Brief:
A character I made for a RP of legendary reincarnate kids that died after I posted my first post. Lemme write him and I’ll be happy.

Legendary Features:
Garvey Dalloway
Male | 21 | Giratina | Sinnoh
Appearance:
Tall and lanky with grey eyes, Garvey sports a head of pink locks smoothed messily back with water. While he’s usually somewhere between annoyed and apathetic, his lips either curled or set in a firm line, people are usually distracted from his facial features by the large scar above his right eye, which he lets show with carefree bravado. Dark colors and slightly baggy clothes are his go-to, paired with well-worn sneakers and a cracked but functional wristwatch.
Background:
Garvey’s childhood was fraught with hardships and cut ties. His biological parents abandoned him at an orphanage early in his childhood, where he remained for most of his younger years due to prospective parents being put off by his hot-and-cold nature that saw him bouncing between bouts of complete withdrawal and inexplicable anger. By the time he grew old enough to understand what was happening, he was old enough to take to the streets, and so he did.
Out of the orphanage, Garvey performed odd jobs here and there to make a living. Usually they were exorcisms or purifications where he’d go in and resolve a Pokemon-related problem, most commonly one relating to ghost- or dark-types, but in reality he was often just persuading the Pokemon to move to a different location, or just find a different target that would later become a client. So he earned money in an uncouth and slight underhanded way—he had to make a living somehow. With only himself to count on, and later perhaps his group of vagabond Pokemon, Garvey wasn’t too sympathetic with the world. It wasn’t his fault most people were unable to connect with shadowy Pokemon like he was, and he was technically fixing problems for some people, even if he was causing them for others. The world hadn’t treated him well, but he’d found a way to survive despite that.
Soon enough, though, people started questioning his origins. There were many unsurfaced reincarnations, sure, but Garvey matched the general profile with his strange ability to connect to Pokemon. As a result, his nomadic lifestyle grew more mobile, and he became more withdrawn, wary of having people ask too many questions. He’d heard of the terrible things that happened to unlucky reincarnations, and his own spirit Pokemon hadn’t been regarded with favor even before the disaster. The Reincarnation Tournament, though, had come as a surprise—an unwilling one, perhaps, but one that Garvey decided to take up after deep consideration. His current lifestyle left him wanting, in a way, and maybe there was more to learn about his existence. Thus, he accepted the invitation, more interested in the information he might glean and receive than the tournament itself. However, though he hadn’t come for fame or glory, Garvey wouldn't go down easy either. He was neither a winner or a loser in life; he was a fighter.

Personality:
Born and raised in unkind circumstances, Garvey‘s developed an innate scrappiness to go along with his usual brand of annoyance. A frown or scowl is his default setting, if not a blank, uncaring front he puts up when he’s impatient or irritated. He’s also prone to anger, and though he’s gotten better at sensing, recognizing, and controlling the bouts, his control usually slips in tense situations.
Legendary Features:
From a young age, Garvey’s felt a connection to ghost- and dark-type Pokemon, perhaps because of their affiliation with the shadows. They’re drawn to him, as he is to them, and he’s often been able to sense them if they’re close. In addition, sometime during his childhood, Garvey found himself able to see what he would later realize is the Distortion World in mirrors and reflections. Though he is unable to enter it, he feels a strange yearning for it, as well as a fierce protectiveness over its existence.
Garvey’s early fusion form will see Giratina’s gold horns emerging from his scar, which will lengthen and widen as his transformation progresses. His eyes will go red, and eventually black bands will appear around the skin at his joints.

