@Game Maker so boss, thinking on it now i want to play my naive orc who desperately wants to be human and one day open up a basket shop. Would that be allowed or no?

(Btw, i never played 5e, only 3.5, a bit of 4, and pathfinder, so i dont know how the world of faerun changed or how the system itself changed.)

God of Madness murdered the Goddess of Magic, caused the Spellplague. Spellplague ended, magic items are now rare. but GM is using his own world.

@ShaggyDoo0 Follow up to my critical fail question as I work on character sheets...what happened with a critical success?

I will allow an Orc in this instance because this sounds hilarious but one of the reasons they were not allowed and Tieflings were not allowed is that it generally makes my life difficult as a GM/DM because they are generally feared by the general public which may make getting some quests harder or even lodging at the local Inn. Dragonborns are allowed because while they are feared they are also generally respected.

I guess since no one else (unless I've overlooked a post) has shown interest, I'll try to come up with a cleric. Current thinking is a young high elf who has had a fairly sheltered life within a temple. Maybe if it's allowed she might have multi-classed into one other class (most likely ranger, rogue, paladin, monk or fighter) or started out as another class before becoming a cleric.

@Game Maker Which should make the undead revenant interesting. But he's a sneaky thief, so he might be able to just hide

@Divine Darkness That is allowed. I will be posting a character that I will be playing as (to keep the plot moving in the right direction when need be) when I post the character sheets. I normally play as a ranger. Haven't decided if I want to play as female or male this time round, I can play both but since I'm female perhaps I'll stick with female...we'll see.

The character sheet is posted in the 0th post. My wife is driving all night on a road trip without me so I will be keeping her company and get too distracted when also on here trying to update the thread. I will be lurking so I can answer questions but won't have a character sheet up of my own until the morning.

I will be using the 0th post to provide the most urgent updates so that no one is having to wade through pages of posts to find out what I've added. It will eventually get moved to the first post which I will continue to include a line at the bottom letting you know when it was last updated.

Just a friendly reminder, please treat everyone with respect, including other players.

I think I'd like a dragonborn rogue that's just freaking massive, but tries to be sneaky. Whether he actually is stealthy or just scares people into looking the other direction, I'm not sure yet.

I don't see why we can't both play rogues, considering the fact that yours will specialize more in traps and mine will be more focused on pure stealth

@CajunRobinHood cause, stealth and traps are both tied to the Dex star. Only possible difference is that mine might be slightly more alert to his surroundings.

Using Volo's Guide to Monsters would you accept Kobolds as a playable race?

@Joshua Tamashii I understand that, but even with similar stat levels, we could still have radically different characters depending on how we play them. Also, with the amount of interest in this RP, isn't it very likely for some people to be playing the same class?

With the variety there us in terms of class, and the fact that alot of people from the int check haven't shown up I think everyone could play something different.@CajunRobinHood

@Joshua Tamashii@CajunRobinHood Player's can be the same class. I've played games with parties of nothing but fighters, it makes for an interesting dynamic when the party is not "balanced." Please don't feel you have to change your character to make a balanced party. If the party is ever lacking something I may insert a special quest to circumvent the short fall but very rarely can something not be accomplished because you have too many rogues and not enough clerics (insert any class type for this demonstration).

It occurred to me this morning that I did not explain house rules when making a character sheet. I will have that up in the next couple of hours along with my character sheet.

I think it is perfectly fine if 2 people play rogues, everyone plays their character differently.
I once DMed a game where everyone was Magistrates (Police Officers) in waterdeep and they all played as Paladins with crossbows. The party still had a great dynamic despite them all being the same class.
That is kinda the good part of 5e because there is Archtypes for classes, a Paladin of Vengence plays very different when compared to a Paladin of Protection.

Also note I am most likely going to multiclass Sourceror/Warlock or do a Beastmaster Ranger
