The Leon is an Africa based family. Something could be whipped up between them.

The Memolis are notorious due to their shady background, and their equally shady modern selves. They smuggle things for people, can get their hands on some interesting stuff, and other rather brow raising things, but usually to the point that if you know the full extent of what they do, you're implicated yourself. They also tend to be very loyal to the lines they work with.

The Pelacours are a very helpful family line. A lot of doctors, diplomats, general protector types. They probably try to offer help to as many lines as possible. They also took over the Seat of Defense recently, putting them in a high position of power.

The Ciervos would probably be more difficult to form connections with, as they're a highly reclusive cult in the middle of nowhere, but yeah.

The Lovettes are incredibly small, basically just the middle class version of a mage line. Not many of them are left.

The Kyun's where a big business Terramancing family until they all died. They have been mostly forgotten about.

Toby's maternal side is the Fox family, which I've worked out a link with VitoftheVoid, so if you want terramancer prestigious turned cultist Fox connections better go to her, but I'm so down with coming up with some Schipper links. They are a line that has been largely in America practically since the Mayflower, but they have roots in both Germany and the Medittereanian. Power wise, underwhelmingly dilluted but with some good runecasters here and there...but more known for some seriously spotty individuals, probably because people go looking for it now. Kind of one of those circumstances where any time some violent criminal is caught in the magical world, it's like... "Oh look, his grandma was half Schippers. That explains that nasty streak."

Granted, they don't have to go looking very far this generation.

So if anyone wants to come up with some history there, be it recent or ancient... hit me up!

Im not too creative with histories for my characters. So mine are pretty crappy and usually closed to preexisting acquaintances.

The Matheos family are basically middle class nobodies. Ray was the malcontent, so if anyone has a connection to them it would be exclusively through him.

Whisper's clan are hermits. No ones doing anything with them.

As far as my character's families go -

Nørrevinter - Very well known, hold the pyromancy seat on the council of eight as a hereditary position, and have done so for centuries, so are somewhat akin to akin to magical royalty. This doesn't necessarily mean they're universally liked by other bloodlines, as they're pretty fighty, rather arrogant, and believe themselves to be chosen by the norse gods. This tends to rub a lot of people the wrong way.

The whole Sterling dispute is in some way testimony to that, though has fault on both sides.

Kingsley - Rune-casters generally, english in origin, once the runic representation on the council of eight, now willingly stepped down from that position The former family head, Arthur Kingsley, refused to offer any aid to the forces against the cult during the war, leading to rumours about their tacit support of the doomsday cult. The rumours are that Aeryn Kingsley ran away to join up, and had a child shortly after her return... a child with a defensive primary, when her fiancee at the time was another rune caster.
These two things has made them both mistrusted and a laughing stock in equal measure.

Fox - The Fox family were a pretty famed terramancy family one of the founding council seats. Morgana Fox, Dinah's mother, was a fairly prominent political leader, to the point that her father Matthew, a prominent terramancer of Algonquin descent, took on the name upon marriage. unfortunately the unity between them wasn't all down to primary or personality. It was also that they were both prominent in the doomsday cult, and became pretty key figures in the war. Their actions after the war made the family a disgrace. Their coat of arms has been removed from all official records and most of the extended family now live wholly outside of the magical community.

Description: Azaziel stands at five foot six-seven, with a body type consistent for a person who spends their time roughing the outdoors, studying magic in nature abandoned building, and fleeing the scene of whatever crime he had committed/got involved in. His hair is ashen and usually cropped close on the sides, and left long on top, has recently grown out. The back of his head is kept in a pony tail, leaving the top to deposit itself on whichever side it chooses to at the moment. Azaziel is usually dressed in varying shades of colours, his shirts, button downs more often then not, are vibrant colours, while his waistcoats, gloves, and jeans tend to be midnight blue or black. Azaziel's eyes have a tendency to turn to the onlookers favorite colour, a side effect of his own experimentation, this effect is only triggered by those who posses magic.

Personality: Curiosity, Intensity, carelessness, and odd humor in equal measure, Azaziel has a personality that can rub one the right, or wrong way.

Skills: Azaziel possesses the born magical ability of his well-branched family line, and an astute mind that understands the nuances of magic and its properties. Blood Magic is second nature to Azaziel, and his drive to become more powerful, to learn more, helps to accelerate his learning process. The wandering life he lead, and the activities he conducted while homeless manifested as a well rounded talent pool.

Weaknesses: His curiosity, and reckless behaviour will ultimately lead to his demise.

Brief History: Zaze was born into a Mage family of notoriety, due to their open use of questionable blood magic, and their complete disregard for mage taboos. Inter marriages from discredited, and disgraced mages from other families are commonplace as their practices are less likely to disturb those who have already been shunned by the mainstream Mage families, and communities at large. In essence, they are pariahs, and welcome pariah's into their fold.

While they accept the discredited, their own process of elimination starts at a very early age. Zaze, and others once reaching the age of 12, are forcibly expelled from the family territories, and are expected to survive in the world until the age of 18. While it's not uncommon for these children to simply build camps just outside of their family territories, some choose to go roving instead. The mortality rate for these rovers is exceptionally high, so members of the family are encouraged to have anywhere between four to seven children, in the inevitable event that some will perish.

Zaze's decision to join the mages school was entirely his own. While he thoroughly enjoys his education, the restrictions on his experimentation have been difficult to adjust to.

