As of right now, a passing thought that I think might be fun to mod: a colorful, cliche fantasy journey adventure built for children.

It'd be your standard dead-simple Wonderland setup: a bunch of kids are dropped unceremoniously into a strange world and must find the way back home.

The difference here -- where Wonderland, Undertale, Kingdom Hearts, etc. generally rely upon a blank-slate main character to emphasize the weirdness of their new surroundings -- would be to rely heavily on the PCs' personalities to drive the story. Maybe the characters' imaginations are what develop the environment around them.

There would probably be some deeper, darker plot and gray moral dilemmas along the way, of course. I also tend to complicate plots indefinitely. The point of the RP, as is the point of any similar story, is growing up.

Mostly, though, this is a post to see how you guys feel about an all-child cast of PCs, 14 or younger.

So. Thoughts? :)

Edit: OOC is up!

I'm getting some Child of Light vibes here. I'm in.

Also I'm a big fan of the "A boy and his dog" trope, so would it be possible to have a young character with an animal companion?

I have some ideas for a little girl PC that I haven't been able to use so I'm quite interested, I'd say.

I always find your RP's interesting! And any excuse to play a child character is a good excuse for me!
And what time era are the kids from?

Count me in. This would be an amazing way for me to develop the younger sister of my protag in the book I'm writing.

Whoa hey hi there! Welcome! Thank you, all of you! <3 It's been four days since I posted this idea, but in that time I promise I've been thinking of some more solid worldbuilding things.

Also I'm a big fan of the "A boy and his dog" trope, so would it be possible to have a young character with an animal companion?

Sure! A dog would be fun!

And what time era are the kids from?

This is a question I've been debating. Since this is a portal fantasy, the kids' origin doesn't really matter all that much. I'm leaning toward modern-day, simply because I've done so many historical and futuristic RPs but have neglected modern. I'm open to suggestions though.

@Mokley how large of a group are you thinking? We've got 8 people interested right now, counting myself.

This is another debatable question. In the past I've tried accepting all and throwing them all in together, accepting all and splitting into groups, and capping the player count. One thing I haven't tried, but I think could work well, is to start every character separate and alone. This would mean that the beginning of the RP would be essentially a 1x1, letting the character feel out the world and react to it in their own way instead of being influenced by the people around them. It would also give me a good idea of how to move forward with that character before pooling them with others.

The obvious problem with that is time and energy required of the mod to pull it off. I'm working on that part, haha.

To answer the actual question, though, I think 8-9 is ok. :)

I should also note that my RPs tend to have a very systematic slowdown trend. It's crazy in the beginning, gets to a comfortable pace after 2 weeks, and after a month it's slowed to a few days between each post. After a few months, a post is a nice little present once in awhile. The RP doesn't die until no one is interested. See "Lantern" in my signature, where a posting round is a month long on average, haha.

Hey this is long. I'm working on RP specifics and will post again when I have something to show for it. xD

How many people are you looking for? This idea sounds really interesting. An all child cast would bring something new to the table in how they interact and develop.

@Ace of Jacks I'll take quite a few, I hate to put a cap on players. If a lot show up, the beginning might be slow is all. :)

For everyone: the OOC is up! It's not exactly the same idea as I started out with, but the premise is the same:
