Taiyo remained stoic as his duel disk lit up, forming the solid light field in which he would play. He pulled his five cards, placing them into the special slot on his duel disk which he could examine each one.

He grabbed one of the cards, and revealed it to his opponent.

"I active the effect of Archfiend General. By sending it to the graveyard, I get to add a special Field Spell from my deck to my hand..."

He slid the card into his graveyard slot, and the duel disk slid a card out from his main deck. Taking it, he looked at his opponent with a knowing look. He then chose another card from his hand.

"Next, I summon Skilled Red Magician. This spellcaster has a history with the Archfiends, and I'll be sure that you find out why." As the card was placed on the field, the crimson robed spellcaster took shape.

"Now for the card I added to my hand and I hope you're familiar with. I activate the Field Spell, Pandemonium!" He placed the card he had drew from his deck into his Field Spell Zone.

The holographic imagery around them was then immediately influenced by the spell card, changing the scenery to a far more hellish and intimidating place.

Taiyo didn't seem phased.

"I'll take this time to let you know about Skilled Red Magician's effect. Should a Spell Card be activated, I place one Spell Counter on this monster!" One of the many gems that had been adorned in the magician’s robe let off a strong red light.

"Next, I activate my Swords of Revealing Light, holding your attacks at bay for three turns and placing another Spell Counter on Skilled Red Magician."

Three swords of pure light descended from the sky, blocking off the two duellists as another gem lit up on Skilled Red Magician.

"Finally, I play my Allure of Darkness Spell Card. Banishing a Dark attribute Monster in my hand, I draw two new cards. So I Banish..." He turned his final card in his hand around, revealing his fiendish Monster.

"My second Archfiend General!"

As the card was removed from the game, the Archfiend enthusiast drew two more cards. And smiled as the gem atop Skilled Red Magician’s staff glowed a bright red.

"Now, as I'm sure you've noticed, I've played three Spells while Skilled Red Magician was on the field, giving it a total of three Spell Counters. And now you'll see why that's a number to be feared. I activate Skilled Red Magician's effect."

The magician morphed together in the form of red light, before it began reforming into a much more menacing shape.

"By sending Skilled Red Magician with three Spell Counters to the grave, I can Special Summon one Archfiend monster from my deck, hand or Graveyard, so I call forth the first true Archfiend, a master of lightning and terror. Rise from the abyss, Summoned Skull!"

As Taiyo sent the monster from his field to the Graveyard, a card was displaced from his deck, which he immediately placed face-up on the field. A white skeletal figure joined by fleshy areas formed from the red energy, small sparks of electricity coursing around its body as a infernal croaking followed the lightning lord's summoning.

"To end my turn, I'll place one card face down." Sliding into his Spell and Trap Zone was a single card, leaving one remaining in his hand. "Your move."

As Carnel walked through the school, he came across a crowd that had gathered around an unusual-looking environment. Upon closer inspection, Carnel noticed the Solid Vision in play, as well as the Duelists in the center of the commotion, and realized that it was a Duel in progress. After making his way through the crowd to reach the front, Carnel found himself just in time to see an Ojama King destroy a student. Spotting the one who used Ojama King, Carnel's eyes widened in surprise, followed by a confident grin. Manjoume Jun, a once-pro Duelist who had retired, and he was here presumably for the event. Carnel couldn't believe his luck to have encountered someone like him already. Now all he needed was a way to get his attention.

As it turned out however, Lady Luck decided to smile once more upon him as Manjoume picked him out from among the crowd, offering the chance to obtain a Link Monster. Carnel's grin only widened as he raised his Duel Disk, activating it. "I accept," Carnel agreed without hesitation, getting into position.

Tsunozuka was clearly mad, likely due to the fact that their decks were so eerily similar, though moreso because Taiyo was explaining his every move to a person using a similar deck. The boy must have felt his intelligence being demeaned.

"My turn! Draw!" Tsunozuka replied with an angered tone. "For my first move, I normal summon Red Resonator!" he slammed a card onto his duel disk, a fiery demon carrying a tuning fork materializing on the field. "Next, I'll activate his special ability, allowing me to special summon a level four or lower monster from my hand. Arise, Edge Imp Tomahawk!" Another demon apparently composed entirely of axes appeared next to the first.

"I'll activate Tomahawk's special ability. It allows me to send one "Edge Imp" monster from my deck to my graveyard, and its name becomes that of the sent monster." A card was spat out by Tsunozuka's duel disk, Edge Imp Sabres.

