys art, piano, billards/pool, language, and travel

Nicknames
Dags, Dag, Daggy
Gender
Female
Age
About 100, and appears to be in her late teens
Year
4th
Birthday
April 11
Astrological Sign
Aries

Species
Dragon: dragons of Earth are as rare as other magical species, but far stronger. They take it upon themselves to defend other beings from hunters and humans who would exploit them. Overtime, they have "evolved" to take human shape, allowing them to blend in with society as necessary. They're strong and durable creatures, and (on earth) only another dragon's fangs or claws can penetrate their scales. However, the magic on Lucis is far more advanced, so there might be some weaknesses found there. They tend to live to be ten times as old as humans, so the early hundreds tend to be considered young.

Class
Fighter / Tank

Weapon
Claws, typically. Fire. Teeth. She herself is a weapon, basically.

World
Earth

Biography
Dagny was one of five hatched to a family of dragons in Sweden and probably the slowest to mature in every sense of the word. Granted, she was also the most willing to learn and optimistic about the world. The mystic community was small and she was essentially home schooled, however, and this was frustrating for the curious little dragon who wanted to explore all corners of the world. Time went by and she remained mostly isolated from the big, big world of humans. Eventually, her thirst for knowledge faded away into apathy and she grew shy in her questions and interest in the world.

Much of her personality and spunk was revived when she finally left Sweden to explore the world. Easy enough for a beast with wings sized to rival a plane. It was during this time that she really learned about the world--both the magic and technology driven--around her. She learned that creatures like her--creatures born of magic--were such a minority on Earth and they needed to be protected. Very few could contend with modern technology, but dragons like herself remained strong competitors against the evolution of human technology. Her run-ins with humans left a lot to be desired, however, and she found herself mistrusting their greed and power lust.

Then, the Black Gale appeared.

An incredible moment for both worlds, for sure, but Dagny and other dragons were hesitant to have anything to do with the phenomenon. But, time went on and the Black Gate proved dangerous not only for humans, but for other mystical creatures as well. And the second world, Lucis, proved to be swelling with magic, which spawned interest for the mystic beings of earth. Already identified as a guardian of sorts for the magical community, Dagny's personal interest grew in the Black Gate and the academies dedicated to maintaining it.

Needless to say, when she received the letter four years ago, she decided to take the school up on its offer.

Personality
Dagny's motivated and ambitious, and doesn't really do anything half-assed. Like, if you're walking, she's POWER WALKING. If you're eating dinner, she's DEVOURING DINNER. While this can make her come of as intimidating or intense, she's generally in a good, loud mood. She used to get embarrassed and quiet down, but now she's rather confrontational when she gets odd looks or whispers--though she doesn't usually mean harm.

Partner
To be decided

Fear(s)/Weakness(es)/Limit(s)
Dragons are far sighted so up close, they can't see as well. Because of her natural size and weight, Dagny is physically slower than most fighters. While it's nearly impossible to penetrate or bruise her skin, any damage to her mouth or eyes will hurt like a bitch. Magic can do harm to her, too. She's not as strong as a full fledged dragon either.

Skills/Abilities/Traits
Fire breathing, super strength, and super tanky. Her true form is compacted into her human body, making her ridiculously dense and massive despite her being average size for a person. This weight makes her extremely hard to knock of her feet. On that note, she can turn into a dragon (or rather she can turn into a human because her default form is a dragon) and change her features to match that of one (for example, growing her nails into dragon claws or scales over her skin).

Theme Song
Remember the Name by Fort Minor

Other
She tends to speak English, but her Swedish accent gets thicker the more emotional or passionate she is. She's also gay, preferring women to men ten times out of ten. Joseph Conrad is a little bitch, pass it on.

Name: Vivian Vanbrooke
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Villain Name: The Reaper, known notoriously for killing super heroes)

Appearance: Her round face and narrow golden brown eyes are typical of people of Eastern descent, and her dark hair falls straight, stopping just short of her chin. What little strength she has is in her toned legs--she lived a life on the run, after all. Her clothing of choice is mostly neutral colors: browns, blacks, and greys, not that she has A LOT of choice in the post apocalyptic world. However, the intimidation she was going for is easily lost to her size: she stands no taller than 5'3" and weighs in at only about 105 lbs. Other notable characteristics are the many earrings, piercings on the side of her nose and belly button, and the dragon tattoo that starts on her upper arm and extends to her back.