____________________ Detect Shadow Sneak Night Shade Fury Swipes | Cortis Sableye ◼ ♂ ◼ Serious | Composed◼ Keen Eye A surprisingly calm and composed Sableye, Cortis tends away from pranks and antics like most of his species. Instead, he’s adopted refined mannerisms, standing straight and walking without the prowling stance common to Sableye. As Garvey’s first Pokemon, he’s been around for a while and is, in a way, a better-mannered version of his trainer with his practiced grace. During battle, though, he forgoes usual humbleness for tricks and underhanded tactics, cracking the sly grin he usually represses. |
____________________ Icy Wind Feint Attack Quick Attack Taunt | Nocta | “Noct” Sneasel ◼ ♀ ◼ Proud | Mischievous ◼ Pickpocket Noct loves shiny things almost as much as she loves herself. It’s a close second, and if she’s honest, most things—like her trainer or teammates—are a far third. Everything else falls too far below that for Noct to concern herself with them, though she might be tempted by gifts or flattery. Filching items from others is her favorite pastime, and in her defense she’s just borrowing for a long, long time. Garvey doesn't buy this excuse, of course, but both of them know that won’t stop her. |
____________________ Supersonic Peck Focus Energy Poison Sting | Loria | “Lori” Nidoran ◼ ♀ ◼ Careful | Reserved ◼ Poison Point Lori’s a hatchling picked off the streets by Garvey. Likely the runt of her clutch, she’s a small specimen, and her general demeanor shows an early life of losing tussles over scraps and only having herself to count on. She’s still a small thing, distrustful of Garvey and her new teammates, but she’s grateful for the trainer who provides her food, shelter, and somewhat unwanted guidance. |

TL;DR:
Himiya Masahiro
Male | 24 | Hotaru
Appearance:
Tall and lean with blue eyes and an ever-present frown over his pale features, Masahiro maintains a youthful, almost feminine appearance despite his age and status. His long, grey hair is tied back with a red string and usually in a bun for battle, and his choice of armor is light to allow him maximum agility on the field. Because he has several sets of armor, some ceremonial and some actually meant for battle, his field armor varies, as do his casual kimonos. He does, however, tend towards lighter colors both on and off the field, though he owns sets of red as well for formal occasions.
Weapons:
Masahiro’s primary weapons are his katana and tanto, which make up his daisho set and have matching scabbards engraved with the Yatsuhiro royal crest. Their hilts are made of a bronze-gold alloy, his katana featuring the Hotaru royal emblem and his tanto bearing his family crest. These hang at his hip and are used for close quarters combat.
In addition to his swords, Masahiro uses a yumi, a longbow he carries under his arm when in use and stores on his Altaria when not in use. Similarly, his quiver is also stored either on his Altaria or on his back. Though Masahiro wields his sword with skill, his true talents are with the bow and arrow, especially while riding his Altaria.

Similarly, his quiver is also stored either on his Altaria or on his back. Though Masahiro wields his sword with skill, his true talents are with the bow and arrow, especially while riding his Altaria.
Equipment:
Masahiro often brings a satchel of basic items with him when he’s travelling. This usually contains bandages and ointment for scrapes and sores as well as a spool of red string for tying things, be it his hair or quiver. In addition, he brings along some herbs for his Pokemon: powdered herbs to heal, reenergize, and revive his Pokemon if necessary, bought from herbalists back in Hotaru. This satchel he keeps either on himself or on his Altaria, and apart from that he has a small pouch of coins he carries on his person.
Background:
Hailing from a frontrunning daimyo family of Hotaru, Masahiro received an early education common for a daimyo’s second son, being tutored in literature, arts, and military skills. Though he showed early talent with the bow, his family had him focus on his studies, prolonging his adolescence to avoid his coming-of-age ceremony, which would guarantee his presence in the front ranks of the battlefield. At the time, Hotaru had seen some rifts with Sher, a country to the west of Atlas that, according to stories, was built on blood and battle. War seemed imminent, and where the people of Sher seemed to celebrate the coming of war, those of Hotaru saw it as an honorable duty to fulfill and triumph in.