"Level 2 tuner Red Resonator and Level 4 Edge Imp "Sabres"... SYNCHRO SUMMON! Everything it turned back. Come, the barbarian barber of beelzebub! Level 6 Archfiend Reverse!" Tsunozuka chanted as the demons converged into green circles. Emerging from them, a more powerful demon composed almost entirely of flame carrying the half of a scissor in each hand. It roared, creating a distinctly inhuman, distorted screech. A powerful glow was emitted from it, sending shivers into Taiyo, Archfiend Cosmocrat apparently calling back from within his extra deck, urging to be summoned itself.

A sixth zone extruded from the duel disks of both players, on Tsunozuka's side, his synchro monster appearing in it. "I'll activate the effect of Edge Imp Sabres. By putting a card from my hand on top of my deck, I can special summon it to my side of the field. Next, I'll play Archfiend's Oath! By paying 500 Life Points, I can call the name of the card on top of my deck, and if I call it right, I can add it to my hand." Tsunozuka appeared smug, having pulled off his combo.

"Hm... I choose Axe of Despair. Is that the card?" the card popped out of Tsunozuka's duel disk, revealing itself to be true. Tsunozuka smiled. "Next, the special ability of Archfiend Reverse! It destroys one of my cards, and in return, forces you to tribute one of yours!"

Archfiend Reverse put its scissor halves together, Edge Imp Sabres being grabbed in its other hand. With Summoned Skull being the only monster on his field, it was drawn toward Archfiend Reverse to be cut in two.

"Thanks to swords of revealing light, I can't attack this turn. I'll equip Axe of Despair to my Archfiend Reverse and end my turn."

@Scarifar

"That's the spirit" Manjoume nodded, the crowd behind him cheering. The body of his duel disk was black with yellow tiger stripes. The blade of the duel disk had a yellow border.

"If you don't mind, I'm going first." he said, before Carnel could protest. "I'll set four cards face down and end my turn." The man smiled. One monster was set in defense mode, as were three traps, or perhaps some were spells as well. "Go ahead. Be careful too."

While the Ghoulish Rider was busy attempting to create a new line of machines, a note was left in his Private Investigator office.

The note was simple, reading only "Meet me at the auditorium. Signed, Player Killer of Darkness".

The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell continued his machinery work for decent amount of time. During this process, Fyodor had lingering thoughts about whether or not his advertisements for his h detective agency had drummed up much business yet. These thoughts remained as he took a dirty rag and began wiping down the various tools he had used. Returning each one back to the tool-box and placing the box within the Pick-up, The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell spung a keyring around his right index finger before clicking it to shut the pick-up. With that done he left the compound.

...

Back at the office Konstantinovich began to examine and look for inquiries for potential cases which clients would want to hire him for. With a conspicuous note in eyesight the Damned Detective quickly grabbed it for closer inspection. Behind the helmet there was most certainly an expression on the Damned Detective's face; but that expression was just between him and the Devil. To an outside observer it simply appeared as if the Damned Detective just stood with the note, staring at it far longer than one would stare at such a brief message for.

This silence was broken by a series of pensive muses that were barely above a whisper, "Может ли это быть? Я ... это правда? Неужели правда?" As soon as those words were uttered there was a few faint more moments of silence before The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of the Hell eagerly began 'thrash dancing' up and down.

"Я знал это! Я знал это! Он не потерпел поражение, как утверждали слухи. Его известность поразила много страха в сердцах жалких еретиков, тех, кто не понимал проповедей тьмы, что они должны были лгать o его поражении. И ЧТО ВЫСОКИЙ СВЯЩЕННИК ТЬМЫ! ОН ЗДЕСЬ! И ОН ХОЧЕТ ВСТРЕТИТЬ МЕНЯ! EEEEEEEEEEE!"

Fyodor clutched his left hand before breathing in a meditative manner, "Говорят, вы не должны встречаться со своими кумирами, но это должно пойти хорошо. Надеюсь, я произведу хорошее впечатление. Он должен нравиться мне, да? да. Я впечатлю его так, что он распространит мое послание в массы." He took a moment to pause again as another possibility crossed his mind.

"Но если это была ложь того, кто просто притворяется Первосвященником, я УБЬЮ ЕГО." as he said that he mimed a cutting movement over his neck. With the note still in hand Fyodor carefully folded it and placed it in a pocket as he headed off to investigate the auditorium.