Other: Probably consorts with demonic entities.

I enjoy the family lore, I must say,

Montana- This is the Native American family line, with the name 'Montana' chosen by the state where they reside. They have some representation within the North American continent, but globally I imagine they are unknown. Their defender line has existed for quite some time, but doesn't hold a prestigious title, his mother married into this family.

Crowley: Pariah's accepting any and all who show promising magical ability. They tack their last names onto the existing Crowley line, so many from their family have the multiple name string thing Azaziel has going on. I'd say they are widely disliked by anyone who puts stock into last names and prestige. Likely teeming with former cultists.

Secondaries of Interest- Illumination and Magical Weapon Infusement

Description: Tessa has blonde hair and icy blue eyes that seem almost piercing at times. She normally wears a dress of some sort or cute outfit.

Personality: Preppy and a bit bratty at times Tessa is a normal teenage girl.


Skills: For her age her defender powers are strong allowing her to create big shields or bring down advanced magic. She is also mildly skilled with a fencing sword and daggers in combat.

Weaknesses: While Tessa is able to bring down large amounts or magic and create big shields her weakness comes in finesse and stamina. She is unable to accomplish small delicate tasks and break specific spells instead of all spells around. Tessa also tends to burn through her stamina and powers quickly with her big displays and power usage.


Brief History: A daughter of the minor French Botrelle line Tessa was raised out of the bigger lines prying eyes by two loving parents. Neverless she carries her french history with pride and keeps the tradition of a strong line of Defenders alive.

Other: Tessa is fluent in French, and has a surprising knowledge of the history of the major magical bloodlines.

Description: Looking straight out of a high government organization Derrick is rarely seen without a suit and tie. Even Rarer still is the teacher seen without his signature sunglasses. At his side is a simple fencing sword resting in a black scabbard. Embossed into the scabbard's leather is a dark oval with concentric rings. His face always remains neutral never really expressing any emotion. Something about his face and sunglasses seems unnatural making it feel like he is watching anyone sharing the room, he if his back is turned.

Personality: Odd, at times he seems intimidating and dark as if he has done unspeakable things. Other rarer times Derrick seems to be innocent, having a dad joke sense of humor.

Skills: A master of illusions and trickery Derrick can alter the perception of reality in the blink of an eye. However his real achievements come in the form of Magical Weapon Infusement. One of the few able to enchant everyday objects on a consistent basis and helped gemstone enchantments. Aside from that Derrick also inherited the Avalon families uncanny ability to see through lies and falsehoods, making him very hard to fool.

Brief History: The Avalon Bloodline has been around since roman times. Their jobs have been advising kings and seeing the falsehoods surrounding court matters. They have also been Court Jesters at times, enchanting nobles and kings with their illusions and stories.

When the Magic Council was formed the Avalon took the position of magical advisers and judges on the council. Giving their advice on grave and important matters and settling disputes across the magical world. Their name and word is law and known to be just and true. This trust has allowed the family to hold and pass on forbidden knowledge and spells throughout the ages.

Before the war Derrick raised and expected to take the council seat from his father. As such he was entered into an arranged marriage with another lesser known magical family and produced an heir to the Avalon line. However during the war his wife divorced him, finding true love with another man. This was understandable to the young mage who really wanted someone to be there for his son Jason when he could not be.

During the war against the cultists Derrick joined forces with his fellow mages to beat back the cultists. He was a formidable and intimidating opponent on and off the battlefield who knew no mercy. However during the war he met another mage who changed his battle hardened views. It was with her that he fell in love with, entering into a childless but peaceful marriage.

After the war Derrick was expected to take over the council seat from his aging father however in a surprising turn of events he did not. Derrick's father decided his son had seen and dealt with enough in the war and deserved a peaceful life. However it is rumored that their were other reasons the elder Avalon decided to keep his seat.

During his second marriage Derrick took time with Jason, making sure to spend 6 months out of the year with him and train while readying him to take over the council seat when the time came.

When Marchand was being built Derrick received an offer to share his knowledge of magical bloodlines and infusements to the next generation. Seeing this as a chance to spend more time with his son and pass on the history of bloodlines to the next generation he quickly accepted.

Description: Jason stands slightly tall at 5'11", with brown hair and the traditional icy blue eyes the Avalon line is known for. He is normally seen wearing plain T-shirts of various colors along with a pair of blue jeans.

Personality: Jason is a perfectionist and does his best to do everything perfectly. From having good posture to following all the rules he does his best to uphold his family name. He is also a bit of a hardass as he fully expects others to be held to the same high standards he was held his whole life.

Skills: Jason is highly proficient in trickery arts and infusements, something he has been trained in for years. He is also good with a shortsword and a foil. He also has a few years of martial arts under his belt. He also has the uncannany abiltity to see through falsehoods though not to the extent of his father, Jason can be fooled.

Weaknesses: When Jason battles he does so savagely, taking out his frustration and anger from everyday and channels it into his fighting. These means that in the heat of the moment he can easily lose control. He also has minimum training in shadowstepping, being unable to go more than a few spaces at a time. He is also a horrible liar.

Jason is the next head of the Avalon bloodline set to take the council seat and has the family ability to see through some illusions and lies, however he is not as good at it as his father. With some lies slipping past him.

To help with this Jason was bounced around spending 6 months with each so he would be properly trained and prepared by both families.
