On reflection, I should have posted here first. I did not think of it. But, I post here now to explain a status update which may increase my availability in a venue I have been forced to neglect for far too long.
Some months ago, I took a delivery job to help pay the bills. I applied for part time, but that quickly became "all the time". I came to realize that I was neglecting every area of my life...even my health. Having saved up enough money for a substantial leave of absence, I have chosen to pursue my creative career, which may mean more time to return to roleplaying. I won't be as active as before, granted, because I still have to work in the shop in order to keep this place running, but I'll be here. That's more than I had before.
Quitting was a risk, but it's one I had to take. Staying would have meant never realizing my ideas, or bringing them into a tangible form that others can enjoy. Making things is pretty much 90% of who I am. I have to try.
Besides: I have left the company on good terms, and have nearly a year's worth of bill money saved. If I can't make it on my own, I go somewhere else and get part-time again. I might try an electronics store this time. Nothing like the home field advantage, eh?
In any event, for those who knew me before, I am returning in some limited capacity. I would be very interested in rekindling those old friendships and seeing where new stories can take us. For those who do not know me, let me only say that I am an experienced roleplayer -both in forum/message play and in tabletop games- and that I have been around long enough to know exactly what I want.
I will be updating my profile soon, to reflect my current status. Until that happens, if you're interested in discussing ideas, want a partner, or just want to find out what I'm into, please don't hesitate to message me. The absolute worst thing that will happen is we'll find out we don't have any common ground.
