"They eat very well out here, may sound a bit odd but these little guys love to eat chicken skin and fat. I will toss out the leftover parts of chicken and the chickadee's and woodpeckers will eat it before they eat the seeds or suet."

He watches the chickadee eating out of her hand and just as quick as it appeared it flew off.

"We get woodpeckers out here called pileated woodpeckers. They have a 4 foot wing span, but they are really neat to watch."

Watching the bird fly away, Ele smiled. She loved to watch birds, they had been her favorite animals when she was a child and Ele would imagine that one day she would wake up as a bird and fly away to where no one could ever find her.

"There's so many more cool birds out here. We have mean seagulls, and deformed pigeons. They're not cute like these guys."

"We have seagulls around here but you would be amazed at the beauty of some of them here."

He bites into his wellington finally, smiling.

"They are still a month away but we have hummingbirds around here. They are mean little things but so cute. One time my youngest niece was wearing a shirt with flowers out here and a hummingbird flew up to her and tried sipping from her shirt."

"This is delicious! Amazing!"

She gasped, taking another bite and her eyes rolled closed as she relished the taste.

He chuckles.

"Like I said, it is really easy to cook."

He takes another bite, dipping it in the juices that run off.

"Filet is tender but not that flavorful on its own but with the shrimp and pepper as well as the mushrooms it all comes together."

"I can't keep letting you feed me."

Ele said, shaking her head and placing her hand on her belly,

"I'll end up rolling out of here rather than walk!"

"There's a place even more in the middle of no where than this?"

Ele asked in mock astonishment, stretching her arms above her head and pulling her legs up in her chair, curling up comfortably.

"I would like that though, I've never seen a real log cabin before. But really, at some point you really should consider coming out to San Francisco. You're showing me your neighborhood, I should show you mine."

The offer was a surprise to even Ele as she spoke the words. Never before has she ever offered to bring someone around where she lived.

"It is a vehicle that typically is unassuming looking that ends up smoking sports cars. Like an old rusty pickup truck, looks like it is about to fall apart if you look at it wrong. I have one of the ultimate sleepers, a 1997 plymouth grand voyager. People expect a little 4 cylinder front wheel drive mini van but end up getting a twin turbo 800hp V6 with all wheel drive. It is fun rolling into new drag strips where nobody knows you and leave corvette and mustang drivers wondering What the hell just happened?"

He laughs.

"One guy put up a grand saying he would beat me by 3 lengths at least. I ended up putting 2 on him. He argued up and down to get out of paying me the grand cuz it wasn't a fair race."

Laughing, Ele shook her head and hugged her knees to her chest. She couldn't really imagine a minivan beating a muscle or sports car in a race. It did seem improbable, but at the same time she didn't know anything about racing,

"You would think people would learn to never judge a car by its body work."

"Absolutely, I mean come on, some of the most powerful engines in the world right now are in the 3 to 4 liter range. We are in the age of the sleeper right now. Plus if a vehicle comes in with N/T on the window means it is a grudge vehicle and being grudge means they run it for loads of money often."

He smiles and looks over at her.

"It is a leather interior and the back of it is completely custom, no bed back there but it is a full wraparound couch."

Watching Tyler talk, Ele liked how he got excited and passionate about cars, how his face lit up when he explained the concepts to her. It made her wish she had something to be passionate about, but the closest thing she had was her art, which was strictly for her eyes only.

"I only understood that last sentence."

She giggled, getting used to Tyler's car jargon and not being bothered with not knowing what he meant,

"Sounds like a great roadtrip car. Slide a mattress in there and you can just cruise!"

"The couch has enough room to get your feet underneath. Just a small space to fit. I will either stick another bed in there and support it in the center or use the center support to just add a bit more leather and padding. Find a spot to park at night and camp out then leave in the morning."

"If you did go to the city, what would you want to see?"

She asked, curious to know what would interest Tyler. There was a lot to do there,

"There's the Academy of Sciences, a military fort, the Pier, the Wharf, Union... I live just a couple blocks from a big park and Union."

"Definitely the pier and wharf, would really be lots of things I would love to see and do, maybe get some fishing poles and go saltwater fishing for the first time, that would be incredible."

"I have a friend who docks his boat at the Pier. We could make a couple days of it, staying on the boat overnight."

The suggestion was just one that came to Ele's mind, she had done it before with a few friends and they had grilled the fish on the boat for dinner that night.

"It's pretty calm now,"

Ele said with a shrug, picturing the neighborhood in her mind. Her own neighborhood was vastly different from the indie-centric blocks.

"Definitely not the 60's type you may be thinking of, but it still has some hangovers. Mostly now it's all about indie, kitschy, organic, local..."

Waving her hand in a continuing forward motion, Ele smiled,

"You get what I mean."

"Yeah. Still kind of hippiecentric and counter culture. I love organic, I truly do. I know San Fran is very organic driven, watching bizarre foods a lot shows you that. I would absolutely love to pick up some local honey while I am out there. The honey is supposed to have unique tastes depending on where the bee's congregate."

He suddenly pops up.

"Oh, I almost forgot! Stay right here, you are gonna enjoy this."

He runs into the kitchen and rummages through the cupboards. A minute or so later he comes back out holding a jar of honey.

"Try this."

He opens the lid and it smells vaguely like pineapple and chocolate.

"I harvested honey last fall and the bee's actually pollinated some pineapple sage and chocolate mint."

"Then you'll have to go on the second Saturday of June. That is when they shut an entire street down and have two sound stages on either end and a market in between."

When Tyler came back with the honey, Ele daintly dipped the tip of her pinky into the sticky stuff. Licking the honey off her finger, Ele smiled and nodded,

"That's really good!"
