As of 7/9, we are finally officially underway after two weeks of some manner of planning.
Current Time/Situation: Prologue, most of the Characters in the Characters tab are assumed essential (AKA Not so much as killable, until the Present). We're introducing the world and the character, for posts as short or long as they are to give a good dynamic approach to the character initially, as well as the history in it. Dynamic character introductions can be made with the first post, providing some backstory, or personality. There is no post length to this sort of introduction, but don't make it overly long (Like I may've done with Sylvester). Do note the prologue is two years earlier.
We will be starting under this "Prologue" time and after everyone has taken a group consensus, we'll jump right to the present. Otherwise, we can skip all of that in turn.
Remember, Esailia and Kaze are Co-GMs. And should you have any questions if I'm busy - You may feel free to ask them.
I may've only gotten one reply from the Interest Check, although I have been told outside of that interest check (https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/163979-mafia-sort-of-rp-adult-themes-included/ooc#post-4321782) to just make the Forum Topic. As a fair warning, know what you're getting into with this RP (As adult themes are present): It's rather dark and gritty. As a result, it's meant for mature audiences. We may just move the RP off of the Forums because of the themes that would be included. Therefore this is only a sign-up page in retrospect, safe for things that can be posted without the little issue. Please bear this in mind if you choose to participate or not (and end up gazing upon the pages). Also, when you do sign up, bear in mind we might just end up having to RP on the Discord/Private Convo regardless of the circumstance.
Some portions may be incomplete or subject to change!
First things first, character death will happen: But only if the RPer of the victim accepts it (unless of course, the odds seem so highly stacked against them, which surrendering is an option.).
Being in a Mafia family/crime gang/police or whatever isn't required. Your character can be a bystander or normal citizen.
If you think you can handle it, you can create multiple characters. Don't overstep your boundaries, however.
Any personal disputes are to be brought to the GM (Me), or Co-GMs.
Harassment of any kind within the group will not be tolerated. No exceptions.
Do not force relationships/ERP without the other player's consent. ERP is to be put into DMs or Discord or whatever else, just not in public here. We have standards.
These rules can be subject to change until the finalization towards if this RP gains enough interest. Rules can also be changed via petition.
Your weapons, vehicles, and outfit may depend on what sort of "rank" or financial standing/class your character has.
If something is rare to see, don't go off making a faction full of them. Also, take some extreme thought if you're making a Draconian (See races section)
The death of the mayor of the metropolitan area had sewn seeds of chaos within and without. Back then, crime was at somewhat of a relative low safe for the underground. Family names were an urban legend that was ultimately true, as the people hadn't noticed their existence. But without the mayor to rule for a few days, those families had risen in force. Gangs committed their crimes unchecked as surges of membership enlistment had spread throughout. Leaders and their families or gangs had risen from urban legend to living legends in course of a night. Many people being held victim to deaths ordered by the dons, gang kingpins, and simple thugs alike. The police had responded by militarization and informants within the ranks of all but the most well known families, which had usually sniffed out and snuffed out the rats. The Silenziatore family (Otherwise more commonly known as the Colorless Mafia, or Mietitrice as the actual head families name) had risen up in a recent fervor, despite the recent death of Lambard Mietitrice (of natural causes). He is succeeded by his grandson in turn, Sylvester Lanston Silenziatore. Sylvester, as of turn, took the Mafia family name than his biological family's name, in defiance to his grandfather.
The Silenziatore family used to run major gambling operations. Although their major, more vile crimes included slavery and trafficking of the subhuman races. This ran from simple kidnapping and extortion, to sex slavery and brainwashing. Sylvester condemned the practices of such acts, and kept to being a hitman and enforcer within the Silenziatores up until his grandfather's death. Those who wanted to keep into the business often broke off, some being killed by Silenziatore associates or made men the next day, often found with rather large holes inside of their chest cavity or cranium. It's since around then that the Colorless Mafia had since then laid low within the city, somewhat dormant, implying that business is good. It's with the recent dismissal of the viler crimes that has lead in some instances, for the law enforcement to go on the Silenziatores a bit more softer. Of course, this doesn't mean that they'd get away with murder if seen or proven. Most of them tend to be in restaurants used in fronts, or lavish business centers which serve as a head of operations downtown. Of course, this keeps them from sending any illicit goods (be it illegally sold alcohol, tobacco, or gunrunning) to overextending their reach easily.