The destruction of his Summoned Skull was definitely a back-step, though he was glad his life points didn't take the hit. The ability to cause a tribute instead of the destruction of a card was an annoyance. He wouldn't be able to use Pandemonium's effect then.

"You are a strong opponent..."

He felt a small... calling from his extra deck. An instinctual desire to play a certain card...

For now, he needed to get that monster off the field immediately.

"Alright, my turn. I draw!"

Immediately as he drew the card, a single glance from Taiyo was all he needed before he placed it on the field.

"I summon the ruler of the Archfiend empire. Come forth, Archfiend Emperor, the First Lord of Horror!"

From the ground of Pandemonium erupted forth a huge stone throne, dark energies collecting on the seat before a colossal fiend materialised seated, staring down at Archfiend Reverse in disdain.

"Currently, his attack points become 1500 and he'll perish in the End Phase, but I don't mind, as I'll merely activate Archfiend Emperor's effect! Banishing my Summon Skull, I can destroy your Archfiend Reverse. Go, Titanic Terror Cleave!"

The large archfiend stood from his throne, his ruined crimson sword then lifted in his arms. A single soul flew into the blade, a skeletal face seen in the reflection, before the blade came down and sliced Archfiend Reverse in two, leaving Tsunozuka's field empty and Summoned Skull was sent to the Banish Zone. Taiyo didn't mind. Everything was proceeding fine. But he did remember the effect of the monster that was just removed from the field.

"Now I believe your monster's effect activates... if you have an Archfiend in your deck, go ahead and add that to your hand too."

"My turn," Carnel said, drawing his next card. Against a large number of face-downs like that, he knew he shouldn't be careless. He would have to be a little cautious this time. "I play the Spell card: Grinding Levels!" Carnel declared, the card appearing on the field, depicting a Silent Swordsman LV5 fighting a Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6. "This allows me to send one 'LV' monster from my hand to my deck in order to draw 2 cards." Returning a Horus LV4 and drawing two cards, Carnel examined his new cards, then continued, "I now play 4 face-downs of my own, then end my turn." Three face-down spell/trap cards, and one face-down monster. Carnel's defenses were set. Now to unveil Manjoume's strategy.

As Fyodor stepped into the auditorium, he was greeted by the ominous sound of organ playing. Down in the pit, a man in a thick jacket and large hair covered in a purple cap which appeared like the attribute circle for dark monsters. Upon arrival of the Ghoulish Rider, the organ playing had stopped and the man revealed himself.

His appearance was ominous, as he resembled the Player Killer of Darkness- shortened simply as Panik- who had allegedly gone missing twenty years ago during Pegasus's Duelist Kingdom Tournament, never to be seen again. Beforehand, however, he was known for his brutality in duels.

"Welcome, he who calls himself a servant of the dark lord. I have been waiting for you." he started. "I trust you've heard the news this morning. That is, the news about the rules changes. Your duel disk has, after all, already been modified for them." Panik stepped out of his piano bench and kicked it out of the pit before strapping a duel disk around his pelvis.

The doors suddenly closed, a clicking noise suggesting that they had become locked. "I was tasked to give out Link Monsters to all who I believed worthy, and I don't see anyone who would be more worthy than one who appreciates the powers of the Lightbringer. But! They also didn't say how I could deem one's worth and indeed, what should happen to those who aren't worthy. And as you'll soon find out, there is no getting out of this. You can either duel me, win, and get out, or you can stay in here and rot. Your choice." he laughed nefariously.

"I'll set the conditions. I chose the auditorium because it was modified to accommodate action duels, which I trust you know about. It will be solid vision with mass- meaning the pain from all my monsters will be all the more real. There will be no life points for this match. Instead, it will be an "I quit" match. Meaning the duel will only end when one of us says the words "I quit", and he who does not, will be the winner."

@Zepavil

"You know what? I'll activate what I wanna activate! And you know what else? Archfiend Reverse's effect works on your turn too! I'll target itself for its ability, and thanks to that, you also tribute a monster!" Tsunozuka boasted angrily. A smoke cloud appeared over the two demons and when it finally subsided, the both of them had their necks in between scissor blades, before being cleanly chopped off in a manner that only computer graphics could produce, pixels and all.

"I'll choose Edge Imp Tomahawk, and it'll be added to my hand while Archfiend Reverse goes back to my Extra Deck. To my hand from my deck, thanks to Pandemonium, I'll also add Archfiend Atheling, and that means I can special summon it!" Tsunozuka appeared very smug at that point.

"Draw" he savored the moment, slowly taking his time to pull the card from his deck. "Heh. I don't need it anyway. Normal summon, Edge Imp Tomahawk! Level 2 tuner Red Resonator and Level 4 Edge Imp Tomahawk... SYNCHRO SUMMON! Everything it turned back. Return to me! Come, the barbarian barber of beelzebub! Level 6 Archfiend Reverse! I'll set a card and end my turn." he spat.

"Aren't you from the Stardust House? You should be a master of synchro summoning. Why aren't you using a Synchro monster?"

@Scarifar

Before Carnel could end his turn, the man in the trench coat wagged his finger. One of his facedown cards was flipped face-up, Twin Twisters. "I'll discard one of my cards, and in return, I can destroy two of your spell or trap cards (whichever two)." he explained. "The card I discarded was Ojamagic, and when it goes from my hand or field from the graveyard, I can add one Ojama Yellow, one Ojama Green, and one Ojama Black from my deck to my hand." In that single move, he had taken out two of Carnel's cards and drawn three, all before even drawing a card.

The Damned Detective found himself swaying to the ominous music arising from the pipes of the organ; those notes of nasty attentions touched his very soul. The conductor in the orchestral pit soon stopped and revealed himself to the Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell. There was an instinctive set of motions underneath the helmet of the Ghoulish Rider as his eyes gazed upon the one who wrote the note. The appearance was clearly that of the Player Killer of Darkness and those soulful and ominous tunes from before confirmed thoughts Konstantinovich had earlier. This was Panik. Fyodor's legs began to wobble as he slowly reached around his torso to hug himself.

"O-oh, oh my!" spoke Fyodor in a hushed and awed tone, with his voice raised an octave."The LEGENDARY brutal master of environment, he who ruled the night with his army of the damned, breaker of wills..." reverently spoke Fyodor as he began twisting from side to side as his duel disk inadvertently created a few black hearts just above his head, "H-he's here with me. I get to see and experience his majestic villainy with my own eyes! Eeee, oh Satan, my Dark Lord eeeee! I am so sacrificing some more cats tonight for you for letting meet this priest of the old older!" squealed out Fyodor who proceeded to bounce up and down as the virtual hearts popped into an explosion of pixelated fireworks.

As soon as the Player Killer of Darkness began to explain his nefarious plot, Fyodor released his arms from hugging himself and began to gain composure. Breathing in and out and fluttering his hands a little eventually The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell regained control from the inner fan. He moved his feet shoulder width and stood stoically as the challenge was delivered.

"Oh esteemed Pla-player K-killer, ahem, of Darkness. I am most honored and humbled that you find me worthy." He bowed deeply before rising back up, "I thank you both you High Priest, and His Infernal Majesty for your appearance here today. I do not wish to sound arrogant to you sir, after all you are a True Professional, but there is no way that I would rot in here."

Fyodor frantically waved his hands from side to side, "By no means was that to state that I am looking down upon the carefully crafted carnage you bring through card games; but my resolute faith to Lucifer is absolute. I would be, er no wai-wait hardly, agh, starting over, I wouldn't be a Prophet of Hell if I could not successfully press on and avoid saying 'I Quit'. I stand here now, not just as a fan of you O Great Player Killer of Darkness, but as Satan's most trusted servant."

Clasping his hands in prayer The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell began to pray.
"Oh Dark Lord
May you hear from your servants.
All the way from the Old Priesthood
to the New Order.
May our blood be spilled in your name
to determine your superior servant.
Amen."

"I accept all of your terms. May the best Demonic Duelist win." Fyodor breathed out as he shakily offered his right hand to Panik to shake.

"Pl-pl-please, please... Please let him take it." muttered Fyodor under his breath.

Carnel grimaced as his Scapegoat and Fires of Doomsday cards were destroyed. He always hated Twin Twisters' ridiculous effect to destroy a backrow with such a negligible cost, and this scenario was no different. He had to admit, though, that using the cost to create a positive effect was quite clever of Manjoume. He wasn't going to be outdone just yet, however. It may have been a powerful move, but it had only been one move, and Carnel still had a chance to recover. He just needed to survive Manjoume's turn and obtain a good draw.

"I don't rush into things blindly" he commented, as he drew a card for his turn, "and I can't deny that your monster's effect is making is especially hard for me to execute my strategies..."

He examined the two cards in his hand. Taking the one he drew for his turn, he placed it face-down in one of his Spell and Trap Zones. His Swords of Revealing Light faltering. At the end of Tsunozuka's turn, they would cease their effect. "With one card set, I end my turn."