Costume Description: When it was worth wearing a costume, she wore a gas mask to hide her face and a tailed, dark coat over black. She also wore platform boots to make herself look taller than she really is. Her weapon of choice was a scythe--emphasizing her mission and message against heroes. She would rarely speak under this alias and she did, she kept it short due to her accent and gender being a potential give away to her real identity. But she has hung up her weapon and armor in this zombie infected world. No one would like her much if they knew she used slice people, and as plain old Vivian Vanbrooke, she can depend on people to take care of her in areas she's not as strong.

Power: The Reaper was known for their annoying teleportation abilities. In a poof of black smoke, they would be here and then there or there. Their best kept secret is that it was limited by her vision; if they couldn't sense her destination, they couldn't teleport there and blinding them would prevent teleportation completely. Vivian, however, does not wish to reveal her power to anyone.

Unique Traits:
  • Weapon handling: most notably long arm weapons. Give her a makeshift spear or any sort of pole arm and she can fend for herself a little too well.
  • Charisma: So she's a little out of it right now. But if you need someone buttered up and give Vivian enough reason to do it, she will after taking a moment to relax.

Personality: V has always comes off as pretty laid back. She can be charming enough when she wants to be, but typically isn't. She can be pretty arrogant as well--not only does she think she's better than pretty much everyone else, she believes she's smarter than them, too. And while she can be cunning, she can easily underestimate others. Her strengths lie in her street smarts, charisma, and independence. On the other hand, working with others is a chore. She's also attracted to danger and the unknown--it interests her.

Post Outbreak, she's having a little more trouble being chill. She's on edge, paranoid, and tends to go for sarcasm before charm these days. She of course still believes herself to be God's gift to mankind and will put herself before others. And she still hasn't really learned to work with others, but she has no problem sitting by and letting them do work for her. Everything considered, it's probably easy to get a "bad vibe" from Vivian, but she's careful not to adhere to social expectations and not step too far over the line.

Mental State: Less than intact. The stress of having to deal with what's left of society without taking on her The Reaper persona is difficult for her. She's almost always worried about what would happen if her identity was discovered, but she simultaneously doesn't believe anyone in backwoods country Kansas to be smart enough to figure it out.

Pre Outbreak: Vivian was born across the Atlantic to a pair of dentists in southern England. All her youth, she was pushed toward education and tradition when all she wanted was to explore and experience the world. Instead of continuing to higher education, she skipped out and followed her at-the-time boyfriend's band to America. However, the band broke up, then they broke up, and Vivian was alone in a foreign country. For a few years, she bounced between jobs trying to make a living.

When her powers developed, all that changed: she took what she wanted and no longer worried about where her next paycheck or meal was coming from. Super Heroes however, didn't quite like that. So she donned a secret identity and would continue her antics to lure heroes out...only to kill them. When that became too dangerous, she stopped playing bait and would simply sneak an attack on a hero when they let their guard down--usually right after they "saved the day" or some shit like that.

Her influence had grown so much that she only needed to show up to a bank or store and she was left alone to take what she wished. Life was great.

Post Outbreak: Then zombies came out of left field to mess up the perfectly good thing she had going. Of course, if it wasn't the outbreak, a brave and powerful hero may have finally stopped Vivian, but she's pretty convinced only something like this could bring an end to her reign.

When the outbreak began, she knew it wouldn't be good for anyone but she kept to herself, watching from the sidelines. However, when heroes started turning and passing their powers on, she knew she had to get involved. It was kinda her specialty, after all. So, reluctantly, The Reaper joined the battle against zombies--earning a temporary truce from heroes that remained--but there was only so much they could do.

When the war was loss, The Reaper disappeared again. And Vivian began her travels in post-apocalyptic America. She moved toward Kansas City from New York by jumping between settlements, usually avoiding ones with heroes, and mooching off the community to survive. However, at the first sign of bad, she would continue west again. When she came across people who thought they were better on their own, she would kill them without a second thought and take supplies that needed.

