In our post apocalyptic world the planet's resources are severely diminished. The Earth's population must be thinned out. The United Nations ordered the highest officials to depopulate. After the initial thinning of the population prisons are gone, the elderly are terminated at a certain age regardless of health. Every country is ordered to depopulate by 5% annually. The decision to do this was made law. It is enforced with strict military precision.



The schools are not the schools of today. These schools are surrounded by prison fencing with barbed wire and a guard tower in the center of the yard. On test day all children enter the school and then it is put on "lock down". There are metal rolling security walls that descend to cover every inch of the buildings until after the test and it's consequences. Every year for the last ten years the military has come in and administered a standardized test to everyone in school. Grades 1-12 are tested and each year they are thinned out. If you fail you are immediately taken away and will be "put down" so as to only have the best and brightest for the future population. The adults have no choice but to surrender their children to the test. Any parent, student or teacher will be beaten or killed outright if they interfere with the test results or try to help the students to get away.

What about corruption? Since it's all done by computer how do you know if you passed or failed? What about the jocks that the football team needs? What about the high society kids? Do they actually pass or is there a way that they are getting a free pass? What about that smart kid that tortures your kid all the time? How did they fail with the IQ of a genius? Is there favoritism and targeting involved?

It is test day once again. Will you pass? or fail? What happens to those that are "put down"? What of your siblings, friends, your boyfriend, girlfriend or just your best friend? Are they really killed or is there something else afterwards?

Name: Alexandra "Alex" Nichols

Age: 14

Grade: 9th

Personality: Alex is the typical quiet, soft-spoken girl. Sometimes she's presumed to be anti-social, but that couldn't be further from the truth. While she does genuinely enjoy being around friends and acquaintances, she tends to keep to herself when she's alone; her expression giving her the appearance that she's sad or depressed even though she's perfectly fine.

Luckily for Alex, she is both book smart and street smart. It is almost always the case that her poker face isn't giving away the fact that her mind is coming up with some complex idea to solve whatever issue is currently going on around her. She prefers to remain away from the spotlight, but that doesn't mean she'll avoid taking action if the situation calls for it.

History: Born into a middle-class family, Alex grew up alongside her twin older brothers three years her senior. Both of her parents have maintained stable careers to afford the family a comfortable life without having any form of financial stress. Since a young age, Alex has always loved music, and she went on to pursue such passion in middle school when she started taking piano classes as an elective. By her senior year, Alex had already been playing in the school band for some time, and they were even invited to play at a concert hall as part of a holiday festival celebration.

Unfortunately, the family suffered a tragic loss that same year. One of her brothers, Michael, failed his 11th grade exam and was killed as a result. Alex and Lucas instantly grew even closer than they were before, and Lucas started helping Alex with study materials he already knew like the back of his hand.

Now in high school, Alex can't help but think the worst for herself or her brother when it comes to the exam. Even though they've always been rather intelligent, she fears that they too will fail like her brother did the previous year. The family obviously hasn't gotten over their loss, and the tension within their home is only growing as the inevitable date approaches.

Biggest Fear: Failing the exam and being robbed of the chance to graduate school and go on to have a life of her own.

Is this Sr in high school? If so you should omit that since you said she is a freshman. Otherwise she is accepted. Please move to the Char tab.
