He asks, walking with Ele to his car.

Ele said quietly, sliding into the back of the car. Eric had immediately put her at ease, and none of her usual defensiveness or shyness came through.

"Alright, I will take you to my side of the city, think you will enjoy it."

He says with a more feminine voice than he previously had.

"Just so you know. I tend to talk more manly in public, kind of a way to catch people off guard when I am doing some protection."

He fires the car up and takes off, driving back to his place. Pulling up to a single level house he parks in front of it and shuts it off.

"Welcome to my home."

He says, hopping out of the car and walking more relaxed to the door, taking his key out to unlock the door.

As they walked up to the house, Ele was surprised that Eric didn't actually live that far away,

Opening the door he walks in, the inside is a bright red wall with a knockdown along a half glass wall leading to the bedrooms. The ceiling is a brocade texture in bright white.

"So, you found yourself a beau and are moving out to live with him huh?"

Smiling at her he says.

"We married a week later and we have been married for 11 years now."

He licks his lips.

He giggles.

Smiling as she listened, Ele nodded,

"Well he's really tall, like you, white as Wonder Bread but goddamn does he have a body! Like God decided to make Adonis but for realsies! Has made me into a car junkie, and has changed my mind somewhat about the wonders of ramen."

Laughing, Ele pulled up a selfie of the two of them and showed Eric,

"You want a man breaking someone down? We met a week and a half ago! But I can't imagine being with anyone but him. He's so strong and steady, he hasn't known me that long but he didn't run away when I told him all about the ugliness that was my childhood. Instead he worked to make me stronger so that I could be brave."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! The wonders of ramen? As in those 25 cent bricks with no flavor?"

He looks at the picture and giggles.

"Girl, that is your beau?!"

He looks at her and has a little fit.

"Okay, baby girl, here is what is up. That man there, when I came and visited Vale got me drunk for the first time ever. He eased me into drinking rum, then moonshine. He started me out with some sweet stuff then as it got later, he gave me stronger and stronger stuff. When I ended up with a hangover because of his ass, he made me this soup with eggs and some kind of noodle."

He laughs.

"Whatever that noodle was, it tasted good."

Laughing so hard that she couldn't breathe, Ele nodded her head as she listened to Eric's story. Gasping and holding her stomach, she tried to calm down,

"He's tried that with me too! I swear that boy is going to end up in a lot of trouble some day!"

Wiping tears of laughter off her cheeks, Ele quickly texted Tyler,

He walks to the kitchen and comes back out a few minutes later holding a hard taco, soft taco and hard and soft together held together with guacamole and cheese, all three filled with bean dip, chorizo and chopped heirloom tomatoes.

"If you are still hungry after this, you will always be hungry."

He hands her the plate of food with a smile.

"Ohmygod, these look amazing!"

Taking the plate, Ele took a bit of the soft taco and gasped. The food was delicious and she finished the first taco quickly. Slowing down after that, Ele balanced the plate on her knees,

"So am I going back to my apartment tonight?"