Her pattern continued and now here she is, in Kansas City, with this settlement.

Fang

Physical: Fang is a tall, muscularly lean woman. She has rough hands and wears foot wraps instead of shoes. Her lightly colored robes are maintained out of devotion to her goddess. Even still, the dark tattoos that wrap up and down her muscles are the most awestriking. Each one is intricately designed and it no doubt took years to acquire them all. Her head is shaved as a show of devotion to Shangri-La, and she has light olive skin. Despite her tough appearance, though, she has gentle brown eyes and a friendly face.

Abilities:
• Summoning magic. Fang's body is covered by a variety of tattoos, a host to depictions of animals and even weapons. The amount of energy she puts forth can affect how many summons she can control and how big they are. The animals found across her body include two snakes, a tiger, a bear, a turtle, and a phoenix. The weapons, usually incorporated in the intricate animal designs, include a staff, two swords, a bladed polearm, and knives. When being used, the summon's tattoo disappears. It takes energy to maintain the summons' physical forms for extended periods of time, but she can also dismiss them as she pleases. However, the tattoos won't immediately reappear once dismissed from the physical plane; over the course of a day, they will appear faded and then dark again once ready for use.

• Martial arts. Not only is Fang a fearsome master of her tattoos, she is trained in a style of fighting developed by followers of Shangri-La. The focus of this technique is to strike from afar and bring an opponent down in closer quarters. It's a style of fighting made to use an opponent's own force against them.

• Magic & soul sense. Through meditation and practice, Fang is able not only to sense the presence of magic or souls, but to also loosely read people and their intentions. It's, of course, fallible as the human and humanoid experience is vast.

Starting Gear: Save for the clothes on her back and a flat blade for maintaining a shaved head, Fang has no material possessions and seems to have no interest in keeping any.

Personality/Goals: Fang wishes to serve Shangri-La in maintaining a humble life and serving the greater good. A minority among her monastery, she was trained as a warrior, and is allowed to bend the otherwise strict rules of nonviolence. Even so, she maintains a demeanor of relaxation and is slow to anger. Beyond the years of training under her religion, Fang is kind. She has a surprisingly broad sense of humor, though likely developed later in life due to a sheltered upbringing in the monastery. Her journey alone is meant to push the boundaries of her devotion, however.

Backstory: Like most of the monks she grew up with, Fang was orphaned as a baby and left at the temple. She was trained among young boys and girls in the way of Shangri-La, a goddess figure. Unlike most of her peers, however, Fang displayed a rare affinity for magic. As a direct result, her training was altered and she was raised into the rare warrior role of her religion. She is a recent graduate of the student title, and is now traveling the world to reach a higher form of enlightenment and acquire the title of master.

Other Stuff:
• Followers of Shangri-La are known for their intricate tattoos and peaceful, charitable ways of life. Traveling monks receive mixed reactions, though: some are charitable and hospitable to monks, others see them as bums. They have a large following, but due to religious purges and wars, their numbers have been decreasing. Warriors like Fang are a minority and relatively new development as a defense against the violent world. Older monks in the religion may not agree with this development.

Cassandra Lanik | 21 | Northern

Appearance: Cassandra stands at average height for a young woman and has lean figure. She walks tall with her shoulders back and chin up, but her gaze tends to wander away when speaking to others. She has a long face dotted with small freckles and thin lips. Her eyes are a dull blue in color, but round and alert. Thick eyebrows sit above her gaze and their dark brown color matches her long hair. She's overall rather plain in appearance and rarely smiles. As for clothes, she likes to dress plainly but practically. Skirts and dresses are fine, but it's not uncommon to catch her in trousers as well.

Personality: Despite her seemingly rebellious nature, Cassandra puts the needs of the village before her own. While quiet, she's not afraid of conflict. No one would describe her as friendly or warm due to this, but when she isn't confrontational, she's polite and respectful. She's ambitious but humble in her work and has grown to be mostly independent within the village, but of course trusts and depends on the society around her. Cassandra is observant and patient in dealing with others and--on the flip side--her reserved nature can make her difficult to read.