When war finally broke out, Masahiro saw it largely from within the country, fighting only a few battles with his father’s forces. From behind the battlefields, the loss seemed to come as a surprise, but Hotaru saw the reality in battle: Sher was simply too strong, too bloodthirsty. Unlike his fellow samurai, the Sher fought with a fervor the Hotaruans did not have, and their prevailing was a byproduct of this. Though Masahiro didn’t fight in the front lines like his father or elder brothers, he took this lesson with him as he grew, remembering the Sheran’s ruthlessness whenever he trained. Similarly, he applied this mindset in everyday life, rushing into the samurai ranks after his coming of age ceremony and fighting up the newly-opened positions. As the second son of the Himiya daimyo, he had a chance of becoming daimyo in the scenario his older brother passed away, but Masahiro wasn’t content to idle and wait for that opportunity. In order to fulfill his duty to his country and god, he needed to be doing the most he could, and he couldn’t do that by waiting for a position he might not get. Instead, Masahiro opted to make a name for himself to perhaps prove himself worthy of inheriting another daimyo’s house, should they lack worthy heirs to pass their assets down to. It was here that his age started working against him, since there were many qualified candidates for daimyo positions, and though Masahiro had proven himself as a high-ranking samurai under his father, other daimyo households would hardly acknowledge a position in his own house.
It was then that Masahiro was introduced to the Firebrand Tourneys. Though he’d always been a retainer of the emperor by virtue of being the son of a daimyo, he hadn’t become a retainer in practice until his entrance into the military as a samurai, and his newness made those under him question his inexperience. Fighting in the war before one reached adulthood was not really fighting, in many eyes, and though Masahiro had done well on the battlefield, the war’s ultimate loss attested to an overall testament of failure on the part of the nation’s military forces at the time. That said, the rise of the young emperor Yatsuhiro ushered in a new era for Hotaru—a new age for the nation to prove itself. The country’s successes in the tourney were, in this case, vital towards regaining its respect in the eyes of the other nations since the tournaments are held in Sher’s capital, and Masahiro knew that in order to rise further, he would have to be a part of that effort. As such, he sought out an invitation from the emperor to be one of the champions in the next Firebrand Tourney, intent on proving himself as capable both as a commander under his emperor and god.

Personality:
Though he often wears a frown, Masahiro’s frown is more of the pensive sort, and he wields a quiet nature that utilizes both forethought and reflection to go about his daily life. His experiences push him to be ruthless and utilitarian in his ways, but his religion tempers this by encouraging him to honor and appreciate those around him. Since honor is a vital part of Hotaruan culture and life, violating one’s honor is the most sacrilegious thing one could do, and Masahiro takes poorly to those who dishonor their heritage or any of his own values, regardless of what they might believe. That said, while he may be disapproving of certain folk, he will do his best to treat them with respect unless they do not do the same back, though he can come off as a bit short when interacting with them. He keeps his opinions private for the most part, but he is not afraid to challenge authority if it violates his moral code, save for his emperor, who he sees as a direct conduit of his god.
___________________ Ice Beam Moonblast Dragon Pulse Roost | Meiryō | ‘ Ryō ’ Altaria ◼ ♂ ◼ Calm | Graceful ◼ Cloud Nine Masahiro’s first Pokemon, who Masahiro got as a gift at his coming-of-age ceremony, Ryo has been through thick and thin with the samurai, fighting at his side from his first days as a young nobleman on the training ground. He’s often found with Masahiro’s bow and arrow when the samurai isn’t using them, and he carries himself with effortless elegance, his movements gentle yet marked and precise. Level-headed with a streak of introspection that mirrors Masahiro’s own, Ryo is of the adaptable sort, willing to both lead and follow as long as he agrees. |
___________________ Flame Charge Razor Wind Acrobatics Roost | Eibin Fletchling ◼ ♀ ◼ Bold | Proud ◼ Gale Wings The Pokemon Masahiro is in the process of rearing, Eibin was taken in by Masahiro after his promotion in the samurai ranks. An abundance of flying-types among the nobility of Hotaru has allowed such Pokemon to grow numerous in the region, and the daimyo of the nation are the most common owners of such Pokemon, since they have ties to the national religion as well. Eibin in particular was given to Masahiro as an egg, and he raised her from birth, hand feeding her until she grew old enough to fly on her own. From there it was training for the bull-headed flying-type, and Masahiro is working on tempering both her personality and her fire. |
TL;DR:
A high-ranking Hotaru samurai looking to prove himself by winning the Firebrand Tourney for his nation, Hotaru.