Despite this he seemed perfectly calm.

"Draw" the duelist declared, his hair shaking in the process. One of his face down cards revealed itself- Polymerization. "From my hand, I'll send Ojama Yellow, Ojama Green, and Ojama Black to the graveyard, in order to fusion summon Ojama King!" His three monsters joined hands, apparently speaking to one another as they swirled together to form a single white mass. It was stuck in attack mode with its whopping zero attack, though three of Carnel's monster zones were blocked off.

"Next, from my hand, I'll activate the field spell Ojama Country!" he stated. It started to feel a lot like the last duel. Obviously, he didn't have time to change out his cards. Then suddenly, zero attack became three thousand. "Ojama King, attack his face down monster."

The face-down monster was revealed to be Spirit Reaper, who blocked Ojama King's punch through an invisible barrier, despite a measly 300 DEF. "Because of Spirit Reaper's effect, it cannot be destroyed by battle," Carnel explained.

Jun nodded, immediately understanding Carnel's strategy, though at the moment had no responses to it, or at least none that he was leading on.

The duelist smiled. "I end my turn."

@Zepavil

"Just like I thought. No skill. No strength. You don't deserve to have those archfiend cards. In fact, you don't even deserve that field spell!" Tsunozuka hassled after drawing his card for turn. He mumbled, seeing that though there were no monsters protecting him, Taiyo's life points were still safe, hiding behind those pesky swords.

@Blight Bug

Rather than respond to Fyodor verbally, Panik simply backed away. "ACTION FIELD" a voice droned. "THE NIGHT", a seemingly different voice stated in a different, more solemn tone. Suddenly, the auditorium disappeared, giving way to a dark forest and a moonless, starless night, several light points rendered by the solid vision projectors of the auditorium following the two duelists being the only illumination, being just enough to see their cards as well as each other's faces.

Panik gestured toward Fyodor. "Go ahead. You can go first."

"Curses. Came on too strong, maybe made him think I wasn't cool..." lamented The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell as Panik simply stepped away from him. Beneath the helmet there was certainly an expression that appeared as soon as the action field appeared. He stepped to the side as he felt a rising tree brush up against where he stood earlier. The usual glow of the solid light duel disks were nothing compared to the blackness of this night. The only truly visible things were the heads and cards of these creatures of the night.

"A world cloaked in darkness, lit only by the Morningstar himself..." solemnly though with a noticeable touch of glee, spoke Fyodor. He nodded as the Player Killer of Darkness made his gesture, although he could not see the gesture he certainly heard it. Drawing five cards Fyodor carefully examined what he drew before deciding on his plan of action.

"I activate Foolish Burial." declared The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell as he selected Plaguespreader Zombie from his deck to be sent to the graveyard. There was a deep moan as Plaguespreader Zombie was entrapped below the forest. "Now I will summon Mezuki." There was a loud whinny as the manhorse appeared somewhere in the darkness.

"End."

So this is a Pro Duelist's strength... Carnel thought to himself as he saw the state of the field. He was driven into a corner, faced against a 3000 ATK monster. His backrow was almost decimated and his monster zones were restricted. All in all, things did not look great. Still, he was not defeated yet. Neither of them had even taken damage, after all, and now it was Carnel's turn to turn the tide.

"My turn!" Carnel said, drawing a card. His eyes lit up as he saw what he had drawn, and announced, "I play the Spell Card: Pot of Greed! This allows me to draw 2 cards!" As the green pot appeared on the field, Carnel drew his next two cards, and the pot was quick to shatter once its effect was used up. After examining the two cards he had obtained, he quickly decided on a course of action.

"First off, I activate the Spell card: Mystical Space Typhoon!" Carnel said, revealing the card. "And the card I wish to destroy is Ojama Country!" As soon as Carnel activated it, a strong gust of wind suddenly blew in, ravaging the mushroom houses and the landscape itself, returning the scene to the normal school area and dropping Ojama King's ATK back down to 0. The Ojama King cried as it saw what had been done to its home.

"I'm not done yet, though! By Tributing Spirit Reaper, I summon Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV6!" Carnel declared, the metallic bird-like dragon appearing with a screech. Pointing at Ojama King, Carnel commanded, "Horus, attack Ojama King!" Horus gathered a ball of dark flame within its beak, then discharged it at the white blob, who cowered in fear at its impending doom.