Skills:
- Tracking. Cassandra can follow an animal's trail well and has a light foot that allows her to get close as well.
- Archery. She had always been interested in it. Her mother was more encouraging than her father, but she was never strictly discouraged and has grown to be a fine shot. She is best with longbows.
- Bow & arrow crafting. She is good, but she is not the best. She is learning under a master in the village.
- Trap making. A more recent and less developed skill. Shooting a bow is fine and good, but she's grown to appreciate simpler ways to catch food.

Fears:
- The "other." Attributed partly to the way she was raised in a secluded village, Cassandra is weary of strangers.
- Marriage. She would like to marry, of course, but the prospect of actually being married scares her and she tends to be closed off to romance because of it.

Likes:
- Archery & Hunting, of course.
- Warm, sunny weather.
- Her family and the village

Equipment:
- A couple bows & arrows.
- Knives, some for bow and arrow making and some for hunting.
- Rocks. She prefers to trade for arrowheads from the blacksmith, but she's not against making her own if she finds the right sort of material.

Biography: Her parents are prominent within the village: her father is the most innovative in advancing the quality of farming, but it is a slow process and one her siblings will likely take over because she lacks interest. Cassandra finds it more practical to rely on hunting and gathering and has grown with the technology suitable for it emerging to practice it. Ever since she could hold a bow, she has been practicing with it and it shows. As she grew, her mother had been encouraging and her father tolerant of it.

As a young teenager, she began an apprenticeship under the bowmaker. It was difficult for her at first and she learned slowly, but it furthered her knowledge about archery and hunting. Now that she's an adult, she still lives with her parents but is growing independent through her craft and trading the food she catches.

Mirabelle Kingston | 19 | Half-Elf

MAGIC
Transformation. Mira is loosely capable of shapeshifting parts of her body: her nails into claws, for example.

PERSONALITY
Mira comes off as rather quiet and serious. Once you get to know her...that doesn't really change. However, she is a woman of action rather than words. She prefers to express her loyalty or friendship physically or through material goods. As a result, she can be rather generous if she warms up to you. On the flip side, those she dislikes get none of the love. Instead, she can be surprisingly snarky and rude if you make a bad impression with her. Mira has a rather dry sense of humor--some would say she doesn't have one at all--and it's difficult to make her smile. Despite coming off as rather introverted, Mira generally craves stimulation from the world around her and falls easily into competitive activities, such as video games and martial arts. In addition, her snarkiness seems to be lost on elven family members, sometimes making her seem meek.

BIOGRAPHY
The Kingston family is renowned for their upholding of the status quo: peace, magical aptitude, philanthropy and charity, politeness, etc. However, Mira is a blight on a pureblood elven family's perfect record. She was born of an affair, her mother merely a human. The Kingstons are rather distasteful of the mixed bloodline, but luckily for Mira, they must maintain their reputation especially now as the world falls into chaos. Mira was raised between the two families, but often made to feel like a stranger among her elven half. Outright abuse is deplorable to the Kingstons, but emotional neglect is a lot more passive.

Among the Kingstons, she grew privileged enough to have access to education in magic. Forever a disappointment to her father and his family, however, she struggled to catch on. Transformation magic came easiest to her--and she still dawdles in it from time to time--but even that proved too difficult for her among the pressure and discontent she felt from her peers and teachers. She was slowly pushed away from formal training in magic.

Needless to say, Mira is happiest at home with her mother. Sometimes she stands out among her human family: she has long and slender limbs, perceptive eyes, and her ears are slightly pointed. But they care for her all the same. School has always been easy for her whether it was upper level physics or a rough PE teacher. Even then, though, she was always chalked up to being the shy kid and generally left alone by her classmates. It seemed to suit her, and she found quiet happiness in hand held video games and other simple distractions.

Since graduating, however, she has felt lost. She works simple jobs and still lives with her mother--occasionally visiting her father's side to maintain appearances. She has a tentative interest in beauty school due to her passion for fun colored hair, and has recently worked up the courage to finally apply.

EXTRA
• When she fell out of magic, she turned to martial arts instead.
• She's ambidextrous.
• She has a nose piercing.
• As a half-elf, half-human, Mira is unable to have children of her own.