Female | “Ella” | 16
Appearance:
Standing at a comfortable 5’6”, Ella tends towards heeled boots to accentuate her lithe figure, but she swaps for flatter ones when on the road. Her blond hair reaches mid-back, and she prefers a heavy parka over any amount of layers and sweaters, though she wears them all in the cold. She’s often found with a kind smile, and she maintains a carefully curated appearance that only seems effortless.
Background:
Born and raised in Saffron City as the only child of two middle-class parents in fields barely related to Pokemon, Ella’s desire to become a trainer blossomed and grew through her childhood as she followed elite trainers on the screen and in the news. She quickly realized that it took more than just a strong team to make a successful trainer, and she’s frequented trainer schools ever since, brushing up on the basics while internalizing lessons from the screen for the nonessential plusses. Besides being decently palatable, there was being likable, standing for strong ideals, and having an ‘angle’ to attract an audience. Since she figures she has ample time to find an angle, she’s focusing on the other aspects at the moment, steadily working up to be a suitable public figure. After all, she wanted more than just a simple trainer income and a life on the road, and if being able to train Pokemon and inspire others was part of the package, then even better.
Personality:
Ella’s a pretty picture. Her smiles and manners give credit to her image of being an all-around nice girl, and she backs this up with her kindness to those around her. Breaking up her refined image is a penchant for klutziness, from slipping and tripping on nothing in particular to following through on silly ideas. Aside from that, she might make a few deadpan statements or light teases here and there, but none of those seem intentional on her part.
This is only when she has company, though; alone, Ella’s more subdued, more calm and collected. She’s one who thinks before she jumps, as much as she acts like she’s one who simply jumps, and the only time this might show to others is when she works with her Pokemon. While she would smile and apologize for any outcome in her favor, citing beginner’s luck or good fortune, it’s usually anything but. That said, she truly does value her friends and Pokemon as well as honor and dedication. It’s just honesty she has trouble with since she finds that it’s often easier to gain someone’s trust when she’s actively trying to, and actively trying to might mean a few white lies here and there. But no harm in a little dishonesty if it makes someone happy, right?

Quinn Nidoran ♀ ◼ ♀ ◼ Calm | Collected ◼ Poison Point As Ella’s first Pokemon, Quinn is and continues to be a grounding presence in Ella’s life, helping Ella in more ways than she can count. She has a quiet disposition and will often choose to watch scenes play out rather than comment, though she’s able to assert her presence when needed. Supporting Ella and her teammates is something she does well as the kind, mature personality on the team, and she’s the closest thing the team has to a mom. | Fabio | Fabs Clefairy ◼ ♂ ◼ Jolly | Kind ◼ Magic Guard Fabs is fabulous and that should be obvious from his name. Ella saw him dancing under the moonlight on one of Mt. Moon’s ledges and was instantly smitten, pleading that he come along on her journey, so he deigned to agree. He graces her team with a flair that it would certainly otherwise lack, and though he doesn’t love battling, he does enjoy the spotlight, and that alone is often enough. |
Setsumi Muromachi
The Graceful Tea Master
Female | “Sumi” | Floaroma Town | 23
Appearance:
True to her graceful mannerisms, Sumi dresses her small, slight frame in traditional clothing, which requires a semi-elaborate morning and night routine each day. She wears this with effortless ease, a gentle smile to match her amber eyes regardless of what time she might have awoken. In fact, it can be argued that Sumi is never underdressed for the occasion, and few people—if any—have ever seen her out of a kimono or yukata. While the exact patterns and accessories of her outfit might change with the seasons, transitioning smoothly from plum blossoms to maple leaves and cranes throughout the year, the elegance and grace she exudes never does.