People into the prospect of subhuman trafficking usually get top dollar for attractive, mature and obedient women. And sometimes even men as well. Lagotyr and Feliceae are often prime targets of kidnappings and sex slavery within the city. Most captured are usually bred (oft against their will) until the fighting and defiance is put out of them. This meant that sometimes, entire families were put under prospect of this vile trade. Some of the born are unaware and of course, educated and manipulated into thinking the idea itself was something as natural as life. The more exotic the subhuman, the higher the price is to the top bidder. To make matters worse is that prejudice against non-human species are rather common, so this sort of situation is often overlooked. The Silenziatores (at least Sylvester's supporters which includes most of the family now) openly condemn the trade, and would sabotage most attempts of the deals and pens should they learn about them.
The Silenziatore family is regarded as the most well-known Mafia family aside to other unspoken names (decided by you, the RPers if it has the chance). Although Street Gangs and other organizations have also been into a sort of rise too. Including one led by a man named Jin. Jin's family owns the largest industrial factory in the metropolitan area, and it's used as a front for gunrunning and illicit supplies. The other factories are in collaboration for the legal part of the work, although in reality the leaders are appointed higher-ups by Jin himself. The police so far haven't been able to find links between Jin's legal work, and illegal work. As he launders the money through logbooks of the actual factory.
Of course, the metropolitan area is filled with more than just big names and groups. It could include smaller names and groups that have yet to become big..
From an outside perspective, this booming and bustling district has entered the effects of the roarin’ twenties. Men and women alike are shouting in rejoice as water turns into wine, and rags become riches. Though allow us to take you into the dark side of the American Dream, where pleasure and business go hand in hand, cash can buy you happiness, boundaries between friends and enemies suddenly vanish, and the prettiest of faces go to highest bidder. . A town with no boundaries, no limits, and no witnesses. . .
So kick your shoes off, loosen your ties, and indulge yourselves into this district of opportunity.
Welcome to Fiumerio, enjoy your stay Miss/Mister.
-REDACTED
The Colorless Mafia, otherwise known as the Silenziatores (Formerly known as the Meititrice Crime Family); is one of the oldest families to be present within the city of Fiumerio. The mafia is now split up into separate sects as part of Sylvester's own jurisdiction and prohibition upon the slavery trade. What's considered part of Sylvester/Sylver's portion of the Silenziatores is focused downtown. With some splinters/rogues operating throughout town.

That much you seem to understand. There is a skyscraper at the east side of town, and this city serves as our temporary field of operations. Crime is at an all time high, work with the local law enforcement to take down our Most Wanted present on the board. We are also set out on identifying new threats that could be a problem for our homeland security. Negotiate not with the white suits, as they have no business in our sort of job. They belong outside the border, risking their lives, after all. Leave the fools to their gossip and let's get to work. Drop in at any time and give the ID number associated with this letter to the secretary. She'll know what you mean, and she'll direct you immediately to where we need you presently. We will be informed upon your arrival.

More than just humans roam the city. Although the "Sub Humans" often face prejudice with who they are...half-human and half-others are normally considered abominations by some.
Humans - Commonly known as the dominant race, Homo Sapiens, or commonly regarded as the Humans, are a widespread species that have so many cultures to count, and with the recent change of history, this might've caused a schism in how humans are, not only in race, but potentially splitting the group of what they are into multiple "splinters", potentially these "splinters" could be something other than human, but act so much alike, and not only that, have the same sort of organs and blood as humans, that they could never really be called anything else. Humans are what started the civilization of the world, whether or not with help of the other races present on the world, it's always stood that any civilization had initially been started by the humans, but for better or worse, is always a question. As Humans even fight amongst themselves.
Lagotyr - More so recognized as 'rabbit people', Lagotyr possess incredible hearing, making them excellent scouts, although not so much trackers. Aside to that, they're known to perform better feats of acrobatics compared to human capability, although aren't considered as strong, safe for their legs.. Lagotyr have two variants, that of the Sun, and that of the Shadow, both variants do nothing to impact alignment or faction, but impacts more so appearance.
Sun Lagotyr possess a slightly younger appearance compared to their Shadow/Moon cousins. Sun Lagotyr possess a more youthful appearance, even when in their twenties to thirties, and, consequentially, look a bit more like children. Aside to that, they're rather light-hearted and trickster like in nature, pulling pranks and setting small, usually harmless traps on travelers, although there have been cases of some malicious work in the form of harmful traps, done by Sun Lagotyr as well. These Lagotyr are more active during the day, as they are compared to the night, and normally function like normal humans do in terms of active awake time. Sun Lagotyr usually have bright-colored, natural fur, that also goes with their hair, although as with any race, there are accounts of this fur and hair being dyed.