"A weak open is indicative of a weak opponent. Maybe I was wrong about you. Draw." he took a look at the card he drew, smiled menacingly, then put the card in his hand. "I'll normal summon the monster card, Castle of Dark Illusions!" he stated. Flying over head, materialized a flying castle, looming ominously in the night sky. "Next, I'll play the spell card, Double Summon! It allows me to summon an extra card this turn. I choose the card Slate Warrior! Arise." A humanoid creature materialized from underneath the flying castle.

"They aren't staying for long. Now! Witness for the first time, a new summoning method! I offer up my Castle of Dark Illusions and my Slate Warrior! Link Summon! Link 2, Palace of of Dark Illusions!" Panik rose his hand as Slate Warrior was drawn into the symbol on Castle of Dark Illusions, coalescing as mist surrounded them. The Player Killer of Darkness too had vanished, and in his place, the silhouette of a large, palatial building floating in the air, though the other duelist no where to be seen.

The castle disappeared for a moment, reappearing on top of the Ghoulish Rider's monsters. A single bomb was dropped on top of Mezuki.

@Scarifar

The duelist nodded as he took the 2300 damage from his zero attack monster, shrugging off the damage as if it were nothing. All that was left defending him were two set cards: One monster, and one spell or trap. In spite of his massive disadvantage in life points, he didn't seem entirely defeated, even seeing that Horus had the capability to level up, and he indeed knew level monsters.

Carnel allowed himself a small grin of triumph. The Pot of Greed proved to be a lifesaving draw. However, the Duel was not over yet. Carnel still needed to make preparations for a possible return comeback.

"I won't take any chances against you, Manjoume," Carnel said. "Before I end my turn, I activate my face-down card: Royal Decree! This negates all other Trap cards on the field-"

"-san da" the big-haired duelist added. His own face-down activated. "I chain in response, Ojamable. It allows me to Special Summon any Ojama monster that was destroyed by battle this turn. Because it activates first on the chain, it is not negated by Royal Decree. Not that you didn't know. Come back, Ojama King in attack mode." Once again, Carnel found three of his monster zones blocked off.

"-Also, during the End Phase, if Horus has managed to destroy a monster by battle, it rises in Level and enters its final form!" Carnel explained. He then began to chant, "Dragon of magic-repelling hide, lay waste to your foes! Level Up! Arise, Horus the Black Flame Dragon LV8!" Horus began to glow a brilliant white light, morphing into the shape of a true dragon, and as the glow subsided, the metallic dragon let out a half-screech, half-roar as it completed its transformation.

"And with that, I end my turn," Carnel said.

The trenchcoat wearing man drew his next card.

"Flip summon." he answered, smiling. Suddenly, the environment felt slightly colder, as a snowman appeared on the field. Once again, this monster had zero attack points. As it was summoned, Horus had become covered in a block of ice before shattering.

"I too have the card Pot of Greed," he answered, "but I don't have it in my hand. Instead, I'll activate the card Terraforming! With it, I can add one field spell from my deck to my hand. I'll choose Ojama Country! Battle."

After his opponent's turn, the Swords of Revealing Light faded, their time up. Time that he would now make sure was not spent in vain.

"Oh? I guess we have different ideas of skill." As Taiyo drew his next card, before he even glanced at it, he activated one of his face-down cards.

"I activate the trap card Archfiend's Roar! For a mere 500 Life Points I Special Summon my Archfiend Emperor! Take your throne once more, Lord of Horror!" The fallen form of the ruler of all Archfiends rose from a dark portal that had appeared on the ground, once again ready to battle. "Next, I'll use my monster's effect. By banishing the Archfiend General in my Graveyard, I can destroy your monster. And thanks to the effect of Archfiend's Roar, my monster can't be tributed, rendering Archfiend Reverse's effect useless."

Once again, the crimson blade of the Archfiend Emperor came down onto Archfiend Reverse, cleaving it in two.

"Next, I activate my second trap card, Shapesister!" From the ground rose a lady of liquid stone, taking to the size of the titanic emperor.

"My Shapesister is a Level 2 Trap monster, and is also considered a Tuner. Now, for the card in my hand..." Glancing at it, Taiyo's eyes lit up. This turn couldn't have gone any better.

"I Special Summon Archfiend Commander. In order to do this, I must destroy one Archfiend monster I control, so Archfiend Emperor returns to the depths once more." As the Archfiend Emperor, First Lord of Horror once again sunk back into the portal of darkness, the realm of Pandemonium around them fluctuated with power.