Personality:
Sumi is a calm and gentle soul with an endless pool of love and respect for all things. Normally both the listening ear and the shoulder to cry on, she shows an extremely high amount of patience for most things, often acting as a mediator and a caretaker. However, though usually quiet and reassuring, she’s quite able to establish her presence when necessary, wielding a cool, cutting grace. Though she lives by her own high standards, she holds others up to a lesser, but still relatively substantial one, seeing it as a means to encourage them to improve themselves. While she has a competitive streak, it’s heavily tempered and personalized, and she sees losing as an opportunity for improvement and encouragement of the opponent.
That all said, despite Sumi’s seemingly endless amount of patience, she does have a shorter fuse for some things, and when she runs through this fuse the situation can become… messy. Few people like talking about when she’s mad, though there are rumors about how scary she can be. If one thing’s for sure, it’s that it’s rare not to see Sumi with a smile on her face, so pray that it stays there.

Background:
Floaroma Town was always known as the town of flowers, where colors bloom year-round and impart the air with an undispellable perfume, and it was among these sprawling fields of flowers that Sumi was raised, taught to watch and appreciate rather than pick or trample. Delicacy was as much a must with raising grass-types as it was with raising certain types of flora, and just as different types of care are required for different species of bloom, differing touches were required for different Pokemon, each of whom would be unique and individual in themselves.
Though some might call her upbringing in the local tea house rigid, even harsh, Sumi never saw it as such. While there were moments that had driven her to tears, there were also moments of extreme tenderness, of raw admiration and heartfelt appreciation, and it was these moments that stayed with Sumi as she left on her trainer journey at the young age of thirteen. With her went her care and respect for everything around her, and as she made friends along her journey, toughening up to the scrapes and bruises gained in battle alongside them, she also found in herself something all trainers who go far do: A sharp, unyielding desire to win.
This competitive edge drove her far from home, but eventually she returned, all her lessons intact. Battles and victories has only gone to temper the lessons she’d learned so long ago, and she arrived home as the Floaroma Gym Leader, the grass-type expert of the region whose gentle touch could tame the most temperamental of flora and fauna. With her arrival came the growing emphasis of culture and love in the town, transforming Floaroma from a simple settlement amongst flower pastures into a center of gentle festivities and appreciation for all things. Tourism boomed, and under Sumi’s watchful eye, no flowers were trampled with willful intent, and each visitor left with some more appreciation for their surroundings than they arrived with.
Five years later, after achieving a level of stability within the town that could even be called stagnancy after her studies finished, Sumi set her sights on the horizon: A position as an Elite leader, holding more influence if not a higher status than a mere gym leader. And, since the things she chose to neglect numbered few, a year was all it took to brush up her old team for new heights. Off she went again, this time settling in the League offices where she again established a cultural center, though smaller this time. There, she saw visitors and challengers alike, inviting them to attend a tea ceremony to calm their spirits before they underwent the strain of their final trainer trials. It’s here that she’s been for the last two years, bringing culture and respect to a group that desperately needs more of it, in her opinion.

