About time I put all these in one spot
Name: Dr. Annabelle Lynch
Age: 26
Role: Therapist/Counselor (Specializes in issues unique to the military)
Personality: A very calm presence, she has seen the worst that humanity has to offer and has come out the other end mostly unscathed. She isn't easily scared outside of her few triggers (aggressive flirting from men specifically) and handles every tense situation with a calm grace. She suffers from PTSD, in the form of the aforementioned trigger, regular nightmares, and a seeming detachment to reality when faced with horrors that would bother most people but she has it handled and looks after herself. She's very dependable and doesn't tend to turn to others with any of her problems. On the flip side she's very honest with her past her own struggles, she just doesn't emotionally depend on anyone but herself. Is seemingly promiscuous and 'puts out' easily but she truthfully doesn't believe anyone would stick around as she has regularly lost, been abandoned, or been betrayed by people her whole life. So she treats dating and sex as a methodical why to 'scratch an itch' and nothing more. She's a little self-conscious about her eye, as the scarring around it is hidden by a graft and when she takes her eye out (which is a must every night since it's a old model and needs to be regularly cleaned) the sight is grisly at best.
Bio: The daughter of a nurse and a soldier, her mother died giving birth to her. So her father raised both her and her older brother Kyle on Mars, where he was stationed. She had a very strong bond with her father and brother and helped look after them both. Her brother left home to pursue his career in writing almost immediately after he graduated. Anna was 14, her brother 17. Only months after he left their father was killed in action and, having no other family, the now 15 year old girl was placed in her 18 year old brother's custody.
Things were fine, for a time. Kyle joined the military himself to give them a stable life until she could join the workforce. But the job took it's toll on top of the grief. He started drinking, started berating and abusing Anna. He became further and further obsessed with 'keeping' her. The abuse continued to escalate from pure violence to sexual abuse.
Anna knew full well she had to get out, so she applied for colleges under his nose. And once she graduated she tried to sneak out while he was gone. He came home early and attacked her, in his psychotic break he tried to blind her taking a knife to her eye. He managed to carve out one, luckily not killing her in the process. She managed to scramble away by kicking him between the legs and she went to the authorities. The incident was on the news for some time as the new big tragedy.
From there she recovered, her insurance only covering the eyepatch and healing process. So she went to college, into psychology, with an eyepatch to cover it up. Her first gift to herself upon surviving her first year in college was a cybernetic eye. In her second year she got a upgrade to the eye that lets it act like a omni-tool, being young and foolish and doing that instead of getting a more updated eye itself.
She graduated quickly and now works specifically with soldiers and their family to deal with their various issues. Sometimes she gets recognized from the news but fortunately has managed to keep her head down enough to avoid attention.