"Which allows me to bring an Archfiend monster to my hand that has lower levels. So, I add Archfiend Heiress to my hand!" With two cards in his hand, he shuffled them.

"Now I remember you commenting on how I should have Synchro Summoned a monster this duel. Well, I hope it was worth the wait. Tuning the Level 2 Shapesister with the Level 6 Archfiend Commander..."

Shapesister dissolved into two rings of flame, while the fiendish commander turned into six black stars that aligned within it.

"A dragon with the heart of an Archfiend. Take witness to the power that channels burning hellfire. Synchro Summon!" From the rings and stars burst forth a dragon of red and black, similar to a signature card of a great Turbo Duelist. "Hot Red Dragon Archfiend!"

As the large dragon loomed above Taiyo, for the first time during the duel he smiled confidently. Fire began to swell within the dragon's claws.

"Hot Red Dragon Archfiend attacks you directly! Scorching Scarlet Flare!" With those words, the dragon dived down towards Tsunozuka and struck him directly.

"I think I'll end my turn by setting a monster."

"When my opponent decalres a direct attack, I can Special Summon Battle Fader from my hand to end the Battle Phase!" Carnel declared, the creature appearing on the field. As Battle Fader's pendulum-like appendage swung from one side to the other, Manjoume's attack suddenly began to fade, and his monsters were back on his side of the field as if nothing had happened.

Carnel was glad to have had that card in his hand, as it saved him by the skin of his teeth, but that was the last of his defenses. It was in Defense position, but it still had only 0 DEF. If Manjoume Summoned more monsters, it would mean the end for him.

The zombified manhorse known as Mezuki unleashed a ear-shattering bray as the bomb was dropped. Resulting from this impact was a volatile potpourri of shrapnel from the decayed flesh of the manhorse, bits of steel from his axe, and a large amount of bark pieces from the forest scenery. The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell extended out his arms in a 'defensive x'. Fortunately the amount of shrapnel from the bomb strike was not that severe, considering that they were playing based around life points it would've just been 230 lost, however these bits of shrapnel were able to cut a bit into Fyodor's motorcycle leathers. Certainly there was an expression underneath the helmet of The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell as this damage occurred to the threads.

"I mean I admire you and all O Great Panik..." Konstantinovich started up before shrieking wildly and flailing his fist in various directions in the darkness, "THESE ARE GENUINE STAKHANOV! GE-NU-INE STA-KHA-NOV! PLUS THEY ARE OH SO VERY ELEGANT IN MASKING MY TRUE APPEARANCE! MY APPEARANCE CAN ONLY BE REVEALED WHEN SATAN ASCENDS TO EARTH AND ESTABLISHES HIS HELLISH REIGN! NOT A MOMENT SOONER!" As the next card was drawn Fyodor remarked, "Well at least I am in a world in darkness in case anything more dangerous happens to my attire..."

"Oh High Priest." solemnly noted Fyodor as he turned around looking in all directions in the darkness. "You say that a weak opening is the sign of a weak opponent; I view it as showing humility to the Lord of Darkness. He rules here, not us. We simply exist to bring about the Reign of Hell and spread it on Earth as his messengers. But..." The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell immediately placed the card which just drawn back to the top of the deck. As a direct result of this action there was a very deep moan as the earth below gave way to a pus filled arm. Plaguespreader Zombie had emerged from his unceremonious burial in the forest.

"I have used Plaguespreader Zombie's effect. Next I shall activate the spell card Revival of Dokurorider." The Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell declared as he offered a single card, Pumpking the King of Ghosts, from his had as tribute for Dokurorider. This was symbolized by the sound of engines roaring as pumpkin paste was spewed out towards the stars. The deep moans of Plaguespreader Zombie continued to fill the forest, as Dokurorider drove towards the source of it. "Now then! Plaguespreader Zombie go forth and tune up Dokurorider for the Synchro Summon!", ordered Fyodor. Obeying the command as soon as Dokurorider found him, Plaguespreader Zombie began smearing a purple ooze all over a shivering Dokurorider. The two merged and began bubbling and melding flesh together. Pus bubbles popped as the black night was illuminated by three orange pentagrams. The ooze shot up through all three pentagrams before slamming down on the ground opposite to the floating Palace of Dark Illusions. Dokurorider Heisei - Absolute Sovereign of the Damned had just emerged.