___________________ Psychic U-turn Shadow Ball Toxic | Onkō Whimsicott ◼ ♀ ◼ Timid | Spritely ◼ Infiltrator Onko is small, and she always has been. She’s a flighty, shy specimen who Sumi groomed to health after she came into the young girl’s care. Though she remains equally petite in size now, she’s in tip-top condition, fast more ways than one. However, her retention of her shy demeanor makes her no more of a threat on the battlefield since her true confidence is found in both her trainer’s presence and the pride she takes in her victory count. As Sumi’s de facto assistant during her tea ceremonies, Onko acts as an assistant, helping Sumi set up her pieces. When needed, she’s also able to whip up gentle breezes to and cycle new air into the room. |
___________________ Stealth Rock Psychic Earthquake Signal Beam | Kane Bronzong ◼ ⚥ ◼ Sassy | Temperamental ◼ Levitate While Kane first met Sumi as a rather slow and heavy Bronzor struggling to stay afloat, under her care they became the polished Bronzong they now are, at least physically. Though they’re still a little rough around the edges personality-wise, often short-tempered despite the situation, Sumi’s working on it with them During Sumi’s tea ceremonies, Kane welcomes and thanks the guest as they come and leave. Ideally, they do this with a single calm, composed strike of their bell, but in reality they often end up creating a ruckus. Sumi’s working with them on this too. |
___________________ Poison Jab Steel Wing Aerial Ace Knock Off | Sonchō | ‘ Chō ’ Leavanny ◼ ♂ ◼ Jolly | Responsible ◼ Infiltrator Chō is always upbeat, always down for whatever Sumi has planned for the day. He’s the sunny face of the team, and Sumi is constantly thankful of how responsible he is. In fact, he’s often the one looking out for his teammates, which is something Sumi appreciates just as much as his constant smile. Ever the smiling musician, Chō is in charge of background music, strumming a makeshift leaf guitar he fashioned with the help of his teammates and his own wit. He’s not great at it yet, per se, but he’s practicing and getting better. |
___________________ Earthquake Explosion Stone Edge Will-O-Wisp | Niru Torkoal ◼ ♀ ◼ Bold | Stubborn ◼ Drought Nevermind moving a little slow, Niru acts like she’s from the last century, scorning anything she doesn’t understand for the simple comforts of life. This makes her a bit of a stubborn snob when it comes to accommodations, and she’s perhaps the pickiest eater on the team. Come mealtime, it isn’t strange for Sumi to spend a little more time whipping Niru something up on the side, though she doesn’t mind since Niru pulls her weight and more on the field. As the designated fire source, Niru helps light and maintain fires during Sumi’s tea ceremonies, tending a steady flame for the kettle. Her presence saves Sumi from having to deal with the soot and smoke of traditional coal fires, and in return Niru likes to pilfer a bite or two from the kaiseki courses if Sumi’s not watching. Naturally, Sumi’s learned to watch—and serve some extra. |
___________________ Ice Beam Sludge Wave X-Scissor Superpower | Kuzu Crawdaunt ◼ ♂ ◼ Adamant | Selfish ◼ Adaptability Kuzu is by far the least kind of Sumi’s Pokemon, and she doesn’t say that with pride. What she will say, though, is that despite his selfishness and oft-present instinct to stir the pot, he’s still able to deliver when it counts. While he’s not the nicest, it can be argued that he’s the strongest, be it because he tends towards conflict or not. Sumi’s resident water bearer, Kuzu helps transport water from Victory Road’s waterfall into Sumi’s humble tea house. Though he’s not particularly picky about his water, he’s still relatively territorial about it, and he has a tendency to get riled up if he spots another Pokemon in the same body of water. |
___________________ Sleep Talk Ice Punch Fire Punch Earthquake | Onbin Snorlax ◼ ♂ ◼ Careful | Gentle ◼ Thick Fat Onbin is the gentle giant of the group, quiet despite his size. Though he’s unable to be as silent as he’d like by virtue of his body, he does his best, moving slowly and quietly through his days. Naps and food are some of his favorite things, and joining Onbin for either will pretty much guarantee a positive opinion from him. While his usual kindness is utilized as dedication to his trainer in battle, let it never be said that he’s a sore loser, or a disrespectful winner. Aside from doing the heavy lifting when it’s required, Onbin is often present for the resting portion of the tea ceremony, gently snoring away in the corner after food has been served. He’s pretty hard to wake up, yes, but Sumi’s made accommodations to the tea room to make sure he fits without getting in the way. |
These are the Pokemon Sumi originally trained for her Gym and later trained again for her Elite Four spot. They’re pretty standard specimens though she’ll still claim they’re unique in their own ways, and they came into Sumi’s care via League-affiliated breeders or adoption in cases when they had no other home.

TL;DR:
Traditionalist tea maiden who always smiles. Don’t make her mad.