Sometimes referred to as Moon Lagotyr, Shadow Lagotyr are more so named for being the more matured variants of Lagotyr, and due to their nocturnal behavior, likely have an impact on the nightlife of the cities. Shadow Lagotyr are slightly serious compared to those of the sun, but can be fairly charismatic and skilled at cajoling and flattery compared to their brethren. They shown signs of maturity upon age fifteen. Although never enter nightlife until age twenty. They avoid raves due to their sensitive ears, however, but this is of a usual thought. Shadow Lagotyr are often distinguished from Sun Lagotyr via having natural fur/hair color that would be unnatural compared to their Sun cousins. Shadow Lagotyr tend to best deal as informants, magic users, and above all, due to their natural charisma, spies.
Canisrir/Fenrisrir - Sometimes called the 'Wolven', Canisrir are dog/wolf people, depending on what they are, they could be a tribe, or a civilized group, although regardless, they are always mostly known for their loyalty and intelligence. Canisrir come in a bit of a multitude of different cultures, some are lifelong protectors. Others could even be cunning and a little bit traitorous. Regardless, if you're sure a Canisrir is on your side, and he or she makes it clear, you'll be glad that he or she is. The Tengu are of their own faction. LaughingEdit
The Laughing Canisrir, often found in harsh desert landscapes are a form of Canisrir that are often found within tribes, which use different types of laughing to communicate with the rest of their group. They are often found in shades of brown, as well as black spots, although there are rumors that some are seen in coats of black or grey, roaming about ancient temples and burial sites. The black and grey are also grouped into the section, as they're also thought to be Laughing Canisrir. A Laughing Canisrir however, is not to be considered unintelligent due to their tribal upbringing, as they still have made articles of power and weapons of their own that have yet to be discovered still, and that it's best to not have a angry tribe after you for something stupid you've done.
Pack Canisrir are often associated with a large family.. they often work in tandem, to near hivemind states. A group of Pack Canisrir has a sort of mutual understanding of each member, and can make coordinated takedowns and thoughts. This also leads to diplomacy being rather easy (but not always) between them. They respect leadership, and the leader usually has a whole group of them at his beck and call. Pack Canisrir are often too attentive to anything, however. Some might be distracted even in the heat of battle, too. They appear more feral than the Prowlers and Laughing Canisrir both, usually using savage tactics on occasion when it comes to close combat.
Prowler Canisrir are commonly mistaken for (and called) Kitsunes, although all they have is one tail.. Prowlers aside to their Guard cousins (which would be comparable to dog people that have traits of domestic dogs) are commonly encountered in everyday life and in the city, usually serving as a fitting job of either criminals (for the Prowlers), and, true to their name, security guards. Aside to that, like their Pack cousins, Prowlers and Guards make for excellent soldiers and trackers. Guards are also occasion, pets of humans.
Feliceae - The Feliceae are a race of Cat-like humanoids, it's commonly thought that the Feliceae won't get along with the Canisrir, although there are accounts of the two getting along on the occasion. They are commonly known for aside to having greater sight during nightime, for having slit pupils for their eyes, as well as great reflexes and aerodynamic behavior. They make for excellent hunters on their own, compared to the Canisrir, who often use pack tactics.
Big Cat variants of the Feliceae, Stalkers are well renowned for their (usual) natural talent of stealth, and have a penchant for sneaking up on people whether for predatory reasons or play. This in turn makes them excellent assassins or scouts, but it also makes them seem like a ghost within the party, you feel as someone's there, but you're not quite sure. The Stalker subline of this race is well renowned for also, hunting instincts. While not excellent trackers persay, they make up for ferocity and a tracked mind that keeps ticking and thinking, instead. Watch your back when within the plains or the jungle, you never know if a Stalker with a more feral mind could be right behind you, wishing for a bit of a meal.
Often recognized as companions, these are generally regarded as pets for humans, though whether or not the human treats them as another person or just a pet. Regardless, the House variant of Feliceae has proven, much like the Guard Canisrir, to be part of everyday life, sometimes as their own being part of the workforce. Aside to that, house Feliceae are efficient at keeping pests out of the house, no matter what kind of pest it would be. Although this brings a danger to venomous insects, snakes, and other beings, which could sicken or endanger the House Feliceae. Sadly, as with any pet-like being, the House Feliceae could possibly be sold, as with anyone, into slavery, as well as the blurred line between 'pet' and 'slave'.