Fyodor pointed up towards the Palace of Dark Illusion; "I am sure you meant well establishing such a beautiful sight Oh Great Player Killer of Darkness. But! YOU HAVE MADE THE FATAL FLAW OF COVERING THE MORNING STAR! Dokurorider Heisei - Absolute Sovereign of the Damned go clear the skies so that we may appreciate the beauty of Lucifer plainly. Bring it back down to the ground where it belongs...ATTACK!" Dokurorider Heisei gave a thumbs up before driving through the forest in a mad dash.

Upon finding a small fallen tree, Dokurorider Heisei - Absolute Sovereign of the Damned used it as a ramp. Gliding through the air Dokurorider Heisei began to manuever higher and higher as his motorcycle slammed down on tree branches on the path for even higher trees to ride on. As he approached the heavens, Dokurorider Heisei - Absolute Sovereign of the Damned spied the Palace of Dark Illusions. Lunging off of his motorcycle Dokurorider Heisei flew through the air with his right arm extended. He grabbed the Palace and dunked it down. Hard. As the Palace of Dark Illusions made it perilous plummet, Dokurorider Heisei - Absolute Sovereign of the Damned extended out his right leg to kick the castle before leaping towards his motorcycle and landing it back down where he was summoned.

Tsunozuka looked impressed, finally seeing Taiyou do something impressive. He crossed his arms, seeing his monster taken out. Shooting from his deck and graveyard were one card from each, one from Reverse's effect and one from Pandemonium's effect. Luckily for him, he could benefit from one of his opponent's cards, adding Edge Imp Tomahawk back to his hand and Shadow Tamer (which counted as an archfiend) to his hand from his deck. However, as the dragon struck him, Tsunozuka's lifepoints were brought down to a mere 500. Looking back at the state of the game, Tsunozuka actually appeared to be losing, if only because of his opponent's Swords of Revealing Light.

"Draw!" Tsunozuka shouted angrily. Due to his life point total, he was unable to gather further advantage using Archfiend's Oath. Luckily for him, Tsunozuka still had a five cards in hand. "First, I'll activate the field spell, Archfiend Palabyrinth. Next, I'll use Edge Imp Sabre's effect from the grave to special summon himself! Next, I activate the effect of Archfiend Palabyrinth. It allows me to banish one fiend-type monster, then special summon one archfiend monster with the same level from my hand, deck, or graveyard! I choose Archfiend Vizier! Archfiend Vizier's effect activates, allowing him to special summon a level 4 or lower Archfiend. I choose Shadow Tamer! Level 3 tuner Archfiend Vizier and Level 3 Shadow Tamer! Synchro Summon! Return to me, Archfiend Reverse!"

Archfiend Reverse reappeared on the field making its signature distorted screaming. "I normal summon Archfiend Marmot of Nefariousness. Next, Archfiend Reverse's special ability activates. You already know what it lets me destroy a card I control and forces you to also tribute a monster! I choose Archfiend Marmot! Now you choose!" Tsunozuka had already added a card from his hand from the effect of Pandemonium.

@Scarifar

With no cards in his hand, the pro duelist shrugged. "Go ahead." he gestured to Carnel.

@Blight Bug

With Dokurorider's attack, Panik had jumped away from the castle, a silhouette. "Action Card, Miracle!" he declared. A puff of smoke appeared between Dokurorider Heisei and Palace of Dark Illusion, with the both of them still standing. Though there were no life points in this match, the force of losing lifepoints still hit the Player Killer of Darkness who shielded himself from the pain.

"Is that all you've got?" he taunted, before drawing a card. "Remember the effect of Palace of Dark Illusions? There was a card that was set from its special ability. Flip Summon, Night Assailant! Night Assailant's Special Ability activates, allowing me destroy one of your monsters!"

"Alright." He placed his hand on the monster in his extra monster zone, smiling soundly. "I tribute my Hot Red Dragon Archfiend."

As the form of the fiendish dragon sunk to the depths of darkness, it left Taiyo with a single monster on the field and one card in his hand.

"You know, it's rare to see another Archfiend duelist. They aren't nearly as popular as other archetypes." Taiyo commented, truly curious about his opponent's choice of cards. "Why do you like them?"

"Okay yes, I er..." grumbled out the Ghoulish Rider - Traveler of the Highway of Hell as the Night Assailant successfully pulled of its assasination. But of course it wouldn't last all that long.

"Dokurorider Heisei - Absolute Sovereign of the Damned never truly leaves his domain; well at least not that easily. I'm banishing the younger Dokurorider from my Graveyard for Dokurorider Heisei's special ability."

Engines blared as Dokurorider Heisei - Absolute Sovereign of the Damned returned back to the field.
