Hello! I'm Gullinkambi, rooster of the apocalypse and 80s vapourwave enthusiast, if you couldn't tell with all the Hotline Miami artwork and synthwave music. If 'Gullinkambi' is too much of a mouthful for you, you can call me Gull, Kambi, Jacket, or any other appropriate nickname. E.g; 'Aesthetic Bitch'.
I've been in the roleplaying biz for about 2 and a half years, though it's much closer to 5 or 6 if you count shitty things like ROBLOX and Google+. Yeah. Well, at least it wasn't Facebook, am I right?
Despite the amount of time I've been roleplaying, I still don't consider myself a very good roleplayer. My friends say that I'm a good writer, yet mediocre roleplayer, which I'm beginning to come to terms with. As such, I'm always open to constructive criticism and any form of tips to help me improve. I typically join roleplays at the level of Casual and Advanced, but I typically stick to Advanced, given that I end up taking 5 years to write a post because I never think they're good enough. I've already gone through 2 or 3 drafts for this introduction post, if that gives you any idea as to how many I scrap for IC posts. Hint: it's usually in the double digits.
I have a bizzare obsession with italics, though I guess it's a lot better than constantly SCREAMING EVERYTHING IN CAPS. I've always hated that way of emphasising text. It's up there with using underline text for emphasis. Gah. Anyways, I'm also fond of using lots of subtle colours for text. If you couldn't tell already, this text isn't purely white. Colour palettes are probably one of my favourite things in the whole world, and, as a fan of the Hotline Miami games, I often enjoy using a lot of pinks, purples and blues. Of course, if it's a genre that isn't 80s ultraviolence, I'll steer away from that palette if it seems inappropriate.
When it comes to other forms of formatting text, indents are often my best friend, especially when I'm in a writing slump and struggle to write as much as my peers. Yay for holding myself to standards I can never reach! I'm also a big fan of 'sup' and 'sub' tags, especially when they're stackable (like they are here!). They always produce really cool and interesting results, in my opinion.
Steering away from roleplaying, as this is also a social forum, how about I help some folks get to know me? I've been told I have a dark humour, akin to a 4channer, though not quite as cancerous. I often fluctuate between many forms of writing when I'm speaking to other people, as I have the overwhelming habit of typing like a pretentious asshat when talking to people I don't know, and then writing with zero capital letters and an abundance of British slang when talking to friends. Oh, and I'm from England. I'm also female, but that doesn't really matter because there are no girls on the internet.
Right, now all that's out of the way, thanks for taking the time to read this (probably) poorly written and unorganised piece of text, and I hope you have a nice day.
PS: No matter how dark my humour gets, puppies will always be my weakness. I fucking love puppies.