Miscellaneous, rarer forms of people have been spotted..such as highly super rare dragon-like Draconians. Or the technological Synthetic androids, and Mechforged.

"First post! Also, does teh description have to be written, or can it be a picture? Or could it be a picture as the base with descriptice writings about mods, extras and so on?"
I prefer a written description and a picture. Although a reference that openly explains the character can bar this. This helps us ascertain what the character looks like in our head, and if there's a physical difference from the ref to the description: We will spot it.
Ellynia "My life is to serve, my duty is to please, my desire is to live." Race: House Feliceae Age: 24 Occupation: slave to the Silenziatore family Faction/Affiliation: Silenziatore family Sworn Enemies: None (will be updated as roleplay progresses) Hopeful Allies: None (will be updated as roleplay progresses) A thorough physical description: A lithe Feliceae usually clad in a maid's outfit, Ellynia had neck length dark hair, trimmed and straightened, along matching dark brown eyes. Around her neck she had an obvious red line above her collarbone, signifying her lot in life even without the culprit; a heavy leather collar. Weapons: None Skills: Able to do all household chores, can read but not write, and usually managing other household slaves. Hand-to-hand combat. (will be explained in bio)
Bio: The Silenziatore family, like most high profile families, had their own breeding stock for slaves. A strict regiment and lifestyle was put upon them, and over generations the Family has been successful in weeding out free will from its slaves. Ellynia was born and raised into this life, and she was wholly devoted to it. She showed no signs of personal interest, to the point where she was selected for hand-to-hand combat classes, which only the most trusted of the stock were allowed.
There is little else to be said about her life. Day in and day out, she spent cleaning, serving drinks or food to Family or guests, being entertainment...training days she worked hard, kept her head down, and focused on bettering herself. She had no desire to escape this life, because even if she did somehow find herself without someone to call Master, she wouldn't know what to do with free will...

Name: Jane Kafatos (Undercover name Jane Garcia)
Race: Lagotyr (Moon/Shadow)
Age: 24
Occupation: Undercover Federal Agent
Faction/Affiliation (if any affiliation, otherwise none): Supposedly the Silenziatore. Actually, law enforcement at a federal level
Sworn Enemies (If any): None (Will progress as the story continues) Hopeful Allies (If any): None (Will progress as the story continues)
Weapons: Jane doesn't have any preferred weapons. She's been trained in the use of all of the classic firearms you could want, and her legs and arms are powerful enough on her own. When out in the field, she finds a pair of brass knuckles and steel toed boots'll do her better than any firearm that she has to worry about being arrested for.
Skills: Jane is trained as any good federal agent should be. She's proficient in the handling of firearms and has taken stunt driving courses. She also defies Lagotyr stereotypes by regularly training her upper body, and is a proficient boxer. Technologically, she knows enough about surveillance and radios to handle a wire, but she's more of a practical girl, having been a mechanic before she was approached by the police.
Bio: Born to a... Not very wealthy second-generation Greek immigrant family, Jane ended up on the wrong end of the law more than once throughout her early childhood. She achieved poorly in school despite being a rather intelligent individual, and ended up working for a very shady chop-shop as soon as she could leave school. Being both young and having no criminal record when she passed eighteen, she was a prime candidate for what happened next.
Whilst local law enforcement didn't have enough evidence behind them to pin the people running the chopshop, by arresting Jane on trumped-up charges they got her alone, and cut her a deal. A new life, a lot more money, and not a blemish on her record for what they knew she had been doing, if she ratted out her colleagues. She took the deal, left the city, and moved to a different state altogether, where she slowly built herself up into someone who would help the law, rather than oppose it.
Her work as an informant meant that she was on the list for federal recruitment, and eventually she earned it. She was trained like all agents, before having a new identity being set up for her in order to take on one of the largest operations yet- infiltrating the Silenziatore family.

