INVISIBLE MONSTERS

According to the Mayan calendar, the world ended in 2012. Before that, the world ended in 2000 as a result of the Y2K and faces further demise as predicted by various mystics that fall within the same category as Baba Vanga, Edgar Cayce, and Nostradamus. If one were to preach that the world was to end tomorrow or next week, you'd rightfully disbelieve them as a result of self-fulfilling prophecies, failed predictions, and a general bliss of the unexplained due to a rise in science. With impressive breakthroughs in technology, biology, physics, mathematics, and chemistry, people have strayed further and further away from belief towards the paranormal only to predictably replace it with skepticism.

While it is true that much of the modern world is explainable, one might find themselves tongue-twisted in an attempt to prove a terror that only they can see. Luckily, these individuals may not find themselves to be alone and completely powerless, but they may also find that the rare appearance of a nightmarish creature have become occurrences. Finding themselves and their loved ones stalked by menaces that are invisible to a majority of the population, perhaps the world truly is at the end of its tether. Or at the very least, perhaps these individuals are at the end of theirs.

And what a shame that the gates have only begun to open. . .

WHAT IS THIS ROLEPLAY?
"Invisible Monsters" is a Roleplay idea that popped into my mind earlier this morning after awaking from a nightmare that intrigued me. While a majority of this Roleplay is still a blank slate (including what section in the forums it will end in or how many players will be involved in it), I would like for the basic idea to be focused on a group of individuals that have the ability to "see" any creature of legend from around the world, the minds of horror fanatics, or even from the imaginations of those involved within the Roleplay. These individuals would be hunted by these creatures that are becoming more commonplace due to unknown reasons that our characters must discover and resolve. . or die in the process.

I don't plan to put limitations on characters in regards to age (as long as it's realistic and say, a child character is accompanied by an older family member, etc) or how many can characters each player is allowed to have. I plan for character death is be plausible and common as I want this to feel like an actual horror Roleplay with genuine consequences (injury or the common "going mad" trope from Lovecraft are both welcomed as well). Whether or not there will be anything that "makes our characters special" (aside from being able to see these "invisible monsters") is currently up in the air and I have reasons to be both for and against it.

I think that it's it for now. I'm completely open to ideas, suggestions, and the like. So. . throw your ideas and interest at me!

Well, it saddens me that you don't have the time, but I appreciate your input on my idea!