Its skin is pale, but can ignite if in long exposure to heat. There is a black/brown scorchmark on its right thigh due to an attempt at tanning. There are no significant beauty marks, freckles, or blemishes due to the creator's dislike for unnecessary embelisments. It has no reproductive organs and a flat chest, it remains as gender neutral with its look as possible. Slightly under its battery core (small battery charge in the same place as a human heart) is a core that houses tactical tools that the AI can trade in for hands. (EX. a screwdriver or drill). Skills: Corin has a silent motor engine that permits it to run fast. It comes rough movement, but it manages. In NOMAD a cyberterrorism group that has since been disbanded, it worked as one of the head hackers. Hence its vast knowledge of technology and astounding hacking ability.
A Bio: Originally, on a May 28th in Hong Kong, it was constructed by a small scientist for the cyberterrorist group NOMAD. It worked as the third-in-command on the first crew of hackers for the group. After three years, it was booted from the group due to new models of its chip and shell. Shortly after, a majority of the group was located and the entire civilisation fell apart. It now travels the world as a wanted hacker/spy/assassin for hire.
A brief history of NOMAD: NOMAD was a group founded by a chinese 'nerd' who wanted revenge on his school bullies. He gathered his tech-smart-ist friends and set to work. In the end, his bullies needed to buy new phones and laptops. This was fun, he realised. He decided to do it again with his friends, now messing with the entire school. He had so much fun that he and his friends decided to start a group dedicated to hacking- and so they did. The boys took up NOMAD as their name, leaving every broken computer and TV station with their trademark symbol. A caravan spelling out NOMAD. This group grew, hundreds of robots and people alike messing with tech as one big team. Then they made a dire mistake, a rookie let their IP address loose for just fifteen minutes. That was all it took for police to find NOMAD and arrest the majority of the team. Since then NOMADs name has become but a memory.
Leave it to my older brother to bring such a unique Roleplay to the Guild. Anyway, I was wondering if you wanted me to advertise this. I'd like to see you get this Roleplay off of the ground, after all.
@tal0n no rush, Kaze's yet to do 'is. @Cyndyr You're more than welcome to advertise, let alone join. I do actually have a character design you may or may not like. Who knows? And even then. You're more than welcome to join us and make your own.
The Name's: Jin Hui Wei Quote: "Turning away, from this pain, disarrayed. . As this ugly face burns down in flames. ." Race: Human Age: 27 Occupation: 'Mechanic' Father to the Shaoshang Junction
Faction/Affiliation (if any affiliation, otherwise none): Shaoshang Junction
Sworn Enemies (If any): [To Be Announced via Progression]
Hopeful Allies (If any): [To Be Announced via Progression]
Weapons: Shaoshang's Stainless Slugger: Jin's signature weapon consisting of a baseball bat made of smelted steel and covered in rusted plates drilled in with various nuts and bolts. Wired seemed to be looped inside of each bolt, all tracing towards the butt of the bat containing a small container of gasoline connected with a bunsen burner. The grip would be wrapped in an orange bandana, showing off his colors with pride.
Skills: One would consider him to be a handyman, someone who has a niche for turning scrap into diamonds with the right innovation. The Macgyver of scrap and bolts. On a side note, Jin had used to play Baseball in his school days causing him to have a terrifying pitching arm, and one hell of a swing.
A Bio: Born and raised in Guangzhou china, Jin was born and raised into his father's factory as a child laborer. Jin never met his mother or his sister on the accounts of the two-child policy, leading him to live a life of solitude with an older brother who was drafted into the war when he was an infant. School was never an option for him as that would mean one less worker for the machines. So instead of reading books, Jin focused on reading blueprints and studied the several methods for wielding and mending metal. Though on his spare time, Jin would spend most of his time with a refurbished pitching machine and his very first creation, the Shaoshang Slugger.
Later on as the years had passed him, his father had passed away, leaving Jin as the rightful heir to everything his family had built up. Though instead of continuing to build ovens and toasters as his fathers before him, Jin pursued something a little more profitable for the company. From Jin's ages of 16 - Early twenties he transformed the Shaoshang Junction from a recycling junk yard to an underground chop-n-shop, dealing in tuned up vehicles and dangerous weapons for those who weren't legally allowed to own any.
Around his Mid-Twenties, Jin decided to pilfer the rest of the money earned from his practices and expand his territories overseas, whether it be by fate or by chance he ended up in Fiumerio. It's been two years since his arrival and Jin had already turned the scrap yards of Santa Chatarra into his little slice of paradise. . Though Jin feels that he could do better, perhaps there's more to this city then his little scrapyard. . Jin aims to claim Fiumerio under his own using Scorched-Earth tactics. . Can't handle the heat, then get out of Jin's way. .
